Standing in the middle of the training field was a male of only the age around 19 now. He had been here for nine dreadful years. He looked around, seeing some of the other 'experiments' training on their abilities. Few of these experiments had normal human thought, meaning have not gone insane yet from the torment of their scientist captors. The year is 4026, and one of the pharmaceutical companies has twisted their ideals and went to testing for enhanced human weapons. They take street urchins and orphans, people who have no one to care for them or miss them if they disappear.

Selo Golna is one of those orphans, picked up at the age of ten after running away from his parent's death with fear. Selo was already an extraordinary human, not greatly but enough to tweak the interest of these mad scientists. He was able to with stand more torment to his body than most humans could, and healed just slightly faster. This helped him only barely, having animal DNA planted in to him, and other things to increase his human abilities, while hindering him at the same time.

He stood, his long, silky white hair flowing behind him, two fox ears protruding on the top of his head rather then the side, his eyes partially slits to adjust to the lighting. He had on a white shirt, a pair of gloves, his boots and his pants. It was amazing they actually dressed them in partially decent clothing. He clenched his fist, wishing to leave this place once and for all.

He made a dash at the wooden dummy and leaped forward, spinning in the air, curling into a ball and thorns spreading out of his body, the porcupine DNA in him. As he shredded through the dummy, he kicked off the wall behind it and the thorns came back into his body as a blade protruded out of his wrists, his fist still clenched, and stabbed them into the dummy, one where a heart could have been, the other through the head that was already in the air. He spun around and pulled out of the body, landing on his feet and kicking the head off, it flying and shattering against a wall.

The blades returned back into his body, his muscles tensing up in pain. He let out a soft sigh, steadying him self. He took a look around once more, the people who had been staring now looking away. He was one of the fastest people in the 'Freak's Academy', having his speed enhanced and the fox DNA boosting it more. He twitched his ears, listening in on all the other teens or adults with in the area, seeing what they were saying.

Naturally there were murmurs coming from all sides of the large training area. Most from the newer recruits. Males and females in their early teens those just adjusting to their new life at Solaris Laboratories. Everyone knew of Selo, just as they knew of Kaleb. Both individuals of the highest caliber and trophies among those that created them.

"God did you see how fast he moves, I couldn't even follow him until the dummy went flying." the statement came from a sandy haired teen with large cat ears on his head. He was talking to an older male with black hair and an out of place white streak. His eyes were covered by a dark pair of sunglasses and his shirt hung open partial giving glimpses of his tone chest. "Amateur." was all that he said before walking out onto the field.

Kaleb had been in this hell hole for nine years as well, pulled of the dark streets of what was once Chicago. Even then he hadn't spoken much and as the years went by he spoke even less. The friend's he lost to insanity, the people that died by the hands of the men who claimed to 'help' humanity he mourned them all by taking his own personal vow of silence.

While the older male had no outward signs of DNA tampering, he'd been given a set of skills all his own. The code name they gave him was 'tracker' due to enhanced senses he could actually follow most anything that moved by sound alone. The rumor was he had bat DNA coded somewhere in his body. "Everyone clear the field." came a call over the intercom. It seemed like today the 22 year old wouldn't get to show off. Training was over and lunch was next on the schedule.

Lunch like most other time frames was followed by testing and then they'd be returned to their cells. He seemed to study the fox eared teen for the remainder of the day his eyes deep in thought. Despite his opinion on the other, he had promise, promise that would be wasted here once they drove him insane. Kaleb had been planning and escape for over a year, all he need was the card key to his cell and his plan would be set into motion. He was considering letting the other out as well. See how the labs survived when their prize toys were gone.

The day went on normally, Selo being sent to lunch, eating with a crowd of the younger kids, trying to make their time in the place more enjoyable as much as he could with his jokes and wit. After lunch he was sent to his cell, arms bound and most of his body covered over as to not let him cut anyone up with his nice sharp and pointed objects in his body. When he got into his cell he was freed, aloud to move about the small room as he wished now.

Soon after that he was sent to the experimenting room, test, tormented, once more. Screams were only silenced by the sheer thickness of the walls, if not for them everyone's bones would be shaken to their cores. Selo was then tossed into his cell, worn out more than any labor worker could ever imagine. This place was completely against any form of humane doctrines.

The next morning Selo woke up just a few minutes before the guard got to his cell. He sighed and was finally fed up with all this. He looked at the walls and then to his wrists and clenched his eyes tightly shut. The blades came out with a gasp of air after them. He then ran to the wall and stabbed his blades in, then the next a bit above it.

