King Ashura.

A light breeze picked up in the evening air and wound its way through the shrine. The trees and bushes danced and the grass swayed lazily. Yet as sapphire eyes continued to stare, the familiar statue remained stoic and still. It was no longer crying. After a moment, a self depriciating smile stretched Fai's lips. "You remind me of him. I'll admit, that's not something I appreciate very much, King Yasha." A light chuckle blossomed from his chest before he fell silent again, his smile fading some as he lost himself in thought.

He wondered if this could be a similar instance of worlds they'd faced before. The statue was beautifully carved, but it left much to be desired when it came down to proper detail; aside from the distinct scar that covered this God's right eye. How long ago would it have to have been, he wondered, for the man he knew to laugh at the notion of being a God in another world? Then again, would he even have laughed at that at all? It was a curious question that had him pondering heavily for a few moments. That is, until the silly thought turned much darker.

Fai couldn't help but frown as his current wish reared up to face him once more. And as he did on rare occasions such as this, he could only close his eyes and pray. "Please."

Stay asleep.

He couldn't sleep. Fai's words had begun to niggle at him, because of course the damn mage had to be right. Everything from the scent of rice wine to the sight of familiar architecture reminded him of home, and though he wouldn't admit to it, Kurogane felt the unpleasant nostalgia of home sickness Fai had accused him of. "What an idiot," he grumbled to himself as he slid open the shoji door and stepped out onto the deck; just in time to see the blonde bastard disappear around the corner.

Kurogane debated with himself for a moment before deciding to follow. They'd already lost two and a half members of their little team, and he wasn't about to lose another one. There was no way he was going to be blamed if this idiot ran off too.

Finding Fai at the God's shrine wasn't much of a surprise, (the man was meticulous in his information gathering,) but to hear him pleading to the stone statue definitely was. Kurogane settled his arms in the opposite sleeves of his hakuma, and leaned against a torii pillar with a snarky smirk. "I didn't take you to be the kind of guy who prays. Especially to a God you don't know."

A playful grin split across Fai's face as those eyes, sparkling with mischief, peeked open and turned in his companion's direction. "Who's to say I don't?"

Gloved hands lifted into an over exaggerated shrug as he twirled on his heels to face his broody buddy. "Then again, maybe not," he chuckled out warmly.

"And besides..." An idea struck him then that had him lacing his fingers behind his head and skipping his way over to the big lout, that open, friendliest of smiles soaking into his features. He simply couldn't help himself. Kurogane was possibly the best person to tease in the whole world. It was adorable, and so very fun just how mad he could get at the simplest little thing.

"Hopes, dreams, and prayer are basic fundamentals of magic. Without any of them, there wouldn't be much use for magic in the first place, now would there?" He tilted his head lightly, chuckling past that soft spoken, gentle nature he exuded. "You come from a world that has magic in it. I would think even someone like you would know something as simple as that, Kuro-buro."

A grumpy frown pulled down his lips as Fai spun around to look at him. A displeased grumble further pulled his lips as the mage flamboyantly bounced towards him. It was no different than Fai always acted, but he knew it was a mask for something. Even if it seemed like less and less of a farce the farther they got into their journey. "Ch," he started, about to make a comment but was quickly cut off.

Kurogane bounced off of the pillar into an angry preen. "That's not my name!" He shouted. There was a short pause in which an evening breeze passed between them with a gentle whistle. "And what the hell is THAT supposed to mean?!" he followed up with a slightly higher pitch to his voice, his shoulders lifting with each word.

He took two steps back, the expectant need to flee soon fueling him as he cowered in mock surprise. "Oh no, what a scary look!" It was chided from behind fisted hands through a broadening smile as an exhilarated thrill ran through the hyper mage.

With a wiggle of his hips just for show, he danced in his spot for a moment before hopping up onto the covered porch just to repeat the gesture. "Kuro-pi is mad again! What ever will I do~," he sang as an excited giggle bubbled from his chest all on its own.

Fai's wiggling dance had Kurogane growling, a vein throbbing on his forehead. He turned to face his companion when the mage bounced away. He curled his right hand into a tight fist. "Why you-" He chased after Fai, throwing a missing punch as he stomped onto the deck. "What good is magic to a useless wizard, huh?!"

He'd never admit to finding that obnoxious, annoying, aggravating, piss him off more than anything, giggle... was actually sort of nice. And it sure as hell didn't soften his scowl with an uptick of the corner of his lips. Nope. Not at all.

