Ningguang wasn’t in a position to pout, the fans and the love of her life were watching; she planned to complain about it when it was just the two of them. She wore a debutante smile, waving to the bystanders, because she was ecstatic to be at the Valentine’s festival. A model citizen that any of the impressionable children could aspire to be like. She worked so damn hard connecting the mallet with the pressure plate, a task more difficult than it appeared! And judging by the force alone, she should have scored gold - Deguchi clearly needed to run some maintenance on his highstrike machine. But, Beidou was supportive - happy with her third tier victory, complimenting Ningguang and tugging on her low back. Ningguang ceased ogling at her lady’s beautiful lips and up to her eye-patch, only sparing a glance at the multiple stuffies lined up for her choosing. Her sea-beastie slaying beaux was more excited than she’d expected, and over the moon to find a special one that sorta resembled her in another life, or dimension.

“I suppose it does look like me, darling.” Ningguang approved, her cheek pressing into Beidou’s sternum and her dainty wrist rising. Pointing her cuffed finger and asking silently, or rather commanding Deguchi, to nab the velveteen vulpine toy for them. Deguchi ascended a step stool to reach the specific plushie Beidou asked for, and he handed it over to the couple. She collected the toy and stepped around the highstrike machine. All eyes shift to the couple that showed up arm in arm to play the ancient game. Their presence attracted droves of aspiring strongmen and women, and old love birds desiring to test their strength and impress someone special. The nayamons were a hit, too. Now that Ningguang owned a plushie in her likeness - everyone wanted to own one just like it. Sadly for them, it was one of a kind, and all the more unique since it truly belonged to Beidou. She maneuvered to the forefront, surveying the captain's muscles all bunched up beneath fabric, those generous biceps cinching the sleeves while Beidou slammed the mallet onto the base. The victory bell, er… alarm rang and the crowd erupted into clapping. Ningguang joined in; palm meeting plushie, covering its marble eyes. Her partially parted lips, and irises glittering with adoration when Beidou returned to her side in an even better mood now that she beat everyone’s score. “Lucky…” As if Ningguang wasn’t there when Beidou brought down the kraken, or pulled her from the ocean while carrying that massive claymore on her back. She, of course, was aware that what Beidou achieved was more than luck. Her performance exudes strength - that was just the kind of arm candy she needed at her side. If she had to leave with one trophy - then she was sticking with Beidou.

Deguchi’s marketing pitch blended into the clamor; the chatter surrounding the Captain of the Crux, and the Tianquan of Liyue. Now was her turn to choose a nayamon of her own, Ningguang’s palms pressing onto the wooden flat top, talons clicking and clacking in an unexpected rhythm. From amongst the stuffed animal hybrids, a sleek, black plushie with showy gold rings around its eyes and reflective red marbles for irises. The stuffy appealed to Ningguang’s love of cute animals, but it truly reminded her of someone close to her. “That one… That one is perfect.” Embracing the floppy-eared toy, her hand rests over Beidou’s bicep, a guiding touch as the Tianquan blushing in pink hues ushered her down the petal laden path.

“Is it just me, or is that game hard work?” Ningguang fluffed the feathery, fur collar lining her qipao, knowing a hair or two moved out of place during the high strike game. A dewy cast on her cheek bones intermingled with her complexion, leaving her positively glowing beneath the illuminated pink lantern. “Perhaps, Deguchi should be paying us to play and promote it for him. ” She pointed out, a vampish glance at her esteemed lover and her chin tilted upward at the captain. Holding her big-eared prize by the handles, Ningguang enclosed Beidou in a warm hug and nuzzled the plush flesh hidden behind a cream vest. A business woman saw her value in every move she made, but tonight - the marketers, vendors, and restaurants were safe from her mora grabbing claws. She only wanted to spend time with her beaux, eat delicious foods, and compete in silly games for cute prizes. “The venerable Captain of the Crux, and the most powerful woman in Liyue.” Ningguang attached herself to Beidou's arm, a light hold, an elegant, yet careful gait as they walked behind other festival goers.

“Ningdou doesn’t roll off the tongue the way I would like it to. What should our couple name be?” Ningguang’s irises glistening, an idea forming - the light switch turning on. “Ningdou, or Beigguang?" As she probed Beidou for her final decision, Ningguang glanced from stall to stall, her eyes growing wider with every pass over meat skewers, fish, and candied apples. "Oh. That smells delightful." And what was Beidou saying. She couldn't hear it over the sound of her stomach growling. Ningguang's nose pointed in the direction of the Wanmin restaurant, lower lip quivering for a split second. "I'm partial to Ningdou. But, I may choose differently if you buy me all the Qiankun Mora Meat I can stomach."

Darling? That was new. It appeared Beidou wasn’t the only one doing that pet name schtick. She rather liked it - whilst bathing in the public eye, anyway. They both knew Ningguang only had one nickname for Beidou in private. The good Captain was perceptive. She had no doubt in her mind that their participation in the Valentine's Festival served at least dual functions. On one hand, a chance to simply kick back, unwind and bask in the festivities. And on the other hand… A subtle smirk tugged at her lips as an arm slid against hers, nail guards settling over her bicep.

Why, Beidou liked to think that she knew Ningguang pretty well, even if there remained fathoms more yet unexplored. Which was to say, Ningguang was absolutely the possessive sort. Proof was written in the immense headway they made as soon as Beidou pledged the requisite loyalty requested of her. Her snowy-maned vixen was quick to mark her territory with more than claw marks and hickies, that was for sure. And so, this was equal parts celebration, and equal parts declaration. Ningguang wanted to proclaim Beidou as off-limits, a sentiment Beidou wouldn’t have ordinarily found endearing, but in this case, did. Archons, Juza was going to have a field day ribbing her later.

As to the chosen Nayamon, Beidou had less to say, but not in a bad way. The mischief in those sanguinary eyes resonated, and gold and black was, judging off of her usual qipao, quite obviously a color scheme she enjoyed. Could it have been a little bigger, a little fiercer, with cute little fangs instead of a cute little blep? Probably, but she wasn’t about to complain. “We’ll find a place for them when we go back, yeah?” Back being to the Jade Chamber. She wasn’t going to admit it, but she had already stayed longer than she had originally planned to. The more cumbersome work on the Alcor had already completed, but Beidou found herself too addicted to Ningguang’s company to quit.

It wasn’t a permanent address, but it was about as close to a permanent address as she had on land, er, sky (?), which was terrifying and exhilarating all at once. “Maybe on your desk? Or in a bookshelf cubicle?” Beidou hadn’t brought many things to the Jade Chamber beyond herself. Her greatsword, a weapon care kit, and some change of clothing. That was…about it. More hadn’t been necessary, but she supposed she could start small. Stuffies. That seemed cute. And relationship-y. Definitely couldn’t claim to be an expert on that last one but, goddammit she was Beidou, world-class chef of fried calamari fame, and absolutely determined to nail this relationship thing.

So deep in her thoughts, Beidou lost the chance to retort in line, and instead held her tongue while Ningguang sprouted adorable theories about couple names. Now, food, that was a sentiment she absolutely could get behind. “Isn’t Qiankun mora meat your specialty? Don’t tell me you think Xiangling makes it better.” Nevertheless, even as she spoke, she was already proceeding in the general direction of the Wanmin restaurant, Ningguang in tow. “Let’s go then, I could use a bite too.”

They scarcely crossed the threshold before being greeted by the enthusiastic Chef Mao, who, despite his title, now found himself primarily in the front of house role, leaving the kitchen to his young and perky offspring. Unfortunately however, the place was absolutely jam packed. Every table in sight was occupied by rowdy families and murmuring couples, decorated with vases of orchids and mood candles. The overcrowding didn’t concern Beidou, however. She had already known that this would be the case, being a regular here and one of Xiangling’s original taste-testers. “Mao-shifu, business sure is booming,” she greeted warmly, causing the proud restaurateur to grin from ear to ear. “Ah, Captain Beidou, Lady Ningguang, it is good to see you both.” Responding in kind, he inclined his head with politeness. “And you as well,” Beidou offered Ningguang a chance to add in her greeting, before continuing, “I trust that you remember the special accommodations I requested?” She wasn’t looking at him though. No, that flash of her pearly whites was reserved entirely for Ningguang. “Of course, of course, right this way.”

