He went into a frown as he was bandaging up a Bidoof's leg after it had a small cut on it. "I had one...my very first pokemon, a Shinx." He said as he moved onto watering a withering Oddish. "It was before the ranch officially opened...moreover while we were still doing renovations...it was storm season and the house wasn't built like it is now. I left Shinx inside so that he'd be safe while I went to get firewood but...the house collapsed from the intensity of the wind...I lost my best friend that day. That gravestone you see out there, thats his."
 
She looked over at the stone and walked over to it. She crouched down touching the stone marker and felt sad "I'm sorry." she stood and ran off back into the woods away from the ranch causing the pokemon to call her back but she didn't even glance back as she ran.
 
Seeing her run, he finished the Oddish as he took off after her. "Where are you going!?" He called after her. "Mightyena, cmon!" He called out as he rushed after her. "Neta-Rain! Wait!"
 
Slowly stopping, he sighed as he watched the girl disappear. "Looks like that'll probably be the last we ever see of her...right Mightyena?" He said before sitting down against a tree, waiting. "Lets give her ten minutes...then we head back."
 
She ran and found a empty pokeball that Neta had burried. Taking it to a group of pokemon she had passed while escaping she found one willing to go and she ran back. Just as the ten mintues ran out she stopped in front of him dropping the pokeball out of breath "To thank you for helping me, i called in a favor." inside the pokeball sat a shinx and she hoped this one could help chear him up.
 
(Oh at first I thought you ment she buried a shinx in a pokeball haha.)

Looking at the ball, he looked to her in slight surprise. "You...went and got me a new Shinx...?" He said as he picked up the pokeball, allowing the pokemon to come out of it.
 
She stood there not making eye contact blushing "Well you seemed to be really torn up talking about it so that little guy agreed to be your as long as you kept him happy, he don't have a name or anything so its like starting over i guess."
 
"Well...I didn't give my last Shinx a nickname, and I'm sure Sparky is too cliche haha...why don't you name him...Neta-Rina?" He said smiling as he petted the shinx.
 
The Shinx jumped on him happy at the name and turned to her thanking her. Neta smiled at him "Your group helped me so I returned the favor." She blushed and shifted a bit nervous "Was it still ok for me to stayy at the ranch for a bit, Nathan?"
 
"Of course Neta-Rain...you're always welcomed at the Ranch. Its getting late though...shall we head back?" He said smiling as he laid Shinx out onto his shoulder. "I'm not one for pokeballs."
 
Neta slowly began to walk behind him wondering why she was blushing and doing this stuff. She was a bit nervous but with him she didn't feel fear at all and she was confused about it.
 
When they reached the Ranch, Nathan walked her into the house. "Since you're still...human-like, you can sleep in here, though I've only got one bed so I'll take the couch. The pokemon usually sleep out in the barn where I've got nearly any habitat in there, minus fire types cause...well I don't want my barn burning down."
 
She actually started to laugh "that's an obvious thing. Nathan i can take the couch, I don't mind." she wanted him to keep his bed since the comfort from it would be better with all the work he did.
 
"No, its fine Neta-Rain. Don't worry. I'm pretty sure you'd rather take the bed alone than with me, huh?" He said teasingly as he nudged her with his elbow lightly.
 
She simply walked over and stretched out on the couch "Keep your bed I'm fine here." she yawned and slowly closed her eyes as Mightyena pulled a blanket over her looking at Nathan his eyes doing his talking 'shes quickly getting use to you'
 
"Yeah, I can see that Mighty." He said smiling as he petted the pokemon before patting the bed. "Well then guys, lets hit the hay." He said smiling before laying down on the large bed, easily falling asleep.
 
Yawning as he woke up, he saw that Neta-Rain was gone. "Guess she's outside...?" He said as he got up and stretched before heading out to tend to the pokemon. After feeding them, he went looking for her and found her in the watering hole. "Well now...thats supposed to be for the water pokemon to play in but I guess you can use it as a bath."
 
She ducked under the water as a few goldeens swam to cover her. A Quagsire was on the edge holding her dress while some silkoons fixed it up. Neta poked her head out of the water "C-come back later when I'm ok!'