When the guard came he knocked on the door. "Aye! Stitch, time to head out to lunch kid!" The Guard called in and then hit a button to view the camera. Static came up, "What the?" He questioned, his voice trailing. He pushed another button to open the door, pulling out his tranqer. He held it ready, looking around the room. "Stitch?" Questioned the guard just as a scream let loose, his hands and the gun falling to the ground.

Selo stood there, his blade bloody as he had just swiped an arch through the male's wrists, making the cleanest of cuts done to a human. Selo looked at the male, a killer's instinct in his eyes. He then shook his head, ripping off his own shirt. He then bound the nearly unconscious guards wrists, the blood soaking instantly almost. "Keep your head up, I'll send the medics." He informed the guard and grabbed his pass card, running out the door, one blade out the entire time.

He charged down the hall, passing come cells and looking in at the people. He then swiped the card on many of them telling them to make a break for it, to not stop unless pinned or confronted with a fight. Selo then turned a corner to a barricade, having given one of the neko boys the pass card he grabbed. He stood looking at a line of soldiers, not guards, holding rifles aimed at him.

"Ready! Aim!" The orders came out from behind the line. Then Selo's heart started to pound faster and faster as he started to hear the final word. "F.....i...." The word was becoming dragged out forever until Selo burst forward, thorns extended, blades out. When he stopped he was standing in front of the commander, blood all across the hall and over the young adult's body. "Leave." Selo said, his tone sounding near demonic. He then walked past the commander, a thud coming from the fainted male. Selo, was out, but not free.

Kaleb sensed what was going on before he actually saw the teens running down the cell hall. He knew blood had been spilt and that it was because of Selo. "Stupid Kid." he said pulling out the keycard he'd stolen and letting himself out of the cell. He'd had everything planned out as quiet as a mouse, no one died and no one found out until the following day. Now that'd been blown to hell. All because they'd given the teen a killer's instinct to go with those spines.

Stepping out he allowed the herd of people to carry him along the halls, scientists where running everywhere tranquilizer guns in hand. They'd never kill there precious experiments, they were worth far too much. Oddly enough for him to be as tall as he was, he was overlooked in favor for the new faces. The ones unsure of how to use their power, perhaps it was because they'd yet to find out he'd been freed as well?

"Tracker project is reported as breaking out." came a male voice over an intercom. "Be on the look out for a male age 22 6'0'' black hair with a white streak. Do not shoot to kill I repeat do not shoot to kill. Hunter project has also been reported out, shoot to...." the line went dead the man speaking slumping lifelessly in his chair. It hadn't been too hard to find him, thought Kaleb as he wiped blood of his hands. Intercoms were easy to locate, the single got stronger as you go closer. It worked that way for short wave radios as well. Grabbing the gun from the man's holster he slipped it into the waist band of his jeans and returned to the quickly emptying halls.

Gun in hand the male turned his senses to track the 'Hunter' as he was called apparently. That was easier said then done, with all the frightened subject running around the noise was almost deafening. He turned a corner and spotted him ten feet away, of course he was on his way to the main entrance like the rest, which was just a mistake waiting to happen. Kaleb Dashed around and fell into step with him â??Shut up and follow." he muttered heading down a side passage.

Here there were less people, mostly those already knocked out by tranq guns. He moved silently pausing every once in awhile to listen for oncoming obstacles. Kaleb turned corner after corner working down the labyrinth of tunnels before arriving at what appeared to be an abandoned supply garage. It was oddly silent and even the black hair male was nervous, not that he could pick up on anyone coming towards them or at them for that matter. He took them to a door off to the side, the lock already broken by those who'd managed to find it. Smirking he started walking towards them almost lazily. They were both in the clean for now...

Selo walked into the fresh air, taking it in with his arms spread wide open. He had made his way out of a side passage, being the first out and then heard others behind him. He lowered his arms and his head, glancing his eyes over his shoulder at them, the killer instinct hitting in once more. His eyes pierced through each and every one of the kids that came out, sending chills down their spines as they looked at the once comedian gone killer now.

He closed his eyes and took in a long breath, then let it out and turned to them, all his blades pulling in as he winced at the last one going in. There was blood all over his body now, but not all of it his own. He still had no shirt on, his gloves only half there now being torn, along with his pants, but the pants in better condition. One of the neko girls walked up to Selo slowly. "M-mister? A-are you alright?" She asked. Selo glanced at her then smirked. "Peachy, doll." He said with his cheerful tone, the kids sighing in unison, as if staged.

