"Yeah, I know that, Jim." Gene Starwind answered as he settled back in the captain's chair of the Outlaw Star. "You think I don't know that we need a little more money in order to cover for the expenses of this tin can?" He asked. "I mean come on, we just barely came out of that Space Race with our lives intact." He added as he placed his booted feet up onto the control panel.

"Well, listen Gene," said Jim Hawking on the other line of their communication earrings. "We're gonna need to be careful with how we're spending our money. In any case, I got a few jobs lined up for you. I'll transmit them to you right after I get off the line, OK?" He asked.

"Not a problem, Jimbo. Besides, we can use the extra cash." Gene answered with a nod of his crimson haired head before he mved his feet off the control panel and leaned forward a bit in the chair. "In the meantime, I'll talk to ya later, OK? I gotta head over to the cargo area and do some sorting around." He added.

"Gotcha, Gene. I'll see you around!" Jim said as he then hung up the line as indicated by a little bit of static before Gene clicked off the communicator as well. With that, he stood up onto his feet and stretched out a bit with a mighty groan and yawned a bit before he looked from side to side for a bit then began heading for the cargo area.

At the moment, Melfina was most likely out shopping for ingredients for their meals. Suzuka never really told them where she was heading, but nobody really bothered to ask. Of course, that could only leave one other person...the proud Ctarl-Ctarl Aisha Clanclan. Of course, that never really seemed to be the case with her. She had proved to be useful on occasion, though for the most part she was a little immature, making sure to bug Gene whenever she could. It was easy to tell that she was also a little salty about their previous encounters before joinging the crew...

"Lousy customers always..." Her complaints had slowly died into inaudible chatter as she slouched back toward the Outlaw Star. She had come back from yet another one of her odd jobs, with this one being at a cheap fast food place in the area. She was still wearing that ridiculous uniform they made their employees wear, and she was looking to change as soon as possible.

Her walk of shame wouldn't go unnoticed, spotting Gene around the cargo area. She'd have to pass by him into order to get inside. It didn't matter really, as they were usually tossing insults and other comments back and forth to the point where it was perfectly normal. While she had the chance she quickly snuck past him into the shipm suddenly remembering something from before.

Of course, there was that once incident when they had treated her to food and left her with the bill (after shooting her), and she even ran into them at that one restaurant where she was a waitress. Come to think of it, wasn't she taking on all these wacky jobs because of them? How could she have gone from commander in the Ctarl_Ctarl army to this? She'd only recently joined up with them during the Space Race trying to get more information about the Galactic Leyline. Maybe then, there was still that sliver of hope tht she could get her position back, but until then...she'd have to bear with this.

After a quick change, she had popped back outside. With nothing better to do, she figured it wouldn't hurt to bug Gene a little bit. She quickly made her way to the cargo hold, popping her head in unexpectedly. "Looks like you're finally getting up and doing some actually work huh?" she said with a little grin.

A roll of his eyes was all Gene gave as he once again heard the familiar berating from Aisha. To be honest, the two of them often ragged on each other so many times in the past, that it was just simple talking to the other crew members, even moreso when Jim was around who'd just wave it off like it was no big deal before he informed them of the next job available to them. "Geez, Aisha. Haven't you got something else to rag on me about? Besides, I gotta get to work in cleaning this place up. That is, unless if you feel like hanging around in this pigsty all to yourself." Gene answered with an annoyed tone of voice. Oh, how he would love just taking out his Castor pistol and just shooting her in the head once more just to shut her up for a few minutes. But, at least it was better than just hanging around the ship in silence.

"Still, what have you got to bug me about now, Aisha?" Gene answered as he turned atound to face her with a bit of a grumpy look. "Because if it's more of the same bullcrap you've thrown at me before, then I don't feel like hearing it." He added.

She expected this sort of reaction, and of course, it really only served to encourage her further. she did feel like bugging him a little, though her intentions weren't quite as awful this time around. "Hmm? Whatever do you mean oh fearless Captain? Unlike someone we al know, I just got back from a job, pitching in my hard work to get hard-earned cash. Aren't I generous? Praise my generosity!" Once she got started, it was almost hard to get her quiet without shooting her. "But you got one thing correct, this placeis a mess. Far be it from you to actually put time into something like this." she said, crossing her arms proudly over her chest.

