"No, I do..!" He said.

He blinked again, "Oh, ok.." He replied and gently pet his thigh.

He relaxed again, silently cursing how he would stumble over words.

The ride was quiet and long, and when the sun started to set, Menthis moved to set up camp.

Cali helped when he could, but that may have been a stretch. So, he waited for the fire to be started before cooking.

Menthis was more equipped physically to set up the tent anyway. And what an attractive feat he made it seem.

Cali watched him with adoration, even though it caused him to nearly burn their food. Twice.

"Cali, the food." He reminded gently, looking over at the smoke.

 

[Mr.Aznable]

"Oh gods!" He exclaimed, before moving to fix it and laugh softly.

He chuckled and moved over, "That's ok, I like a bit of char."

 

[Mr.Aznable]

He laughed and smiled as he moved to serve up the food for both of them.

 

[PoisonousIvee]

"It looks wonderful, Cali, thank you." He said gratefully, "I'm just sad I couldn't pack any ale.."

 

[Mr.Aznable]

Cali smiled a bit. "I packed two bottles in my pack.." he said, moving to grab them.

"How smart you are." He praised, "I was worried they would break on our journey."

 

[Mr.Aznable]

He smiled and handed him a bottle as he started drinking his own slowly.

He ate rather happily; sure he gained more nutritional value if it were raw but he didn't mind. Callion was a good cook, focused or not.

Callion finished his food, and simply sat back and enjoyed his ale.

"Hungry?" He smiled, his own plate still full.

 

[Mr.Aznable]

Cali smiled and laughed a bit. "I suppose so.."

 

[PoisonousIvee]

"That's good, you need a little more meat." He teased in good fun.

 

[Mr.Aznable]

"No, I don't think I want to~ Besides, I rather think you like my slender figure~" he said.

Gods, did he ever. He smiled more, "I do, it suits you better than a frame like mine would.."

 

[Mr.Aznable]

He waved his hand and continued drinking. "Flatterer..~" he said before gasping and spilling a bit of ale on himself.

 

[PoisonousIvee]

He gripped his fork tightly as he stared. "O-Oh, Cali.."

 

[Mr.Aznable]

"I know, I know, I should be more careful..~" he teased, not knowing just how close Menthis was to breaking.