The blonde danced away from the thrown punch with ease. Despite their many disputes throughout their time together, Kurogane had never once been able to land one. Dodging, weaving, and twirling away were something that came so naturally to him, and he couldn't help but always do so with such flashy flourish. If there was one thing the mage was very good at, it was certainly running away.

However, he stopped short at the swordsman's outburst, blinking through an insult that brought a tilt to his head. It calmed his smile into something far mor gentle and relaxed his hyper stance. "Well that wasn't a very nice thing to say," he mentioned cheerily. "It's not fair to bring your real feelings into this."

His friend was threatening to make a fun situation into something a little more serious, whether he meant to or not. Fai often did his best not to pass any real lines when teasing his grumpy sidekick, but Kuro wasn't always very good at returning the favor. A sigh huffed past smiling lips as he drew into an exaggerated shrug once more. "I suppose I can't really blame you for your lack of tact, given your circumstances."

Still, he simply couldn't allow for such a fun time to be soured. No, instead, he'd simply have to escalate the fun. And he knew just how to do that. A sly tilt entered his features. "But I think I may just have to punish you for it anyway."

With a skip in the backstep of his dance, he made his way over to the nearest pillar and leaned back against it, lifting his arms over his head and wrapping them around the structure to hug some support into his lazed stance against. "Don't you think so, Kurger-burger?"

The teasing smirk broadened, thinning his lips as the smallest spark of the giddy excitement he felt a few moments ago ignited in sapphire eyes as he continued. He knew exactly what he was doing. "Kurgy-puu."

His lean grew heavier against the pillar as a curious thought struck him. He knew what Kurogane did when he was escaping him. Suddenly he found himself wondering what exactly this surly group member would do if he actually managed to get a hold of him one time.

"Kur.ga.pii," came the teasing purr.

Fai came to a sudden stop, and Kurogane missed a step himself. Fai's smile changed. It was still chipper and cheerful, but the mask was returning to Fai's face. It bothered him; and he couldn't help but think that maybe, just maybe, he'd crossed a line. An apology danced on his tongue, but as always it never made it passed his lips. It actually might have this time, if the damn bastard hadn't teased him just as hard. Another growl vibrated his throat. He missed his home... He missed his role as a warrior, the feel of the Silver Dragon in his hands or strapped to his waist. It was a painful blow, but he realized that it was a blow he deserved. Still.....

"Don't call me that!" He snapped; his eyes shut and fist lifted with a shivering shake. When he opened his eyes again, his crimson irises were sharp and narrowed... but they popped open wide in surprise at the stance Fai had taken. It was a nice one. His lanky body stretched out against a pillar, arms up, and giving him that sly grin. With yet another growl, he reached out to snag the wizard by his right shoulder. He expected another pirouette to dodge, not the feeling of tight fabric between his fingers. "Would you shut up already?!"

That bastard... Fai let him catch him, and that was an insult to his pride and honor that was nearly too much to bare. He bunched his other hand into a fist and made a move to punch his comrade in his smug face. It's what he had always tried to do, and yet, now that he'd actually caught the snide little shit, he didn't want to hurt him. "Damn it," he cursed under his breath before yanking Fai away from the pillar. He shoved Fai into a headlock, the blonde's head held still in a muscular hold. With his balled up left hand he pressed his knuckles hard against the wizard's scalp. "I'll show you tact!" He shouted before scrubbing his knuckles back and forth with no mercy, giving Fai the hardest noogie Kurogane had ever given.

Kurogane's scowl turned into a cruel, yet playful smirk. "Hows that! Huh?! I'll punish you..." There was a moment of thought that didn't pause his bullying even the slightest. "Fai-ee-why-ee!"

What better punishment than to offer the same type of cruel blow that had been dealt to him? Fai certainly did know what he was doing when he chose not to move an inch even as that angry hand reached out to grab him. And boy was that look on his face a smug one as he watched Kurogane move without the slightest hint of worry. After all, while Kuro was an incredibly perceptive one himself, Fai had quite the leg up in that department. He knew he wouldn't actually be punched by standing there.

That isn't to say, however, that he knew exactly what was coming. Even as he drew in a breath to offer one more small tease to his burly companion. Instead he sucked it right back in in surprise as he was suddenly yanked forward and away from his restful stance. "Wha--"

He was pulled straight into a headlock with little time to react. And before he could even question what in the world was going on, knuckles were being pressed down against his skull and grinding across his scalp. "Owowowow! What is this?!"

He'd never experienced anything like it before. It certainly wasn't a part of any fighting style he was aware of either. But despite the confusion and pain it caused, his smile could only broaden as giddy giggles made their way past pained noises. He did still grab at the burly arm locking him in tight and push at it with all his might to get free, though. It was a sad fact that Kuro was, in fact, stronger than him on a physical level.