Selo then looked behind them, seeing more of the adults making it out. Some he recognized, and then the one he knew the most of, Kaleb, or The Tracker. A lot of the more planed subjects had sensible battle names. Selo was an odd ball, built as a tester of certain powers mainly, having bits and pieces of many things. He smirked seeing that Kaleb hadn't noticed him yet, or so he thought, and to be a jack ass he took his hand and slammed them hard together, placing her ears against his own head to prevent most of the sound waves from hitting his own sensitive hearing.

"Aye chap! See you made it out well an' all!" He called out, making his way through the small crowd. "Tell me, how ye like me stage act back ther'?" He questioned, now standing in front of the older male. Selo was a good five six inches shorter then Kaleb, easy. Selo crossed his arms over his chest. "The names Selo, but most know me by Stitch." He introduced him self, not holding out his hand.

Kaleb's hand came up to cover his ears a split second after the other had gotten the bright idea to try and surprise him. His eyes narrowed almost angrily and if he'd been the vengeful type would've taken the chance to let out gesture of his own. Stupid, Stupid fox, he probably wasn't aware of the number of people he inadvertently had a hand in killing because he decided to escape like he did.

Several children huddled around him as well, most with outward mutations. One being the very sandy haired neko boy who'd spoken during training. Rolling his eyes he turned and looked down at Selo arms crossed behind his back. This was his equal, a loud obnoxious teen? Either the scientists had made a mistake or there was something more to him. "Kaleb." he commented before looking down at a small six year old who was clutching his hand like a lifeline. Gently he detangled himself and cocked his head to the side.

He heard something coming from the front of the building, it sounded like machine guns. Had they taken to gunning down any would be escapees? Looking around him he counted less then a forth of the subjects that had been held in the lab. "Soldiers, Guns." Travelling it a group like this was rather stupid, it screamed shoot me. And the soldiers were rounding the building as he spoke.

"Pair up and move out, we have no time." the order issued people were gathering groups the children paired off with the adults and they started moving into the forest. As far as he was concerned he'd done his part. Those who had managed to follow out were on their own, travelling in a group meant forming attachments and attachments were a death sentence. He two started into the woods not caring who followed.

Selo looked at Kaleb and listened to him and heard the gun fire clear as day almost. He knew Kaleb could even pin point the positions, but he only heard them at the front and saw some of the kids could hear it as well. He looked at each kid pair with an adult, and then saw one neko with the sandy brown hair. The Neko looked up at him now and Selo picked him up and started to run in to the forest, following behind Kaleb mainly.

He didn't know the reason for following him in particular but he felt they had a better chance staying with each other. He could hear foot steps behind them, not quite close to them and sounded to be moving fast. He glanced back and then forward just as a tree was coming up to him. With his sudden reflexes he did a spin around the tree, looking like a football player dodging a tackle and continued to run. He knew who was following them, which made him wonder if the mutated human was either hunting them or following them to escape.

"Kaleb! We got a tailer!" He called up ahead of them, knowing Kaleb would probably be able to hear the person as well and hear his words even if he spoke them normal. He glanced back once more to see the being. It was one of the insane ones, he knew this because of his clothing. The scientists didn't bother to give the insane experiments any good clothing due to they might be killed just by coming near them. They probalby didn't understand how to put on new clothes anyway.

Telling by the smell of the beast, he had the scent of a wolverine, a wolf, and a bear in him. "Beast..." Selo said in a whisper, the Neko looking at him with confusion. He knew this was bad, Beast was what his name portrayed, a beast. He didn't care for nothing but to destroy, and Selo only wondered what they would have to do to get him off their tail, and wondered what caused them to release such a creature, or if it was them even.

Kaleb did a sharp turn skidding in the soft undergrowth as he stood beside the two. Raising his head he looked to be in deep consideration. Beast the footsteps told him, one of the ones who had long sense lost their humanity. Once a quite intelligent man, but the animal DNA inside him was too much. It caused him to revert back to a very primal state of mind. "Cover your ears." he instructed.

The black haired male had intended to throw his voice toss the man off their tale, it was a risky move, but it was too late to cover their scent. "Tree, Kid." he said referring to the neko who nodded and climbed up as high as he could. "You over there." pointed to another tree he stood in the middle of the small path. He opened his mouth and at first nothing could be heard then a low high pitched shriek sounded coming from somewhere several miles to the left of them. The sound rebounded in the thick forest, hopefully confusing their pursuer.