The second floor of the restaurant was as busy as the first, but the sectioned off VIP suites were quite a bit quieter. Usually outfitted with a large circular table fit to house upwards of a dozen guests, this one instead contained just a single cherrywood table. Lacquered to a vibrant reddish hue, the table was already set up with exactly two placemats and a vase of gorgeous long-stemmed roses. The round lattice windows were curtained with half-sheer blinds, offering a shrouded view into the city below. The room was otherwise dimmed, twin red candles casting the room in warm tangerine and joyful halcyon, a fitting ambience for this most romantic holiday. The flames flickered as flames were wont to do, their shadows projecting tall and handsome against the far wall. Not the only thing that was tall and handsome, the other stepping up to the plate and pulling a chair out for Ningguang.

Gesturing, Beidou offered a self-satisfied grin, verging on insolent. “So, I believe we are in agreement on Beiguang?” Couldn’t leave it off there, of course. As Ningguang moved to sit, she leaned in and added, breath warm against a blush-tinged ear. “You know calligraphy better than I, so surely you would agree that it is more aesthetic for the 光 to be positioned beneath the 北.” There was no malice there, not even a competitive streak, but pure mischief, like that Nayamon Ningguang chose.

ningguang1.png

Developing hunger aside, Ningguang was adaptable enough to sit in a crowded restaurant; if it meant being cramped up with Beidou while being fed delicious foods. She was kidding about Beidou feeding her Qiankun Mora meat, but side-eyed her for that quip about Xiangling cooking better than her. It was her specialty after all, but the Tianquan couldn’t be bothered to prepare a meal on the spot. Ningguang’s blonde locks ruffled as she nodded her gratitude to Chef Mao, the gentleman kind enough to abandon his station to greet his honorable patrons. Beidou’s comment added a rosy hue to Ningguang’s glowing cheeks, and her brows scrunched in clear disapproval of the lusty implications.

As Chef Mao led the way, Ningguang appreciated the romantic decorations and the thought that went into this date. Sitting her perky backside on the cherry wood, a perfect view out of the window pane curtained in linen; pink topiary and dangling bulbs illuminated in pale mauve. The low back drop of her dress bathed her milky complexion in similar colors, highlighting the arch of her back. Another angle from which people watch, their silhouettes appearing like shadows. White strands captured an aura of sunset and fuschia that matched the rose lights, and she hid her smile, an overzealous gasp as her Captain’s voice whispered to her. Delighting her vellus hairs and tickling the nerve endings snuggled away. Ningguang yearned to lean into the touch, ached for at least a kiss. She wished she was impervious to the playful whispers and idle touches that her girlfriend was oh-so generous with, the heated exhales and purr of her voice tantalizing and pulling her in another direction. “It does look best on the bottom, but on special occasions the characters should alternate.” Ningguang shivered sporadically, where eyes and ears were sparse thanks to the reservation in the upper, exclusive dining area. Beidou always outdid herself, aimed to impress - even on the eve of her birthday celebration. There was the addendum as her payment for Beidou accompanying her to the Valentine’s Day festival, and making this their day, but Ningguang loved compromise. "Beigguang it is."

Simple enough.
Were her words that day, while sketching the five-piece lace number for Beidou’s late night celebration and gift, mailing it to Sumeru to be sewn in a special order. That specific shade and material would only be found by a vendor or two with an eye for fine details and exquisite luxury. She would explain how expensive the whole outfit is, how it’s practically art, and ask Beidou not to tear it off when the time was right. Again, compromise happened to be Ningguang’s strong suit, which is why her laws were so fair and why her approval rating was at least sixty percent.

“For now, I don’t want to ruin your surprise...” Ningguang respected Beidou enough not to torture her with any imagery or hints. Interlacing her fingers and resting her hands on her lap, Ningguang scanned the menu, clicking heels and clinking glasses adding a necessary ambiance as she looked over her menu. A waitress jotted their order without any frills or conversations, and Ningguang lifted her hand to finger the heart trinket hanging at her breasts. Did it help that Ningguang was solely interested in her date? Hard to imagine that her thoughts hadn’t drifted to Osial. For the first time in a long time, she felt comfortable, and she attributed that to Beidou’s presence at the Jade Chamber. She used to ask the Archons to watch over Beidodu - to offer her safe passage back to land. The Alcor being temporarily out of commission was a blessing to her. Though she pondered…

“My captain…I have been curious.” Ningguang sang with familiarity, though Beidou was certainly more than her captain. “With the repairs coming to an end, when do you next expect to stretch your sea legs?” The servers at Wanmin must have expedited their service due to the holiday occasion. The Qiankun Mora meat looked decadent and well-done, just how she asked for it. A complimentary bottle of creamy rice wine was her drink of her choice, and she wanted to toast. She wouldn't overdo it, not when the night was just getting started. A porcelain saucer painted with orchids to match the flowers in the centerpiece was promptly brimming with sake. She babied the full-bodied sake, sipping and instantly heated by the sweet mixture. It was probably best to post-pone this conversation, but she wanted to hear about Beidou's plans for the future. "You won't be leaving any time soon, right?" Ningguang nonchalantly picked up her chopsticks, straight faced, as she poked at the Qiankun Mora Meat she just begged to be delivered into her belly.

ʙᴇɪᴅᴏᴜ
A fan of compromise, and an incurable tease. That was the Tianquan of Liyue, though Beidou doubted that the citizens of Liyue Harbor were particularly familiar with the second part. Because how did they go from an absolutely innocent conversation about calligraphy - innuendos, who, Beidou? Never! - to hinting at the promised ‘surprise’? In truth, it was definitely something she had thought about. Squinted her good eye and all that when Ningguang stretched and exerted herself on the High Striker, but to no avail. That very pink, very stylish, and very tight qipao very unfortunately covered just enough to deny her any hints at what laid beneath. She would not complain. An absolute trust in her love’s fashion sense aside, waiting to uncover her spectacularly wrapped present was an indispensable part of the fun.

Instead, she preoccupied herself with the menu, only looking up to meet Ningguang’s eyes when addressed. To her credit, Beidou hadn’t even looked at the waitress long enough to assess if the same girl was cute or not. She was on her best behavior, without a doubt, at least where faithfulness was concerned. The other areas remained to be seen. But besides, who had time to be looking at anyone else when candlelight danced across the fluffed ruffle, highlighted the definition of cheekbones and warmed imperial red to a more nuanced blend of peach and berry. Two weeks or a day, it made no difference. Beidou’s gaze would always be admiring when studying Ningguang - just about the only thing she could be bothered to study, come to think of it.

The question proved difficult to answer, mostly because there was a name she wanted to avoid. She doubted either of them would forget that Osial loomed at large any time soon, but that was a problem for tomorrow’s Beidou. Today, she wasn’t interested in being the folk hero of Liyue, not on this auspicious holiday that she had only celebrated properly once prior. And so, she waved the question off in between bites, addressing only the most relevant part. “Why, you are not kicking me out, are you?” She flashed a suitably charming grin, observant enough to pick up clues of Ningguang’s unease and tackling it head on with playful humor. “Not any time soon.” And, because she wanted to be earnest, “I’m waiting for the rest of my fleet to dock. Should be within the next two weeks or so. But we can talk business another day, yes?”

Unsurprisingly, her meal was simple. Meat, vegetables, and an overabundance of jueyun chili stir-fried to hot and sizzling perfection. The only thing notable about the otherwise folksy meal was the pepper cut out in the shape of an anchor and the onion that doubled as a helm. Special touches that made Wanmin restaurant a favorite of hers. Drink wise, she didn’t like to fix what wasn’t broken, and so, storm wine it was. It was definitely stronger than Ningguang’s drink of choice. She would know, because she stole a saucer over the course of the meal. But one small cask of storm wine wouldn’t do much beyond giving her a pleasant buzz, which was all she was looking for. See: ‘best behavior’. At least until she gets to unwrap her present, anyway.

“What do you want to do after this? I spied a goldfish scooping stand while we were walking over.” Ruminating on the thought, she added. “Actually, coming to think of it, I’ve never owned a pet before. A goldfish seems…easy enough. I think?”

“There!” Wrist flicked lightning fast, and bamboo spliced water with agility and precision. Unfortunately, the poi, semi-translucent paper stuck on a rim of bamboo with a teeny tiny handle, torn straight down the middle, and the gold-orange fish Beidou had her eye on swam to safety. “Aww, come on.” The Uncrowned Lord of the Ocean, Slayer of Haishan, crossed her arms and grimaced at the broken scooper, staring daggers at the disobedient fish. Well, a fish. There were so many rapidly darting squiggles of orange and black it was really impossible to tell which fish she was even trying to scoop. That was her second scooper, and Beidou was not having a field day. The stall owner was saying something about gentleness and patience being necessary, given how fragile the paper was, but Beidou was not having it. She looked over at Ningguang instead, gesturing vaguely at the tank of goldfish.

