All characters must be written/played as 21 years old (if not established as already older).
I like to ret-con the Pokémon universe so characters must be 18 years old before they can become a Pokémon trainer, Coordinator or whatever.

Greetings; hope you're well! My name is Vyce, and the pleasure is mine! Welcome to my ever-shifting fandom thread! At the moment, I have one major fandom craving in Pokémon (open to playing in any region), as well as three minor requests for specific canon females I'd love a partner to play as.

Tone-wise, I'm looking to maintain the anime's playful, campy vibe with some lighthearted noblebright adventure and highspirited fluff. Copious tongue-in-cheek humor and comedy, levity, hardedged "Fuck you!" positivity, highspirited battles (Pokémon being KO'd rather than maimed/killed), romance, slice-of-life moments, plenty of loving sensuality and sexy/smutty goodness (no Pokémon x human sex), seductive/teasing banter between worthy opponents, quiet moments of character growth, people being capable of warmth, compassion and empathy (even if oddly/poorly displayed), and—above all else—a general sense of fun and intimacy (the characters openly enjoying each other's company and the situations they find themselves in). You know, that kind of stuff. :)

To that end, I request that partners (aside from what's listed on the "OOC Info" link above)...
Have a generally solid familiarity of the Pokémon universe's world and mechanics!
Be willing to write semi-descriptive Pokémon battles and put creative spins on attacks a la the anime!
Ignore the games' "Four Moves of Doom" limit in favor of Pokémon being able to use (and potentially learn) many of their given moves!

Characters

Character-wise, I'm looking to play a male OC, with one such character detailed in the below spoiler.
marion.jpg

Name: Marion
Nicknames: "Weird Story Boy", "Pretty Eyes"
Age: Early-Mid 20s
Profession: "Pokémon Bard" (self-titled blend of storyteller and Pokémon trainer/Coordinator); graphic novelist
Hometown: Veilstone City (Sinnoh)
Family

Mother: The head Veilstone City librarian, a sweet-tempered and strong-willed woman whose petite size and Southern Belle appearance hides a creative mind with photography and a heart as big--and fierce--as a Mega Gyrados. Their constant nature walks instilled in Marion a quiet appreciation for the outdoors; on bright sunny days, it's common to find him sitting under a shady tree with a book.
Father: A blue-collar, down to earth carpenter whose definition of "manliness" is more mental and psychological (showing respect to others, owning every word you say, valuing hard work, taking pride in what you do, being a good loser and a noble winner, etc.) than the hardass emotionless tough-guy routine one would assume by his rugged old-school appearance.

Beyond just a love of literature (he considered the Veilstone City Library a second home), as a little boy Marion would always dash to the Story Corner in hopes that old gambler was there, spinning yet another of his endless yarns for a crowd of little kids like himself. Great battles and adventures, silly tales and sad remembrances, myths and fables and aphorisms and all sorts of stories. But above all, she would spin trickster tales, of cunning trainers and quick-witted Pokémon defeating much stronger adversaries and ingenious traps with wisdom and insight. This became a major aspect of his life: While other kids dreamt of battling Cynthia and Marshall, he dreamt of meeting the Trick Master or joining the Black Arachnid on a heist.

At school, Marion wasn't a rude student or lazy--he was roughly a "B+" student overall--but was exuberant and often required some slight...correction. (Basically, the exasperating yet lovable reason his teacher became a silver Delphox ahead of her time.) That overactive imagination often had him create stories, often writing them down during classes instead of taking notes, paying attention or even whispering them to his classmates (viewing him with amusement or annoyance, depending on the person in question). One day, his teacher told Marion to come to the front of the room; since he liked to tell tales, she intoned, here was his chance. Perhaps it was her way of stemming this trait of his once and for all, much like how some stand-up comedians deal with a heckler in the audience by giving them the mic and watching them crash and burn. The spotlight was on and, with a deep breath, Marion nervously began. That nervousness, over the course of minutes, started to slowly melt away as the boy thought of his parents--his father's words to "own what you do" and his mother cheering him on--truly got into it and feeling a genuine ease. The fear of being made fun of, his hesitancy and self-consciousness faded, as that comfort took over, providing an odd nobility to it all. The story lasted over 20 minutes, him not having missed a beat. His classmates were left enthralled; even their class Chatot fell quiet, eyes never leaving those of the young lad.

The teacher watched him for a moment, before quietly asking him a question:
"How do you, a child who rarely pays attention in class, have such talent?"

Marion's grand and slightly embarrassed reply? "Dunno. I just like stories."

