An untamed slave

Marcus was not sure what effect his words would have on her, the brightening of the cheeks accompanied by the stuttered out words along with her still standing there told him that she was intrigued by him but still apprehensive, that as not surprising given the circumstances they had met under. Standing up he walked purposefully over to her and placed one hand on her waist, leaned down and softly kissed her lips not even hesitating for one moment. His eyes met hers as he spoke softly. "Willow I always have even before meeting you.."

Willow blinked startled as he came closer to her, chills ran down her spine as she felt his hand land on her hip and yet she didn't turn away from him. In fact she stood right there not even fighting him despite her experience with him being so close before, the fact that he was who he was and acted how he did had caught her interest and drawn her to him despite the bad. Looking up at him she blinked slightly confused as to what he was planning on doing when he suddenly kissed her, at first she froze completely surprised but then began to relax against him as her eyes closed and she wrapped her arms around her neck. It wasn't her first kiss, however, no one had ever kissed her like he was doing just now. When he broke the kiss to speak she just looked up at him distracted by the fact that he had kissed her, "what do you mean? You couldn't have possibly known of my existence before my father lost that game and before you took me."

Marcus had felt her body relax against his, feeling her arms wrapping around his neck he met her soft gaze and spoke even softer. "Willow yes I did, your father spoke of you occasionally almost gloating that he had such a beautiful lady in the same house as himself.."

Willow looked at him rather surprised, never once had she ever heard her father call her beautiful. Even when her mother was alive she was usually referred to as cute or something similar, "R-really? what else did he say about me?" She wasn't sure if she should believe him but part of her was curious and knew he wasn't lying about it

Marcus could tell that she had been surprised by what he had recounted to her, it was not something he wished to dwell on though as he shook his head lightly and spoke even softer. "Willow we both know your father did not care so why bring him up to drain your mood even lower."

Willow sighed softly and placed her forehead against his chest, "could you ever understand? To have a parent pretty much just dismiss you, even when both are alive. Not once has he ever told me I'm beautiful, when I was younger it was always cute or something like that. Never beautiful or pretty or anything like that, he never truly wanted me around and only acted differently when my mother was around so as to make her happy. To hear he had said that about me to other people is not only a surprise but it's also somewhat comforting I suppose you could call it, I don't really know but..." She paused and closed her eyes, Willow had no true idea what she was trying to do or trying to say. It was surprising the least to learn something like that, but she couldn't blame him for not wanting to say anything else. After all it was clear he didn't even like her father, even if he hadn't said anything she could see that much.

Marcus felt her head relax against his chest, breathing a little slower he knew she would soon hear the slower beats of his own heart as he listened intently to her words, feeling the power behind them he softly kissed her forehead and rocked her body gently against his as he spoke just above a whispered tone. "Willow yes I can understand, have actually had one daughter but lost her due to a drunk driver. Your father is not someone I truly hate but at the same time he should have treated you better." His voice trailed off for a few seconds before continuing. "I made my promise to protect you always so that is what I shall do, now lets enjoy each other and as for going to bed I do hope you will consider spending more time with me."

Willow couldn't help but laugh, "just because someone goes to their room doesn't mean they are going to bed." when he mentioned his daughter she felt slightly sorry for the man, to have lost a family member in such a way must have been horrible. Of course, she knew something about loosing a beloved family member to an accident though she still blamed herself for her mothers death." Sighing softly she looked at him and smiled softly, "you are very intriguing Marcus you know that?" She wasn't lying either, so far her time living with him had been very interesting, even if not all of it had been good. Willow studied him for a moment before placing a finger against his lips, "As for your promise we shall see how long that lasts, and just because you've kissed me doesn't mean I'm going to allow you to do what you like with me"

Marcus listened intently to her words and smiled softly, he was not going to be brutal unless absolutely necessary which he highly doubted right now. Delighting in the soft flesh of her finger against his lips he sucked on keeping eye contact with her before speaking softly. "Willow I dare say you are more than intrigued by me, now how about we take something to drink with us and you can delight in one of your past times with my private collection of reading material."

