How to Care for Your Human [Gambuiness x Degu]

Leta cringed too when Serenity called Matthew their Master but she didn't said anything. He should do it himself, maybe it could be a first step to get along a little better.
She turned her attention back to Serenity, ''That would be great honey. And you can tell it to him later by yourself. Give him and us all here a bit of time and be open minded yourself. I will leave you now, so you can enjoy your bath.'' She pointed her finger in a certain direction, ''When you are done, you can use that big towel over there, it should cover you up properly. I will look up some of my old clothes and put them in your room while you bath. We were not expecting someone today so we have no other choice. Tomorrow we both will go out, look for new clothes and new shoes.'' Leta smiled at Serenity, ''It is good that you are here.''

Leta turned around and left the room. As she was going, her blouse got a little out of place and her shoulder was visible for a moment. There was a huge burn wound that expanded to downwards, Leta tensed up for a moment, looked to Serenity shortly and quickly left the room.

Matthew went inside to his study room where he checked his books, and tried to find out, what he did wrong with the portal. It was stable, even after he went through he could keep it open for a moment longer than last time. But it didn't brought him to the place, where he wanted to go to.
His thoughts shifted to Serenity and he realized, that he hadn't heard anything until now. No screaming, no broken glasses, that at least is something. If someone could get to her, then it would be Leta. He remembered her bruises, he would ask her after dinner if she is interested in getting them removed.

"Right." The thought of having to speak to him again wasn't pleasant, but she didn't have a choice if she was going to be living there from now on. "I'll try not to take too long." Glancing over to where Leta was pointing, she managed a nod before giving the woman a puzzled look. "I don't understand why that's good, but alright." She had just gone to turn away when she caught sight of Leta's blouse slipping, and she froze at the sight of the burn. Had Matthew done that to her, or was it an accident?

Once the door was closed she stripped down, slipping into the bath only to hiss in pain. Her feet stung from the water, and tears pricked at the corners of her eyes as she gripped the side of the tub. Taking several deep breaths to work through it, she inspected the bruises on her arms and then touched her face carefully. They were still tender, but she knew they would heal in time if left on their own.

"Dammit!" Cursing as her hands went to her face, she wiped angrily at the tears forming there. The fact that something as simple as a bath could make her start to cry was annoying, and she forced herself to get them under control to wash up. The water felt heavenly, but just as she'd said, she didn't spend more time than necessary before getting out and wrapping herself in the towel. The abrupt change in temperature made her feet sting again, although it was slightly less painful than the first time. All she had to do was get through the first day of dealing with them, and it would be easier to deal with.

Leta placed some underwear, joger pants, a shirt and a sweater on Serenitys' bed before she went out of the room. The only things' she considered while looking for some clothes were, that they cover her up and that they are comfortable. In addition she placed a pair of her own slippers on the floor, in front of her door, hoping they would fit.
She stopped in front of the door of the bathroom and knocked two times. ''Honey, I put a pair of slippers in front of the door, that leads to your room. You can use them if they fit.''

The smell of freshly- baked bread reached Matthew and his mouth immediately started to water. Hypnotized by the smell he went to the kitchen and saw Leta standing in front of the oven and Charles who took care of a soup. He lifted the top of the pot and another smell mixed with the one, that was already in the air.
''Lunch will be ready in 20 minutes, do we eat here or at the big table in the dining room?'' asked Leta while she grabbed the plates from the counter.
''We eat here, it will be just the th ... four of us so no need to show off. Here it is more cozy and I like the warmth of the oven, that still lingers here.''
''Ok, good. Charles, could you check on our guest and let her know, that lunch will be ready soon? And don't scare her, try to be kind.''
Charles grunted extra loud before he turned to Leta and gave her a slap on her ass. ''Do that one more time and you will have to face some serious consequences.''

Matthew grinned as he saw them both, Charles, who had the same height as Matthew but had muscles everywhere on his body, got intimidated by a woman that was 20 years older, had half his size and couldn't be exactly described as strong. He never understood their relationship and he gave up trying to understand it.
Charles grinned, gave her another slap on her ass. and thean leaned back, waiting for her reaction. Leta turned to him, threw her cloth around his neck, grabbed both ends and dragged him down. She gave him a kiss, released him and, with a way too stern voice, told him ''You better behave or you can sleep tonight in your own bed, understood? And now go and take care of our guest.''

