In the world of Terraria, humans live amongst the supernaturals but they hide out of fear. Being discovered as a human resulted in living the life of slavery, especially in the kingdom of Blythe. This kingdom is ruled over by a terrible man that is only known to those around him as Apocalypse. He is a man who takes no prisoners, and cares not about those around him. Either you are loyal to him or you are killed. Humans that live within Blythe are either there as slaves to the many supernaturals that live there, or they are hiding amidst the shadows hoping that they didn't get caught. Being a human in Blythe, in general, was a very dangerous thing and would most likely lead to your death. Especially if you disobeyed Apocalypse himself; even if you had a master... the Lord's word was always law above all else. If he told you to do something even with your master standing right there, your best chances at survival were to just go and do what he said.
A young woman with long platinum blonde hair sat staring out the window of the castle, just humming softly as she ran her fingers through her hair. Piercing green eyes were just locked on what was happening outside – watching the guards that were outside train with another. The young woman in question just so happened to be a human but she was the one human that Apocalypse allowed freedom, for the most anyways. She wasn't allowed to leave the palace without a guard, and she wasn't allowed to leave the city whatsoever. She did have quite the relationship with a number of the civilians within the city – despite the fact that she was a human. After a bit she was standing up from the chair that she was sitting in so that she could leave the bedroom, grabbing onto the veil that was handing up by the door. She was grabbing the black veil and just draping it over her head so that she could hide her features before she was leaving the room.
It was perhaps a bit strange to see a human within the kingdom treated so kindly by the madman that was Apocalypse - but she was most definitely a special existence to that of the madman. And that was only because - she was the daughter of a woman that he had once loved and hated so dearly long ago. A woman who he had been madly in love with but she had turned against him when he had descended into his spiral of madness. She hadn't wanted to be apart of that madness which lead to her leaving and just disappearing - making her own life and starting her own family. Apocalypse had eventually founded her and slaughtered her right before the yes of her young daughter, the young daughter that he had soon taken under his wing. A constant reminder of the woman who had turned against him, but a reminder of the woman that he had once loved. And he knew that the girl wasn't fully a human - there was innate magic that was sealed away within her - it was just a matter of it unlocking.
After all she was the daughter of the former queen of Aetherial, the one and only kingdom that had once stood against Blythe. And the only kingdom that could still stand against Blythe, but those within the kingdom had all taken to hiding after the death of their king and queen, and the young princess just disappearing into nothingness. A belief that she had also been killed by that of the madman. Now at twenty-one, the platinum blonde haired woman was still residing within the palace under the wing of Apocalypse. His daughter. Or that is what she had grown up to believe for the longest time. But she had learned that it was a lie, learning from people who had figured out who she was.
But she was playing stupid and acting as though she knew anything - making Apocalypse believe that she was just some pathetic little human that knew nothing. She also didn't even allow him to know that she had in fact unlocked her magical abilities; that she had mastered them fairly quickly. Wordless spellcasting was her speciality - a feat that most magic users couldn't do. They were needing to read from books, they were needing to use a spellbook. But when you were the daughter of the deceased Silent Soreceress - who had once been the most powerful magic user in existence - things were far different.

As this was happening, one of Apocalypse's generals was walking into the throne room having just finished up a mission that he had been assigned. A mission to deal with a few rogue soldiers that had tried to turn against Apocalypse. Idiots. Especially when the madman of a king was a fearsome warrior, terrifyingly so. Put a sword in his hand and he became a killing machine - yet that was truly something that not many people had been able to witness. Yet again most of those people didn't survive for long at all. "My lord. It has been dealt with. It would seem that Aetherial has been spotted as well." Roman was speaking as he looked at the king. Aetherial. The only kingdom that could oppose Blythe. A city that floated in the sky, held aloft by powerful magics that had been weaved together so long ago. The city itself had been around even after the death of the king and queen so long ago, but it hadn't been this close to the main kingdom in quite some time. And they were aware of people escaping to that city so that they could hide away. Even supernaturals were turning against Apocalypse, spiriting humans away to safety. A place that even Apocalypse couldn't touch at the time. And that was even with Emeline on their side - yet as far as they all knew, she hadn't unlocked her powers at all.
