His hands found Todoroki's hips but his grip on them wasn't aggressive. He was just placing them there, because that touch in his hair was placating him, making his tone of voice sound a little less full of murderous intent. He even leaned into it a little drunk, finding it easier to just relax around Todoroki.

"Shouldn't you be worrying about your damn dad?" he muttered as if he caught exactly what Todoroki was skirting around. His mom would be annoying at most but she was a good mother deep down, and would support whatever he wanted, or whoever he loved. He worried that she would just curse at him for being a lousy boyfriend to Todoroki. His dad he wasn't worried about. He was a spineless deadbeat anyway, and he didn't care what deadbeats had to say about his life.

He didn't know the full details about Todoroki's dysfunctional family but he knew enough about Endeavor to make some comments. "What, your old man wants a perfect grandkid, too?"

"Probably," Todoroki answered to both questions. His mother wouldn't care, he knew from the relationship they were rebuilding that she just wanted him to be happy. The way she'd never been able to be. His brother might not get it, but his sister was so determined to fix their family she'd do whatever it took. Probably invite Bakugo to Christmas and then panic when he growled at her.

His father ... Todoroki took a deep breath. Would hate it. He'd hate the negative press. He'd hate that it was Bakugo. And yeah, he'd probably hate that he couldn't fuck around and breed a perfectly quirked grandchild too. College had given them some distance, but he wasn't naive enough to think peace would last.

He pushed it from his mind. He knew from their last breakup that losing Bakugo wasn't something he wanted to do again. He'd never had much to hold on to. But this? This was his.

"You really wanna do this?" He asked, meeting Bakugo's gaze. "Come out with me?"

Bakugo shoved his hands into his pockets again and rolled his neck to crack a few joints. "Oi, already said I would," he muttered. He'd do it if it meant that he could come out with Todoroki, so at least he wasn't alone as he took on society's criticism. Todoroki was raised under pressure but Bakugo lived to break it. His only obstacle thus far had been himself, mostly trying to accept himself as gay, rather than being afraid of whatever anyone else had to say.

"The hell does that mean anyway..." Bakugo mumbled. Was "coming out" some kind of a public event where they actually had to announce that they were fucking each other? It sounded bizarre, but the way Todoroki said it made it sound like some magnanimous ordeal he needed to prepare a speech for.

"You wanna ditch the party? Go on a walk?" he asked, tossing the offer like a bone. Todoroki looked like he'd just had a panic attack and Bakugo just wanted to make sure he had enough time to calm down.

He wasn't sure what it meant either. Coming out. He just knew that they wouldn't have to hide anymore. Wouldn't have to avert gazes or avoid each other at parties or worry about what they said when others could hear them. It sounded ... freeing.

Todoroki nodded at the offer and loosened his neck tie before tugging off his gloves and leaving them on their small dinner table.

He walked towards their door but hesitated before leaving and held his hand out to his boyfriend. If they were going to do this, they could be like any other couple, and hold hands while they walked.

He stared at Todoroki's hand for a long time, knowing what it meant, and how their friends were going to stare at them if they walked past the party like this. He supposed it was either that, or they saw him getting walked out by the chain in Todoroki's hand instead.

He took a deep breath, and took Todoroki's hand, his palm sweaty from his nerves. His hands were meant to blow things up, not hold someone else's.

"Easy," he muttered as if to convince himself that this would be a piece of cake. Though, he waited for Todoroki to make the first move to head downstairs, letting him go at his own pace.

Todoroki twined their fingers together and stared at their hands for a moment. They'd never really been this soft with each other. They had plenty of moments where they weren't fighting or fucking, sure, but holding hands was something so ... romantic ...

He leaned forward and stole a soft kiss before he headed outside. From their room they went down and through the party, and he felt eyes on them. He saw Mina with her hands over her mouth and her grin barely hidden, and Midoriya with his wide eyes and his cup almost breaking in his grip, and Kirishima who gave him a barely concealed thumbs up.

He smiled slightly and lead them all the way outside, where the cool October air felt like physical relief blowing through his hair. The panic he'd felt earlier finally faded away. They could do this.

Bakugo was far from cool when the stares were pointed their way. "What the hell are you looking at?!" he yelled at Mineta, almost kicking him out of the nearest window had he not been holding Todoroki's hand. He was almost like a chained, rabid dog trying to lash out at the others for even looking in their direction which attracted more attention in the end.