Then he froze again, damn the footsteps were still coming towards them but slower as though he was confused, unsure of where exactly to go. They were downwind so scent didn't carry as easily. Then at once the wind shifted and once again quick footsteps were headed towards them. "Selo." he called in a tone that clearly meant get your ass down here and help me fight or else. "Two minutes until contact..."

This was not going to be fun, if beast slowed them down too much they'd be sitting ducks for the soldiers traversing through the woods. Most were far off following the more obvious paths; the sound of his call was too high for human ears to hear. "45 seconds. Jump!" he leapt into the air doing a graceful dancers turn as something exploded from the under brush and turned in a circle snarling at the three escapees.

Selo looked at the explosion and saw the familiar being known as Beast. Selo began to snarl at him, his fox DNA taking slight control before he shook his head. Selo looked around for Kaleb and felt his tree start to shake violently. He looked down and saw Beast ripping it from the ground. "Shit." Selo said and then crouched down and the next instant he was in the air aiming for another tree.

He made sure to keep away from the Neko but noticed the scent of fear now. "No!" He called out, noticing beast smelled it too. Neko was still a boy so his fear was obvious. Selo then bolted down to the ground, slamming with such an impact the earth shook under all of them smoke flying up. Selo was then behind Beast, his thorns protruded and his foot raised to kick the creature's head before he felt a palm to his chest.

Selo's chest nearly caved in and his air was thrown out of him as he went flying and hit a tree behind him and slide to the ground. Selo was in a slouched sit, looking to be unconscious as Beast started to walk up to him. Just as Beast grabbed his throat, Selo thrusted his palm into the beast's chest, blood trickling down from the thorns stabbing into the flesh, causing him to roar out in pain and throw Selo into a tree, cracking the trunk as he hit and fell to the ground on his side, trying to get air in his body once more.

Beast grabbed his side and started to run to the tree with the Neko in it now, wanting to kill something and the boy being the easiest thing to attack now.

Kaleb dashed foreword now slamming most of his slight body weight into the large man and tumbling to the ground. Eye narrowing a piercing whistle escaped his lips causing the beast to back up and cover his ears. The opening was so obvious and his hand dashed foreword digging into he wound made my Selo, making it deeper trying to rupture the nearest organ. However he was thrown away too quickly and went tumbling into the air smacking against a nearby boulder.

However with blood covering almost his entire forearm he had successfully distracted the large man from the frightened neko boy hiding in the tree. Jumping up he barely managed to dodge what would've been a lethal strike razor sharp claws catching him in the side shredding his shirt. Blood flowed from the seemingly deep wound. While it hadn't been a direct hit, it still hit him hard. The older male was tempted to use the gun he had holstered in his side, but that would attract the attention of nearby soldiers.

Standing he did a complicated back flip combination to put some space between them so he could better judge the movements of his opponent? The two circled one another waiting and then stopped so the beast's back was turned to the formally incapacitated fox. Clutching his side he dashed foreword aiming a kick low to the ground his rather sharp nails attempting to sink into the flesh just beneath his heart.

Once again he was thrown away landing hard on his wounded side; right so close range didn't work so well with this one. Kaleb wasn't built to fight hand to hand with someone the size of a small mountain. His body was more for speed and stealth. "Damnit." he muttered getting to his feet shakily. Anytime now would be wonderful his eyes said as he looked over to the teen.

Selo shook his head and then looked around. He looked up at Beast and Kaleb fighting and then saw Kaleb get knocked back. Selo found his opening. He extended his wrist blade and ran towards Beast's back, thrusting his blade down at him.

The next moment, Beast gagged out and then blood spat out of his mouth as the point of Selo's blade came out. Selo pulled his blade out and leaped off, breathing in heavily, lifting his hand up and looking at the blood. His eyes closed and slowly opened, something about them changing. It wasn't physically visible, but a person could tell they were different.

Selo slowly extended his tongue out, licking the blood off the blade and then swallowing it. He then licked his lips, looking up at Kaleb and then quickly turned to a fighting position. He then shook his head, acting as if trying to gain consciousness. He then dropped to his knees and his blade pulled into his arm once more, the blood of the wound dripping out.

He took in some air, slowly, taking steady breaths. He looked forward and saw Beast and the wound in his neck then up to Kaleb. "I killed him...didn't I?" Selo asked, sounding as if he didn't know what he did. It seemed weird, as if he had a second personality or something, or he just blacked out while fighting. Selo looked at his hand, seeing the wound healing over now. It wasn't so fast as to make him not worry about it, by all means he had to be careful with being wounded. "What am I?" He asked under his breath, as to not let most humans hear him.

