A Bite of Family Love

He heard her enter but didn't hear her speak, his eyes looking into hers. He stood slowly, moving to her and slowly helping her out, moving her gently but a bit forcefully out of the door before turning and writing on the door with his blood,"Do not enter..." he said softly, before pointing down at the flower. His voice was dead and emotionless, showing his true pain as he moved inside, closing the door behind him and moving to his bed, sitting and staring at the ground once more, his breathing soft and quiet, as if he wasn't even there.

She saw the look in his eyes and she swallowed hard. As he forcefully pushed her out of his room, she stared down at the rose and then at his door. She hit it and wiped the blood and screaming. "I hate you!" She yelled as she ran off and went to her room slamming it shut. Given her fascination with knives, she threw them all the door watching it sink so deep into it and then tore up her room screaming. When everything was all destroyed and her hands were covered in her own blood from the harshness, she sunk down against the wall and banged her head back a series of times, continuing even as she felt the blood trickling down her neck and her back.

He couldn't hear her, even though they where so close to each others rooms. He moved, being anything but quiet as he walked down the hallway. Slowly moving to their parents room. The doctors had cleared out, but their mothers body was still there, unable to be moved because of laws and superstitions. He bowed softly to her, moving and taking her hand gently, kissing the back of it,"Good evening mother..." he whispered, his eyes closing as a few tears dropped from his eyes onto the back of her hand. He felt as though he was losing it, felt as though his mind and his soul couldn't take much more,"I... I need you back... need you and father both..." he whispered, wishing as hard as he could that it would happen,"I... don't know what to do... don't know who to turn to for guidance..." he said as he stayed there, knelt beside her bed, tears making the blanket a bit wet.

Taking in a deep breath, it only hit her that it had been about two or three days since she last fed. If she didn't it was fine as long as she didn't lose blood. She was losing a lot of blood right now. The back of her head beyond damaged and her hands bruised and seriously bloodied up. She didn't care. He didn't love her. The only two people who did were dead. She had no one. So what was the point of living if no one loved her? Her own damn brother didn't love her. Carlyle shook her head and she closed her eyes, sniffling and letting tears run down her cheeks as she sat back against the wall. if she died, so be it.

He opened his eyes softly, seeing a clock nearby. It was almost dawn, the maids and the butlers would be closing all the shutters and hallways soon. He moved out of the room and silently to the garden. He looked up at the sky, seeing the rain falling before he moved, climbing up the outside of the house and sitting on the roof, still being very noisy as he stared up at the sky,"I... want to see the sun..." he whispered, mostly to himself,"Please... just once more... i want to see it..." he closed his eyes as a small patch opened in the sky, the morning sun starting to rise, and the sun slowly moving towards the house.

Carlyle let out a few soft breaths and she got up, pulling whatever strength she had left. She walked out of her room and outside climbing to the roof knowing he was there. She could feel him on the roof. When she was at the top, she stood herself up and walked to him weakly, her hands dripping blood as she was already drenched in water. Weakly, she stood before him, right in front of him, falling to her knees. She was still crying but made no sound as she looked at him, putting her hands on his face.

He felt her hands on his face as his eyes opened,"What... do you want...?" He said, moving away from her touch,"I thought you hated me..." he said, standing up and staring up into the sky. He was afraid of her, afraid of her touch, afraid of what he might do if he grew closer to her. Even through the rain he could smell her scent, it was unavoidable, but his body was cold, the warmth he had felt with her long gone now. She had closed herself to him, and he didn't know what to do now, his mind, the one that could come up with a million stratagies to kill an opponant, couldn't even think of one to save the one relationship he'd ever had.

Carlyle swallowed hard and she tried with her strength--what little she had--to get up and go to him, putting her hands on his arms. "I love you. You walked out on me. I didn't want you to go." She sniffled, gripping his shirt. "I-I can't live without you. I love you so much but you don't even care. You don't even fucking care that I am killing myself." She moved from him weakly to the little patch of sun that was hitting the roof. Slowly she moved, squeezing her hands into fists, digging her nails into her already hurting hands, causing more blood to drip out.

He moved to her, slowly pushing her aside,"This is mine..." he said softly, looking over at her,"Find your own way to die..." he said as he felt the small patch of sun slowly move and hit his arm, the sizzling of his skin being affected. He closed his eyes softly, making no noise,"And just to let you know... I care... or cared, I should say..." he said, looking at her as the sun slowly started to move towards his neck and head.

