NightStalker x Lilytania

Ross could hear the relief in her words as he felt her relax more against him, laughing softly as his blue eyes met her emerald green ones. "For now I am going to carry you to bed so you can get some sleep, tomorrow you can wake whenever."

Natalie smiled, her eyes looking into his blue eyes, much like her dad's eyes. She sighed, nodding slowly. "You don't have to carry me," she murmured. She was small, but she didn't want him to get hurt. "Honestly, I'm fine." She shifted, slowly sitting up. She brushed the crumbs off her shirt and mouth, and stretched.

He smiled and watched her slowly move, his own legs stretching out further as he slowly stood up from the couch before reaching for his cup and walking casually across to the stairs. "You still remember your room"

Natalie smiled, getting up. She got up, walking toward the stairs. She nodded. "Of course I do," she said. She began to climb up the stairs, making her way down the hall toward her old room.

He smiled and watched her ascend the staircase, the last wishes of her parents being carried out now as he began to look after her. Thinking back over her question related to her birthday he smiled widely as he climbed the stairs entering his room a few minutes later, relaxing at his small desk with a view of the large yard, moon highlighting several parts of it his mind could already picture where the decorations and most of the activities would take place. About an hour later he finished his reading of some papers and coffee before laying in bed to close his eyes, drifting off peacefully to sleep.

Natalie shut her door behind her and opened up her suitcase. She pulled out a pair of shorts and a tank top, and then went into the bathroom. She changed clothes and brushed her teeth, before she crawled into her bed. She noticed how he had taken out most of the things that she had put in there, or he had put in there, when she was small. She sighed, quickly falling asleep.

Ross had left a small note in the beside cabinet letting her know fully that the items were stored in the shed, it was early the next morning when he woke and descended the stairs quietly and slowly. The kitchen was soon giving off delicious aromas of his most famous and easily made breakfast, hearty bacon and eggs with toast and orange juice. His coffee brewed and left to cool slightly as he served up a generous amount of each item onto two plates leaving one on the small little burner that he had installed to keep the food warm for hours. Sipping his coffee he smiled and knew that in just under a week from now she would be called a young woman instead of a girl.

Natalie came down the stairs an hour or so after her uncle got up, having smelled the food. She had only brushed her teeth, so her red hair was a mess, her clothes a bit rumpled from her disturbed sleep. She rubbed her eyes as she entered, and used a hot pad to pick up her plate and bring it over to the table. "Morning," she said.

Ross was glancing through a section of the newspaper when he heard her footsteps across the floorboards of the house, his eyes meeting hers as he smiled widely. "Good Morning. Hope you remember I cook lots."

Natalie smiled slightly, sitting down and beginning to eat. She nodded. "You're gonna make me fat one of these days," she said with a smile. There was so much food on her plate. She wasn't anorexic, but she didn't eat much. She looked up at him. "I'm sure you'd say I need some meat on me, though," she said with a smile.

Ross heard her words and smiled before laughing softly. "Oh you will use it up, you are still growing so eat what you can now." He said softly before finishing the paper and placing it to the side, his own breakfast finished along with his coffee.

Natalie finished the food after about ten minutes. She looked up at him, and pulled her legs up into the chair with her so she sat Indian-style. She smiled, watching her uncle. "So what's going on today?" she asked.

He smiled back into her eyes before standing and picking up all the plates along with cutlery and his cup, walking casually to the kitchen he loaded the dishwasher turning it on. Returning to the room he placed one hand on her shoulder. "You get to enjoy your new surroundings and your older belongings are in the shed." he said softly.

Natalie waited for him to come back. When he did, she smiled, taking his hand and holding onto it. She stood up, smiling at him. She felt better now that she had slept. She wrapped her arms around her uncle, glad to be in a familiar environment. "I'm glad I'm here," she said, "and not with some child protection agent."

Ross returned the hug warmly before softly kissing her forehead in several spots. "Natalie I am glad you are here too. Tomorrow we could see a movie or two if you wanted. "He said softly.

Natalie smiled as Ross kissed her forehead. She looked up at him and smiled. "That sounds good," she said. She gently kissed his chin, and smiled. "What do you like to do in your free time?" she asked curiously.

He had been worried that the time between her parents passing and now would not have been long enough for her to grieve and move on but it was evident that with family love and support it was going to happen. "Cooking, reading, movies and music are my main passions beside working. How about you."

Natalie smiled, shrugging a bit. "Pretty much the same," she said. She leaned her head back into his chest, sighing. She looked over into the kitchen, then back up to him. "So what would you like to do?" she asked.

Ross felt her head rest against his chest, smiling down into her emerald green eyes his own blue eyes sparkled lightly as he spoke. "Bigger question is what would you like to do?"

Natalie looked up at him and shrugged. She smiled. She had always hated this game. "Whatever you want to do," she said. She didn't like to go back and forth with, "What do you want to do? I don't know, what do you want to do?" She smiled. "Pick something."

Ross had a feeling she would say that and smiled softly before kissing her forehead again, his blue eyes sparkled a little more. "I choose that you go take a shower and freshen up a little, give me about twenty minutes and we can go for a walk to the large park just down the road."

Natalie nodded. "Okay," she said with a smile. She let go of him, running to the staircase and taking the stairs two at a time. She quickly got into the shower with her shampoo, conditioner, and soap, and got cleaned up. She then changed into jean shorts and a grey tanktop, and put on her navy blue Converse. She then grabbed her camera and went downstairs to wait for Ross.

Ross watched her excitedly run up the stairs, using the bathroom downstairs he was ready a few minutes after her dressed in a pair of black trousers, short sleeved white shirt and black boots. His typical outfit for walking much distance and opening the door he smiled taking in a breath of the crisp morning air. "Ready to go."

Natalie looked up when Ross came back out. She nodded, smiling. She wrapped the camera strap around her wrist to hold onto it, the small Canon fitting nicely into her hand. She walked out, looking at her new neighborhood. She looked back at him. "So where's the park?"

Ross closed and locked the door behind them, his blue eyes meeting her emerald green ones as he walked casually ahead of her while whistling softly. "End of this street turning right once." He said.