Once they were outside, he shoved his other hand into his pocket, his expression deepened into a scowl at first before it relaxed once they were walking alone.

They made quite the attraction, one a vampire and the other a werewolf, but in a world full of quirky people, they didn't look so outrageous. He squeezed Todoroki's hand, glancing over to check if his boyfriend still looked uneasy about all of this.

Of course, he was nervous as hell about this too but somehow his fears and worries took a backseat to Todoroki's.

"When did you know?" he mumbled. "That you liked guys."

Todoroki didn't say a word when Bakugo lashed out, just held his hand tighter and kept walking. Once they were outside he caught his thumb rubbing circles into Bakugo's skin, but he didn't see a reason to stop, so he didn't.

There weren't a lot of people out, most at their own parties. The few who were were stealing a smoke or a make out against a building. No one bothered them, and he took that as a good sign.

The question caught him off guard, and he thought for a moment, tracing it back. "It wasn't really ... I mostly knew that I didn't like girls." He sat with that sentence for a moment. "Natsuo and um, Toya. When they were teenagers. They talked about girls all the time. But I never really understood. And I wanted to, because I wanted to get along with my brothers. Not that dad let me, but-" he stopped that line of thinking, and went back to the topic at hand. "I thought for awhile that I just didn't like anyone but. I got older and -" he huffed out what could count as a laugh. "Gym class."

Bakugo wasn't used to this. Just talking. Even as a kid he'd always had others talking about him, teachers gushing about how great of a kid he was and how he was destined for greatness. Growing up, he was comfortable with people praising him, so naturally he didn't care to talk about anyone else, even to ask about their day. He just didn't care about people the way Deku did, but little by little, he was learning how to do just that, but with Todoroki.

He was asking questions. He was listening. He was even reacting with expressions and words that didn't come from a place of anger or jealousy.

"Gym class?" he arched a brow. "What, in UA High?"

Holding Todoroki's hand got easier, so much that he laced their fingers together instead of just holding it casually, the way lovers should. They weren't any different from the boy-and-girl pairs enjoying their own dates outside.

He glanced down for a moment when he felt the change in Bakugo's grasp, but didn't mention it for fear of Bakugo ripping his hand away. He just kept walking, slowly, leisurely, letting the cool night ease his anxieties.

He shot a look at his boyfriend out of the corner of his eye and smiled - really smiled, not the small quirks at the edge of his mouth that passed as smiles. "There was a day freshman year, we were running bleachers, it was excruciatingly hot, do you remember? You beat everyone and grabbed two water bottles. Drank one and with the other just ... took the lid off and..." his throat went dry and he used his free hand to mimic lifting a water bottle above his head and tipping it over. He swallows thickly, a little guiltily. "If Kirishima hadn't been in front of me I would have face planted."

The blond caught that smile just in time when he was just glancing at the scenery, and blinked a few times before his cheeks pinkened. Bakugo was never caught off-guard, not like this, but that smile disarmed him and made him sputter in surprise.

He recovered with a snort. "You were eyeballing me then, too? Damn pervert," he muttered under his breath, but as an obvious tease. His answer was a bit more embarrassing. He could have just said he'd found Todoroki hot on a regular gym day or something, but the truth was that the first time he'd fallen for him, was when he'd caught a glimpse of Todoroki staring out the window during homeroom class. Not doing anything. Not even naked. Shoto had just been staring out the window and Bakugo had just been... entranced.

"So, I was your first?" he muttered, uncharacteristically shy.

It wasn't the only time he'd noticed Bakugo, because one thing the other male was good at was calling attention to himself. He'd liked little things about him too, the way he looked when he watched the pros fight, how smart he was, how determined he got about things. That day in gym had just made him realize it wasn't simply a desire to know him, or a want to be more like him, or even aesthetic attraction. That day, he'd finally put it together. The realization had come pretty easily, he'd been working towards it since he was rather young. Dealing with his crush afterwords had been a bit more complicated.

Todoroki slowed at Bakugo's question, and made a curious noise in the back of his throat. "My first everything," he noted. First crush, kiss, sex, 'I love you', handhold. It seemed odd, once he thought about it, like he should have other experiences. And maybe there had been other crushes, but none that had made his heart beat the way his crush on Bakugo had.

At that, Bakugo's grip only seemed to tighten more in Todoroki's. Being Todoroki's first had to come with a lot of pressure. He was Todoroki's standard for everything and by default he could only get even better or worse from there. Even in his relationship, he was fighting against himself, it seemed.