It was just as he squeezed himself free from under that arm, the force of it landing him hard on his back side, that he registered what he had just been called.

He wanted to laugh at the absolutely ridiculous set of syllables that had just bumbled themselves out of that big loud mouth but he was stricken far too harshly in a different sense for that to make it out this time. the feeling that came instead had him leaning back on his hands for support and tilting his head down in an attempt to hide the heat that was slowly permeating his face, while big blue eyes worked in the opposite goal and forced themselves to lock with sharp red ones.

"No one's ever given me a nickname before," he offered, disturbingly unguarded compared to his usual antics. The smile that cracked his face this time was bright and somewhat timid as he did his best to offer up a compliment. "It was a very poor attempt, but I liked it. Thank you."

Dastardly chuckles left him as Fai exclaimed his pain. He felt vindicated. He was finally getting some much deserved revenge on the cheery man. Fai's struggles were met with a tighter grip and harder rubbing, but that extra force backfired. It helped Fai slip free, and Kurogane's chuckles became full on devious laughter as the usually graceful man fell flat on his ass in front of a rice paper door... But that look. That shy, pink faced glance up at him through blonde bangs stopped his chortles cold. An uncomfortable 'Ngh!' was made through pinched lips, and his narrowed eyes widened once more.

What the hell?!

The smile given to him was different than the usual. It wasn't the half faked grin given to everyone Fai came across, it was... Honest. As if, for a moment, Fai had put away the mask. He wasn't sure what to do with it, but he could feel his face heating up in response to it. This reaction to a gaudy nickname was not what he was expecting in the least, and it left him with a confusing question. Were the annoying names Fai called him really meant to annoy him? Or rather, just to annoy him?

As he usually did when confronted with something confusing, he lashed out. "That wasn't supposed to make you happy, idiot!" He barked, before quickly retreating into himself with crossed arms and a puffy pout. "But if it does," he started in a mumble. "I guess that's not horrible..." There was another short moment of silence before the words sent his way fully registered. Then he puffed right back up, his cheeks still pink. "What do you mean 'poor attempt?!' You... You.... Dancing... Fairy!"

Fai had just done a very bad thing, at least the way he looked at it. His fingers twitched at the sudden itch to hurredly scrub the heat away from his cheeks, the vulnerable look from his face. But he corrected himself without the need, Thanks to his over exciteable friend. Flawlessly, he slid himself away behind closed eyes that accompanied a pleasant smile and warm laugh at the pouting anger hollared his way.

He poked out his tongue playfully. He might have slipped there for a moment, but it was quick. Thankfully, it was quick enough that he was allowed to keep the next moment all to himself. The one where he once again noticed just how handsome the lively man standing over him was, especially in clothing that suited him so very well and the light dusting of color that marred his own face.

The moment after that, however, was not nearly as fun or warm feeling. It was, in fact, quite cold. As the rice paper door he'd fallen in front of suddenly slid open. Fai had just enough time to turn his head and notice the leader of the shrine quickly grabbing the man carrying the stack of trays in order to stop him from stepping out the door and trampling him.

The man still wobbled in nearly losing his balance though, and that was all it took. Fai threw his arms up over his head to shield himself as the top two trays slid from their place and tumbled down on him. He would be pelted by both, along with several handsized bottles of sake that lined them. And then, of course, there was the plum sake that spilled from those bottles and absolutely drenched the flinching blond.

Kurogane's lips turned into a tight frown as Fai quickly collected himself and that honest expression recessed once more. "Stop doing that," he grumbled to himself. He hadn't meant to say it out loud, but really seeing his companion just to have the experience cut so short irritated him to no end. It wasn't fair. The wizard could pull true moments out of him all the damn time, and yet he himself had to work hard to get only tiny glimpses. He was glad to avoid the inevitable teasing for his out burst.

The door slid open, and a man he hadn't been introduced to yet nearly toppled over Fai. The only thing stopping that unpleasant episode was Souseki holding the guy back, but it wasn't a complete success. With a startled and worried grunt, Kurogane shot out his right arm to smack away the trays that had fallen and were on course to colliding with Fai's head. He even managed to capture the bottle of cold plum wine before it crashed and probably shattered over that hard head. Kurogane wasn't entirely sure why he grown so protective of their group. He didn't even think before 'rescuing' Fai from a fate the wizard could easily handle, but lady luck once more gave him an excuse to avoid thinking about it.