"How rude of you! You'll be pleased to hear that I feel like sticking around right now." She didn't let that look of his discourage her. "So don't get your panties in a bunch just cause I'm here. 'Sides, you always look so grumpy when you're all by yourself." The same could be said when she was around.

Oh boy, here we go. Gene thought with another roll of his eyes as a stressed vein pulsed out the side of his head. Honestly, this C'tarl-C'tarl was SUCH a pain in his ass. It made him wonder why he didn't shoot her in the head more often just to keep her quiet. Of course, it would explain that one time when he did just that and stuck her with the restaurant bill from a while back. Just the look on her face as she got back from it was just absolutely priceless. As a matter of fact, just the thought of it alone caused Gene to laugh a bit to himself as he then moved to one of the boxes in the room and looked it over from the top of it to the label, pondering what was its contents before he found out what it was.

"Ah, here we go." Gene said as he then picked the box up into his hands and then began to cart it onto one side of the cargo bay. "You know, instead of carrying on like you already on, how about you help me out with this stuff?" He asked.

For the most part, it seemed he just ignored her little rant. It didn't matter to her though. Whatever they could do to bug the other was more than enough. Her large cat-like ears twitched slightly as she picked up his laughter. "What's so funny? Did I say something weird?" she asked, placing her hands at her hips. Hopefully he wasn't thinking of those embarrassing moments where she had to work to pay off those bills.

She quickly made her way over, looking over the boxes curiously. "Well, all you had to do was ask." She lifted up the lids of some of them. "What in the world you have stuck in these things anyway?" she asked. A little lifting wouldn't bug her at all. Being a Ctarl-Ctarl gave her more dexterity and natural strength. She lifted one of the boxes with ease, following him. "Where are we bringing these anyway?"

"Nah, I was just thinking of something funny." Gene lied with a straight faced smile as he set the first box down onto the floor on the other side of the cargo bay. Of course he ignored Aisha's little tantrum. He had gotten so used to it by now that instead of just reacting to it, he decided to just let her blow off some steam however and whenever possible. Besides, it wouldn't do any good now if he just bickered with her about it.

"As for what's inside, I'm sorting out the essentials from the nonessentials. Ammunition, food and whatever else is important from other stuff." He added as he went over to the next box and looked it over from the label. When he found out what it was, he picked that up next and hauled it over to another side of the room.

Aisha figured it would be best to ignore his little comment. She simply followed him to the other side as she brought the boxes over, occasionally peaking inside just to see if she could find something interesting. There were a grat deal of boxes in this cargo hold, so it was likely to take them a while to get it all sorted out. "Grr...I can't believe I volunteered to help out with this." she muttered to herself. "A waste of a Ctarl-Ctarl's strength if you ask me." Of course, nothing was going to come out of this if she was complaining all day. Beside, this was probably a lot better than being at that fast food place right now. Having a great deal of nagging customers and a boss that liked to pick on you wasn't too fun at all.

Gene caught Aisha peeking into the boxes, all of which caused him to get a little bit aggravated with her. "Hey. Don't peek into those things. God forbid if you find something radioactive in there. Ya trying to get us killed in here?" He asked in the same manner of voice. "Just look on the labels to find out what it is, and if you see one of those crates that has a yellow triangle with an exclamation point on it, leave that alone. Don't touch it, don't go near it. Got it?" He instructed as he went over to the next box in the room and looked at that label.

Aisha was a little annoyed with his words. Can't a girl be a little curious. After all, she had only just got here, and she didn't know her way completely around the ship just yet. "Radioactive? If you had something like that, I figure it would've gone kablooie a long time ago. And I'm not some little kid all right? I know what not to touch!" She pouted a little as she continued to sort out the boxes. "Just trying to make work a little more fun..." she grumbled to herself.

Gene blinked for a moment when he heard Aisha's reaction. He thought about throwing a smart-assed remark her way, but instead thought better of it for now. Instead, he just decided to work despite he was subjected to more and more of Aisha's rantings and ramblings. "Just make sure you leave the marked stuff alone, alright?" He asked before he rolled his eyes once more as he looked at one more label and left that box alone. "OK, not touching that one." He muttered to himself before he stood straight up and walked over to the next box in the room then looked at that label next.