Matthew knew that Charles didn't liked to get in contact with new people but he would never stand up to Leta. She was probably the only one, who could ask him for anything and he would do it.

Charles left the kitchen, went to Serenitys' room and knocked on her door.

Managing to get out a quiet, mumbled thank you, Serenity sat there for a bit longer before starting to clean up. There was no point in sitting there all day, it wasn't going to change anything. Once she was properly cleaned up and out of the bath, she found the clothes that Leta had set out and managed to struggle into them. No bra, of course, but she could hardly complain when she was at least given something. If there was anyone in this godforsaken place that seemed worth trusting, it was that woman.

Patting her hair dry the best she could, she folded the dirty clothes up neatly and then placed the towel back in the bathroom. A bed, she had a damn bed. Sitting carefully on the edge of it, she took in the texture as it dipped slightly under her weight. It seemed comfortable enough that she almost wanted to lay down right there, but the knock on the door threw that idea out the window. Shrieking in surprise, she nearly tumbled off the bed before righting herself, on her feet and to the door quickly.

Opening it slowly, she peeked out before stepping back, crossing her arms over her chest and averting her eyes. They were still slightly red from crying, and there was a scowl on her face, but she made no attempt to snap at Charles. She shuffled awkwardly between feet with a slightly pained face before speaking. "What?"

Charles waved his hands at her, then pointed his fingers to the direction where the kitchen is, turned around and gestured her to follow him. He then went on and walked to the kitchen. He was no longer wearing his jacket so Serenity could see, that there is no tattoo on his arms.

The table stood in the middle of the kitchen and on each side of the table was standing one chair. Matthew placed the dishes on the table while Leta cut the bread and finished the soup.
''I want to visit the town tomorrow with her, she needs new clothes and shoes, you can't seriously expect her to live here without of shoes.''
Matthew sighed and looked to Leta. ''I know, ok you can take her to the town tomorrow, let Charles drive you both there. By the way, were you able to make any progress with Charles? Is he considering to accept some help from me?''
Now it was Leta who sighed and her face went sad for a moment. ''You know that he likes you and living here in general. But he would never let your magic near him, you know that. I can talk as much about it with him as I want, he rather stays as he is and '' She went quiet when she heard footsteps from outside and placed the soup and the bread on the table.

Tilting her head curiously when instead of speaking, he simply pointed, and she cautiously followed after him. It seemed a bit odd that he wouldn't speak, but maybe he'd been ordered not to. He didn't appear to have the same tattoo that Leta did, though, which only confused her further. Didn't he need one, to stay there? Looking around on the way to the kitchen, she took slow steps after Charles until she finally heard other voices.

At the sight of Leta she relaxed for a moment, but instantly tensed up and froze when she spotted Matthew. Refusing to move past the doorway and enter the room, she chose to ignore the pain in her feet in favor of staying further away. She wouldn't be able to do it forever, of course, but she wasn't stupid, and knew better than to walk in without assessing the situation.

"I won't throw things at you again." Finally forcing the words out as she fidgeted with her shirt, she glanced up for a second and then away. "As long as you don't touch me, I won't throw more things at you." It was the best she could manage at that point, and her eyes flickered nervously to Leta as if asking what she should do next. "I'm sorry, I guess." It was hard to say, and her jaw tightened as she spit the words out bitterly.

''I accept your apology and have to apologise myself too. I acted like a little kid today so, sorry. I can promise you, that I will never touch you unless you ask me to. Ok?''
He took some glasses and placed one at each plate. Leta grabbed the bread and placed it beneath the soup.

''And with that cleared out, let us eat.'' Leta showed Serenity her place and gave everyone some of the soup and bread. ''I hope, that Charles hasn't scared you. He tends to have fun pranking people in this house. Well, mostly me. I told him to behave when I send him to get you.'' Leta glanced to Charles but he was focused on his soup.

''Charles, the soup is really great, you outdid yourself again.'' said Matthew with a smile and his mouth half full, which brought Leta to glare at Matthew. But this time he didn't shrinked together, he looked back to her and they seemed to talk without of words. He quickly chewed and swallowed everything before he added, ''If you want to stay on her good side, then never talk with something in your mouth.''
He smirked when he said that to Serenity and looked all the time to Leta who tried to ignore him.

"Okay." She nodded, but looked confused at his apology. Where had that come from, all of a sudden? It seemed almost impossible for it to come from the man that had been ready to throw things at her earlier, and she didn't move until Leta was leading her from the doorway. Even then she was hesitant, constantly looking around before taking her seat. "He didn't say a word to me, no." Shaking her head, she peeked at Leta before staring down at the soup.