It didn't matter what he did. Short of yanking Fai out of the way, he couldn't stop the wine from splashing all over the now sweet smelling, drenched mage. Kurogane laughed, handing the bottle back to the poor panicking guy. "Hey," he started through loud, booming hilarity. "You like nicknames so much," He held out his hand for Fai to take if he wanted to. "How about 'drowned rat!'" He finished with a snort.

Even though it was pointed at his expense, the laughter sent his way was more than nice. Kurogane was such a serious person most of the time. And just like Syaoran, he likely would have never laughed or even smiled at such a scene if it had happened in the beginning of their trip. They were quite alike in many ways, in fact. Syaoran had seemed so gloomy and quiet while Kurogane was mostly quiet and sour. He couldn't help but hope that he was part of the reason that had changed. More and more lately, it seemed like everyone was becoming able to crawl out of their shells.

The smile on Fai's face turned warm, reaching his eyes naturally as he peeked up at Kuro and took the offered hand to get up. Even that small, gentle offer felt different from before. He wanted to offer a teasing pout at the new nickname he may be given over this bunder of his, but the happy thought simply wouldn't allow it. "Thank you for your help Kuro-rin." Of course, that didn't mean he couldn't offer a bit of a tease back instead.

Souseki had taken the offered bottle from the swordsman with a gentle thanks of his own, grabbing the man fumbling out appologies by the shoulder to calm him down and instructing him to use another door to deliver the sake to the recreational area. When Fai stood he stooped down in his place and overturned the trays, gently replacing the fallen bottles atop them. "My appologies gentlemen," he offered warmly.

"It seems we may be just a bit overzealous about the celebration we have planned for the night since it is somewhat spontaneous." He adjusted his glasses and turned a curious look on the wizard who dropped back to his knees just as quickly as he'd gotten up to help in cleaning up the mess.

"Oh no, it's quite alright," Fai assured him in just as polite a tone. "A bit of wine, and no harm done thanks to Muscle Man over there."

They were quiet for a moment as they cleaned. Fai had heard what Kurogane said to him just before that door had been opened. He just, as with many other things, chose to ignore its happening and implications. If he didn't, things could get more complicated. So he wouldn't say a word even after handling their current task.

"I was hoping to fetch the two of you soon to invite you to the festivities," Souseki mentioned as they finished clearing the bottles and stacked the trays. "You've come at a wonderful time and I would be honored if you would both act as my honored guests." He looked between the both of them hopefully as he stood with the trays in hand. "Of course," he added with a warm chuckle. "We'll have to get you a new change of clothes either way, Fai."

"Well it would be a bit rude to say 'no' when you've so kindly offered us a place to stay," the blonde mentioned.

Souseki seemed pleased enough with this, pointing the trays back into the room he'd just emerged from to show the mage the way. "It will be wonderful to have you. Please come this way and we'll see about those clothes."

Fai followed behind him, sauntering in that flashy way of his as he took the chance to immediately start questioning Souseki about the customs and legends of the land for a second time. Though, before they rounded a corner, he turned back to his companion with that cheery smile of his while strolling backward and offered a silly wave of both hands to him. "See you at the party~"

He helped Fai up onto his feet, only for the ever polite mage to drop right back down to his knees to help clean up. Kurogane just crossed his arm and huffed out a "Yeah, you're welcome," but didn't offer any assistance in cleaning. Nor did he give an answer to the invitation. Fai had already agreed, and as far as Kurogane was concerned, that was polite enough.

His comrade was lead away to change, and Kurogane found his eyes fixated on Fai's retreating frame. Those sauntering hips were hypnotizing, and Kurogane's fingers itched to grab a hold of them. He quickly turned away when his view turned around and waved at him merrily. "Ch," he answered, raising his hand in a half-assed wave while starting down the deck. "See you back in the room," he countered.

And to the room he went and stayed, catching someone along the way and telling them to bring his drink to the room he and Fai were sharing. He much preferred drinking in relative quiet to sharing booze amidst a party. It allowed him to relax and fully enjoy his drink, which he quite happily did. Kurogane settled himself cross-legged on a zabuton and shouldered off the top of his yukata before picking up the first of four sake bottles to pour himself a cup.

Time lazed by, and the alcohol began to heat him up, dusting his cheeks with a light red flush. He chugged down a drink, then placed the red choko down on the table beside two empty bottles of sake with a pleased 'Bwaah~,' then licked his lower lip. He'd just picked up a full bottle to pour another drink when he realized that the loud, joyous laughter of drunken men was gradually fading, and the celebration was coming to an end, and a brand new 'party' was just beginning in a nearby room.