"Give it a go?”

The quick-witted, eternally cool captain of the Crux always knew the right phrase, and the perfect look to ease pesky doubts that the over analytical Tianquan conjured in her head. That silver tongue was arguably one of, if not Beidou’s best talents. After all, Beidou was to thank for providing Liyue harbor with added security, wrangling her fellow pirates seamen to make landfall in defense of its people. Her gaze narrowed as they fell upon Beidou, and her sparkling garnets softened in amusement. There was one occasion in recent days, that Ningguang recalled asking her assistants to show Beidou the way out of her office, and she wondered if that specific occasion stood out to Beidou. Utterly besotted with her love, a blissful warmth spread over her chest as she gazed lovingly across the table at the captain. All dressed up and decked out to the Archons; it made her sick. Truly, she was quite seasick that the sea pirate turned noble captain whisked her away for a weekend, and the stern, never flustered Tianquan returned a pile of mush and rose petals. But truly, it saddened her to imagine the Alcor setting sail while she remained in Liyue. Without embracing the spirit of melancholy, Ningguang lifted her elegant chin, her glossy pout upturned, and an empty saucer re-filled. Their mood-candle lit dinner refreshed Ningguang, left her hanging over the moon with her girl. She devoured her meal, planned to have dessert at home, but guessed her snack of choice would be more spicy than sweet. A chili and storm wine fusion, something never seen or experienced before. Dabbing her mouth dry with a pristine towelette, she added her agreement to check out the goldfish scooping stand. She wasn’t a professional by any means, but she excelled in activities where patience was required to win. She waved her good-byes to Chef Mao and Xiangling; squeezed through the restaurant goers and old friends.

Water splashed from afar, pelting the heart-shaped window to her chest and misting her face. It wasn’t Beidou’s fault, though she was a likely culprit with how she slashed in an attempt to subdue the water, hoping to snag a pet. Goldfish scooping was chaotic and active… If Beidou’s reaction was anything to go by. Also, the wettest, but that wasn’t what surprised her. Ningguang’s bosom appeared to vibrate against the pink silk constricting her bust as an airy laugh left her lips. She wasn’t laughing at Beidou - hadn’t giggled once when the goldfish wriggled between Beidou’s rice paper net and converged with the mass of glittering fish. Ningguang concealed her smug smile behind a pink feather fan - a souvenir bought on the way to the goldfish game.

“Keep at it, Beidou!”

Obviously Beidou’s talents were better suited for strong-man contests and hurling heavy objects, but she could do this, too. A second handle split into two, and Ningguang peered over her shoulder, at the pretty red lights and trees gilded in paper hearts. She didn’t want Beidou to know that she witnessed her destroying yet another poi, though it was an improvement for Beidou since the last time. Despite Beidou calling for Ningguang to have a turn, she staked her bets on Beidou grabbing at least one fish.

Ningguang’s dampened footfalls clicked over the pavement, as she stopped beside Beidou to examine the shallow bin filled with goldfish. “万事开头难.” Ningguang reminded her lover of a very important proverb, lifting her hand and raising her index finger as if to drive the point home. Said finger wiggled in front of Beidou’s nose, which she tapped on the tip, before setting down her fan - plushies set on the sidelines. “Let me help you.” Ningguang pulled her gloves taut over her elbows, swept the length of the coveted gossamer over her shoulders to keep it out of the way.

The shop owner handed Ningguang a poi of her own. He was entertained by the spectacle, patiently waited, and waited for the famous Beidou to secure at least two fish for herself and her date, but blundered the first attempt so poorly, he knew she couldn’t catch one. Though the poi were dirt cheap and it wasn’t a hassle at all to replace them, he cringed every time Beidou snapped one. What surprised him was how the Tianquan stood directly behind Beidou, and he watched with a deeply invested intrigue.

Her frontside was pressing completely into Beidou, arms loosely around her waist and rubbing her cheek on the crook of her neck. The poi held by her was promptly fitted between Beidou’s hand, though there seemed to be some resistance.
“Not just speed and precision, my love…” Ningguang's volume kept to a whisper, and her voice honeyed as it floated against her ear. Her hand was smaller than Beidou’s as her digits stretched down her wrist, tickling the soft skin for a passing second. Did her girlfriend need a quick pick me up after sorely losing? Probably, but Ningguang’s goal was to help Beidou take home a goldfish, and that is what she would do. She had preached to Beidou the importance of going slow, taking one’s time, but the captain rushed in every time. With her cheek resting on Beidou’s shoulder, she was only just able to see over and into the tank. But, she felt the water on the net and Beidou’s pulse on her palm. Maybe it was her own.

“Like this…” On the count of ‘this’, Ningguang moved her hand along Beidou’s, feeling the water and the waves pulling on her flimsy net. She didn’t scoop, not yet, only demonstrated the gentle motion required to win. “Try now.” Ningguang moved with Beidou, chin pointing into her shoulder as she tip-toed in her heels for a clear view of the action. “That one right there. Let’s go for it.” There was no haste, Ningguang led by example. She braced herself, rolling her lips together slowly; focusing in on a fancy black, white, and orange goldfish with bulbous eyes encompassing much of its skull. It didn’t look like the prettiest pet, but it was adorable enough to take home. “Hah.” Ningguang exhaled softly as their poi moved through the water, in unison - total synergy. As they gathered the goldfish together, a tranquil wave rippled over her, and she pulled the net up.“La-ta! We did it, captain!” It was like a song, how she announced their success. "You did it."

ʙᴇɪᴅᴏᴜ
Beidou could a lot of things. Could, for example, behave, when she wanted to. Emphasis on the last part. It went without saying that she could scoop a goldfish - or a dozen - for the right kind of motivation. The shopkeeper was droning on, something about entering slowly and moving gently, but she wasn’t listening. That wasn’t her style, and she certainly wasn't about to change for something as paltry as a goldfish.

But, when Ningguang spoke, and more importantly, leaned in close enough to connect with her via multiple points of contact, those preposterous notions suddenly sounded much more reasonable. If anyone else quoted proverbs at Beidou, she probably would have just flashed that signature grin, nodded agreeably, and allowed the words to flow into one ear and instantly out of the other ear. That whole entering slowly and moving gently thing? Suddenly made so much more sense with a guiding touch upon her wrist, a silken purr in her ear, and of course, that tantalizing curvature squishing into her back. To the Tianquan of Liyue, the notorious Captain gave her rapt attention. Although admittedly less to the content of the words and more to the kittenish affections, to the way they fluttered her pulse and had her licking at her lips in anticipation of more.

Very much distracted, Beidou didn’t protest either the speed nor the rhythm. Total synergy was one way to look at it. The other being that she had been provided ample motivation to attempt this mini game properly. “Hey, will you look at that,” she offered cheerfully in response to Ningguang’s enthusiasm. The shopkeeper went through the motions of transporting the goldfish to its own separate little baggy, but Beidou didn’t pay him any attention. Instead, she caught Ningguang’s wrist with that same hand, and this time, it was her turn to guide Ningguang. Through the motions of a pivot. Her other arm snaked around the slender waist, letting go of the guided hand to pull her girl close instead.

Beidou wouldn’t give Ningguang a chance to hesitate, to think through the consequences and settle on something appropriately decorous. Instead, in true outlaw fashion, she swept forward and simply captured those candied lips with her own. It was a quick kiss, nothing that would scandalize the masses beyond providing confirmation of what they already suspected. Not that the masses would be privy to the absolutely cheeky way she nipped upon Ningguang's bottom lip. And oh, how sweet it was, for truly, nothing could rival something she plundered. Beidou grinned from ear to ear, as smug as a flower thief, before murmuring under her breath. “Our shared triumph over the elusive goldfish deserved a celebration, no?” It was incredibly exaggerated, but the humor in her eye sold the piece. “Although, I must credit my accomplishment to a most excellent teacher.” She squeezed the waist she was holding, forearm flexing against the small of back. “They say the best lessons are taught by repetition.” Her voice dipped, the suggestive whisper reserved for Ningguang’s ear alone. “I think I will need another lesson later, in private, about the importance of taking one’s time, to really drive the lesson home, hm?”

ningguang1.png

Ningguang swirled in her pink slippers, bleached and shiny strands fluttering down her backside and over Beidou’s arm, effectively sending tingles up her spine. Perhaps it was the kiss imparted on her recently glossed lips that left her peering through the curtain of her white lashes, seeing who was seeing. Everyone in Liyue knew, right? New couple, newly in love, but Ningguang’s reservations could not easily be dismissed or worked through. The girl, the kiss, that was all she wished for. Now, she owned it, and everything that came along with that. The Tianquan offered an appreciative smile in response to Beidou’s well-timed humor. She folded her arms around her love’s neck, tilted her head toward the whispering against her ear. Just the sound of Beidou’s voice caused those sensations to bubble to the top, like those fancy drinks imported from Fontaine. Being in close proximity to Beidou created feelings of intoxication, but that may have been the rice wine talking.

