Caval was pleased to see how the men took to the events and his declaration on Ivy went. While it was clear many of them were not comfortable with it they were willing to not step up, not cause an issue, to allow Ivy to serve with them for now. All in all though he was pleased and even proud of the men. He had already praised them for surviving the cowardly attack by the British and now they proved they could deal with their world being turned upside down with having a woman in the military. He smiled as he walked amongst them, making comments about how they were swinging their swords, sparring as they were.
Once they broke for lunch Caval did find it tough seeing other men looking at Ivy the way they were. He wondered how many of them possessed similar thoughts to the British from before. While he thoroughly enjoyed her outfit and knew others would to, he would admit to his closest of friends when inebriated that he was a jealous man. That did not make it any easier knowing that about himself to see men ogling Ivy. Then he heard the whistle from the consummate womanizer Gerard. Fuck how he hated that man.
That was one thing by one person he could not abide. So Caval wandered over and began to have a quiet yet terse conversation with Gerard. This conversation clearly wasn't going well and eventually led to Gerard pounding his fist on the table and standing up to make his threat more evident.
Yet Ivy by this point was following the Duke's brother who before he walked out of ear shot of other soldiers turned to look down his aquiline nose at Ivy. "What is it girl? Are you looking to trade up?"
