Mason seemed to be having the same problem as her, and all her confidence from earlier was starting to evade her. Taking the shot from him, she downed it quickly, not even grimacing at this point. She sat up as well, gasping a moment at the soreness between her legs that had already started to settle from the position she'd been in. She took a breath and looked up at Mason as he asked if she could make it up the stairs. She could do that. She was a soldier. She nodded a moment, but trusting her voice until she downed the second shot.
"A bed sounds nice....and maybe a massage?"
She sounded a little hopeful, even though she didn't even look at him. She wanted that clarity in her mind to go away so she could be around him without wanting to run away or scream. This wasn't right, her mind kept saying. It was already starting to feel like Mason was a stranger and she couldn't stand it. She couldn't lose him right now, not because of her own decisions and her pushing. She needed his comfort. He was keeping her grounded even though their actions were leaving her weightless. She took the third shot and felt the burn return, that wonder sense of getting fogged up. She had never wanted to be drunk or buzzed so much in her life and it made her feel like a bitch, but she and Mason were both in the same both. They couldn't handle the information their bodies so clearly were relaying right now.
Standing up on wobbly legs, she managed to keep standing even with a light wince. Huffing out a breath she took Mason's hand and traced his palm, trying to get back to some familiar ground. Her body still hummed with want of him even as her head told her what she was doing and had done was wrong. Her heart, on the other hand, kept beating and pumping blood. It kept saying she needed him to heal and sate her desires and just live. They didn't have a forever. They had right now. And that was what she needed. She needed a fuckbuddy, not a person to share her life with. A lover who could deliver but never ask for her heart. And Mason was the rock she needed. She knew she wouldn't be able to resist the allure of his body and sexuality, but she didn't have to worry about falling in love with him. She was too broken. Besides, she needed fun. She couldn't handle serious anymore. Making up her mind, she whispered.
"Take me to bed, Mason..."
