Let's Talk Avatars

A lack of an Avatar on a person's profile doesn't mean I won't consider writing with them. But I often wonder why they haven't gotten around to submitting one. I fill out everything on a profile. I'm probably one of the minorities that actually has their About Me filled out. Naturally, my Avi was one of the first things I got done back when I joined (almost five years ago, damn!)

An avatar is your front page, it gives the flavor that people will associate with you at first impression. So, it's good to have something that speaks of your interests. Profile banners and such go next, as they are the next thing someone will see if they go ahead and click on your Avi.

I'm a huge sci-fi nerd, so all of my Avis tend to be in some sort of science-fiction derivative, even if mixed with fantasy elements.

Avatar, no avatar makes no difference to me. It's more about how the person presents themselves.
For myself, I just choose whatever I think looks nice. Not really that deep.

A nice avatar is like a person at a bar having an interesting t-shirt. It can make for a reason to make the first move, but you know more about the person after talking to them. It ultimately says nothing about the content, it is window-dressing, ultimately.

My avatar is usually a reflection of my imagination. I love interesting creatures or Lovecraftian creatures. My last Avatar was a creature from the game Bloodborne. My favorite game. I usually pick the creature I'm most interested in to be my avatar. Currently my avatar is a creature I made with AI.