With a sigh, Kurogane poured that cup and brought it to his lips. The low moaning sounds warmed him in a different way, and he couldn't help but feel a little jealous. It had been a while since he'd last shared a bed with anyone, not that he had a whole lot of options now-a-days. He traveled around with two kids, a talking cream puff, and a hyper active, irritating, know-it-all, hot as hell, probably prudish wizard... With a really nice butt... And a cute face... And... Kurogane took a swig and shook his head to try and clear his thoughts.

"You really didn't come." Fai, currently feeling as though he was just the perfect amount of warm after the party he'd attended, pouted out lightly through the thin door that seperated the two of them as he approached it. "No fair, leaving me all alone to entertain our gracious hosts. Shame on you Kuro-tan."

The party had been simply lovely. Lively men drinking and making merry while seeming to have not a single care in the world despite the turn of events that had taken place earlier on that day. It was nice. Almost as nice as the hot steamy bath he'd taken to rid himself of the stickiness of the alcohol that had been poured all over him just before it. Even the lovely gown he'd been given to wear for the party was quite nice in its own right. Everything from the exquisite golden border to the meticulously stitched in copper and gold leafing that scattered across the white base was a work of art he couldn't help but appreciate. Which was why, even though he'd initially thought it very strange to be offered such a thing, he couldn't bring himself to deny it. Getting into it was a completely different story on the other hand, but he'd had Souseki to help him with that part.

Yes, everything about the evening had been very... well, nice. He wished he had another word to describe it at the moment. But whether the drink was effecting him stronger than he realized, or the fact that despite how much things had changed for him since starting this journey he still wasn't used to such a thing (though covetted it when it did happen), he simply couldn't think of a better way.

Granted, he'd had to break up a few rowdy fights and he hadn't been able to locate Souseki at all once the party had started, it didn't deter from the lovely time he'd had. That being said, there was of course one thing missing from his night that he had been looking forward to. Which was why, when he'd all but drank everybody else under the table he had excused himself to find it. After all, everyone knew Kurogane loved to drink by now, so Fai was thinking that it would be nice to end off his wonderful evening with the only other person he knew at least stood a chance of keeping up with him. And while he was quite sure it would cost him something to get Kurogane to agree to keep his company, he'd come prepared for that.

"Oh well," he sighed out warmly as he leaned forward to open the sliding door. "I suppose it can't be helped now. At least at the end I snuck us out some treats."

The door opened and the mage stepped into the frame. Blanaced atop nimble fingers in his right hand was a tray of foods he both had and hadn't tried at the party, those which he hadn't being known favorites of Kurogane's. He lifted his left hand to show off the other treat he'd brought, two large bottles of fine sake that may or may not have been left out of the selection he'd been offered during the party. He gave the bottles a light shake as he leaned his head against his wrist on the frame of the door, a catty grin stretching his face and landing a mischevious sparkle in sapphire eyes for his 'theft'.

"Ah, look at that. A wild Kuro-chi in his natural environment. I suppose I should have guessed you would start without me since I took so long."

Kurogane jumped a bit when Fai's voice came through the rice paper, and he was glad it hadn't been opened yet. He'd just been thinking of that man's body in an incredibly lewd way, and to hear him in the same moment a loud grunt came from the room behind him was more than a little flustering. Thankfully, he managed to calm himself before the door was slid open. Unfortunately, the sight of Fai bubbled him up twice as much. Fai was a pretty man, he'd already admitted that to himself a while ago, but that form fitting outfit that suited him so fucking well only enhanced his features. He could see those hips he'd thought about grabbing perfectly hugged by embroidered silk, and Kurogane swallowed thickly. He could make out the lithe form even better than usual; but what really caught his attention, was Fai's hair. It was pulled back into a low pony tail, keeping it away from his face, and more importantly, his eyes. When did they become so... well, pretty?

"
Oh Hell yeah!" He cheered, bouncing up from his seat in an instant, then silently panicked. In a span of less than a second, Kurogane realized that he had basically just cat called the wizard, and that there was absolutely no way he was going to live it down, and then his eyes fell on the clacking bottles of Sake. Really good sake. Like the type left at shrines as gifts for Gods; and he found his out. "Now that is what I call a drink," he declared boastfully.

Kurogane stood up straight and smirked at his companion. Fai's little heist wasn't exactly out of character for him, but it certainly wasn't in character either. What a fun twist of fate. He walked over to take the bottles and pointed his thumb over his shoulder to the table in invitation. In doing so, he gave Fai a good look at him.