"You're lame," he said, as if an insult would make the situation less emotionally charged. "But I should have known. You were a real obvious virgin the first time we did it, eh, Todoroki?" Bakugo flashed him a toothy smile. "You were blushing so damn much I thought the other side of your face got red, too."

Then again, that had been his first time with a guy, too, and Bakugo had his share of blunders, like being overeager and not knowing how to slow down or be gentle.

Looking back, he probably should have told him. He'd wanted to badly to seem cool and experienced and like he had it all together that he hadn't thought about how it would effect the physicality of things. It probably worked in his favor that he liked to hurt a little, for whatever reason. It'd been fine, in the end. Not perfect, because sex was messy and they'd been young, but he hadn't regretted it, and a lot of people couldn't say the same.

"Shut up," he said, bumping his shoulder into Bakugo's, blushing. He still got embarrassed these days, and Bakugo had seen him in plenty of positions and in plenty of ways, but that didn't stop him from wanting to hide his face while it happened.

"What about you?" He asked. "When did you know."

Bakugo turned his face back to look straight ahead. "When you got naked," he said, but then he gauged Todoroki's reaction to that before he amended with a more honest answer. He felt easy about opening up tonight, maybe that was the freedom attached to "coming out."

"When you were looking out a window once, in class," he said, like it was more embarrassing to admit that than if he'd just left it with a lie. "Something about your face." He pursed his lips and tousled his hair with the other hand. "Grr, I don't know, okay? You just looked pretty so I stared."

It was more than that, though. Bakugo had felt drawn to Todoroki after that, after all his displays of power, he'd respected him, so much that he'd been pissed when Todoroki hadn't given him his all at the sports festival.

He glanced over, his shoulders rolling back and his expression a bit aloof as if he was pretending he didn't care so much about Todoroki's well-being. "Eh, you're okay now, right?"

The answer surprised him more than it should, and he felt a little stupid for how he'd reacted after their breakup now. He'd gotten so wrapped up in the bad, in the women he'd heard Bakugo had been with, in ignoring how much he missed him, by coming up with the idea that he hadn't meant anything. That he'd been an easy target for teenage sexual frustration. But it hadn't been like that at all.

He'd been expecting to make a pervert joke back, but ... "So I was your first too, huh?"

He didn't press though, it was amazing that he'd gotten so much out of Bakugo already. "I'm okay now," he agreed, and ran his thumb over the back of his boyfriends hand again. He debated with what he was going to say, but in the end he decided Bakugo probably wouldn't blow him up, so he said, "thank you."

Bakugo felt vulnerable, like he'd clawed his heart straight out of his chest and laid it on a silver platter for Todoroki to do as he wished. He'd already done that once and despite what Todoroki or anyone might have thought about him having tough skin, his break-up with Todoroki had hurt, a lot. It had hurt to be rejected by All Might, his first hero, to then be rejected by Todoroki, his first... well, everything.

Everyone just expected him to just get over it and continue on, so that was what he'd done, trying to fuck as many women as possible to prove that Todoroki hadn't left him in pieces.

"Yeah," he said to sum up his thoughts. He stared at Todoroki a while before he sighed through his nostrils. "The hell are you thanking me for? Don't just start saying anything on your mind and making this weird, Todoroki."

He thought, this time, it would be better. Maybe it was age, maybe it was college, maybe it was having been through a breakup and knowing they didn't like it, but something had changed. They could talk to each other now. Bakugo bristled and Todoroki was still reserved but something had changed.

"I could make it weirder," he offered, with a rare streak of mischief in his eyes that clearly said he was enjoying himself. He reached for Bakugo's chain again and tugged on it much harder than he had in public, pulling his boyfriend down the few inches of their height difference. "I could tell you I love you again."

Bakugo was undeniably gay. There was just something about Todoroki's deep voice that set him off, and the sharp tug that was a testament to the other male's power, too. Bakugo wouldn't fall for weak, spineless things, anyway.

He popped a boner and a blood vessel in that moment as he tried to yell to cover up his embarrassment. "H-Hey, don't just spring that on me out of nowhere!" he growled.

Bakugo was far too shy and feeling a little too vulnerable to return the words as confidently, so he yanked the chain back into his possession. "It's not a damn toy," he quipped. "Let's go back. I want to see Deku cry when he loses the stupid contest with his diaper costume."