Willow blinked surprised and pulled her finger away studying it then looking at him, she had never before had someone do that and it felt odd though strangely not in a bad way. Wiping it on her shirt she looked at him and smiled taking what he said as a compliment since it probably was one, "Private collection huh? Sounds rather interesting... and that all depends on the type of drink you're talking about"She honestly didn't care what kind of drink he was thinking about, she just felt like teasing him about it.

Marcus could tell that she was going to slightly tease him, it was a way of testing boundaries he guessed as he studied her face a little longer before moving away from her towards the doorway, striding to the kitchen he took the bottle from the icer and two glasses before speaking from the hallway. "Trust you will be following and the range of reading material is extensive."

She watched as he left the room, waiting or a second she shrugged after hearing his voice in the hallway. "But of course I would, after all books are a favorite of mine and I'm curious about your private collection as well." Walking out of the room she easily caught up to him, she had noticed the drink he had grabbed but paid no attention to it. Something interesting was going to happen by the end of the night she knew that much, even if Marcus didn't indicate otherwise it was rather obvious to her. Of course she didn't really mind what ended up happening at the moment, right now she was more focused on learning more about him.

Marcus heard her words and knew that she was intrigued to learn more about him just as he was about her, it was just human nature to be this way and he had made no other plans than to try to get to know her better. Striding down the hallway he could hear her breathing closely behind his as he entered the large bedroom, walking across to the bed he sat down on one edge of it and pressed a small button under the top of his bedside cabinet, pulling open the right right hand side of his room to reveal a large full bookcase.

Willow followed after him making sure to keep up as well as take note on her surrounding, it wouldn't be hard for her to get lost in his house seeing how big it was which was why she was creating mental notes of where everything was. Right as she entered his room her eyes widdened as a bookshelve appeared out of a wall, it wasn't surprising that he could afford such a thing what was surprising was the fact that they were securely hidden behind his wall. It made her start to wonder why he would have the need to hide books when he had such huge libraries in his house already. Turning she studied him and noticed a book on his nightstand which caught her curiousity, "so what did you have in mind for me to read? Or does it not matter?" Marcus was still a mystery to her despite the fact that she had spent a good amount of time near him, maybe if she was lucky she could learn more about him from the workers if she ever had the chance.

Marcus turned as she entered, moving to sit on his side of the large bed that had been handcrafted by himself he studied her facial features. She was in awe but also curious to find out more about him, softly meeting her eyes he smiled as eyes flickered like a candle catching the occasional draft on a pitch black night. "Willow any of them you should find enjoyable, they are more a private collection hence why they are behind the wall."

Willow looked at him for a moment listening to him speak before turning her back to him and walking towards the bookcase, tracing her fingers ever so lightly across the books she studied each and every one of them, Occasionally she'd removed one to study it for a few minutes before replacing it and looking at another one. The type of books he had were amazing, most of them she had never heard of and the ones she knew about were seriously expensive, it made her some what curious on how he had gotten his hands on them all. "Do you wish for me to read out loud or just by myself? I'll have to admit though I don't normally read to someone else, lack of opportunity as well as interest I guess you would say." Pausing she stood on the tips of her toes and reached as far as she could until she pulled out a crimson colored book studying it, it had caught her interest more then the others and she decided to use that book for the time being. If she found it boring she would replace the book and choose another one.

Turning around she studied the room for a moment before taking a seat next to Marcus, for a spit second her eyes fell onto the book on the nightstand next to his bed but despite her curiosity about the particular book she ignored it. From what she could tell it was some sort of journal, something she would have to look into on a day when Marcus was out of the house and not spying on her. Of course, before that she would have to get to know the staff and maybe get a few who would be willing to help her out. Secretly of course, and hopefully he would never find out though she could bet that he was pretty good at figuring things out without needing much information. "How about this one for now? And if you try anything at all I will get up and leave"

Marcus watched her with both curiousity and intent as to what she may choose. Listening intently to her words he smiled and liked how she was searching the shelves for that elusive book like a missing piece of a jigsaw puzzle. Softly chuckling as her eyes had caught sight of the manuscript near his bed he spoke. "I would like you to read out loud."
Taking a few sips of his own drink he picked up the manuscript and made a few more notes on the new page, all in all this piece could be read in time, hell even now it could be but he really wished to finish it first.

