The capital of the elven kingdom was a bustling city full of different races just going about their lives. Cestradae, while typically met with disdain, were treated rather warmly by the others in the city. A stark contrast to be sure. There was one such Cestradae stood beside a small stall of little knick knacks from the sea; he was rather talk for his kind with a massive built form. His scales were a gentle periwinkle hue with a faint purple shimmer in the sun, his pale green eyes soft as he watched the people look over his wares. He greeted everyone rather happily, a bit soft spoken compared to how he looked. It was jarring for most who came to him, though his regulars found it endearing.

The stand was about the main market area, next to a small tavern. In the tavern, a lean, curvy figure could be seen darting around and occasionally dropping a plate or cup. They would freeze and apologise profusely, before grabbing another one for the customer, who would wave them off, smiling. His name was Callion, but everyone called him Cali. Newcoming explorers would eye him up before discovering his sex, others didn't care. He would politely tell them off, because he was spoken for.

Most everyone knew Callion was with Menthis, the giant hulking shark who stood not far from the tavern. Not everyone did, obviously, and it was very rare that Menthis would be called from his stand to keep his petite lover out of trouble - or worse. But it only turned out worse one time. And Menthis did not enjoy any second of it, so he refused to resort to that again.

They lived a generally peaceful life, and nobody who knew them spoke a mean word about the odd couple.

It seemed like a blink of an eye before he heard the door open and soft shuffling, a telltale sign that Menthis was squeezing through the small door frame.

He turned quickly and smiled, before gasping as he nearly flung the ale out of a tankard he was carrying. He set it down and smiled, waving as he left the patron, moving toward Menthis. "Hey hun! Somethin I can get ya?"

"Just some water..." He said gently, his massive hand carefully petting Callion's head, "But please focus on those who were first..."

He scoffed gently. "Ohhh, fine." He said with a fake pout. He moved back to take care of some of the other customers before moving back with a tsnkard of water for him.

He was clumsy, forgetful, but he was sweet, and genuinely good natured. Being as cute as he was didn't hurt, either.

His smile stretched further and further across his face, eyes almost becoming drunk with love and affection.

Cali ended up having to clean the tables, having made a good portion of the mess himself. The tavern was empty now. The door was locked. Most of the candles were out. And Cali was none the wiser to the situation in which he found himself.

"Callion." Menthis hadn't left all day. Odd, considering he only stopped in for a brief minute before returning to his stand. Maybe he decided to close early today?