Given her unsteady balance already, being pushed only caused her to fall and fall over. She held onto the edge of the roof and looked at him. "I love and care for you so much Ryu. Do you care though if I fall off? Do you care at all if the sun which at any moment can touch me, burns me to death? Do you care? I didn't tell you to leave. I didn't want you to leave. You pushed me out of your room. Why?" She cried.

He looked up at the sky, closing his eyes,"Because... you lied to me..." he said softly, feeling the pain rushing through him, feeling the agony of his death, only moments away, but also peace,"You promised that I'd never lose you..." He said as he flinched a bit, the pain almost too much for him to bear,"Just go on... living... I guess would be a word for it... go, find your husband... make an heir... and continue... for me... it already seems like it's too late..." he said as the sun slowly moved up his shoulder.

She pulled herself up and winced and ran to him, wincing as she clung onto him shirt tightly, her back burning slowly. "I don't want to lose you. You never lost me. I didn't tell you to walk out. I didn''t want you to go. I didn't want us to end. I want you. I need you. I-I care so much...for you..." she gitted her teeth as it hurt so much to be burning like this. "I love you so much. I'd die for you anyday. All so you could live. You'd never lose me, ever. I'm the loser because I let you slip out of my fingers instead of running after you."

He felt her and he moved, sitting her down outside of the sun,"I told you..." he said softly,"This is mine..." the burns up and down his arm bad as he stood up,"Damn..." he said softly as he saw the sun dissapear behind the clouds once more,"You don't get it... there's no love... or hate, anymore in my heart..." he said as he moved to the edge of the roof, putting hsi hands in his pockets,"A shattered heart can't mend... especially if shattered by the one you love the most..." he said as he looked back at her,"I've decided... I'm leaving..." he said as he looked down at the garden,"I don't know if I'll be back... so it should be enough for you to find a husband... just... live..." he said gently,"And don't think about me... you'll be better off if you don't..." he whispered, mostly to himself.

Weakly, she sat down and she could feel the burns on her back, mostly as the rain continued to hit it. She looked at him and she looked down and shook her head. She watched him and looked down, shaking her head. "I'm so sorry I ever hurt you. Blaming you and everything. I'm so sorry...I can never marry. I can never love another the way I love you, always and forever." She went to him and she just had to. Putting her hands on his cheeks, she kissed him once more, passionately and deeply even if he wasn't kissing back and then slowly pulled back. Her forehead rested to his and then she let go, walking away weakly, beginning to walk away and then stopped, feeling something weird in her stomach. She swallowed hard and gripped the gabric of her dress gently. "I'll make sure our child is hidden from everyone..." And with that, she climbed down and went back inside, wiping her eyes and got some blood packs, opening one on the way and gracefully drank from it even and walked to her room. The look in her eyes was both harsh and cold, slowly dying and it warded off any butlers or maids from her.

He stayed quiet as she spoke, a slight glint of something in his eyes but he said nothing as he watched her dissapear from view. He looked up at the sky,"Something's changed..." he whispered silently. He closed his eyes softly, taking a deep breath as he felt something in his chest, a feeling he didn't know how to explain. He moved silently, slipping off the roof and to his room, grabbing a few things before picking up the rose outside of it, placing it softly on his door with two nails. It wouldn't be long before he would be gone, where to and for how long he didn't know, but he needed to get away for a good while.
It would be ten years before he returned to the small village, his mind and body changed now, his hair long, but his eyes, always the same. He walked silently through the town, the rain still pouring, as it had the day he left. He looked up at the castle,'Will she even remember me...?' he thought to himself. He closed his eyes softly, standing on a roof not too far from the house. When he opened them again, he was on the roof of the house, landing silently as he looked down at the garden, the hole he had made now only a scar in the ground as he sat, moving a hand and putting the large sword he carried onto the roof next to him, making sure to keep it from going through the roof with how heavy it was.

Ten years had gone by. Ten painful years and still the events of that terrible morning haunted her. Carlyle had been pregnant just like she said she was to him that day on the roof. And only in a few short months after--because vampires grow faster--a beautiful baby boy was born. Even though he was her brother's child too, he had no imperfections. No deformations, nothing to point him as a forbidden child, which indeed he was but no one knew except for her and Ryu, if he remembered, if he was still even alive. Her son knew though and he seemed accepting because he loved her no matter what. He was almost ten but he was so bright and already so mature for a young one. He had vampire blood running through his veins after all. He was a full vampire after all and she passed him off as the son of some other vampire she had slept with. She was queen and had it that her brother was still king even if he wasn't there. No one could replace him.