“Your patience rivals mine now.” Ningguang leaned into Beidou, mouth gently brushing the captain’s ear as she seductively whispered. “Now that you know to go slow, I can finally let you go fast.” There was no ‘letting’, because Beidou could do as she saw fit, and often did. She raked her digits, nail guards included, through the fine hair at Beidou’s nape. Charmed to be in Beidou’s presence, Ningguang nuzzled the captain’s cheek and calmly separated from her side. She explored the multiple pathways they could travel next, and spied a romantic sign dancing with sea animals and the famous seawheel. Ningguang nearly forgot all about it, being that she was too excited to eat at Wanmin’s and watch Beidou swing heavy things around.

With her girlfriend’s slightly rougher hand in her own, Ningguang peered upwards at the dazzling bulbs hanging overhead. She led the way down the starry and flowery path, to the opposite end of the docks where it looked to be deserted. Ningguang carelessly lost track of the time, and hadn't noticed that most of the families and couples cleared out from the festival. Though she extended the curfew for the night, people were accustomed to their regular schedules. The seawheel operator appeared bored, like he needed the company of the Tianquan of Liyue and the infamous Haishan slayer.

“Good evening.” Ningguang greeted the operator, a charming smile on her lips. “We would like a front row seat to view the wonders of the sea.” She glanced sheepishly over her shoulder, to Beidou, and settled on the operator once more.“And I believe that there are no other riders, so perhaps we could sit under the sea for a moment longer than usual?” Ningguang’s authoritative tone suggested that it was a request.

There was nothing left to discuss, the operator agreed respectfully. “Yes, Lady Ningguang.”

Ningguang’s request was fulfilled; the massive wheel broke the glittering waves, eight individual carriers attached to a giant helm. The lights flashed and raced in a not-so romantic way, but the nostalgia hit her hard. A fully waterproof pod opened in a way that always seemed otherworldly, like it didn’t belong in Liyue, or the sea. Ningguang stepped off the pier and into the pod, wondering how she didn’t trip. Inside the seawheel carrier, a single seat on either side, though two ambitious butts could fit on one seat. “If you need something to hold onto, Captain…” Ningguang did not finish her sentence, rather, placed her hand on Beidou’s knee, squeezing tightly.

It paid to be friendly. Or at least, that was what Beidou assumed to be the case when she took a small detour to hunt down one Baiwen, who was definitely just browsing candied apples at a nearby stall and not keeping an eye on Liyue’s hottest new couple. Liyue’s publishing house could not hope to rival Inazuma’s, but those printing presses were nevertheless churning, whether inking official publications or the gossip columns. Either way, they were without a doubt front and center on the latest issue, especially after today. A short conversation and an exchange of candied apples later, Baiwen agreed to ferry their loot up to the Jade Chamber, leaving Beidou’s hands free for more important business.

Like holding Ningguang’s hand. It was a simple thing, but joy was often found in the simple things. Whereas her bedpost notches easily exceeded a hundred, Beidou could count on one hand how many times she willingly held someone else’s hand. Hers were warmer than Ningguang's, rougher, too, on account of her only-sometimes-legal maritime activities. But it was the perfect size to lace with those far more delicate digits, palm against palm. If Ningguang had a rough childhood, the same was not reflected in her skin. Unfair genetics or an impeccable beauty routine? Who cares? It was hers either way.

Back to the attraction at hand, Beidou had to admit that she was impressed. Liyue wasn’t quite as technologically advanced as, say, Fontaine, when it came to hydro-based technology. But still, in her lifetime alone, Liyue had already advanced leaps and bounds. Some might even credit the Qixing for their impeccable management. She felt a swell of pride at that thought. Appreciating Ningguang’s brilliance would have to wait for another day though, because what she sought to appreciate at present was something else entirely.

Squeezing her way into the pod even as Ningguang was in the midst of situating herself, Beidou offered only a lopsided grin in warning before bodily scooping Ningguang up. Lifting her was easy. Ensuring that nothing connected with a hard surface was more challenging, but the seasoned outlaw managed it with gusto. Plopping herself down in the seat closest to the door, she deposited Ningguang’s rear squarely in her lap, an arm braced behind Ningguang’s shoulders for support. “Well, you did ask if I needed something to hold onto. The answer is yes, I do.” She squeezed her arm for emphasis, keeping her girl tightly corralled against her torso. With her free hand, she pulled the pod door close, sectioning them off from the seawheel operator doing his best to not gawk.

“I have to say, that surprised me,” her free hand drifted down into Ningguang’s lap, resting innocently over a thigh. “Asking for a special favor with that bossy tone…the meddling sort might accuse you of abusing your position, you know?” Her grin made it clear that she was far from chiding Ningguang, the heckling entirely in good humor. The wheel creaked, before beginning its slow and steady churn, and Beidou chuckled as their pod slowly ascended toward the starlit sky. The windows on either side offered the perfect view, but her gaze was already fixated on an even more perfect view. “Why, they might even say I’m rubbing off on ya.”

Hot pink rushed to the round of Ningguang’s cheeks as her girlfriend’s brawny arms ambushed around the curve of her waist. Her legs shamefully turned to mung bean jelly whenever Beidou boldly swept her off her intricate slippers and placed, or planted her into a new location. One arm encircled her soft midriff, her free hand cupping over Beidou’s knuckles. She arched her back away from her love’s stiff exterior, out of respect for the sea wheel operator whose eyes were glued to their every move. Her insides twisted at the idea that any of this would be news tomorrow, that she added kerosene to the fire by moseying up to Beidou, bullying a helpless sea wheel operator for near after hours rides. But, holy Archons, the feeling of her plush derriere on Beidou’s lap caused a small, woozy spell to take over. With the pod door shut, Ningguang let down her guard. She leaned into her love, back side pressing into Beidou’s torso and shifting her weight to her bottom center. An acute tickling sprinted down her abdomen and between her thighs, and out of respect for her high standing as a member of the Qixing, Ningguang rested her hand over the one innocently making its way down her bare thigh.

The heightened slits on her qipao provided little in the way of protection, and Ningguang identified Beidou’s greatsword sandwiched underneath her rear. Her gaze thinned into lines as she angled her slender neck, and faced Beidou as best she could with her posterior smushed into her lap. “You? Rubbing off on me?” Ningguang removed her hand from her thighs, reaching up and wrapping it around the nape of Beidou’s neck. Inky threads of silk flowed over the spaces between her gentle digits, and bunched it up in her palm. “Have your impressions of me changed?” Ningguang’s garnet irises locked on Beidou’s expression, analyzing her soft lips and her eyebrows, because they were shaped perfectly. “Because I am involved in a dangerous affair with a pirate, I believe I may have picked up a trade or two.” She quietly sucked in air, bosom rising and falling as she audibly exhaled. She peered up, past her girlfriend, and at the starry night sky.

Where her fingers interlocked with Beidou’s hair, Ningguang pulled her down a smidgen to kiss the captain on the lips tenderly. “I love you.” It felt as though the night was nearing its end, but the true fun was only beginning. The sea wheel moved and descended into the water, and Ningguang’s buoyant hips slid over Beidou’s lap in a discrete motion, front and to the side. Forward and backwards in unhurried motions. “A stunning view - would you agree?” She separated from her lover’s torso, surveying the surrounding seas with a feigned interest. Her digits found Beidou’s, uncertain of where they were headed. “Unfortunately, I think they prefer we observe and not touch.” Ningguang said, glancing over her shoulder and embedding herself further into her lover's lap. Her belly tensed with repressed excitement, and she reared her hips, pushing her shapely rear tight into Beidou's midsection.

“Happy birthday, Captain.”

What a difficult woman. Balking at the idea that their coupling might make the morning headlines, and yet simultaneously demanding matching outfits? Because that - the Tianquan’s newest fashion escapade, now featuring one shockingly cooperative outlaw - that wasn’t going to be dominating the news cycle already? Either way, the damage was already done, so might as well enjoy the present, right? The hand drifting over hers arrested Beidou’s adventurous touch, having already encroached a smidgen beneath the hemline of Ningguang’s qipao. Her thumb circled against the bare skin, venturing no higher, but wholly uninterested in moving away.

