Aileen recovered quite nicely in a short time after giving birth to their daughter. She was up and about in no time doing her duty as the lady of the house, and she made as much time as she could to be with Annelise. She was so tiny and fragile when Ludwig held the infant, but she was just as precious to him as Aileen was. He would do everything he could for both of them to be happy.

Ludwig was discussing winter planning with the head maid when Wilhelm approached him.
"Forgive my interruption, lord," he said gently, "but I have gravely important news."

 

[Mr.Aznable]

He made a noise and looked over. "What is it?"

 

[PoisonousIvee]

"There have been reports of bandits in the neighboring area, toward the mountains. The people there fear their safety." He said.

 

[Mr.Aznable]

He frowned. "The local guards are not up to the task?"

 

[PoisonousIvee]

He frowned softly, "They have been killed, lord.." He replied solemnly, "the bandit group out numbered them vastly.."

 

[Mr.Aznable]

"Damn." He said. "Very well, makre ready a small party, we will take care of it."

 

[PoisonousIvee]

"Ludwig?" When he turned, Aileen was there, cradling Annelise in her arms, "Has something happened?" She looked worried, sad.

 

[Mr.Aznable]

"There is some small trouble near the mountains, I'll be going to see it taken care of." He said.

 

[PoisonousIvee]

She frowned heavily, "You're leaving...?" She asked softly, holding Annelise tighter and causing the child to squirm a bit.

 

[Mr.Aznable]

"For a small bit of time, yes.." he said.

 

[PoisonousIvee]

She moved closer and laid her head against his chest, "When will you leave...? Today...?"

 

[Mr.Aznable]

"Yes, so I can return just as quickly.." he said.

 

[PoisonousIvee]

Annelise fussed gently and Aileen looked up at him, "You better return to me...to us..." She said.

 

[Mr.Aznable]

"I will, lieben.. I promise.." he said.

 

[PoisonousIvee]

She smiled sadly and held onto him as best as she could, "It's a shame you don't have time to give me a token of farewell.." She half teased.

 

[Mr.Aznable]

He nearly shuddered. "I will make it up to you when I get home.."

She hummed and moved to kiss him, "I would accept it even on a Sunday, liebe...~"

 

[Mr.Aznable]

He almost shook, but he held himself in check and kissed back.

Annelise whined and Aileen laughed softly, kissing her head gently, "Do you want papa, mäuschen...?"

 

[Mr.Aznable]

He kissed her forehead gently and moved to hold her for a moment before he gave her back and got ready to leave.

Aileen shadowed him the whole time, bouncing Annelise gently to keep her settled as Ludwig prepared to leave. "The bed will be so cold without you.." She said gently.

 

[Mr.Aznable]

"I know, Lieben.." he said.

She laid Annelise gently on the bed before she moved to him, stopping him from putting on the last of his armor before she kissed him slowly.

 

[Mr.Aznable]

He made a low noise and kissed back, moving his arms over her slowly.
