It pained her to see Benji so conflicted. It was not easy for her either, but she always thought of him first. Gabriella did linger outside of the door when he finally went inside. Maybe he would come back out and change his mind? It sounded cute, but what would they do? He needed to rest, but it was easier said than done when it came to Benji. With a barely audible sigh, she turned on her heel and headed up the night flight of stairs to her apartment. Already she could hear the tv in her mom's room running. As the front door was opened she could see that her mom's bedroom door was cracked with the light and noise from the tv spilling into the rest of the apartment.
With a peek into her mom's room she could see that she had actually fallen asleep with the tv on, remote in hand. Gabby slid the remote from her mom's hand. "Good night mom." Like clockwork that was her mom's queue to grumble a good night to her daughter and roll over to get more comfortable. "The empty wine bottle on the side of her mom's bed spoke volumes. The tv was turned off and she set the remote on her mom's side table before she walked out and closed the door.
Gaby managed to get into her room, slip her clothes off, and brush her teeth when she hear her little text chime go off. She was dressed in an oversized t-shirt that actually belonged to Benji. Long locks were loose and framed her face as she looked down at her phone with the messages that were sent by Benji. Of course, he couldn't sleep. Her bedroom light was turned off and the blanket on the back of the sofa was pulled down and a pillow was positioned on the sectional sofa.
It was cool outside and a breeze kissed at the exposed flesh of her legs and arms, but her slippers that were on her feet kept her from feeling the cold of the cement stairs as she made her way down.
"Come outside."

If he would join her she was going to take him upstairs and just crawl on the sofa with him and call it a night. Knowing her mother, she had doubts that the woman would get made. On the sofa, it was clear that her daughter was not trying to hide anything and there was an alarm set on her phone for 8AM for no real reason other than trying to get better at waking up at an appropriate time. The seconds felt like an eternity as she waited for Benji. If he fell asleep before getting her text it would be a laughing matter. It would be good that he managed to fall asleep, but suck that she came downstairs in just an oversized t-shirt at night to retrieve him. Only time would tell.