As opposed to Fai's tight fitting clothes, Kurogane's Yukata was loose and easy to move in, as was custom for a samurai. The dark blue pants puffed out around his legs, but the top was left to hang at the belt, exposing his torso. He was unsurprisingly muscular, with a body more toned than the usual lithe, quick form a swordsman would have. However, while his pecs were easy to see, his abs were obstructed by a long, dark happy trail that disappeared under his pants; and, with the sleeves off and one arm up and the other hand holding up the bottles, the dark bushels of hair on his pits puffed out.

His body matched his personality well. Strong, wild, untamed. "Just because I started, doesn't mean I finished. Let's drink..." There was a long second of either thought or contemplation before he finished with a wider smirk. "Pretty boy."

It was rare to see that man bubble up and become so excited about something, except of course, when it came to booze. Fai felt the heat in his system blossom even more as he saw that excited look. It made him feel appreciated, and glad that he'd brought Kuro something that he really liked for a change.

"A new nickname?" A comfortable, pleased smile found its way to Fai's face as he stood up and held the bottles out for his ever excitable companion, even as he lost himself for a moment in looking the man over. At the moment, he couldn't hide the happy feeling sitting in his chest even as a curious one was beginning to take over.

Sapphire eyes travelled their way down the swordsman's body, tracing over every muscle and feature they could grab a hold of before slowly making their way back up. Kurogane was incredibly strong, and not just physically, but mentally and spiritually as well. He didn't possess the ability to manifest magic outside of his fighting techniques, but Fai had very little doubt that if he did, he could become an amazing magic user. The man was so gruff in many ways and had a very distinct personality. And unlike the mage standing before him, he had a strong, noble heart. In a sense, there really was nothing not to like about Kuro.

For Fai though, the most distinctive feature about this man was his eyes. Even though he tried to cover it with that broodish demeanor of his, Kurogane's eyes were very open and honest. And at times that never felt like they were the best for his own sake, he could land them on you and make one feel like they could penetrate their very soul. He both liked and hated that about them.

He was invited to start drinking and it snapped him from the slight daze that watching Kuro had put him into. "Wait."

A big, cheeky grin crossed his face and he hopped forward in that hyper way of his, flopping himself against the swordsman in that same way he tended to do, while sill being careful of the tray. "Tell the truth," he cooed as he drew his face just as close as he normally did in this position.

A sly, knowing grin that usually formed just before he brutally teased the man found its way there. The question he had to ask however, was perfectly genuine. "You're a very popular fellow, aren't you Kuro-rin?"

Another 'ch' left Kurogane's mouth before he spoke, glancing away to try and hide a bit of embarrassment. "I already said it's not horrible if it makes you happy," he grumbled in a grumpy grunt. Still, he didn't look away for long. Not when he felt eyes on him. Not when he knew Fai was looking him over, and not just casually either. He couldn't help but puff up his chest a little, further accenting his muscles.

Kurogane let out a strange, strangled noise as the hyper mage leaped at him in a not so unfamiliar way; but considering his current mind set it sent his blood rushing south, and he had to steel himself in order to keep his body calm. He tilted his head back and away as Fai drew up close to him, and damn he had a pretty face. Not just his bright eyes and soft features, but now he was focused hard on the man's lips that suddenly looked so fucking kissable.

He didn't know what to do with his hands. He had a powerful urge to just wrap his arms around the blonde and pull him in tight. He wanted to feel more of that body against him. He wanted to feel more of Fai's bare skin touching his own. He settled for placing his free hand on a tempting hip, and he was thankful for the distraction in the form of a question. "No," he answered rather bluntly. "I'm not exactly the life of the party. Unlike you Fai-Pie."

A hand was placed on his hip. It was an unnervingly distracting thing. Sapphire eyes peeked down in its direction for a moment before his attention was pulled back by Kurogane's answer. He tilted his head, needing to process that for a moment (and perhaps one more moment longer than that for the giddy feeling that nickname had bubbling in him all over again). Once processed though, he couldn't help but pull away a bit himself to giggle at that response. "Is that so?"

Huffing a light sigh through a pleasant smile Fai stood back on his own, stooping down to lift the robes at his thighs to pull them up past his feet. He'd learned the hard way how difficult this yukata he had been outfitted with was to move in. "I believe you've missed my meaning," he mentioned as he moved his way over to the table to set down the tray in his hand.

"I suppose in a way, I am popular because I act very nice toward people. So then, the other way I'm popular is due to my power. Many people have wanted it over the years. However, I've never been popular in that way." He turned back to face the swordsman, lacing his fingers behind his back and swaying his hips lightly on his heels. "I just bet that even with that grumpy face of yours, at home Kuro-sama has a line of girls as long as the eye can see, each one just wanting to have him to herself."