Once he found out that was safe to pick up, Gene leaned in and picked up that box, finding it a little bit heavier than the others but picked it up easily then moved over to the same corner of the room before he settled back on the wall for a moment, deciding on taking a little break for now.

Aisha was still a little annoyed with his comment earlier. Sure, she was a little immature every now and then, but she knew what she was doing. Then again her personality was a little difficult to adjust to at the moment. She just continuing her work in silence, providing for an odd atmosphere in the cargo hold.

Right around the same time as Gene, she figured it would be best to take a little break. They were almost finished, and they could probably do the rest before everyone came back if they were quick enough. Aisha let out a soft yawn as she rested up against the side of the room. "Ah...now's the perfect time to get a little cat nap, wouldn't you say?" she asked, letting out a pleasant sigh.

Soon enough, Gene settled down into a sitting position against the wall and pushed his feet outward before leaning his head down. It had been a while since he had done any reorganizing in this part of the ship, and since he doesn't come here often, it seemed as though it needed some cleaning up. His other thought was possibly dropping by here more often to clean it out a little more often but with some help. Gene obviously couldn't do it all by himself, that much was obvious.

"Yeah, why not? Besides, we've been workin' hard enough in this thing so now would be a great time to break for a little rest and maybe even some lunch. After that, we'll come on back in here and get back to work." Gene answered when he heard Aisha ask her question.

Aisha let out another little yawn as she stretched out. she was sitting in a rather similar position to him, unintentionally of course. She took her napping seriously, so she wasn't going to copy him for no reason there. However, she did flash him a little grin, looking rather amused with his words.

"Well, it sounds like we actually agree on something for once." she said, laying back once more. "And now that you've mentioned it, you're treating me to lunch, no arguing your way out of this." she said. With that, she hadslowly drifted off to sleep. who knew when exactly she would get up, but if it was for food, she'd get up on cue.

"Alright, alright." Gene answered with a wave of his hand. "Just go ahead and get some rest now before I pop another Castor round into your head." He added teasingly before giving a chuckle of his own before he pushed his legs out a little further so that his shoulders were squared against the metal of the wall and stretched out a bit before he relaxed a bit. "Give it about a half hour, eh?" Gene asked as he eventually fell asleep against the wall some time later.

(Had this little idea...)

For the most part, they were both undisturbed. Nobody had gone by in the time they slept, as Melfina was still out somewhere, and nobody knew where Suzuka was... A half an hour had finally passed, though if Gene were to wake up, he would notice that Aisha was not in the cargo hold at the moment. Wherever she went was anyone's guess.

(Oh? Whatever it is, it's got me curious. XD)

In the half hour that passed, Gene would eventually awaken from his short nap, stretching himself out a little bit before his eyes eventually opened, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes and feeling a tad more refreshed. When he glanced around, he found that Aisha wasn't there. "Hm. Looks like I'll be eating out alone." Gene muttered to himself as he then stood up onto his feet before heading out of the cargo bay and back out into the main hallway.

(Nothing too big. I originally planned for her to be next to him when he woke up...)

Little did he know was that he was actually being watched the entire time. Even as he left the cargo hold, he'd probably feel this odd feeling that there was someone else, though he wouldn't see them. This would continue out until he was in the main hallway, when...

"Aha! Gotcha!" That voice sounded familiar. Seemingly from out of nowhere, the familiar Ctarl-Ctarl had 'pounced' at him from above, looking to land on his back. Of course she wouldn't forget anything about the lunch, especially if she was getting treated.

When he heard nothing, Gene raised a hand up to his head for a moment and itched it when he still couldn't find hide or hair of Aisha anywhere. It was odd that she up and disappeared on him like that, but then again, what wasn't weird of her to do anything? Just when he thought he was going to take a step towards the exit hatch however, his eyes widened suddenly when he heard a rather familiar voice from above him then stopped in place.

