How often do you edit your RT?

Here's something that came up while talking with a friend and I wanted to hear other people's opinions on.

When browsing the RT sections I often come across threads that have recently been bumped, but which was last edited months if not years ago; on the other hand, I've noticed that some people like to overhaul their requests on an almost weekly basis. How often do you update your thread(s)? Do you just set and forget until someone reaches out, or do you keep adding and tweaking with every bump?

Personally, I have a habit of jotting my entire request down in a single night and keep the main text more or less the same throughout its lifespan, but I do frequently adjust things like the title and formatting in hopes I reach a broader audience with essentially the same message. I've only ever properly overhauled a thread if it's for a craving I haven't touched for a while and have renewed interest in, like adding new fandoms to my FxF canon thread that hadn't been bumped for nearly a year.

Conversely, when I click on a thread on the front page but see Last edited: June 6, 2019 at the bottom, I tend to assume that the OP is no longer interested in the ideas they listed, and click away before actually going through that list. Does anyone feel the same way, and if so, how long is long enough for the RT to be "out of date"?

I usually do a huge overhaul once or twice a year, depending when I want to change the aesthetic or do some bigger changes. My next goal is to make my RT look good in both dark/light themes of the site, since I think that I have managed to get responsivity nailed, but will wait till I have few other big changes lined-up before I overhaul the whole thing... Or when I get bored of my current aesthetic or come up a better one.

I also wait a handful of smaller additions, fixes, removals etc. to gather on my plate, since working with bbcode can be a chore at times, and I don't want to start an hour long troubleshooting-session in case bbcode decides to screw itself over after I added one fandom or plot-seed. Not worth the hassle so I just do multiple changes at a time.

As for when I consider the thread being "out of date" it really depends. I generally assume that if the thread is bumped and not edited the person is still interested in the ideas presented in them abd would just go with the vibe I get from the RT and the potential partner... With the exception if it has stuff like "WIP" or "More info will be added soon" and mostly consists of plain text and images, since something about extremely simple RT that has been work in progress for half a decade rubs me the wrong way. I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt in other cases, since for example I have cravings that I have searched for many many years, and the person might still be looking that one person to fulfill that said craving.

I tend to run through my story ideas every time I bump it to make sure they all still interest me. If they don't, I remove or replace that story with something that's more exciting to me in that moment. As for full-scale aesthetics, whenever something tickles me and inspires me to create around it.