"Heart beat stopped approximately 45 seconds ago." he responded a way of confirming that Beast was indeed dead and still bleeding freely. The small neko jumped down his ears flat back on his head in fright. Poor thing was as white as a sheet and shaking visibly, his heartbeat going far too fast. "He's having a panic attack." Kaleb said as stood walking with a slight limp towards the shocked neko.

Sighing he wrapped his non-bloodied arm around him just as the boy passed out. Without another word he scooped the sandy-haired teen and walked deeper into the quickly darkening woods. Death didn't bother the black haired male, never did really. He grew up where almost every other day someone else he knew would die. Be it a friend, family member or another orphan in the slums. The Beast had been another casualty that had absolutely no impact on him at all.

However one thing did bother him, the look in Selo's eyes when he killed. It was as though another far more feral animal hidden behind them. That meant his DNA might be unstable, not enough to kill him, but enough to separate the different parts of him. He'd need to be watched closely, if he lost control the older male wasn't sure if he could handle it.

"The kid, he can't stay with us." he turned and looked at the fox-eared male as the continued to walk the small game paths. "He's a liability, can't fight, no special skills." as far as he knew Dante, as was the teen's name, was being designed as a sort of exotic house pet. Part feline, part human. It was currently illegal to own genetically altered beings, but it wasn't stopping the people with a pocket full of credits. Sure he was fond of the kid, but if he went back there they'd kill him.

Selo nodded, feeling no remorse for the death of Beast, just not liking the fact that he had blacked out for it. He didn't want to see him self kill someone, it just scared him that he did things like that while not knowing it. Selo stood up, holding his gut, pain still surging his body as he stood.

He watched the kid start to fall and Kaleb catch him. He started to follow the male as he walked into the forest, hearing very faint foot steps. "They'll quite soon. It'll be too da'k" Selo stated, then listened to Kaleb speak. "We can't just set him out in the wild, the kid would be killed or worse, caught by the scientists again." Selo explained.

"He may not be helpful to us, but I'm sure life will be if we help him." Selo started, acting out of his normal stature. He was too banged up, and slightly worried, to try and make sarcastic jokes, or any kind of joke at all for a matter of fact.

"Here, let me carry him then. I'll protect him." Selo said, reaching an arm out, the wounds scared over but healed. He had a lot of dotted scars all over his body, signifying the places his thorns came out at. Selo was acting very calm, and gentle now, a complete opposite then when he was fighting Beast. Selo twitched his ear behind him and looked back, seeing nothing. "Did you hear that?" Selo asked, not sure if his mind was playing tricks on him or not.

Kaleb cocked his head to the side pausing for several minutes. For the life of him he was having hard pin pointing the source of the noise. They were to light to be the soldiers, to cautious to be any of the rampaging experiment. It had to be because of the blood loss he couldn't think clearly. Pulling on his partner's arm he veered of the path and jumped up into the nearby trees. He easily settled himself into one of the lighter branches.

A sheet of obsidian hair hid his eyes from view, but if you'd been looking they would've been glowing ever so softly. It was a form of vision not unlike what a snake would use, thermal. He was scanning the woods for any unusual heat masses that would indicate they were being followed on purpose. There were soldiers several meters off chasing after two smaller masses that indicated children of some kind. "I can't locate anything." he whispered softly. But he'd heard it too, something behind them.

Then he saw it a flicker of red some distance behind them, it was fast and precise. They were being tracked, not hunted. By something or someone who had skills similar to his own but much less polished. Luckily he knew how to lose someone like him, after all it was easier then one would think. "We need to get to some sort of cave system. Sound carries unclearly, it's hard to pinpoint a persons location when there are echoes." he jumped down from the tree and gestured for Selo to follow.

He heard water nearby, and water met there was bound to be a cave system somewhere. The neko was beginning to stir, good that meant if they had to go underwater he could swim on his own. Kaleb had always been fond of avoidance tactics. He was not built to fight despite the condition his body was in. Staying low to the ground he moved through the underbrush silently smiling as they located an entrance to a cave system.

Selo followed behind Kaleb, keeping an ear out. He knew all too well about echoes, and hated them beyond hell. He stood at the entrance of the cave and then turned around and looked to the forest. "Kaleb, head to the other end of the cave. I'll make him follow me. Get going, I can handle my self out here." Selo said to Kaleb.

