Seeing Kelira figure out where to put her arms - and coming up with a solid answer – a warm smile flashes across Iziki's lips, as her head stays turned long enough to make sure Kelira can't miss her approval. See? It's not that hard.
"That's good. Chin up, take pride in being seen … you are a sexy, worthy, valuable creature … But of course any guest is more important than any staff, so eyes down slightly to show you know your place."
Unlike Kelira, Iziki isn't technically staff, so while she is respectful, she has no need to stand at attention, instead, she stands facing the doorway to the office section, one hand on the banister to the stairs, allowing Kelira a spot on the landing behind her.
When the tailor enters the trophy room, Iziki invites him further.
"Please, come in." Upon hearing his concern for disturbing her, the curvaceous elf makes a little mental note. More apologetic than he needs to be, Iziki files this away for later consideration. Of course, it could just be a natural bias towards the polite – an affliction she herself shared. But it could be something else, too. Resolving to keep her eyes open, with a bright and friendly smile on her lips, Iziki wonders if perhaps Rivelin needs protecting as well. But that question does not need to be answered today – Kelira was an emergency case, Rivelin was less helpless. Having done enough healing in other games, she knew all about triage for the most deeply wounded, while carefully monitoring the status of the rest of the party.
"It is no trouble. These stairs, …" fingers slide across the cherrywood of the banister,
"… lead to my quarters as well, though I normally receive visitors through the second-floor entry and sitting room." The smile shifts a little, getting a hint of playfulness,
"Not the bedchambers."
As Lili prowls around, the little feline can feel the glow of power coming off some – frankly most – of the items in the room. Apart from the purely decorative, nothing in here is common or even uncommon. There's a set of Striker Bandit's armor in the corner – Iziki likes the aesthetics, with its dashing hunter green accented with ultratight black leather pants, and a luxurious golden (the color, not the gear rank) cape, even on the display mannequin it looks fantastic; though its stats don't really work for her – and a halberd on the wall also has blue rank, but everything else is purple, gold or in a couple cases: diamond.
And then there is that chest. With no interference from Iziki, Lili can get right up to it. At first, as she closes in there is a tingle of abjuration magic that spawns a [
Protection from Scrying - Major ] buff on Lili's pet status bar, followed quickly by [
Fumbling Fingers – Lockpicking Skill Reduced ]. When she paws at the chest itself, there are no new buff indicators. But instead …
Dark forms shifting, swirling, closing in on the kittens. But then, in a halo of silver and gold, a Lili-esque defender leaps in front of the helpless ones. The shadows close in; attempting to bind, to dazzle, to stun, any trick that will let them past to the easy buffet behind … yet the silver flashes turn away each strike, and the vision-Lili stands, dauntless against the shades who are forced to pull back, whimpering in rage, unable to satisfy their hunger.
And then there is a circle of other felines, hissing as the spin around vision-Lili, the silver in her halo replaced with black, though the gold still twines with the sable. The hostile cats charge, and though they bite and scratch, they can inflict only superficial damage. Yes, their target gets scratches, but as they pull back, the other cats have grievous wounds that drip with blood as they scurry away from the triumphant cat.
Another scene shift, this time the kittens are working together to bring down a mighty gazelle, but struggle to keep up with the prey's graceful leaps and shifts, tired mews of fatigue sounding from the group. Yet with a crimson coat and argent accent, vision-Lili pounces, paws flying. The gazelle is still just as fast, still flails about trying to get away. But Lili is tireless and resilient, and in the end there is no escape. The kittens will dine well.
And then one last scene. This one tinged with … heat. This time vision-Lili is not the stalker, not the protector, not the fighter. This time, she is the one in need, her little paws stuck on vines as she tugs at them in futility. Shadow, touched with iron, swirls around her. A half-purr rumbles from the throat of the other cat in the vision, who shakes out his handsome mane as he pads closer, letting his masculine scent wash over the trapped feline, licking the side of her face. He slinks behind her, and she feels the press of his weight on her back, yet still the vines will not yield!
And then the visions end.
Meanwhile, Iziki is speaking,
"Hmm. What do you think, my pet? Do you wish multiple outfits? There may be a price, but I am sure we can all come to a … comfortable agreement."
She takes note of the implication of costs and perquisites, but it is too early to determine exactly where Rivelin fits in her plans. And Iziki is the kind of person who has a plan for everything from dungeon plundering to the most efficient pattern for browsing shops in the market.
"Shall we head upstairs? I believe we will all find it more relaxing. Adventure is exhilarating, of course, but cushioned furniture more suited to comfort, and the promise of fine beverage - if you will forgive an artist a little pride in her work."
