"It's the start of the day. I'll keep an eye out for it, but my work comes first. "Kay Ethan?"

Empty was the depths of the void of which took the place of his soul upon hearing the name of another come while her attention was set solely on him. Unbeknownst to Ethos' consciousness was the smoldering embers climbing from within the depths of his heart, summoned by her choice of words and her lack of a smile which made him believe that her choice of title was beyond accidental; That it was intentional and malicious, though now was not the time for a squabble. There were tasks he needed to handle; Distractions were nothing more than that: Distractions. Taking a moment to listen to Esther's words before he left, the sound of intercom static that came before an announcement had rung through the room, drawing the attention of the Concordant's inhabitants.

"I would love to but I'm afraid—" Bzzzt. "What now?"

Instead of having to meet with the overseer, they were delivered their orders through an announcement. Oddly enough, his eyes twitched at the cracked sound of each syllable, as though the voice behind the radio annoyed him. Still, orders were orders. He was tasked with reviewing the footage of whatever occurred over the past day before being assigned a new task. "It looks like we'll be having to put the search for Raya's jacket to a pause for now." Thinking about it, given his lack of knowledge on the area as well as his desire to assist the other members onboard with their search, he realized that the position he was in allowed him to figure out the potential whereabouts of where her prized possession was. Whether it was taken by someone else or misplaced, he would be the first to know about it. Turning to the others, the guard offered another way of helping.

"If I'm responsible for the security footage, then I think I'll be able to find where the jacket could be while working." Looking to the other guys who were prepared to search, he placed a hand on Kieran's shoulder. "Leave this to me and focus on your tasks for now. If I find any clues, I'll be sure to let you all know." Before leaving, the security officer glared at Cass who shot him a smile that didn't quite match the tone she delivered him.

"Well, would ya look at that? Time to get to work, buddy boy."

"The name's Ethos by the way. Not Ethan." Sighing as he walked past her towards the exit of the medical bay, Ethos was aware that his name wasn't the most common. "Try not to get that wrong. You're an engineer, I'm sure you're smart enough not to forget that much."

"Ahhhhh bugger. I was waitin' for that." Why though? Why does that voice feel so familiar... He smirked at the two men who were going to aid him, first the volunteer, then the voluntold. "I guess I'm headed to the bridge, wherever that is now. And I'm guessin' ye have your own places be sure. But we should still take a look for that jacket when we get the chance. Sorry but I don't like the idea of stuff going missing around here. Checking the cameras is a good idea Ethos. Let us know if you find anything sure." Kieran reached up and ran his hand along the side of his head, gently brushing against the gold ring dangling from his right ear. The Captain had either failed to notice it, or was a bigger asshole than the first impression the man had left on Kieran would indicate. It's there, right? I did feel my earring there didn't I? Either way it didn't matter. Like Raya, his jewelry was staying put until the Captain himself had something to say. "String bean and I will keep hunting when we have the chance." He voluntold Vincent he was assisting again, not giving the man a chance to object or even interject. Like so many other things, it just felt... familiar.

Raya's mumbled words had reached Kieran's ears, causing him to smile ever so slightly even though he couldn't explain why it did. He turned to walk back to her, crouching down so they were at eye level with each other as he extended his hand.
"Sorry Miss Raya, but I hadn't thought the good doctor here had pronounced you ready to serve after tha' beating your head took. But who am I to argue? Sorry you were acting like you had a bit of the drink in ya. So if it's alright with you, I'll accompany you the bridge just to make sure you make it there now."

Esther hopped into gear as the announcement finished and quickly glanced over at the clock on the wall. 6:49am. Everyone seemed to be moving on and she figured it would be best if she did as well. The packed everything away, locking cabinets up and proceeded to turn around towards Raya and Kieran, who seemed to be lingering. “I’m going to get a move on, I suggest you people do the same. Raya, try to stay on your feet, if the stitches bother you let me know. Sit out on training today and take a shower.”

Esther put away her stethoscope and hung up the coat and passed all the others to step into the hallway and moved towards her own little private living pod, sighing as she stepped into the small space that consisted of a bed, a small space for storage, a vent to circulate fresh air into the pod and a mirror hanging on a closet door. Everything was white and sterile, but it was home. Or was it?

A small framed photograph stood on a small shelf, but the three people had their faces removed, instead there was just a blackened stain. She tilted her head and sighed.

She groaned as she stood to look at herself in the mirror, the dull uniform color made her look tired and pale, something Esther wasn’t thrilled about. But she had always known this damned uniform and worn it with no issues. Or maybe she had voiced an opinion, but it was just never acknowledged.

She opened her closet and pulled out another uniform that was designed for their physical training in Bay 002. She quickly changed and pulled a towel as well and headed back out, draping the towel over her shoulder as she made her way through the hallway with the white fluorescent lights above her, making eye contact with the cameras bulbs. Waving sarcastically to whoever may be watching.