Beidou met the narrowed gaze with a self-satisfied grin, and could not help but compare that expression to the cats that often lounged around the harbor. And, for the briefest moment, she considered slow blinking at Ningguang, just to see what kind of reaction she might get, but that particular brand of mischief was halted by the arm looping around her neck. “My impression of you?” Instead, she smiled warmly beneath the assessing gaze, humming in contemplation. “I don’t know if that’s changed - I’ve always respected your knack for mastering any subject you devoted yourself to, so certainly, your ability to pick up bits and pieces of say…’sailing’, does not surprise.” One day, she ought to take Ningguang sailing under more exacting conditions, but after the looming threat was dealt with first.

The cautioning hand fell away, and her own drew higher still even as she appreciated the kiss for what it was. “Mm,” in the relative dark, there was a dangerous glint to her narrowed jasper. “Love you too, sweetheart.” Her hand gripped the inside of thigh, thumb ascending near the juncture, a fraction away from acquiring hints about her promised surprise. Beidou’s breathing deepened, entirely unconvinced by Ningguang’s professed interest in…in what, bubbles churning from the seawheel’s motions, or the schools of fish that swam closer, attracted by the fluorescent lights? It was nothing she hadn't seen before, though she wouldn't say that outloud to spoil Ningguang’s fun. Rather, Beidou was far more invested in the titillating weight in her lap, in those discrete movements that simulated the natural buoyancy of the sea. Hey, it was like they went sailing again after all.

“They?” She huffed a quiet laugh, finding her hand detained for a second time. “I don’t see any they here, do you?” Rather than fighting against Ningguang’s hold, which they both knew she could break easily, Beidou instead cupped Ningguang’s cheek and guided her into another kiss. This one was deeper, longer, hungrier. The tailored tightness of her pants struggled in vain to mask the swelling girth of her appreciation for the ‘stunning view’. An unsubtle shape and heat rearing up against with equally unsubtle intent.

“Think about what might happen, my beloved, if I sampled my birthday present here and then,” she squeezed her fingers for emphasis, growling into the tailend of that kiss. “Would make our trip back far more interesting, wouldn’t you say?” Ningguang might’ve picked up a new trade or two, but Beidou was the pirate, and board games weren’t the only thing she could readily match Ningguang in. She kept close, breaths hot against Ningguang’s lips, considering another kiss. “Would you still be able to walk with your famous poise,” her nails teased against the smoothness of skin, leaving faint lines, “knowing that if you are not careful, the remnants of our time here - that I - might drip down your thighs?” It was a threat she didn’t intend upon fulfilling, though whether Ningguang could tell that or not was questionable with the excitable way Beidou’s unruly serpent flexed against her plush rear. "And would they even blame me, with how beautiful you are, like a snack made just for me?"

Noble captain? They ought to correct those misconceptions at some point, no? Now was as good a time as any.

Catching her girlfriend’s wrists and arms mid-act was just one of the new skills that developed when dating such a handsy and hands-on pirate. Ningguang was fast, but Beidou’s speed rivals that of an adeptus. The pirate owned the cunning of a seasoned business-woman, and the musculature of an Archon. Was it safe to assume that Ningguang’s heels were sufficiently over her head? She only prayed that would be the position Beidou put her in come midnight. She locked into a kiss that arched her back and stirred a purr in her perky bosom, a reserved zeal in comparison to the way Beidou indulged in her lips. It must be the new lip gloss that she tasted or the way her backside fit perfectly on her lap. A flirty smile spread onto her mouth, a flaming sensation coursing down her sacrum. Half-opened eyes ceaselessly searching the jasper iris. “They? They are everywhere.” Not to mention the Archons, one or two kept a close watch on her. Ningguang conveniently pushed them into another realm in her head, for the sake of her own sanity. There was a lot for her to answer for, but this would not be one of those things. The schools of fish, churning bubbles and isolated location made for a decent arena, but…it wasn’t private.

“Anything more than the way you’re holding me would be grounds for a citation, Bei..” The idea that Beidou dripped down her leg implied breaking a rule, and Ningguang always followed the rules. Sex in public? Ningguang challenged Beidou with one of her insolent expressions, but the heavy drum of her heart said otherwise. Her bustier must have been laced too tight, as her exhalations picked up in pace and her shy kitten throbbed. The Liyue code of conduct forbade Ningguang from partaking in any sort of panty shifting or risque unveiling, even if the incomparable heat between her pelvis asked to be quenched. The kiss was innocent enough, but as a public figure, Ningguang preferred to be careful. Showing up in coordinating outfits, arms linked like those cute paper cut-outs decorating the trees? Acceptably appropriate for any new couple. The sleazy silk number she planned to slink around in her bedroom would come soon enough, but not in the sea wheel, and not in Osial’s bed. That Ningguang was a chipper minx in the bedroom was no secret, but did anyone need to see how much of an equestrian she was? Judging solely based on the rigidity embedded on her booty, her gentle teasing earned a juicy reward. Ningguang wanted it now, but who did the pirate captain take her for? One of those wide-eyed and clueless bunnies that she frolicked in the taverns with? Not to be misunderstood, but an outlaw the Tianquan was not. Cool and collected, even with that hard-on rearing up to say hello to her waxy peach. When she made the front page of the papers, she didn’t want it to be trashy. She wanted to put those other hares into their place, not make the first page and headlines due to PDA.

“I do not usually fall in love with pirates.” Ningguang hopelessly clinged to Beidou’s torso, sliding in a quarter circle and pressing her palms to Beidou’s chest. She molested the lapels of the cream colored suit, admiring how perfectly it contoured to Beidou’s solid form. “In fact, all your fines totaled up would be enough to buy me a whole new jade palace, but when you talk like that - I cease to remember how lawless you are.” Composing herself, Ningguang crossed her slender legs and allowed them to hang over Beidou’s thighs; back reclining to lean onto the glass frame. Contrary to her earlier sentiments, Ningguang’s delicate hand counseled the bunched up heat restricted in Beidou’s pants. The pants were tailored in a way that didn’t accommodate for much space, and Ningguang wondered if it was painful at all. An amalgamation of arousal and curiosity confused the Tianquan. Like her favorite herbal blend and pipe, Ningguang craved to see her dainty hand on Beidou’s crotch. Oh, but the damage to her reputation would be irreparable if the sea wheel operator brought them to the surface. Knowing that, Ningguang deliberately caressed the subtle curve and tented fabric. As much as she enjoyed playing coy, she wrapped her fingers over the captivating shape and strummed up and down. Touching it with her digits as if to worship it, like the warmth was too hot on her palm. She maintained a level of caution, in that she had no plans to unzip Beidou and unleash the unruly serpent.

Snow white hair, twin ruby eyes, and slender but toned legs well-suited for bouncing? Definitely not a bunny, right? But Beidou supposed that bunnies didn’t have claws, and more importantly, weren’t in the business of threatening her with citations. “Oh?” A sword-arced brow lifted, and an appreciative noise rumbled in the back of her throat. On that fateful fireworks-lit night, Beidou learned that strength went a long way with Ningguang. But it seemed that compliments went just as far. As practical as she was, that absolutely meant she had to test that theory first-hand. Her arm behind Ningguang’s back snaked lower, down to grope a handful of that provocative rear. “My pretty girl,” she squeezed her fingers for emphasis, equal part appreciative and equal part possessive. “So if I keep talking like this, laws are optional, is that it?” The lilt suggested a question, but her cocky grin made it obvious that she was just playing up that swashbuckling charm.

Speaking of laws, didn’t Ningguang say something about how anything further than their amorous cuddling merited citations? And yet, said lawmaker was getting awfully cozy with Beidou’s cooped up trouser serpent. Which, despite its cramped quarters, attempted its utmost to rise and greet the affectionate petting. Beidou shifted, spreading her thighs in a gambit for comfort. It helped, but only so much, the drawback of pants that were practically sprayed on she supposed. Her arousal thumped against the seam, flexing beneath the adoring touch, and she groaned throatily.

“Aren’t I the lucky pirate then,” She craned the beautiful distraction backwards, her nose nudging along Ningguang’s jaw to expose that shapely column to her rapacious whims. “Everyone’s dressed to the nines for this special occasion,” her tongue flicked out for a taste, lips not far behind. “But all of them pale in comparison to you.” The incessant way Ningguang attempted to earn a citation or three caused Beidou to pant against every inch of throat she could reach. Her cock’s single-minded attempts to expand fully didn’t quite hurt, but given her size, it was also far from comfortable. The constant pressure split her focus, and she seriously considered throwing caution to the wind and carrying out her earlier threat.