The next instant, he was gone, and the sound of three pairs of foot steps made it's way around the mountain. Selo had been using so much speed he made it sound like he was three people running along the forest.

The tracker had stopped moving, listening to the sound and smirked. "Stitch..." The mysterious person said softly, being a good distance away. The person knew the sound of his foot steps too well, and knew his trickery as well as the foot steps. The figure continued moving, the person's feet making practically no sound at all still.

The tracking experiment stopped in front of the cave, seeing as the other person and the kid were already in the cave. The person twitched their ears, hearing the echoes and smirked as the sounds bounced every where. They opened their mouth and a high pitched screech sounded, only heard at high frequency hearing, such as a bat, dog, or other animal, or experiment. The person then made a dash into the cave and started to travel by sonar now.

Both Kaleb and Dante fell to their knees as a piercing shriek, his eyes were shut tightly and when the opened the glow was back. Gesturing for the startled neko to stay still he looked around the chamber they were in. Damn what he wouldn't have given to have been a psychic experiment sometimes, telepathy would've been damn handy with their other party member still outside.

What made no sense to him was why one of their own was tracking them. Almost every single person at the Solaris laboratories wanted freedom. Unless they were the ones that had gone through their personality conditioning. It was basically a form of legal brain washing; it turned free thinking beings into loyal little slaves ready to jump at the command of their handler. It also made them a tad more lethal then those who had their freewill still in tact. They'd walk through a burning building if ordered. However even as he stood he figured, this one might have chosen to work the enemy.

Grabbing the teen's hand he dashed from place to place hiding behind the low the stalagmites and tites that seemed to be everywhere you looked. The screech had numbed him for several minutes so their pursuer was too close for comfort. Opening his mouth he let out a resounding screech of his own to return the favor. Quickly he dashed around a corner into the second chamber. If there was an opening he could call to Selo but this one was fully encased as well. "Kaleb I can't!" Dante whimpered as he stumbled on the uneven cave floor almost bringing the other down. "I'm too slow; I don't have any enhanced skills."

"Shhh..." was his only response as they started down a narrow cave passageway the rocks grazing their sides. Turning he focused his gaze behind him located the heat beacon some 40 feet away. They'd made some distance but not enough to safely run without giving away their position. Selo where are you.... he thought.

The tracker stood still for a moment, hearing the foot steps stop and then in one moment, a screech was heard. The person opened their eyes and smirked, chasing quickly after the sound. Their ears where sensitive, but they were built to follow those loud noises, not be hindered by them.

This experiment was more then likely at the same level, if not higher, then Kaleb and Selo were. The tracker following Kaleb was making great time with their speed, catching up swiftly. The person heard a kid's whimpering, and only smirked as they followed the sound.

Soon, then slime figure caught up with Kaleb. Their body was covered in a kimono, loose though it was. It was obviously a she, but small sizes at to make for speed. She had on no form of foot wear, and had on a pair of black gloves, seeming to make her fist look just a tad bit bigger for some odd reason. "Caught you, Kaleb." Said the female, Sharina. She was also a legend tracker in the Solaris labs. Her code name was Silence, as she could hunt people down with utter silence, though her tactics of catching them out was with sound.

She had no physical manifestations clearly seen, except for her ears were longer. Some of the other people would joke and call her an Elf rather then a Human Experiment. Her skin was slightly paler, but that was all that was different about her from the immediate eye. If a close look was taken to her eyes, she would have a strange design in them, as if they were yinyangs for pupils. "Sorry that I had to do this, but, ya'know..." She said. She was known for being a suck up to money. She was obviously not brain washed, just pay her enough and she would get the job done.

Somehow he managed to push Dante's behind him and back up into another cave chamber. Had he known it was her, he would've changed his tactics. He'd sparred with Sharina several times during their initial training. "How much did they offer you for our capture?" he demanded quietly as Dante clung to his shredded shirt. He was trying to find the gun he'd stolen it was in the back of his jeans.

Casually he reached behind him grabbing the butt of the gun. It was just a government issued hand gun, nothing to overly special. With the amount of noise it would make there was probably a chance that there would be a cave in as well. Right now it was a last resort, how much easier it would've been to blow her brains out if she hadn't had any of her own to begin with. He disliked killing those at his level if only for the fact it seemed rather disloyal.

