@Archmagos Issac The incoming damage was 8 with no AP. You have 7 Resilience. That leaves 1 remaining damage that will go to Wounds. Rolling determination can allow you to convert that wound to Shock instead and Determination as a player costs nothing to use so you absolutely should roll Determination.

Exceptions might be if you are near to full Shock and don't want to become fatigued/exhausted, then you might skip determination and take the hit to wounds.

For note to everyone else, Talshi absolutely plans on Grappling/Disarming Solicia I just didn't want to jump ahead and cut off the damage/reaction to the las shot and such.

Yeah probably wise for me to roll determination. Narratively I feel like the lasbolt would certainly have an impact but I don't imagine it would hurt him. Maybe put him on his ass

Rolling Determination is basically doing just that. Wounds converted to shock are a combination of "Oh this just glanced off my armor" and "This caused me mental stress or concern" versus taking the wound and actually having the strike draw blood.