“Ning,” her gruffer tone warned, teeth worrying at skin in between ravenous kisses all along Ningguang’s throat. “You know, I originally had something in mind for after this.” She had recruited the secretaries with some shiny baubles to fetch her a peach sapling and a shovel, and scouted a prime location atop the Jade Chamber where she had intended to plant the sapling. “Did you know that peach trees symbolize longevity? I’ve heard that planting a peach tree brings new couples good luck, and I figured that it would be a nice addition to your garden.” Not to mention that it was romantic, and a perfect clincher for this particular holiday. And besides, Beidou was absolutely confident that Ningguang would rather enjoy watching her beau labor to plant a tree for her, for them, rather. Had planned to flex entirely unnecessarily and all that.

But those plans were now very much waylaid by her impatience, by her imprisoned desire protesting its too tight cell. “Maybe tomorrow,” plans could always be rearranged, flexibility was an important trait for a sailor. She sucked hard enough to leave a mark, one hand continuing to fondle her favorite peach, and the other rising to boldly squeeze a breast. While clothing remained intact, their present activities could not possibly be legal. Which suited Beidou just fine, and her language grew coarser in between her avidity in decorating Ningguang’s throat. “Right now you are the only thing I want to plow.”

The romantic atmosphere and haze of new-lover’s lust cast a dizzying spell over Ningguang, but she knew how to handle herself in the presence of lawlessness. She grinned sheepishly over the gentle way that Beidou acknowledged her prettiness - validation and compliments the key to her heart. Even pretty girls liked to be told so, and Ningguang ornamented her hourglass figure in a skin-tight qipao and regal jewels all for Beidou’s undivided attention. Her girlfriend’s strong hands on her perfectly graspable derriere was reason for pause; a whisper of a gasp as storm-wine kisses glided over her slim neck, stirring up sensitive nerves and butterflies. She gazed up at the azure sea and inexpensive fluorescent bulbs - unaware that her chest puffed up and down as she panted her excitement in a request for more. More kisses on her neck, more caresses on her peach. Rising temperatures warned that physically, their bodies should part before their activities escalated too far. The husky rumbles from Beidou’s vocal cords resonated with a desire to please the Captain; an invitation to pounce on and take her for a whirl against her better judgment. Ningguang squeezed and hoped to galvanize Beidou’s naughty side into unruliness, a smile etched onto her parted lips and her tongue playing along her top lip as Beidou’s cock jumped against the seam. Ningguang welcomed the action, brows lifting a smidgeon as Beidou explained her plans for a peach tree, a traditional venture that caught the Tianquan off guard. Who ever said that Beidou thought with only her dick? That the captain was capable of straying from their flirtatious dance to talk about planting a tree was a pleasant surprise - more than a one trick pony, like some of the locals had referred to the often drunk or horny pirate-sailor.

“Impressive, my love.” Ningguang’s self-discipline waned as her soft skin surrendered to the suction on her throat, and her voice cracked as she sucked in quietly. “That you can think clearly enough in a time like this is a wonder in itself.” Not that Ningguang considered her beau to be simple minded, but it was the random moments of brilliance and warmth that intrigued Ningguang. Too many variables existed to explain how and why Ningguang loved Beidou, but The Captain of the Crux had to be her’s, and for the moment Beidou was on the same page. Ningguang’s inner thighs tensed and her thighs fluttered; in a risky bid she considered the consequences of a quickie, because Beidou deserved it. Right?

As if Rex Lapis himself frowned down on the Tianquan and her provocative display - the seawheel gears churned and squealed uncharacteristically. A firm jolt rocked the carriage and Ningguang used Beidou’s forearm to assist with sitting up. Where Ningguang should have worn shame, her relief couldn’t be more clear by the sigh she let out when the pod broke the surface and the decompression of the pressurized doors swishing to open. Fresh air flooded in and the sea wheel operator kindly extended his hand - helping them off the contraption one by one.

“Thank you for stopping by to experience the wonders of the sea! Catch the sea wheel at our next scheduled event.”

Ningguang strategically blocked Beidou’s lower half from view by standing in front of her. Level-headed as always, she plucked mora from a pocket in her qipao and handed it to the sea wheel operator, whose name she learned after squinting her ruby gaze at the name tag on his left breast pocket. “That was excellent service - We will definitely come back, Heng.” A small tip for his discretion, and because she was in a giving mood. Ningguang joined Beidou at her side; hands scooping up the length of her pale tresses as the night air assuaged the heat taking over her body. She batted her long lashes, hoping to convey her foxiness like an entertainer from Inazuma, but dropping her arms back to her sides second later. She crossed one foot in front of the other - pivoting to face the moonlit path that led to her castle in the sky.

The Jade Chamber appeared even more beautiful when she walked the corridors with Beidou at her side. Their confident strides nearly in sync, and the echo of their heels harmonizing in a way that elated her, like hearing her favorite song for the first time in a long time. Ningguang’s palms connected with the double doors and pushed - doors swinging inward to arrive in her dimly lit bedroom. She glanced curiously at the end table - a pink and red table cloth just as she asked it be and a rectangle box adorned in sparkly, white wrapping paper. A loud bow in Beidou’s signature red sat on top of the table, addressed to Beidou and ‘Happy Birthday, Beidou’ written in Ningguang’s calligraphy. “I know you are secretly dying to know what’s inside it. Will you open it?” Ningguang sashayed elegantly to the bedside where the present awaited Beidou. She sat her caboose on the mattress, sitting between the gift and her beau. Her gaze lingered on Beidou's expression, her cheeks continuously rosy from their earlier endeavors. "But, sit down beside me first."

Ningguang lit up when Beidou sat down with her present, and leaned into her side; slender arms slinking around Beidou's shoulders and her petite chin resting on deltoid muscle. Like an affectionate, spritely feline only recently rescued, Ningguang nuzzled up to her favorite source of heat. As the lid was lifted off the box, Ningguang clapped her fingertips together and the moonlight illuminated her face with the reveal of a black and red captain's hat - matched perfectly with Beidou's adventuring qipao. "Created right here in our beloved Liyue. I assumed it would be a perfect addition on your sea faring journeys." Ningguang relinquished her hold on Beidou, and delicately took the cap, planting it on Beidou's head. She eyed the captain, somehow even more attractive with a hat on."I don't think you should ever take this hat off."

Oh come on, she knew at least three tricks - conquering the waves, hunting sea monsters, and slaying pretty girls. Or was it hunting the waves, slaying sea monsters, and conquering pretty girls? Unfortunately, any permutation thereupon of those line items had to wait when the seawheel creaked, before resuming its steady churn. Beidou huffed an annoyed sigh, leaning back and relaxing her hold to allow Ningguang to re-adjust her outfit. Much as it pained her - quite literally, with the way the very much awake leviathan tested the durability of the alabastrine fabric - to relinquish her quarry, she was not without good sense beneath her often fast and loose demeanor. When the seawheel docked itself once more above the waves, Beidou rose after Ningguang, slipping the red-trimmed jacket off in favor of tying it around her waist. The weather was warm despite the onset of the night, and she did just emerge from a relatively cramped cabin. So, it made perfect sense that she might have just been overheating, as opposed to things getting too heated.

“Thanks, Heng,” a warm smile and friendly tone served as a companion piece to Ningguang’s politeness, the well-regarded Captain ever courteous to the Liyuan folks. Adjusting the jacket until she was satisfied with her appearance, Beidou lengthened her stride and caught up to Ningguang in short order. “That was certainly something,” she offered with an amused tone, in too good of a mood to truly begrudge the untimely interruption. Bereft of the jacket, the pristine white vest and vivid red tank beneath both cut off at the shoulder, leaving her toned and scarred arms on full display beneath the moon’s serene light. Her right found its natural resting place at the dip of Ningguang’s back, courteous and possessive in equal measures. “Where next, my love?”

As it turned out, the next stop happened to be the Jade Chamber, and more specifically, Ningguang’s - no, their - bedroom. That had her subtly wetting her lips, not unlike how famished animals might lick at their chops at the first whiff of their approaching meal. Bestial inclinations aside, Beidou had a little more tact than that. “A present?” Her gaze followed Ningguang’s, landing on the neatly wrapped box. She redirected her attention back to Ningguang at the beckon, never one to pass up an opportunity to ogle her girl, before picking up the box and pacing over to the bed.

