once they were all there Aden set the book down open to the page that they needed "there is a way for us to dethrone the king while he is still alive and put the prince on the throne"
This had the generals just looking towards him attentively while Cassian just seemed more curious. There were the advisors that were against the idea, but they were being shushed by those that were allied with the prince. "And what is it we need to do?" Cassian was questioning after a moment in time.
"its a vote of confidence by all generals and all advisors" Aden was glad that the majority of both favored the prince and wanted to see him on the throne
Those that favored the king were just stating that it was unfair since there were bias judgements there. Honestly one of the generals just had to question with a deadpan look how it was unfair. After that it was the prince who was commenting, "Since the advisors are under the belief that it is unfair. Why don't we also invite the servants within the palace as well to offer up their input."
Cassian was just commenting, "We will just inform them that this is what is happening. We can direct them to the throne room where they can write down either king or prince on a piece of paper and drop it into a bucket. None of the generals or advisors are to speak to them or coerce them either way. I am not allowed to do the either. The only thing anybody is permitted to do is tell them that their vote is needed; should the king remain on the throne or should the prince be on the throne." With that he was tapping his finger before he was looking towards Aden and questioned if the visiting dignitary would be somebody that they could have watch to make sure that nobody tried to do more than one vote.
Aden nodded his head "I am sure Azalea would be more then willing to do this but I will ask her" Aden wouldn't say yes for her as it was here place to choose
This had Cassian was giving a nod of his head before an advisor was commenting that she was more definitely bias. "She may be bias but she isn't voting. She is only making sure that nobody cheats. She is going to be less likely to step in because she doesn't know which servant favors who, and try to compel them to vote the opposite." Cassian was commenting after a moment in time.
A maid was nodding her head and going off to find the woman, who was just coming in from the training grounds. There was sweat clinging to her body but she didn't care at all. The maid was mentioning that she was needed in the war room which had her following after her towards the war room, see why she was needed of all people.
Aden looked at her and then spoke "sorry to bother you then but we were wondering if you would be willing to stand watch over the voting of wether we replace the king or not"
"thank you, you will just be watching to make sure no one tries to vote more then once and no one is to talk to those voting to convince them to vote in a specific way" Aden then looked at one of the guards "please summon all staff to the ball room"
Soon enough the staff were all gathering in the ballroom but they seemed more than confused. Azalea had wandered into the room as well and set up a table with a bucket on there and a bunch of parchment paper with some quill pens. The staff was more than confused and just wondering what was happening at that point in time.
Aden looked at everyone and then spoke "Thank you for coming today you are going to be voting for who you would like to see on the throne the current king or the prince. you will talk to no one and you will only cast one vote"
Azalea was just watching before she was speaking, "You will each come up one at a time and write one of two words one a piece of paper and put it in the bucket. You will write King if you wish to see the king remain on the throne or you will write Prince if you wish to see the prince on the throne. You will not talk to others about who you plan to vote for. That discussion can be had amongst each other after your vote has been cast and you have left the ballroom." With that she was pointing towards a random servant and was commenting for them to start, a single line to be made. She was having the person who was voting a little distance away from the others so that others couldn't see who they were writing down. No at the time only she could see as they wrote the names - keeping mental track of votes.
Aden and then others joined in the voting as well but just like the staff they followed the instructions and talked to no one about who they had voted for.
Azalea was just watching at that point in time, although the few times that somebody did try to cheat she was calling them out and sending them to stand by a wall on their own. For the time they just had to stand there and watch.
Azalea was just watching at that point in time and soon enough all of the staff had voted other than those that had decided that they were going to cheat.
