The Art Thief's Obsession (LunarWolf and Guardian Angel)

Skye was just nodding her head before she was commenting, "I'm sure that a lot of those are actually closed cases now and while it wasn't all updated in the paper files, it was updated in the digital system." With that she was nibbling on her pizza a little bit before going back to what she had been working on.

Sky nodded his head and then started to look up the case numbers to check and see if they were in fact closed or not. this was all while he was waiting to hear back about the prank call to see if they needed to get involved or not

He would find that a good number of the cases that he was looking up were in fact closed - and there were detailed notes on the proceedings of the cases as well. Definitely not something that the former chief had done at all - considering the large pile he had and the number of files that were considered "open" when in fact that were closed. There were some that were still open and the investigations were ongoing; the detectives actively doing their jobs.

Sky held back a relived sigh seeing that a large number of them were in fact closed and he went to work updating the paper files before checking in with the detectives for the open files

The detectives were giving him all of the information that he needed - they had everything on paper and documented properly they just hadn't given that information to the former chief knowing that he wouldn't have cared at all. Most of it was reported to Nicolas who just updated everything in the system as he got the information. It wasn't long before the cops that had gone out to answer the call were returning although one of them was still laughing a little bit. "Well the call wasn't a prank call but at the same time... the cops weren't the ones to call. The kid was 8 and home alone at the time, mom had arrived home about ten minutes after we had arrived there - she had just run down the street to the store fast, kid was at home alone for maybe an hour." one of the cops was speaking at that point in time. Nothing wrong there, children between 8 and 10 were allowed to be left at home alone as long as it wasn't longer than an hour. And the child definitely knew how to keep themselves safe - he had hesitated to unlock the door for them.

"Anyways he heard a noise under his bed and when he went to look he saw something looking at him which had him get scared and run away. He was going to call his mom but realized she had left her phone there on accident so he used the house phone to call 911 - because his mom said that if he ever felt in danger and she was incapable of protecting him - because she was hurt and bleeding, she was unconscious, ect) that he should call 911. So he did because he felt in danger. Anyways we got there and he took us to his room telling us about the monster under his bed and we knelt down to see eyes staring at us from under the bed - and they did kind of look a little humanish. So proceeding with caution we did everything by the book... turns out though that a fox had snuck inside and had holed up under his bed." the cop was finishing the story after a moment in time, giving a small chuckle. Well fox eyes and human eyes were pretty similar, and to a child who didn't know any better.