Smiling slightly she watched him for a moment before opening the book, she would flip through it silently before going back to the beginning. Sighing softly she began to read out loud, it was a bit odd but she didn't truly mind all that much. For the most part her attention was completely on the book so she wasn't really paying attention to Marcus or anything he may or may not do, she even changed her voice each time she spoke of a different character. After an hour or so Willow closed the book finished with it, "There I read a book out loud."

Marcus relaxed and listened intently to her orating the book, such powerful vocals and tones used just the way they should be at the right time in each part of the book. His manuscript pages were filled up a little more as his eyes sparkled when meeting hers. "So powerfully beautiful that voice you have Willow, such a shame it is not used more." He said genuinely.

Looking at him she blushed slightly as he complimented her, standing quickly she returned the book to its home from where she had grabbed it before turning. "Thanks" Crossing her arms over her chest she studied him silently before sighing softly, "There I read out loud for you and what do you mean by it is a shame my voice is not used more? More how?" After a few minutes Willow would sit back down on the bed and crossed her leg over the other one keeping her arms crossed as well as a decent distance from him, mostly to make it clear that she wasn't interested in currently doing anything with him. As she watched him her eyes fell on his lips which caused her to blush more before looking away, the feeling of his lips pressed against hers was still fresh in her memory.

Marcus's eyes followed her slow movements around the room, even blindfolded he believed she would be able to navigate it. The light questioning tone of the words spoken brought a smile to his face before a sly grin as her cheeks flushed slightly. "Willow I would love you to read out loud more, in fact you should at least twice a day."

Seeing the way he smiled at her caused Willow to blush more, moving away as much as she could Willow drew her legs onto the bed and sat criss-crossed. Looking at Marcus from out of the corner of her eye she would sit there listening to him speak silently, it wasn't like she didn't have anything to say to him because she did but there was always a time for everything and that time wasn't now. Blinking she couldn't help but roll her eyes as he suggested she read out loud twice a day, like that was ever going to happen. But then again who knows, she might do it or might not it really depended on Willow's mood at the time. However, she would be reading quiet a lot considering the amount of books he had in the house. Willow smiled to herself as she thought about all those books and tried to think of how many she could read in a day and wondered how long it would take for her to finish every book Marcus owned, including his more private collection.

Marcus noticed the way she sat and distance that was kept between them both, trust had to be built up over time for this to fully work for both of their benefits. It would have been very easy to pin her down to the floor or bed or wall and have his way with her but she would only hate him more. Standing up slowly he walked across to the doorway and breathed out slowly. "Willow name one book you love reading" he asked.

Watching him Willow's head would tilt to one side as she breathed out slowly, shrugging it off she thought about his question. Laying back on his bed she would fold her arms underneath her head as she closed her eyes for a brief moment before opening them again, "I am not sure, I like a lot of them. Though if I had to pick a favorite I would probably say Pride and Prejudice, or perhaps the House Of Night Series by Kristin Cast. Both are really good, then again when I was younger I was really into the Protector of The Small series and the series after that one." Sitting up she stretched slightly before adjusting her shirt so it would sit properly, "I suppose I have several favorites that I can't pick from. Why do you ask?"

Marcus leaned his muscular tall body against the door frame, studying and intently listening to her words. If his smile was crooked it came at the last of her words, softening it he shone brighter eyes back at hers. "Willow I said I wanted to get to know you better, this is all part of it." Taking one small step into the hallway he spoke. "Relax there until I return."