From that day forward, Marion was used as a "weapon" for his teacher's class ("If you don't behave, I won't have him tell you a story"). Story time was his time; with help from some of his teacher's Pokémon (and eventually his Gastly), he'd tell tale after tale, making up some on the spot while twisting others, adding sound effects and multiple voices. More than once did story time extend because the class wanted him to finish his tale, and other teachers had their students join in as well. What others initially mocked him for gave Marion a quiet confidence that helped him to grow when he started the dual path of a Coordinator and trainer. (He couldn't decide which appealed to him more, so he walks both paths.) Even if he was still a geek, as he would quote many years later, he had found the path of his chic.

Skilled in mimicking voices and mannerisms, he weaves words with the grace of a Butterfree's String Shot as his faithful Gastly "Veil" uses his illusory powers to provide imagery and even sensory stimulation. Marion just loves storytelling as a teaching tool and seeing the eyes of children and young ones light up as they learn and laugh at the same time, wanting to provide that same spark ignited in him those many years ago. (Seeing some of his greatest blunders replayed in front of him keeps him grounded; on an aside, he loathes "humble-braggers" and false humility.) It is that power to influence with stories that he is addicted to, and is quite a change from the normally quietly humored boy, though battles can also ignite that sparkle in his eyes.

I have a particularly odd request at present: I'm looking for partners open to transplanting one of the following non-PKMN females into the Pokémon universe, as if part of it all along.
Azula, Ty Lee, Mai, Suki, Katara (Avatar the Last Airbender)
Korra (Legend of Korra)
Princess Daisy (Mario)
Ginny, Hermione (Harry Potter)
Nami (One Piece)
Chi Chi, Bulma, Videl (Dragon Ball Z)
Tifa Lockhart, Lightning (Final Fantasy)
Daenyrys (Game of Thrones)
Moana, Merida (Disney)
Tea Gardner, Ishizu Ishtar, Alexis Rhodes, Akiza Izinski (Yugioh)

From the Pokémon anime itself, I'd love to find a partner who'll play as Jessie, Delia Ketchum, Bea, Cynthia, Nimona, Misty, or Giselle.
In both above cases, I would be fine with partners adding their personal spin/headcanons to said character (as long as it isn't some 180-degree personality swap).

When it comes to female OCs (some dream faceclaims viewable in this album), I'm most fond of the following character archetypes:
  • The fierce, confident, tough-as-Steelix Action Girl who can put a guy in place with a sharp comment or blazing look. Think a lady with this sort of attitude.
  • The sinisterly-alluring Dark Action Girl who is Reformed But Not Tamed; a woman who "never tames her demons, but always keeps them on a leash" (Hozier, Arsonist's Lullaby). Think a non-psychotic Juri Han from Street Fighter, or Revy from Black Lagoon.
  • The proud, strong-minded Lovable Alpha Bitch who takes no crap and frequently gets her way. (Think Regina George from Mean Girls, or a non-psychotic Azula from Avatar the Last Airbender.)
  • The cheerful, passionate Girly Bruiser who's like if someone "took energy drinks, rave parties, overly excited puppies and the metaphorical concept of happiness and mixed them all together in a blender".

Some Ideas

In terms of ideas, I have a few listed below and I'm open to hearing others.

1. The classic Pokémon journey is very much something I'd be down for playing. (I'd greatly prefer our characters be relatively experienced, rather than them just starting out or beginning their journeys.) Highspirited adventures and journeys, that's the ticket. Ideally, a sort of rom-com deal with plenty of fluffy funtimes between two traveling trainers/Coordinators/Frontier Brains/Elite Four members/whatever crushing on each other, with plenty of lighthearted—and lightheartedly smutty—slice-of-life moments (a Pokémon capture, a tournament or festival battle encounter Meet Cute, those sorts of things).

2. Our characters being childhood rivals who reunite several years later as adults during an annual meet n' greet for newly-minted Elite Four members/Top Coordinators/Gym Leaders (especially if they specialize in the same type)—or returning as professors at some elite Pokémon academy—also has some appeal.

3. I'd certainly be open for some slice-of-life lines exploring the day-to-day aspects of our characters' careers (training, being in the mood to celebrate after an especially intense/noteworthy victory, one needing reassurance after a narrow or devastating loss, etc.).

4. For something with a more female-led relationship vibe, I'd also be game for a line between a female of high position/authority (Champion, Frontier Brain, Elite Four member, Pokémon Prof, Top Coordinator, etc.) and her husband, trying to have a romance while being in the spotlight.