“What did you get me?” The unnecessary question exposed her burning curiosity, and she undid the bow rapidly. Sliding the lid off, one brow shot up toward her hairline, and she paused to admire the excellent stitching. A hat, but not just any hat, a pirate captain’s hat, in her signature colors no less. “That’s…incredibly thoughtful of you, Ning,” it was clear that Beidou was not used to receiving such considerate gifts on her birthday, as her crew usually celebrated such events with drinking and festivities. That Ningguang went through the trouble caused Beidou's voice to thicken and she beamed with genuine appreciation. “I love it.”

She dipped her chin, and the tricorn hat slid a smidgeon lower, resting just above her brows. Flashing that familiar rakish grin, she stood, and towered over her seated girlfriend, newly acquired hat casting a meaningful shadow over the both of them. “A wonderful present, and one that will surely remind me of you on my next voyage.” Both of her hands hit the bedspread, bracketing Ningguang in between her flexed arms, as she leaned in close. “But pirates are known to be greedy, and,” she stole a kiss then, a short, fleeting peck, before continuing. “As their Captain, I am even more so.” The singular jasper burned with affectionate warmth and predatory intent alike, and her voice roughened, the surest indicator of her rousing appetite. “I’m ready for the rest of my birthday celebrations.” She sought another liplock - deeper this time, before pulling back a fraction to growl down at Ningguang. “Strip for me, gorgeous.”

Ningguang tilted her chin upward to assess her love’s new look, her garnet peepers panned over Beidou’s package, and up to the hat. Her smile beamed, radiant as a rose and all too pleased with Beidou’s smooches; gravitating into them with a concealed excitement, but dripping like a faucet unattended overnight. Beidou’s pay off for making the evening special for Ningguang would arrive in endless hugs and kisses - something Ningguang was often stingy with as she learned how to play the captain’s game. The stuffed plushies, the fishing, and the muscle-man competitions weren’t Ningguang’s usual form of entertainment, but it was breaking the barrier in a way that she hadn’t tried with any one in Liyue or Mondstadt. Beidou’s birthday was a success, a fact that made way for Ningguang to relax on the mattress - supporting her weight as it dipped from the added pressure of the woman towering over her vulnerable position. In the confines of their bedroom, Ningguang was reasonably comfortable and patted Beidou on the thigh, beckoning her wild side to come out for a dance or two. The rough and airy texture to Beidou’s voice tickled her spine, but perhaps that was their lips meeting passionately for an uninterrupted seven minutes in heaven. It wasn’t that long, and Ningguang observed Beidou as if in a daze, unflinching as her lover ordered for the removal of her clothes. Damnit! Ningguang had gone through the trouble of dressing up cute and dolly, but Beidou liked her better as close to naked as possible.

“I promised you - didn’t I?” Ningguang scooted backwards, holding her love’s predatory gaze with a kittenish wink as she fondled the mixed feather and fur collar adorning her qipao. Glittery nails fluffed the luxurious fur and trimmed plumes, a low lashed glance Beidou’s only acknowledgement of her command as she turned to lay on her side, the silhouette of venus in hiding. The heel of her silk slippers embedded on the curve of Beidou’s quad as she gradually peeled the collar off, and dangled it in front of Beidou’s visage - the remnants of her perfume lingering in the air with each wave. “You have gotten off easy in the past, haven’t you?” Another question, meant to taunt her lover who drank in the sight of her body, more than likely wondering how long Ningguang meant to keep up the charade. The red gemstones for eyes sparkled with impish curiosity ; twinkled like a villainess making off with her spoils. “How long will the dragon starve before its mighty appetite for treasure consumes him?” Did she expect an answer? The Tianquan set her other heel on Beidou’s collarbone, angling her backwards as a mellifluous hum sounded in her throat. She tucked her index finger under her glove - careful that the sharpness of her nail guards did not puncture the satin as they slid down her glowing complexion. Meanwhile, Ningguang witnessed the hearty growth, a tightness in Beidou’s pants that the size alone once intimidated Ningguang into feigning a headache. And though she only had to fabricate a story after a vigorous marathon with Beidou, she was so understanding about it.

Beidou’s loyalty and compassion hidden beneath the rowdy and rough exterior of a pirate was all too sweet. The length and girth mere inches from her digits could fill and feel her up. Beidou was a well-informed lover, just the sort of lady that Ningguang wanted to be tangled up with again and again. Undressing could expedite that process, but most extraordinary things took extra care. Ningguang sat up with her back to the fortress of pillows, a lascivious princess rather than a stern law-maker and businesswoman, though it was possible for Ningguang to be all three at once. Keen on the new positions she could potentially find herself in, Ningguang stood on her knees when she had ample space to do so. She offered a purposeful and calm grin, inspired to remove her qipao as it became apparent that Beidou was also preparing for her celebration. The attention of her love’s eye encouraged Ningguang to model; undoing clasps with an elegant adroitness and repositioning the bulk of her shimmering sandy-white tresses over her shoulder. Red lace wrapped around the hips, a miniature mini skirt meant as a lingerie cover-up for the g-string panty. A bra in heartbreak red, Ningguang's pinkness reacting to the exposure to chilled air and pebbling up against the lace. The grooves in the fabric gripped onto the wetness permeating her panties, because she was truly shameless when it came to Beidou.

Now. Aren't you happy I didn't show you this earlier?

To be fair, goldfish scooping & highstriker ringing also weren’t Beidou’s usual form of entertainment. Festivities usually found her sampling various food stalls and drinks, an octopus skewer in one hand and a flagon of booze in the other. This was decidedly new territory for the both of them, and Beidou, the consummate adventurer, couldn’t imagine anything more well-suited. Well, she could, but as luck would have it, she didn’t have to merely imagine for long. In her not so humble opinion, where Ningguang was concerned, “well-suited” meant as close to naked as possible while leaving just a smidgeon for the imagination. “You did promise, and I’m here to collect.” Her teeth weren’t quite as sharp as the sharks such sentiments might have evoked, but the way she rocked that bespoke suit would certainly put any loan sharks to shame. And, judging from the intensity with which she was fixated upon Ningguang’s every move, it was obvious that Beidou expected to be repaid with interest.

As the first piece fanned the air, she licked at her lips, positively salivating. Beidou did not consider herself lacking in patience, but to say that Ningguang was testing her capacity for the same would be the understatement of the century. “Even a dragon struggles to control a snake in its native haunt.” That was certainly not the proper usage of this particular idiom, and the amused twinkle in that roguish jasper said as much. But the implication was hard to miss, particularly when the snake in question looked as though on the verge of attempting jailbreak.

“Have I told you how absolutely divine you look today yet?” Ningguang imbibed compliments with the same insatiability as Beidou devoured stormwine, a fact that the pirate captain has long discovered and never tired in paying homage to. Besides, Ningguang made it easy; every inch of newly exposed skin inflamed Beidou’s appetite, until she had half a mind to just tackle Ningguang into the bed. Fortunately, the other half remembered that Ningguang preferred to sip at her drinks, to pace herself, and so Beidou reigned herself in enough to convey the savoir-faire suggested by that adroitly stitched tricorn hat. She straightened until she was standing beside the bed, taking a few seconds to simply admire, before huffing her most sincere admiration. “Ravishing. You are the reason sailors disembark after long voyages, the reason for which they - I - must always return home.” And, with a smirk, she added, “I see that you opted for matching colors after all.”

There were a great number of things she wanted to do to her beloved, though the chief amongst which was best saved for last. And besides, after their interrupted seawheel escapades earlier, even Beidou needed something to tide her over. “Come closer, my star,” she rasped with that familiar lust-roughened tenor, bidding Ningguang to the bedding before herself. Beyond undoing the clasp of her belt, she disrobed no further, the stark contrast between their respective state of dress adding to the lurid atmosphere. “After all that teasing earlier...” Calloused fingers flirted with a strand of frosted hair, before she gently thumbed at a heart-shaped chin, directing attention towards her conspicuous impatience. “I think you ought to kiss it all better, hm?”

Ningguang fluidly and melodiously shifted on the mattress, her mermaid movements quite similar to the waves of an ocean. That explained why Beidou hadn’t been able to leave her alone, if not for her hypnotizing hips that swayed like a river’s current. Though at first she was stony, she had genuinely warmed up; melted like honey in Beidou’s hands and attempted the difficult task of not swooning as her love flirted with her hair. She maintained that quick-witted decision making, holding a clear head and rising to the occasion when necessary, but was a simpering woman the same. Through the compliments, which Ningguang considered herself once immune, found herself being swept off her feet by Beidou’s admiring jasper and the husky tenor of her bedroom voice. She couldn’t help but to come closer, as her love guided her by the chin with her roughened finger tips. A blind woman could see what Beidou was pointing out, what specifically needed tending to. Ningguang directed her attention to Beidou, to her salivating mouth and the hunger in her eye - as if she was starved for nourishment. The clinking that ensued when Beidou undid her slacks induced an aural bliss, and Ningguang shivered with excitement.