On second thought....he pressed the gun into the hands of the neko who managed to hide it without the other noticing. If anyone really needed the gun the kid did, he had no other way to fight if Kaleb should fall defending him. Of course she wasn't going to kill him, just knock him out or incapacitate him. The scientist's didn't want their prized subject dead, just near death.

The passageway emptied out into a large chamber that was oddly clear in the middle. A perfect place to call for help, or in this case stall until help got its fuzzy eared fox ass in here. Looking up briefly he let lose a very loud, very powerful screech hoping it reached outside and to Selo. As arrogant as he was, Kaleb needed him.

Silence bolted towards Kaleb and held a hand over his mouth. She closed her eyes and then opened them, a rock-like substance crawling over her body now. This was something completely new for her, having never used it while fighting Kaleb before. "Shhh....don't want to let Stitch hear us, now do we?" She said with a smirk, quickly twisting her hands.

With that movement she made Kaleb spin around and then thrusted her palms at him, sending him flying over the kid. "You might wana put the gun down, kid, before you get hurt." She warned, looking down at him. The next thing she knew she heard blade to rock and looked behind her to see Selo standing there, his thorns pressed against her body, only cutting threads.

"Oh, Stitch! You tore my new kimono!" She whined and then swung her fist around to give Selo a hook to the jaw. Too slow. He had ducked down and tripped her, using her momentum he then slammed his palm down on her throat, pushing it to the ground but only hurting his hand. She had slowed down considerably, but her strength was ten fold if not more.

Selo quickly leaped over her, trying to pick up the Neko, but having had his foot grabbed by Sharina and then tossed out the chamber and into a wall. "Son a bitch! You always were one for bad timing, weren't you Stitch!" She called out, standing up now. "You know me, always picking on the bigger guys." He said with a smirk, standing back up him self, holding a hand to his back. He looked at her body, seeing it covered entirely out of rock now, he hadn't even made a scratch on her yet. Damn it...our only chance is to try and out run her! But she can just drop that rock armor and chase after us...what can we do? He started to think.

He went flying through the air at her throw colliding painfully with the far wall and wincing as something cracked. Kaleb would heal soon enough; he hadn't expected her to be so straight foreword. That and she didn't have rock armor last time they sparred; apparently she'd chosen to go through more experiments. Shaking his head he stood shakily onto his feet and several things hit his awareness at once.

One: They were beside the river, the cave walls were slick with moisture.
Two: There appeared to be a small trickle of water escaping from what appeared to be a cave in of sorts.
And Three: There was a gap wide enough for someone to swim through about 50 feet above them.

Wordlessly he got Selo's attention and gestured to the lose rocks. If he could break enough away the cavern would flood fast and hard. Since there opponent was made of stone as it happened to be. If the water filled fast enough, she wouldn't be able to transform in time before drowning or getting slammed against the far wall. But there were several dangers to the sudden plan. Dante might not be a strong enough swimmer; he could misjudge and end up getting slammed against the wall as well. If all four of them were crushed my several hundred gallons of water, no one would win.

There was also a narrow side passage that might possibly be to narrow for her to get a decent grip on them. Then of course they could simply cause the passageway to cave in with a well placed shriek. However he had to wait until Selo got out of it before trying, or else the rocks would crush him as well.

Selo glanced at the things Kaleb was looking at, but then back to Sharina before she could see what he was looking at. Her attention was on Selo still, him being the slinky one of the bunch. He then smirked. He looked at the kid then back to Kaleb and winked his right eye.

He was basically saying to grab the kid. He looked back to Sharina and saw her smirking. "Oh, Stitch...you are so silly. Did you think I wouldn't hear that water running? Sorry, but I don't think you will get by me in time to break it down." She informed and Selo simply smirked. "Who says I would try and get around you?" He questioned to try and get her to look behind her.

She would have a look of shock on her face and quickly turn around to see if Kaleb was moving or not. And when she looked back over to Selo he was gone. She then heard the scratching of sharp blades hit rock. "Grab Neko!" He called out, punching one blade in and then lifting it up, a rock coming out now and then water started to pour in slowly, and then a jet stream came out and Selo stood to the side, it flying and hitting Sharina in the chest, pushing her back. Selo looked over to see if Kaleb did what he said.

Selo had planed it like this. He would let some water in first, slowly flooding the place and hoping that jet stream would hold Silence at bay long enough to let him bust the rest of the water into the cave. Selo then bolted over to Kaleb and hold his hands to his back, and braced his feet. "Hold on!" He called as the wall began to crack and slowly break apart, and a flood of water came crashing in now...