5. Our characters being rivals and two of their generation's most talented figures. (I'd especially love it if they had sharply different approaches to both life and their fields, one being a fiery force majure on the battlefield/stage, while the other's the calm eye in the raging storm.) You know, them being intense yet oddly-respectful rivals and foils with an "iron sharpening iron" mentality, their prodigious skills eclipsed only by the captivating nature of how different they are. (It could also be their form of courtship. ;)) A constant shifting tide of counterplays where they trade victories regularly, and their cordial interactions in public always carried an undercurrent of competition that wouldn't fail to draw the media's attention. Of course, such constant shifting power plays would (ideally) extend to the bedroom as well.
While the media would be aware of the pair's red-hot rivalry, they wouldn't be privy to the guy firmly fucking the girl in the hotel shower just hours before she won a place as the newest member of her region's Elite Four. They wouldn't know of how the girl sloppily blew her rival a few hours before he went out to decisively win the latest Coordinator contest. And the pair would have an unspoken understand that, after every battle they have with each other, the loser shows up to the winner's room and obtains revenge by edging/fucking/dominating the winner into mush. Something lighthearted and humorous with a vibe like this pic, that sort of thing. :p

Finally, in a non-Pokémon craving, there are two specific characters I'd love for a partner to play.

tumblr-7599f38e372816be4ac28a9467321f02-c3f6400f-500-1.jpg

I'm especially keen on finding a partner open to playing as the Edenian warrior-princess Kitana from Mortal Kombat.

Within the MK 'Verse: I would love to play a male "Phantom Thief" who--as the name implies--is an exceptionally stealthy thief worthy of the Lin Kuei, with a frightening knowledge of chi, which he uses in his adventures. Surprisingly disciplined with a dry wit, he operates with a code of honor and does not use his skills against the weak and poor, both out of moral conviction and practicality (there is no challenge). Perhaps, whether out of a self-challenge or being hired by some outside party, he could attempt to steal a valuable artifact from the Kahn's palace, only to be confronted by Kitana herself? Though he gives a good accounting of himself, he is of course sorely defeated and taken prisoner, whereupon Kitana could offer him a choice: Service (said thief being her servant in whatever capacity she so desires ), or serving (as an example for trying to steal from the Kahn, losing a hand or worse). (I'd love it to become consensual love, mistress/slave, even a private affair [said character being someone Kitana can come to].)
That said, I also have a male combat medic OC--a (comparative) martial/technical pacifist who also uses his knowledge of plants and chi to heal and harm with equal proficiency--being a prince from a neighboring realm that's Seido-adjacent, where diplomacy and magic reign heavily. Perhaps an arranged marriage, or one out of convenience, could be a plot point; I have an idea for two for this if interested.

Outside the MK 'Verse: I'd be 100% fine with partners adding their own personal spin/flavor and headcanon on Kitana, or transplanting her into a different setting/universe such as:
  • A more noblebright D&D-esque high-fantasy setting
  • King of Fighters
  • DC Comics
  • Rokugan
  • Avatar the Last Airbender/Legend of Korra
60b8d7bfa351b156d39752431c13e2f8.jpg

As Korra is one of my personal fave characters (this Onion article seems custom-written for her if she were an Air Nomad), I'd love to find a partner willing to play as her, whether in her "canon" setting or an alternate one like those listed below:
  • Korra in Aang's Era: An AU where Korra was born when Aang was still the Avatar, being a martial artist and Master Waterbender as a combat style with little interest in the "softer" use of healing…like a reverse of Katara's situation. Or it could just be an Expy of her in Aang's time, much like how Bumi appeared in Korra as one of Aang's children.
  • Dungeons & Dragons/Final Fantasy-esque High Fantasy!Korra: Korra being an adventurer and wandering elemental monk from a martial order known for believing enlightenment is obtained via ascetic self-discipline and mastery of body and soul (or perhaps a barbarian [1, 2, 3, 4] or fighter [1, 2, 3]-type who relishes the thrill of battle, if a more restrained philosophy wouldn't jive), going on a pilgrimage and using said mastery of combat to protect the weak, right wrongs and generally be "a fearless protector of the good stuff"?
  • Modern-day Superhero!Korra (1, 2, 3): Well, the Avatar can easily qualify as a superheroic legacy and Korra genuinely relishes her role without needing some tragic happenstance to push her into it (an increasingly rare quality nowadays), so there's virtually no alterations needed (though maybe Vaatu could play a greater role or something).
  • Pokémon Trainer!Korra: In the Pokémon world, she could be a pugnacious but goodhearted wandering trainer who loves adventures and Pokémon battles, constantly ends up a thorn in the side of criminal organizations, and has an untapped raw potential in using Aura? (And perhaps her starter Pokémon, in homage to the canon, could be a Beartic named Naga?)