He poked out his tongue in that teasing manner of his, but brought it back in immediately as his attention was drawn elsewhere. A noise from the other side of the wall had him looking there. A second noise had concern washing over his face. "Another fight? I've had to break up a few tonight already. Souseki doesn't seem to be around to take care of it himself."

With a huff of a sigh for the bother, Fai lifted his robes again and strolled toward the door. "Well, I've already started, so I suppose I'll have to break them up since I took on the responsibility..."

He couldn't help but watch Fai's every movement; from the glance down to the hand on his hip, to the way the blonde carefully walked toward the table, and especially the way he swayed those taunting hips. He wanted more and more to grab them, to pull Fai in tight and feel the man wiggle against him in a vastly different way. He was so focused on watching, that he almost forgot to hear. Almost.

It was a little confusing at first, and he took that brief moment of reprive from his little fantasy to place down the bottles beside the tray of food. The final sentence connected the dots for him. "Uuuhhh," a blank look came over his face as he thought back to home. He'd slept with a decent amount of people, but they had all been men; specifically swordsmen. In fact, he could distinctly remember people running off in fear as he stalked through a village. "No," he answered just as bluntly as before.

He was just about to mention that Fai was definitally popular in 'that way,' but the wizard got distracted. He would have laughed at the joke, if it weren't for the fact that it wasn't a joke. "Hold it!" he said, reaching out to quickly grab Fai's wrist and pull him back. "That's not a fight, and you really don't want to interupt them."

"Ah...?" He wasn't prepared for that. Kurogane grabbed his wrist and pulled, receiving zero resistance aside from Fai's previous momentum. It tugged him back in his steps. And while he'd pulled up the front of the long robes, he hadn't pulled up the back. He stepped onto the maleable material and it sent him slipping backward, back pressing to Kurogane's chest. He reached up quickly and grabbed a hold of the man's shoulder to support himself while he righted his footing on the floor.

Once fixed, he looked up at the man with an utterly baffled look on his face. "What do you mean? Of course they're fighting. What else could they possibly be doing making such a ruckus?"

The distressed sounds from behind the wall suddenly became more frantic and Fai pulled hard against his 'capture' despite the fact that he hadn't even fully stood up yet. "Kurogane let go. Someone could get hurt."

Kurogane tried to muffle his 'Ngh!' as Fai fell back into him. On instinct he moved in to catch the mage before he hit the ground, and this time his arms chose their position all on their own. They wrapped around Fai's waist and pulled him in tighter.

Shit. This is bad!

He could smell the sake Fai had been drinking. It was sweet and tangy, puckering his tongue and making his mouth water. He couldn't stop himself from leaning in a little to find that underlining scent that could only belong to Fai. He was jolted from his momentary haze by the argument sent his way. He had to be joking this time, right?

The grunting, moaning, and forceful thuds from their neighbors told him that they were about to reach their climax. There was no way Fai would mistake it for... The mage struggled, and Kurogane pulled him in tighter. "They’re..." He honestly couldn't believe it, but Fai definitally wasn't joking. There was genuine concern on his face. A loud, exasperated groan left his lips as his head dropped down onto Fai's shoulder. How could he possibly be this dense?!

He sighed heavily. "They aren't fighting," he stated firmly. He turned his head until he was facing Fai's neck. He breathed in, and another sort of groan tried to escape him, but he held it back. What he couldn't hide, was the the rumbling, husky tone of his voice. "They're having sex."

The arms around him tightened and his body nearly gave up its struggle then and there. He was nowhere near frantic in his struggle to get away, but the sudden betrayal of his own body startled him. And while it still wasn't frantic, the move he made to correct it was quick. Both hands instantly shot down and and snared themselves around Kurogane's wrists, ready to wrench them away even as his worry over the situation in the other room was abated as he was told for a second time that there was no fighting.

Only, he couldn't follow through. The swordsman's aura was encompasing him as he curled around him further. It sapped away his own fight in a way that was completely unsettling. Kurogane's face grew closer, and while he was more than used to that happening in the reverse, it felt completely different now. His captor took a breath of him and a heat surged through his body strong enough to make him shiver.

Don't say it like that. A shuddered breath billowed from his chest as the majority of that heat settled in his face and the rest... He pinched his eyes shut, willing himself to focus.

