I'll be your sacrifice... (Anansi x KiKi)

He made his way out of the valley and stood at its edge peering down from the top of a cliff. He scanned the distance curtly before sighing. "Now which ways that temple." He added with a slow shake of his head. It had been a while.

'Temple....' She questioned to herself. Where were they going? She closed her eyes again having a bad feeling about this.

"He laughed. "You ever wonder if you were meant to be alone?" He said slowly as he made his way through the trees. "As if you'll forever find yourself unable to be complete...to feel whole. To feel as if you have..something..anything of worth.." He said solemnly.

She heard his words and opened her eyes. She had known this feeling. But she had wanted someone else...She had been in love. But that didn't matter now. She nodded in response.

"I can tell you don't feel the same, after a few decades that will change." He said slowly as he made his way through the trees coasting along with a soft sigh.

Looking up at him she felt the sadness pull at her heart. After all he had done she still felt sorry for him. This reflected in her eyes.

"I don't need your pity." He snarled as he continued to shoot from tree to tree refusing to look down at her as he moved his eyes darting through their surroundings.

She still looked up at him before nuzzling into his chest. She knew he didn't want her feeling but she decided to give it anyway.

He sighed as he continued a large black obelisk now in the distance. "Finally." He muttered as he stopped and looked it up and down briefly.

He made his way into the spire. Its walls were lined with gore and various bones of the hundreds that tried to ascend it and fell to its numerous traps. Slowly he made his way up the stairs stepping over a body, or a part here and there.

Her eyes widened as she looked around. She had seen some disturbing things before but this topped her list. Her eyes wandered around for a while before she looked back up at him.

The bodies thinned out as he got closer to the top and finally there were no more. The traps only got worse as it went along. Now there were simply pieces that lay scattered here and there and eventually they reached a pristine area, clean and almost new in its appearance. After another twenty minutes there came a door.

She still wondered what he going to do with her. She had wondered this from the start but she hadn't said anything. Still not saying a word she decided to wait and see.

Making his way through the door the tapped a panel on the wall and various lights came on. The light was provided by several crystals on the wall and it light a large room with various medical instruments about it.

She looked around and slowly pieced together what he might be doing. She was slightly worried but knew he didn't plan on killing her but more pain was involved. She was sure of that.

Laying her out on a black slab he quickly stripped and restrained her. His fingers slowly brushed along her body as he did so before he walked away towards a large chest.

She didn't struggle she just stared up at the ceiling. She shivered slightly as his fingers traced along her flesh. Her eyes wandered over to him as she watched him walk away. Her head was becoming foggy. Her vision hazy. The blood loss was beginning to catch up to her.

He slowly sat next to her resting a tray of instruments on a nearby table as he leaned over and raised a deep black scalpel.
It glinted as it caught the light before he lowered it to her arm and he pressed down slowly just below the joint of her elbow.

She didn't even move as he pressed the instrument to her arm. More pain...This was nothing new by now. This was just a repeat performance.

He reached down to below the table and brought up a needle. Pushing the plunger slightly he cleared the tip and expelled the oxygen as he stuck it into her arm and injected her quickly. Sitting a few minutes he waited for the anesthesia to go to work.

Her eyes widened as he stuck her with the needle. What was this? She relaxed a moment later if her body was in pain she felt like it wasn't now. Had he actually given her a break from all of it. Closing her eyes a thankful tear graced her cheek. Smiling slightly she mouthed a small thank you.

He ignored the thanks and went to work. Slowly he cut open her arm just below her elbow up to her wrist and spread the skin apart holding it there with a spreader as he ran his now gloved fingers along the tendons. Finding the nerves he had damaged he began to piece them apart and then back together rewiring it so she could regain the use of her hand.

She just relaxed hoping he wasn't numbing her just so he could mess her up even more. Just keeping her eyes closed she slowly drifted off to sleep.
