Kakure

Jewel fell fast asleep and her entire body became relaxed. For most of the night she slept without stirring but sometime in the early morning she began murmuring in her sleep and she frowned a little. Suddenly her eyes snapped open and she gasped but she didn't move from where she was as she trembled a little. A little while later she forced her eyes to close and she began falling asleep again.

Seth had slept through her little episode, and slept well until morning. As the warmth of the sun filled the room he still didn't want to get up right away. He knew the next few days would be nothing but traveling and a nice bed would be rare if not impossible to sleep in.

The next morning, Jewel woke up before Seth did and she wasn't able to go back to sleep so she carefully slipped out of Seth's arms and climbed out of the bed. Padding over to the window in the room, she leaned against the windowsil and gazed out as the sun rose.

It took him a while to finally open his eyes. The lacl of her warmth had stirred him awake enough. "Your up early..."he said and yawned "sleep well?" he asked as he got out of bed sitting over the edge.

"Yeah...." he said. "Whats wrong Jewel...I can tell when your not yourself," after just about a ekwith her he;d gotten used to her, and normally she was more excited and happy in the morning.

Jewel sighed softly and moved to sit on the bed. "I had a dream last night." she said softly. "A dream about him and what he did. That's all Seth. Don't you worry too much." She smiled over at him while folding her hands in her lap.

Seth looked at her "You need to try and forget about it...I mean I know it';s going to be hard," he said to her it would be nearly imposible. "But...I wont let you go alone again Jewel...I promise."

Jewel stared at Seth for a moment after he told her that she should just try to forget about it. She shook her head slightly and sighed while looking away from him. "When do we leave?" she asked, not caring how obvious it was that she was changing the subject.

Seth knew that was the wrong choice of words. "We'll leave now if you want," he said to her gently. He guessed all he could do was wait for her to recover emotionall, but he had no idea if that was ever going to happen now.

Jewel nodded slightly as she brushed her hair back from her face. "Lets get breakfast first." she said softly. "We won't have much energy if we don't."

Seth nodded "Alright," he said to her. He knew this was bad, when she actually suggested food for benefit. He got up and dressed "We need to eat outside, Nurse Joy is busy as it is," he also knew she wasn't a hotel and more or less likely wouldn;t have to to cook.

Jewel slowly stood up and walked over to her bag, picking it up and shouldering it before entering the bathroom to check her wound while Seth got dressed. She unwrapped her neck and gingerly touched her neck before wrapping clean bandages that Nurse Joy had given her, around her neck. Her burns were healing nicely and would be almost completely healed by the end of the week. She nodded after he said that they needed to eat outside and she opened the door to the room, stepping outside and looking around as her ears twitched.

Seth followed her, he kept rather quiet, he was tinking of ways to make her feel better. He was sure she would recover, or at least he really hoped she would. He thanked Nurse Joy before leaving, the only place to eat would be in a cafe not to far from the center.

When they stepped out into the sunlight and the cool air, she took a deep breath and sighed, closing her eyes for a moment as she enjoyed the feeling of the sun on her face and the breeze ruffling her fur. The fresh air and sunlight seemed to do the girl some good since her ears perked up a little and she smiled gently. Turning slightly, she followed Seth over to the nearby cafe.

He felt a small sense of joy as she smiled again, he liked that, but the thought that it would take her a while to be back to normal still lingered and dampaned that small bit of light. They walked into the cafe, it was a small diner, a rest stop for trainers on the go.

Jewel took a deep breath when they walked into the cafe and her tail flicked slightly. "The food smells good." she said as her stomach started growling.

Seth smiled "Good...hope your hungry," he said as a watress came to see what they wanted. He ordered just a simple breakfast of hotcakes.

She nodded slightly as she sat down with him. "I am hungry." she said. When the waitress came over, she ordered an omelette with sausage, green pepper, onions and cheese in it.

Seth was a little surprised she knew what an omolet was, but he wasn't ging to ask when she had learned about it, they had been on a cruise for a while so he was sure it must have been there. It was rather quiet as they waited for there food, he felt if he spoke he might cause her to feel bad again.

As they sat there in the slightly akward silence, Jewel gently bit her bottom lip while fidgeting in her seat. After several minutes she spoke up with a sigh. "Seth, I really don't want things to change between us." she said gently. "But I feel that they are changing."

"I'm just...trying to give you space," he told her. "Nurse Joy...said it might be best if....I kinda just let you handle yourself for a bit," he told her. He just didn't know how to make her feel much better. He knew thought traveling together wouldn't be as enjoyable if he kept treating her like she was made of glass or some sort of bomb ready to go off.

Jewel frowned a little and looked down at her lap with a soft sigh. "Please Seth... Just treat me like you used to." she pleaded softly. She brushed her tawny hair from her face with a sigh. "I've been hurt and I need your strength and your support to get over this."

She smiled gently and nodded. "Thank you Seth." she said softly. "It means alot to me." As the waitress approached with their food, she heard her stomach growl and she laughed sheepishly. "I guess I'm really hungry." she said to him before beginning to eat.