“I admit your cock is in dire need of attention…” Observant to the plight of her lover’s situation, and enthusiastic to oblige her desires, Ningguang grinned like she was storing a secret behind her lips. The appearance of the demi erection was apparently her doing, and she eventually would pacify her captain’s appetite. She remained at eye-level with Beidou, despite the telepathic wishes from her love to wander into limbo and soothe her aches now. In due time, Beidou would receive her birthday wish, but there were lips that she lusted to kiss and a physique worthy of applause. She desperately fell into Beidou and her mouth met with a heated pulse over an elevated jugular vein. The balance of their scents melding together stirred a fluttering deep in her abdomen, and she exhaled passionately. Touching beneath the layers of jacket, vest, and shirt to feel the skin on skin. “Though you are perfect when naked, I want to enjoy the sight of you all dressed up a bit longer.” She sighed with sweet, summery breaths onto Beidou’s neck and retracted only enough to kiss her on the lips. Palms skating along impeccable abdominal muscles, Ningguang sank her nails in and diligently pushed Beidou to lay on top of the mattress. She followed suit in a flurry of white hair everywhere, linking them together and cloaking their forms like webs. She floated over Beidou’s front side in the dark, her heated bosom gently colliding with firmness. A dull stab separated their bodies at the base, and Ningguang peered down between them as she lifted a smidgeon to fully admire her girlfriend’s hard-on.

Clenching her thighs around Beidou’s waist for good measure, Ningguang sank her teeth into Beidou’s soft collar and indulged in how velvety smooth her skin felt rolled between her teeth. Her tongue rested in the hotbed of the roof of her mouth, and felt cool to the touch when it swirled onto the angry heat emanating off the lightly bruised skin. “You taste delicious, captain.” Ningguang breathed in shallowly, her spine tickled by the long strands of her own hair dancing along her skin as she maneuvered elegantly to the mountainous structure tented with silk staring up at her from its entrapment. Having a fair bit of knowledge about steering and riding, Ningguang would have put that to use, if her babe were in the mood. She barely fidgeted with Beidou’s undergarments, before her dick all but grew legs and flicked up from containment. Beidou was hot and ready, evidenced by the mounting heat and grips at her body. Ningguang engaged with the leviathan face first, perking up as it nudged at her cupid's bow. She nuzzled her cheek against the big headed thing, and turned to look at it; gusting it with her balmy breath before kissing it on its eye. The hot flesh blessed her tongue, and Ningguang patiently lapped at the slinky skin; pinching it between her lips, purring her affection. There was an unbridled passion boiling beneath the surface, but Ningguang continued with patient kisses and tender licks up and down the shaft with a heavenly smile and all the devotion of a Tianquan tending to her one and only.

Being maneuvered onto the bedspread deprived Beidou of a top-down view of her promised reward, and she momentarily mourned the loss of that most titillating vision - snowy bluffs framed in brazen red, accompanied by lips one shade pinker and eyes several degrees more mischievous. But whilst she would be loath to admit it outloud, nowadays, she was truly terrible at denying Ningguang much of anything. Besides, it was a small sacrifice, a blip of a thought at most as her lover successfully distracted her almost immediately with adoring kisses and kittenish caresses.

“You say you prefer me clothed, but your hands appear to disagree?” She chuckled with warm amusement, one brow raised as Ningguang contradicted her own declaration of keeping Beidou’s outfit intact with unsubtle gropes around her waist, snaking up to run along the furrowed plain of her stomach. She flexed her abs with an equal lack of subtlety. Because of course she did. It should be said that In the usual course of bedroom activities, Beidou, surely to the surprise of nobody, tended to take the lead. However, much as an experienced sailor could read the ebb and flow of mercurial waves, the consummate pirate captain was capable of going with the flow of things. For a time, anyway.

Scooting back a smidgen, she leaned against Ningguang’s many plushy pillows and curled an arm behind her own neck for support. And if that tended to emphasize the pleasing curve of her tricep honed from the evisceration of hundreds of sea monsters, well, who would blame her for playing up to her girlfriend’s proclivities? Her free hand ghosted down the contour of Ningguang’s back, tracing admiring lines down the dip of spine and across every inch of skin she could reach. The night was warm, all things considered, but the heat of her touch dispelled whatever coolness that might have remained. She toyed with the straps of that flimsy bra - so, so easy to snap - but decided to reserve that particular brand of misbehavior for another time. Her fingers lingered at Ningguang’s nape, petting the fine hairs there and gripping down in tandem with the possessive bite upon her collar. A hitch of her breath served as her response, and she loosened her hold to tangle gently into her beloved’s hair.

Lack of verbosity notwithstanding, the stare Beidou fixated on Ningguang spoke volumes. She huffed a quiet breath, breathing shallowly and with anticipation. No matter how many times she might be treated to the sight of Ningguang between her thighs (or anywhere, really), it would always be a view she relished. Especially when said woman deftly removed the obstructing layer of silk then practically posed next to her cock. That her weapon of choice was an accurate foreshadowing to her endowment was no great secret, but that fact was made that much more obvious in moments like this. Standing unbowed despite its hefty weight, her greatsword reached easily from chin to forehead. Even the most ribald sea shanty would fail to capture just how lurid this particular sight was, with the way her erection menaced Ningguang’s soft features.

However, her lover appeared unfazed with her monumental undertaking, readily greeting the cyclops with a laudatory kiss. Beidou groaned in response, glutes contracting with obvious impatience, but to her credit, despite the way her fingers flexed against Ningguang’s scalp, the cadence with which she carded through those well-cared for locks remained ever temperate. “Ning, you look so sexy right now,” and that was doubly more true with the way plush lips glistened with the results of Ningguang’s diligence, the lascivious sight compounding with the sensations to elicit a steady stream. The heated pillar throbbed against Ningguang’s tongue, and Beidou moaned approvingly. However, while this was indubiously pleasurable, she could not help but buck everytime Ningguang neared the head, the heave of her chest evidencing her desire for more. “Love,” her blunt nails raked gentle lines against Ningguang’s scalp, equal parts praising and beseeching, “I want your mouth around me. It drives me wild when you look up at me like that.”

It was Beidou’s posture while laying on her bed; looking all ‘lax while concealing the thrill that having Ningguang nuzzling between her thighs might cause anyone else. She behaved so well, too, which is the type of demeanor capable of exciting Ningguang. She was always hanging around like she was too cool, that was certainly Beidou’s way. Drinking too much, indulging in her vices often. Though, Beidou never forgot to impress Ningguang with how tender she could be in her greatest moments of impatience. How well-spoken she stayed when in the presence of Ningguang, even when her lips were just seconds from conquering one sea-dwelling cockserpent. She overwhelmed the throbbing shaft with a tongue that was just wet enough, tidying it up while leaving glossy evidence behind and her sparkling lips smooching all over the base. Her mouth sent Beidou bucking, and she was ready for take off. Allegedly.

Ningguang stabilized herself by gripping onto, and sinking her nails into warm skin and toned hamstrings. The approving moans sent her heart racing, and the butterflies in her stomach metamorphosed into much more than elation. An alluring bat of frosty lashes was acknowledgment that she heard Beidou's wishes, but sailed at her own pace, or whatever. It was her sweetheart’s birthday, after all, and this was only a preliminary celebration. Ningguang went against the grain and traced circles and symbols with her tongue, before she rose up and dawned on Beidou’s cock. Like a tall ladder, it required some considerable climbing, but she had conquered the beast before. Bowing over Beidou’s lap, it was like she was giving thanks before silently slurping up the apex of the pillar between her balmy lips. Her mouth was not made of elastic, but it took a teeny bit of stretching to take it beyond the front of her teeth. The fleshly column bloomed and throbbed on the curvature of her tongue, and Ningguang settled into a calm rhythm; audible, soft exhalations through nostrils. Still, more than half of Beidou’s lady-dick remained out to dry and Ningguang sympathized with it. Angling her head to the side, it was easy for Ningguang to spread a little love gravy all over the neglected parts of her main-squeeze.

She knew how much her love hated delayed gratification, and minded that when she returned to sucking with undisguised zeal. The way her limbs glided over satin, it felt like she was swimming in the ocean. The flooding in her mouth caused a well-timed gulp, and another, lest she wanted to drown before they even started. A runny sniffle in between, and Ningguang dove down with the newfound slick and accommodated all of the space that Beidou needed in her mouth for the fully immersive experience.
