W&G: The Inquisitor's Speartip (OOC)

I had meant to ask a while back but it had slipped my mind, is this all theater of the mind or do we have an actual map of these encounters to work with? I'm assuming a little bit of column A and a little bit of column B

Thus far it's been both. The opening combat had a map because it was rather complicated. The chapel fight did not have a map because it was just 3 plaguebearers and shouldn't have taken very long.

Yes as DreamCrusher said I'll add maps for important/complex fights. This one will be theater of the mind too as it's just four Palace Guards and those will not be a problem(unlike three Plaguebearers apparently)

Turn order:
Talshi :5
Vak: 3
Scions: 3
Khanzhar: 2
Flagg: 2
Palace Guard 2: 2
Augie: 1
Palace Guard 4: 1
Palace Guard 1/3: 0

I'll get the post edited when I get the chance to describe the room itself and let Talshi take his turn

Most of the time you will never run out of ammo. Ammo only gets used if you roll a complication for it or if you use a salvo attack.

Also worth noting that ammo isn't an entirely nebulous resource. You do have to specify the ammo type. Talshi has Flamer ammo, so he couldn't give that to Flagg for her Volley Gun because it's a different type. If your trike has 20 ammo then you need to allocate what kinds exactly you are carrying.

Some weapons of course would share ammo types, bolt weapons sharing for example but yeah got a bit of a mix here

Flamer fuel for Talshi
Hotshot power packs and Plasma cells for Flagg
Las power packs for Augie
Bolt rounds and ion cells for Vak

So 6 different ammo types

Good point. Plus the autocannon on the Trike making that 7 different ammo types. Hmm. Even if he has 2 ammo for each it still leaves space for 6 more ammo types

EDIT: I think I will make those last 6 ammo an even split between ion and plasma since they are for side arms which would ostensibly make them a bit smaller anyway

Ah yes forgot the trike itself had a hull mounted gun.

Post has been edited with what Talshi and the party see as they burst in.

For some more specifics of the layout. nobleman on his knees, one guard holding him down on one side, another on his other side powering up his weapon to fire. A little closer to the doors and a few meters to the right is a guard who is aiming his gun at the foppish man, who himself is a couple of meters in front of this guard(to the right from the parties pov). The furthest guard is the one Talshi just swung around and killed, and the noblewoman is a couple of meters in front of Talshi.

I'm assuming there is furniture or debris that can be used for cover. Would Vak be able to use Persuasion to convince the Guards to drop their guns for a chance of not being brutally killed by a lizardman with impulse control issues?

A nearby pillar could serve as some light cover.

As for a check to get them to stand down you can certainly try. Just won't be clear if it's worked before it gets to their turn.

Edit: Well no, it'd be an opposed check so you would see right away if it has worked or not.

Just for clarity, Talshi doesn't normally have issues keeping himself in check. However, due to his objective roll, I've been playing it up as he has been far too long without an... encounter and thus is having trouble controlling himself.

He should be a bit more mellowed with other objective rolls.

Lol I figured Talshi isn't normally this way. Vak likely wouldn't know that however given how little he knows of his new companion.

@KalTammy If I go that route could I also ready an attack as well with the trigger being if the guard with the hotshot appears to be pulling the trigger in Kneeling Noble? Totally get it if it is, just seeing where I need to draw the line for future engagements