Kaleb clutched Dante close to him as water started to fill the cave. The boy was already panicking considering cats hated water. However his frantic struggling didn't phases the older male much in fact it seemed to annoy him more then anything else. "Stay Still!" he barked sharply and Dante froze.

The ebony haired male braced himself against a stalagmite as the water came gushing in holding the small boy in his arms. It took barely a minute before the water was threatening to go cover their heads. When he was certain they had enough above them he kicked off bringing the light weight neko with him. The water was murky and filled with minerals and blinded him both sight wise and hearing wise. When his head hit the top of the cave he swam foreword blindly locating the hold he'd seen before.

When he hit it he pushed Dante out and followed after him both coughing up the filthy water and scooting to the side to make room for Selo. "You think he's okay?" Dante said coughing lightly. "Yeah kid, he's fine." was all he said as he looked around them. They were some mile from where the started from.

There was no other enemy in sight, not allies, it was also quite late. Just to double check he switched back to his thermal vision and scanned for quickly approaching heat signatures, beneath him. He'd lost contact with the fox eared teen when the water hit him full blast, he was sure he was fine, he was worried Silence had managed to break free before the other was far enough ahead.

A hand reached down and grabbed the neko's wrist, quickly pulling him up. Dante would start to thrash and kick until he saw who was standing there. A soaking wet, white haired thorny fox boy. The thorns then sunk back into his body and he set the neko down. He then reach down and held out a hand.

"Need any more help?" He asked, water still dripping off his face and hair. He would then assist Kaleb up out of the hole, and sit down on the rocks. "Bet you're wondering how I got out here and beat you to the top. Well, the beating you was a cinch." He bragged with a chuckle. "The getting up here was the hard part. And don't worry, Silence is packed under gallons of water, she won't be able to sense where we are until the morning. But just in case, we should get moving." He informed

He then stood up and started to walk, holding an arm to his gut, and having a slight limp in his walk. He was injured, but due to his regeneration, it would mainly just be a bunch of pain rather then wounds soon. He looked back at the two and waved a hand gently. "Come on, the soldiers and scientists might stop, but a lot of these experiments won't. They will most likely find it easier to hunt in the night, so lets move our tails before they get eaten up." He stated, and then continued to walk.

Kaleb rolled his eyes and allowed Selo to assist him out of the small hole. His dark eyes had returned to normal and Dante was once again clinging to his arm soaked and shivering. As much as he hated to admit it he was impressed. The blonde fox read his thoughts easily when they were down in the cave, and he'd managed to get them both out of the flooded cave alive. "Good work." he said patting the damp male on the shoulder as the continued through the forest.

The forest grew progressively thicker as they strayed away from the river. The darkness so complete even the oldest of the three seemed to have trouble picking out certain things without using his specialized eye sight. About two hours into their steep climb Dante had passed out from exhaustion leaving the other two to balance him between them. It slowed them down far more then he would've liked. Groaning in discomfort he shifted the sandy haired neko from one arm to the other. So far they hadn't run into anyone else, Kaleb assumed it was because they were so far away from the lab now.

"Doing okay?" he questioned as the sat in a small clearing against the trees. They needed a break both were tired even with healed wounds. Sighing he stared up at the night sky lost in whatever thoughts were plaguing him. They needed to find a safe house for Dante, as much as he loved the kid, he really was slowing them down almost too much. Idly he stroked the teen's ears and studied him. He looked so much like and orphan from his home city, it was hard not to get attached.

Selo sat down and sighed. "Yeah...for the most part." He said, leaning his head back and looked to the sky. He twitched his ear and looked to the side. "We need to get under cover, rain is coming." He said, sniffing the air. "I know there is a cottage around here, somewhere." He stated.

Selo stood up and lifted the sandy haired neko onto his shoulder. He then started to walk in a certain direction, slightly diverted from their original path. After so long, the group made it to a cave, a dead ended one. He walked in it and rested the kid on the ground. "This won't be much different from the labs." He stated and sat on a rock. "Tell me, Kaleb, what exactly did they do to you? I'm sure we have time here to speak about it." Selo asked, leaning on his knees.

He could feel the thorns in his body shifting slightly as he moved, and the blades in his wrists as well. Just as it was stopping, he felt something in his mind screaming and trying to fight him. He couldn't really describe it, but it had the stress of him fighting Beast or Silence, and caused such a headache, he felt like he would rather have the needles stuck in him. Due to this pain, he grasped his hair and fell to the ground, curled up in a fetal position.
