『Kodoku no Saibou』(1×1 w/ Jikkah)

He nodded, smiling happily. “Nobuyuki is my elder brother, it’s been almost three hundred years since I’ve seen him.” He shook his head. “I’m not sure where he is, but he must be out there.”

Nana swam a distance away from the boat, following along just under the waters surface. Her powerful tail able to easily keep pace with the vessel.

"Maybe one day we could find him." She told him, "To meet another okami, and have it be your brother in fact, is surely a blessing."

Motochika was fascinated by her, in fact infatuated. To be lucky enough to have married a woman as powerful as her, despite how unpleasant their initial meeting us, was incredibly fortuitous.

Her words made him happy, nodding in agreement. “May our paths cross one day soon.” Yukimura said.

Nana turned to swim on her back, watching Motochika from just under the water. She noticed he had been watching her, feeling strangely shy about it, but it wasn’t a bad feeling at all.

Akihime nodded in agreement and looked when the carriage stopped, "It seems we have arrived."

He grinned down at her, leaning over the railing a bit to get a better look at her.

His expression grew serious and he nodded, sitting up more. “What’s the plan, my lady?”

Nana swam beside his boat for a moment longer before she tossed something out of the water in Motochika’s direction- a live fish, still squirming and squiggling.

"I was going to infiltrate the okiya as a maiko, see if I can't locate the rokurokubi myself. In the meantime, I need you to do some digging on where she could have come from. When you've found anything, I need you to act as my buyer." She said.

He laughed and grabbed it, tossing into the fishing basket beside him.

Yukimura’s face was set with a serious expression as he listened to her instruction, nodding when she finished. “Leave it to me, my lady.”

He nodded and exited the carriage, offering his hand to Akihime to help her out. “It pleases me to hear such praise.” He said humbly.

The tips of his ears burned red and he quickly cleared his throat. “I’ll be sure I earn my way.”

Dinner had been served at the Otani residence, Amaya finding it important to keep to a daily routine even when Akihime was away. “Please fetch Sasuke for dinner.” She ordered one of the stone golems gently as a whole team of them went about setting different dishes on two trays.

"I'm sure." She said and hid behind her sleeve to kiss his cheek, "Please get to work post haste." She whispered before heading to the okiya.

The little dogu gave a mechanical bow and walked down the hall to fetch the kitsune, the others meticulous in their set up routine. Unlike other shiki, these dogu possessed no souls; merely held an inkling of Akihime's will to move about and follow simple instructions. They kept the house clean and cooked when neither Amaya or Akihime had the desire for such a task.

Yukimura set off in his canine form, appearing as a Shiba Inu with a tail that wouldn’t stay still as he trotted along the streets, sniffing out anything suspicious.

Amaya sat still as the dogu worked around her, finding the silence in the home peaceful but lonely.

Akihime moved into the okiya and approached the madam, smiling kindly.
"I'll do all that I can to remove this spirit."
"Thank you so much, lady onmyoji." The madam bowed, "I'll aid you however I can."
"I'll need to be granted a room, as I will be staying here. Please, consider me one of your children." Akihime said. The madam nodded.
"Of course, I'll have you taken to a spare room at once."

The dogu had returned, Sasuke close behind with a bottle of sake in hand.
"What's on the menu, Amaya?" He asked.

Yukimura trotted down the road, listening to the busy bustle of city life- working women calling out to customers, men flirting with the women, and street stalls serving food to hungry patrons. There was little to find in regards of Yokai though, his nose picking up nothing.

“Tuna belly.” Amaya said, coming to rather enjoy human food, even if it didn’t meet her nutritional needs. She had made a practice of appearing more human while in Akihime’s care; eating meals together, bathing and styling her appearance to latest fashion trends, even learning how to write.

Akihime moved into her new room easily enough and explained that she would act as a girl for sale, and all money she earned the madam could and would keep. She set up notes to send to Amaya to keep her updated.

"Tuna is pretty fatty, you might lose that pretty figure of yours~" Sasuke teased. Sasuke had always been used to the ways of humans; how they presented themselves and how they ate. Even how they talked.

Amaya scowled softly at the comment, picking up her chopsticks to begin eating now that Sasuke had arrived. “I’ll keep that in mind, thank you. I find alcohol gives similar results.” She said cooly.

“Oh, are Kitsune not prone to weight gain?” She asked, breaking off a piece of fish and taking a bite, savoring the flavor.

She actually smiled, covering her mouth as she choked on a laugh. “You? Frolicking? That would certainly be a sight to behold.” She teased.

“I think it would be a cute thing to see.” She said, eating some of the vegetables. “Perhaps if you get drunk enough I might see it yet.”

Amaya enjoyed her meal with Sasuke, finding it rather empty with only the two of them. Still, it was good for a change of pace.