That day, ten years from that horrible yet blessing day, Carlyle still looked the same. Beautiful as ever, flawless skin and zero imperfections except for the scar on her back from when she stood in the sunlight. It healed slowly because of the many years she remained saddened. The only thing keeping her alive was her son, Valkin. She lived only for him and everyday he kept growing handsome just like his true father. As he was asleep, she sat by him waring a ruby red and silken dress, a corset underneath but she stopped wearing hoopskirts for the dresses since they were already naturally so puffy but not like with a hoopskirt which she liked. Sitting in a chair, she was reading a book, her eyes scanning over the words so fast, the same look in her eyes like it was ten years ago.

A gasp came from her though and she sat up. He was alive. Nae, he was back, and on the roof?! Standing up, and since her son was taking a nap, she moved out of her room and ran outside, going to the gardens and then looked up. "Ryu...?" She whispered.

He was sitting on the roof, looking up at the sky,"Hmmm... it's been awhile..." he whispered, feeling the rain hit his face gently. He was wearing a large trenchcoat, covering the scars from his burns, but his other arm wasn't covered at all,"This place has changed... it... smells different..." he said as he slowly looked down at her,"But as always, you stay the same..." he said as he stood up, closing his eyes gently before pulling his sword onto his back, gently leaping down and landing not too far from her.

Her eyes never left his, even as the rain poured like cats and dogs down on them and everything else, causing her to be drenched in water. Her back was slightly revealed and the water drpped onto her scar which, like that day, still hurt so intensely still. Watching as he landed not too far from her, she walked over to him, slowly, not wanting to give him a reason to run and leave again. She never forgot him or ever moved on from him. It was impossible to do so. And now he was back and all she wanted to do was run into his arms and cry and never let him go but he may push her away again and that was too much of a heartbreak that happened over and over again everytime she tried to come to him. As she stood before him now, her hand reached out--it being completely hand unlike when it was bloodied up long ago--to his face, her eyes not moving from looking at him. Her eyes were incredibly watery and she just wanted to let them go but she bit her lower lip hard to prevent any tears from falling. She was strong. She could be at least.

He watched her silently, his eyes on hers as she moved, taking his face in her hands. He'd nearly forgotten how soft her skin was, how it felt against his. He stood, watching to see what she would do, and saw she was hesitant. He smiled gently,"Now now..." he whispered gently,"I thought I shoowed you that you can't bottle up your feelings anymore..." he whispered as he moved, placing a soft kiss to her lips as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

Seeing a smile surface onto his face, she knew it immediately taht the man she fell in love with so passionately and deeply was back. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back softly when she felt his lovely lips touch hers. Her tears ran down her cheeks and she was so happy, her scar on her back didn't burn when the rain hit it. She pulled back and put her hands on his cheeks again, nuzzling her cheek to his, crying gently, not wanting to ever be away and out of his arms ever again.

He held her softly to him, giving her a soft smile. It had taken a while, but he had learned to heal his broken heart. He looked up at the sky,"Come on..." he said softly,"If we stay out here... the three of us will get wet..." he said as he moved with her back towards the house. A small figure appeared a little ways away from them, dressed in a black gothic skirt and holding a huge umbrella, walking silently towards the house.

"Three?" She asked looking back and saw a small figure in the little distance. "Who is she?" She asked quietly and a little softly, wiping her eyes since she was calming down. Having already woken from his nap, Valkin stood at the doors of the castle, watching his mother walk closer and with a man. right away he knew it was his father but he said nothing and stayed where he was.

He yawned softly,"Later..." he whispered, closing his eyes,"I need rest... and so does she... we've been traveling for the last few days, and need a break..." he said as he saw the boy, saying nothing about him as they walked to the front of the house. He looked up at it, so many memories had been made there, so many difficult ones, as well as amazing ones. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath as he looked softly at her.

As they walked in, she put her arm around Valkin and they walked together with Ryu, not yet introducing the two. Nodding to him, she sai nthing more as she led him and the young girl to Ryu's room, it being just the way he had left it, the rose still there too. "Will this be fine?' She asked gently, opening the doors and letting him into his old and still current room.

He nodded softly, looking around his old room. The blood stains from that night, still very visible on his floor. He moved to the bed and laid on it, taking a soft breath as he felt the familiar feel of his blankets. He closed his eyes softly, moving and sitting up,"Hmmm... it's been... too long..." he said, not opening his eyes, trying to remember how things where so long ago. He gave a soft smile, enjoying his memories.
