I'm opening this partially out of genuine curiosity and partially in a shameless effort to put out enough posts that I can get verification. Is there any special story behind your username? Mine is a combination of the fact that Alexander Graham Bell wanted the standard phone greeting to be "Ahoy hoy," which amuses me greatly, and the famous scene from No Country for Old Men in which Anton Chigurh has a tense conversation with a man running a gas station

Pretty simple.

Character is named Alice because it's one letter away from Malice and Villainess because that's the role I specialize in!

I'm named after the pokemon move. My email/discord handle that i use for roleplaying (venomdrenched) is also derived from a pokemon move. I also use PoisonPowder as a handle, which also comes from the same place. I guess you could call it a theme I have for my current era.

Probably told this on the site somewhere, but:

Wanted my name to be short, simple, reflect on some character type I like to play as/against and preferably be a word in Japanese.

My first pick, Ojou-sama was taken, so I rubbed my two braincells together and settled with Baka. Nod to a tsundere-archetype which I like to play as/against and reflects the player behind the username quite well (Baka meaning idiot or stupid) and fits with every criteria I set for the username.

If I had used more time to come up with an username I would've probably come up with something better (like my favorite Japanese word, which is Magukappu), but this is what I ended up with.

There's already a thread like this here, but to engage with the thread subject;

It's pretty self-explanatory, I feel like. I'm a huge Persona fan, starting with the "contemporary" Persona 3 that completely rehauled the game series as a whole. In that game, the theme of "Memento Mori" - remember to die/remember you are mortal - is a big part of the story. It is a part of a motifs, of many of the character stories and the overall plot. It came out in a time where the idea of mental health was first starting to gain traction. Depression is a big part of the story and the game as a whole gives you a perspective as to why it is that life is beautiful, even when there is a lot of pain and suffering involved.

"Memento Mori" was already taken, so I went for its more positive answer to the philosophy - "Carpe Diem", or seize the day. It means living each day as if it was the last. Living to the fullest, because you never know what day will be your last.

I just really like alliteration and went with the first thing that made sense within the context of a writing site :D

I just wanted a cool sounding name. I've always liked the word Revelation(s) so it was a natural fit. idk, its just a fun word.

Pretty simple really. My name's Nadia, and I wanted to makw something funny out of it, and so Nadiabusiness was born!

Pretty sure I've answered this before, probably from the link provided by Carpe Diem above. My username on BMR is in reference to a soul type (basically a zodiac) from Fear and Hunger & It's sequel F&H2: Termina. I chose the Endless Soul specifically because my DoB lands in the Endless Souls' birth dates and in the games' own description: "the soul of the endless that makes you yearn for freedom and forces you to push your creativity to its limits."

As someone who has enjoyed creative writing for years, and is actively working on a manuscript, I think it fits me pretty well.

Is Carpe Diem not the third part of the adage?

"Memento Mori, Memento Vieri, Carpe Diem."
"
Remember you will die, Remember to live, Seize the Day."

Maybe in some interpretations, but "Carpe Diem" comes from a poem by Horace, with the full quote being "carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero", or "pluck the day, trusting as little as possible in the next one". meaning to make the most of each day. The three phrases sort of translate a similar idea, but they don't mean the same thing, so it makes sense that someone would put them together.

i daydream all the time, so i decided it was a very fitting username.
i am also often a bit. . . lost, so again, very fitting!

Makes sense to me. I'm one of those arseholes who really enjoyed P2:IS and EP. I think 3's probably my favourite of the modern trilogy, though.

I enjoy historical topics. Echo and Narcissus happens to be a favourite. Like Medusa, Echo had been cursed by a jealous goddess, (depending on the telling of the tale one hears), but is cursed to repeat the last words of others... Sadly, she falls in love with Narcissus, who is only in love with himself, something relatable that most people endure...

Anyway, that's why I went with it... to be a whisper of the past...

I was watching the Wizard of Oz yesterday and it just came to mind
Love that movie. 'tis a good name *nods*

Mine is a name I chose for myself when I started experimenting with my transition after creating a superhero character whose hero name was three tiered pun based on her name, the name of a car, and her gender status. Trans-Am... which I almost used that name, but just decided to stick with Amity.