"They're hav..." He tried and he managed even if he couldn't fully repeat the fact. Changing the subject back to the one at hand before all of that was the only escape he had from it. Sapphire eyes turned back toward the wall and he was instantly assaulted with a heavier heat to his face as he tuned back in on their finishing noises. It was almost worse and definintly more confusing knowing what they were really doing. And besides that...

"But they're so loud. That can't be normal... right?"

Fai was reacting to him, and Kurogane's will to hold himself back was quickly dwindling. He could feel the mage shiver against him, and he wound his arms just a little tighter around his captive's waist. He splayed out his fingers to pet against the silky cloth keeping him away from the warm skin he wanted more than ever to touch. Kurogane released another long breath, the air warm and billowing over Fai's neck. Damnit... Damnit Fai was so... cute. If he didn't do something soon, he was going to go mad.

"Yeah," he answered what he thought was a broken off question; but the following question shot an electric shock straight down into his groin, and this time he couldn't stop the slight reaction in his pants. A reaction that would be felt against the man so completely trapped in his arms. "It can be," he answered before closing in and pressing his sake dampened lips against that too tempting neck. "They'll get louder," he rumbled against Fai's pulse. "Any second now-" He was cut off by a loud, blissful cry and a heated grunt of names. There were expletives and a prayer to God, and he knew that someone had just cum balls deep inside their appreciative lover.

I'm jealous.

"The louder they are, the more fun they're having." And he wanted to have that fun. No, it was more than that. He wanted to have the fun with Fai. This oblivious man in his arms was the only one he wanted; and he grew perhaps a bit too bold. One hand slid upwards, petting over the mage's chest while the other slid down. He was gentle but firm as he carefully reached between his comrade's legs to cup over his groin and gauge just how much Fai was reacting to him. "I could show you," he offered in a rumbling husk while nosing under Fai's ear. "I'll make you feel good." He darted out his tongue to get a small taste of Fai's neck. "Just say yes, and I'll show you how popular I think you are Pretty Boy."

It almost felt as if someone had put a spell on him. As the arms circling him supported him further and drew his attention back, his grip on those wrists tightened but still lacked the ability to deny him. The longer Kurogane held him, the more he spoke to him and changed each little touch he was offering, the weaker Fai's limbs were feeling; the hotter his body grew. If Kuro wasn't careful, he might make him boil. He was holding him so tight, and the mage could feel the effect he was having on the swordsman just by standing there poking into his back.

Lips pressed against his neck and sent a new wave of chills through his body as Kurogane made a prediction that quickly came to pass. It made Fai nearly jump right out of his skin. "Oh God." Whined surprise popped out of his mouth on its own and faster than he thought he could possibly move his hand shot up to clamp over his mouth, humiliation causing a new wave of heat to darken his complexion.

He didn't have long to contemplate his reaction as, amoung other things, the hands holding onto him were parting ways and trailing rippling sensitivity straight down to his groin. And then that was encompassed, causing his knees to knock and a muffled groan to escape from behind his fingers. Even though he kept his own balance he was suddenly very aware of how little it would take for him to sink to his knees if he weren't being so supported. He was already leaning so heavily against this intoxicating man. Never would he have guessed that his body was so extremely sensitive.

All he had to do was say yes and then...

The problem was that he'd never felt more vulnerable in his life. No, that wasn't true, but the weakness against Kurogane's advances and vulnerablility he did feel were insanely unnerving. He caught himself just as he'd started to nod and loosen his fingers to mindlessly agree to being allowed such a feeling; a feeling he had absolutely no right to.

He didn't deserve such a thing, right? That had to be why he steeled himself against it... right? It was what he'd always told himself but the truth was he wasn't sure anymore at the moment, and despite what he was thinking every single bit of the rest of him really wanted it. Hell, he wasn't even sure what 'it' fully entailed. Just that Kurogane had promised it would feel good. So because he couldn't be sure whether he deserved it or not, he decided to find out quickly. He figured he must be hoping a little more than normal.

Several huffing breaths were needed to calm himself down enough to think straight enough to ask an intelligent question with a definite enough answer for what he wanted. Fai parted his fingers and just missed containing a light whimper, but pressed on anyway. "Before I decide if I want to keep going, can you answer a question for me?"

He turned his head to face entirely away from those crimson eyes that could sometimes read him so well, a learned defense mechanism as a new bit of nervousness joined in with the rest and a worry settled in the back of his mind over what came next if the answer he wanted wasn't what he got. The hand that was still holding Kuro's wrist tightened its grip slightly and despite a natural need to hide away in the moment, he found himself leaning just a bit heavier against the strong body backing him up. "Do you trust me?"