Looking up to the ceiling, Gene spotted Aisha coming down at him from high above, looking pounce on him. He barely had any time to get out of the way and was pretty much stuck there like a deer in the headlights of an oncoming truck. Before he knew it, Gene was driven to the floor by the Amazonian-sized C'tarl-C'tarl, landing hard on his back, torquing it a bit and whacked the back of his head against the floor with a grunt. Luckily, it wasn't enough to knock him out, but damn did it hurt!

"OW!" Gene yelled out once he hit the floor before he lifted a hand up and rubbed the back of his head for a moment then took his hand back, wondering it he was cut there. Luckily for him, it wasn't but he still gave Aisha a rather annoyed look. "Now I know you're trying to kill me." He eventually spoke.

In all honesty, this had turned out much differently in Aisha's head. she was expecting him to be able to hold his ground and catch her piggyback style. Course, she hadn't quite thought this through enough. She grunted softly as she hit the ground, of course her fall was cushioned my Gene.

Even she looked a little concerned as he tended to his head. After all, that was a really nasty sound it made when it hit the ground. That look he gave her was enough to send a little chill up her spine. "W-wha?! Time out! I was expecting you to catch me, so it's not entirely my fault. Besides, you took so long to wake up, so I had to do something to wake you up fully."

She quickly moved off of him though, knowing he wouldn't want her there for too long. "How about this? To show that I'm really sorry, I won't buy as much food when we go out for lunch. Sounds fair to me." she said, not even looking for his imput on the matter.

"Yeah? Well I wasn't fully awake yet, ya jackhole!" Gene answered with a clenched fist and shook it at Aisha as she got up off of him before he got up next, the back of his head still smarting from whacking it so hard. After a little bit, Gene eventually shook his head and emitted a sigh before he looked at her once more before walking over to her front and bent forward a little bit. "Alright, let's try that again, eh?" He offered to the C'tarl-C'tarl with a few gestures of his hands. "Once you're on, we'll head on out. But in trade, I'll let you pick the place. How's that sound?" He added.

She couldn't help but chuckle a little seeing him all riled up like this. She still tried her best to look like the innocent one, though it was clear she was far from that image. She watched with curiousity as he moved in front of her, bending over just a little bit. "Wait...are you serious?" she asked. If all had gone well, she would have gotten off after, but if he was offering, then she couldn't pass it up. "Well, this will make it more fun then!" she said, quickly hopping onto his back. If anyone else in the crew saw this, they'd think they were dreaming. "Well, that sounds like a plan to me."

A grunt was given when Aisha hopped up onto his back, making him bend forward a bit more due to her overall height. Not for nothing, but she had to be at least a head taller than he was and probably weighed just as much! Still, at least she was now up on his back and once his hands had now locked themselves into place around her waist, Gene began piggybacking Aisha out of the ship into the noon air.

Within the first ten minutes of the two walking into the harbor, Gene began looking around for a place the two of them could get something to eat in through Aisha's decision. He had honestly hoped it would be soon before he was spotted by someone on the crew. Last thing he needed to deal with was someone looking at him weird all because he had Aisha up on his back. Well, not like Suzuka would mind, anyway. Seemed to him that she had done so many things in her profession that it hardly needed any merit.

It would still be a weird sight nonetheless, as the crew was so used to seeing the two of them at each other's necks. She didn't seem to be too worried about that though, only thinking with her stomach right now. As much as possible, she tried to steer him away from the fast food place she worked at.

"I think I know just the place. There's supposed to be this really good rice and noodle place nearby. I hear they have all you can eat, so it's all goog right?" At least he wouldn't have to pay for every new bowl she got, like when they had first treated her. "In fact...there it is right there! Now get a move on! the food's not gonna eat itself!" she said, clapping her heels against his sides as though he were a horse.

"Ow, ow, ow!" Gene sounded out when he felt Aisha's heels clapping against his sides before he aimed a glare up at her. "Alright, alright!" He added as he then moved over to the direction of the rice and noodle shop Aisha pointed him out towards despite he was a little bit aggravated that she was egging him on like some kind of horse. This woman is gonna be the death of me, I swear! He thought as a bead of sweat rolled over the front of his head.

"And hey, if it is All You Can Eat, then hey, I'm game. Besides, I think I can probably chow down on one of you and sleep happy for the rest of the night!" Gene teased, looking up to her and poking his tongue out at her.