Todoroki hummed. "It could be." But he let the subject drop and, still holding his boyfriends hand, he turned them back towards the dorms.

He hadn't said those words since the first time, when they'd been in past tense and he and Bakugo had both been hurting. But loving Bakugo had never gone away, and it wasn't like he was waiting for the perfect time to say it again - just for a time that Bakugo might not blow him up.

When they got back, the party had simmered down. The lights were up and competitions were taking place. Uraraka and Midoriya were bobbing for apples, with Iida taking close score. He had a feeling they were the most sober group in the party.

A few people noticed their return, but Todoroki hoped no one would make a big deal. Mina caught his eye, dramatically glanced at their clasped hands, and gave him a look that said she'd be asking for details later. He shuffled closer to Bakugo, as if that would save him.

They were still holding hands when they arrived at the party. Their friends were staring, naturally, and Bakugo tried his hardest not to pull his hand from Todoroki's just because of their looks. That wouldn't be fair to Todoroki, and he needed to let Todoroki know that he was here every step of the way, even for the annoying bits.

"What the hell are you staring at?!" he snarled at the group of them. "Something interesting over here, fuck-faces?!" His rage prompted the others to get back to whatever they were doing and heeding them no mind lest they wanted to provoke Bakugo's ire.

He finally let Todoroki's hand go when the contest went underway to announce the best costume of the evening.

They all took turns getting on top of the coffee table and showing off their costumes, even Bakugo who lit fireworks in the palm of his hands and threatened anyone who wouldn't vote for him.

He was drunk enough to do a howl, as requested, for the girls to take their commemorative pictures.

Even though Todoroki had worked hard on his costume, he hadn't been interested in competing, so he stayed back when Bakugo went on. He had a really good chance of winning, which was nice.

Mina had found her way next to him, he wasn't surprised. She shrieked with glee when sparks flew from Bakugo's hands and snapped quick pictures with her phone. "He looks great!"

"He does," Todoroki agreed.

"Soooooo," she said, "those stray golf balls you keep seeming to be attacked by. Any chance they're owned by Bakugo?"

For a moment, his shoulders stiffened, but he remembered his conversation with his boyfriend and allowed himself to calm down. Mina was his friend, she didn't look angry or condemning, just curious and excited.

"Maybe," he said, and quirked a small smile when she groaned.

They watched as Bakugo ended his turn and Denki drunkingly climbed up to show off his Pikachu costume. He was glad Kirishima was there to catch him when he fell.

"You're happy?" She asked.

Bakugo was watching the votes get turned in with his hackles raised and his arms crossed and Todoroki couldn't help but smile. "Very."

Bakugo never participated this enthusiastically for a contest or any event but Halloween was right up his alley and he felt more free to enjoy things than usual.

That was why when Iida was just about done tallying up the votes, he rushed over to grab Todoroki by his cape, snatching him from his conversation with Mina. "Hey! You forgot Todoroki, damn it," he growled, making sure to push Shoto onto the coffee table for his five seconds of glory.

With Ochako shining her handheld flashlights on him like makeshift strobe lights, the audience ooh'ed and ahh'ed, the women mostly gawking at the eye candy.

Bakugo grinned, honestly proud, even if he was determined to win those meal tickets himself.

"Do a pose, Todoroki-kun!" Ochako chirped.

"Hey - Katsu!" Todoroki snapped when Bakugo dragged him off. He hadn't wanted the attention that came with being on the table, and he channeled a glare Bakugo himself had taught him to shoot at him once he was up there.

He felt awkward up there by himself but at Urarakas insistence he thought quickly and used his cold hand to create a burst of air behind his cloak to lift it, and hovered his other hand near his throat, hoping his expression was menacing and very 'I will suck your blood' Dracula. He half expected someone to laugh, but instead there was one wolf whistle and a handful of claps before he jumped down and watched other votes get added.

It felt ... oddly normal after the breakdown he'd had earlier.

Bakugo, of course, looked on like the proud boyfriend he was, and only snapped his glare towards whoever had wolf-whistled in the crowd.

Even when he wasn't blushing or just being cute, Bakugo found himself frustratingly attracted to this side of Todoroki too. The aloof, and even manly side of him.

When the votes were being collected and tallied once more, Bakugo turned around so Todoroki couldn't see whose name he was writing down, even if it was obvious. "Tch, don't look," he said to his boyfriend, and once his vote was cast, he returned behind Todoroki to lock his arms around his waist and hook his chin over his shoulder.
