A Forced Arrangement (Russian_Vodka and Marie Massacre)

The scout accepted her wish to be alone with her father to tell the news. He waited outside the door, not hearing a word of what was said but once they had been given half an hour of talk, he opened the door, stepping inside as he knew that she would break the most important news instantly. If only he knew what it would be, he could plan accordingly to it all, but he would after all be watching Mikhail closely and he would know what the fuss was all about eventually.

Mercy left walking around the city. Mostly vampires. This was their capital city. So it was populated with vampires. And most everyone knew her. Everyone knew that she had always had a perfectly flat stomach. Now a small bump was barely visible. Undetectable unless you'd known her prior and really looked closely.

The scout had people below him in the chain of command, they were watching her from safe distances and without letting her know that they were there, their only objective was to keep her from interacting with any friends or aqaintances, and they were to apprehend Mikhail if the two engaged in combat or anything else. It was their only tasks and other than that, they were to keep her safe.

Mercy did not understand why she could not see her friends. It was like she was a criminal who was under constant survailance. And she was about to lose her mind. She stormed into their home. "This is unfair treatment! I'm being treated like a damn criminal! I can't see friends. I can barely see family! This is like prison!" Mercy spat. She knew he was sitting in front of her. She could smell him. Her sense of smell was greatly increased.

Marco was in the house, waiting for her to return as he stood up, walking past her. "It is a prison for both of us." He replied, hardly seeming bothered with her problems. "But there is nothing we can do against it." He said, knowing it was true, the treaty could not be broken anyone except them. And he didn't want to see the peace shattered because she felt it was like a prison.

"Why are we not allowed to see our friends?" Mercy asked. "Do they expect us only to see each other for the rest of our lives? Because this arrangement will not work! I refuse to be a prisoner in my own city!" She was pacing angrily. He walking stick in front of her as to not hurt herself.

Mikhail had just recieved the news, sitting on his proch. He could hardly comprehend that he was going to be a father. But he wouldn't tell anyone. He couldn't risk it getting out.

Marco grabbed her arms and pulled her in close. "Calm down!" He snapped at her, refusing to see her so upset. "You know we both do this for the sake of peace, is it not a worthy sacrifice?" He asked her, wanting to hear her honest opinion on the matter.

"At the sacrifice of everything I ever cared about? Everything I ever loved? How am I supposed to feel?" Mercy asked. Her hormones already going crazy. She had lost everything in this. A family that loved her. A man who treated her like a queen. The father of her unbone child. Which by know is was possibly to heart the second heartbeat radiating from her. "I don't know..."

"If there weren't people who would commit the sacrifice, it would never happen." Marco told her, knowing she was confused. "I've been forced to give up on everything too. Hell! I don't even live near my father or brothers!" He replied, just holding her close, keeping her steady as he wanted her to calm down, he still didn't know about her child but he certainly hadn't been anywhere near feeling it either.

Mercy sighed, a proective measure, damn near instinct, he hands went to her stomach, resting on it. One hand, her fingers running through her hair. She didn't want to be here, but she had no choice. I should have been anyone but her. She never wanted this. Any of this. Except maybe the child.

Marco didn't want it either as he just held her, a hand moving on top of her hand on her stomach, wanting to comfort her as he kissed the back of her head softly, he was surprised that he didn't try to attack her or stay away from her, but he felt drawn to her for some weird reason and he was starting to blame her hormones for that, she was after all a damn attractive vampire, even with a child in her belly.

Mercy almost felt awkward as he placed his hand on top of her's, comforting her. She was beginning to think this child had some sort of powers. As he was keeping everyone fairly calm. Even her. When she was just so angry. She looked down at her stomach, shaking her head a bit.

Marco didn't seem bothered by it as he watched her. She seemed to be worrying about her stomach and he did feel a slight bump through her hand as he wondered if she was gaining weight or if something else was wrong. He had absolutely no clue that she was with a child.

Mercy looked back at him, she didn't want this marriage. Especially now that she knew she was with a child. She could not believe he was so oblivious that he could not feel the child, or children's heartbeats. As she felt two. So she knew he had to feel that either her heart was pumping three times as fast as normal.

Marco had been oblivious to his senses in those moments. He wanted her to feel happy and safe even if something felt wrong. But right there, everything seemed right to him, it was like nothing seemed wrong in those moments, as long as she was in his arms.

Mercy slowly leaned back against him. Trying not to smile as she felt the little heart beats, beating against her hand. She just wanted them to come sooner. She had always wanted to be a mother. But she didn't want them to have the same blindness she did. That was her only hope, that they did not turn out like her and have the defect.

Marco felt her lean in against him, kissing her just behind her ear softly as he noticed her smile, slowly realising the reason because as she leaned in on him, he felt a small vibration through her back from something that wasn't her's. His eyes widened for a moment before he relaxed, not seeming bothered. The children in her stomach would probably never know their real father even though he did feel a bit bad about it. But the treaty didn't allow him to let Mikhail know.

"So you finally realized eh? I'm about two months along. That's why I left today. I asked my father to tell Mikhail, but I did not realize I was bearing twins," Mercy whispered. She shivered a bit, these children were giving her temperature changes that she didn't like. She had been freezing since she woke up.

"I didn't realise it before just now. I know I'm a bit slow." Marco replied, deciding to ignore the fact that she had mentioned Mikhail only because he knew that she wasn't allowed anywhere near him. He held her close to him still, knowing she would easily feel the heat of his body as he held her close to him.

Mercy enjoyed the heat his body put off. Her skin so cold to the touch. But then it was natural as she wasn't living to icy cold skin. But her feeling of the temperature was much warmer. She relaxed a bit in his arms. She felt extremely tired for whatever reason. But she would stay up, she wasn't used to being up at miday. So it threw her off a bit,

Marco held her there, feeling her relax in his arms as he held her. He didn't seem to notice her being tired at first but then it struck him as she seemed a bit heavier than before and he quickly swept her up in his arms. "I think you need to sleep." He told her, not seeming bothered by carrying her to the bedroom as he wanted her to be happy and safe, not tired and easily annoyed.

Mercy smiled, he was actually taking care of her. Almost being concerned. It was surprising. She kind of like it though. Relaxing against him, falling asleep before they even made it to the bedroom. Falling asleep in his arms as he carried her. She had finally managed to calm herself down, or rather the children seemed to calm her nerves for her.

Marco was confused about it as well. They had been deemed arch enemies through battling each other for so many years, but here he was suddenly: carrying his vampire wife to the bedroom so she could rest. He realised soon that she had fallen asleep in his arms but he only smiled at it, not seeming much bothered by it as he gently put her down on the bed, pulling the covers up over her before he left her, getting a glass of water to be ready for when she woke up if she wanted something to drink.

Mercy couldn't help it, the children were draining her energy. She slept for a good couple hours, waking up. And rolling to her side. She wasn't sure if she wanted to get up or not. But she probably should. She felt so lazy for sleeping all the time. Not to mention, she hadn't been able to work out at all. She usually at least got to work out some. She knew she was going to get big, and she dreaded it. She dreaded being unable to see her feet. And gaining all the weight.

Marco didn't seem bothered by her sleeping, he went by doing his usual stuff with just relaxing and occassionally doing a bit of excercise to keep his body in shape. He felt perfect for doing so as he could never imagine himself without working out to keep in shape.
