Seems to me it's an opening for more compliments and arguments over your features being pleasing. If you were modest you would humbly take the compliment with a blush and a sweet thank you instead of an argumentive rebuttal. Self love is not self absorption-- it’s confidence.

That does not strike me as self absorbed.