"I'm not an animal." Frowning at Matthew before stirring the soup slowly, she finally tried it before a look of complete surprise settled on her face. "Oh. It's.. Good. Really good. I can't remember the last time I had soup." Taking another bite as she shifted uncomfortably in the seat, she braved a look at Charles and mumbled a quiet word of thanks. He still frightened her with how large he was, but so did Matthew. Leta was the only one so far who had gone out of her way to help, and she snuck occasional glances towards the other woman as she ate.

Charles heard her mumbled thank you and gave her a warm smile. The rest of the lunch went in a quiet atmosphere since everyone enjoyed the food. Leta took care the there was always bread for everyone and Charles refilled the soup on the plates until everyone was stuffed and the soup was empty. Charles caressed his belly and groaned loud and happy. ''Charles, don't you forget your manners. We have a guest at this table and you act as if you are alone here.'' said Leta with a stern voice.

Charles tensed up and looked down to the floor when Leta scold him. When he looked back up he tried his best to look as if he is afraid but his eyes betrayed him. Everyone could clearly see the joy about the situation and his love for that woman in his eyes.
''How does the saying go? If eyes could talk?'' said Matthew with a grin in Charles direction. ''Thank you two for this great lunch but may I ask you, to leave me alone wit Serenity for a moment? There is something I would like to talk about with her.''

Looking to Serenity he said, ''Don't worry, nothing bad or anything to make you uncomfortable. And I already mentioned that I am a man of my word, so I although won't touch you unless you ask me.''
Leta and Charles looked at each other and there was something between them, something pure and deep as if the connection between those two could be felt by everyone in the kitchen. It was a nice feeling, something one would want to experience for him or her self. They stood up and left the kitchen, while Leta walked by Serenitys' side, she bowed down to her ear and whispered, ''Remember what I said, he is no bad person, try to keep an open mind. I promise you, that he won't hurt you.'' She gave her a kiss on the forehead and left the kitchen together with Charles.

When they were gone, he turned his full attention to Serenity and started to talk. ''We have a couple of rules her at the house. One of them is, that we eat together each evening. The only exception would be, if someone is ill or there is a important appointment. I would be very happy if you would join the lunch every evening as well. In addition, we all do something for this lunch. Until now it was always so, that Leta and Charles prepared the lunch and I cleaned the table and the dishes after the lunch. I can't cook so this arrangment is best for us all. You although should do something for the lunch. Either you help me, after the lunch or you cook something by yourself. You can decide for yourself what you want to do. Today is your first day here, so you don't have to do anything.''

Serenity was happy to sit in near silence, unsure of what to say and not wanting to voice anything she could think of. It was much easier just to eat and do nothing else, but as everything else, that came to an end. Her lips twitched in a smile when Leta chastised Charles, barely hiding it behind her hand as she watched the two of them interact. They seemed so deeply in love it almost made her heart ache, and she had to look away after a second. Good for them.

"What? No." Her eyes went wide as the meal ended and Matthew dismissed the others, her hands reaching for Leta to try and stop the woman. "No, don't leave, please don't--" She was gone before Serenity could even finish her plea, hands falling back to her lap as she sat tensely in the chair. She refused to look at Matthew even as she politely listened, her displeasure displayed plainly on her face. Helping out with the meals was one thing, but having to sit and spend them with everyone else?

"I'll clean, then. I don't understand why I have to join the meals, or why it matters, but I'll clean up." She paused, looking conflicted for a second. "And don't worry, I wasn't rude to either of them, so you can't yell at me for that. I didn't throw anything, or yell, or anything. So you can still consider yourself a proper Master, or whatever you people say. Is that what I'm supposed to call you, if I stay here?" Like hell.

''You can call me whatever you want though I would prefer, if you would just call me Matthew or Matt. No one here calls me master. I want us all to eat together, so we spend a little time with each other. Sometimes to talk and sometimes to just enjoy the lunch, like today.''

Matthew leaned back, grabbed a piece of bread and ate a bite. ''So now you although know where the kitchen is. If you ever are hungry or thirsty, fell free to come here and take something. One last thing, then I am done and please don't think wrong of my suggestion. You probably know by now, that I am a magician. I learned to use the spell to heal. I saw your bruises and some of them look like they still hurt.''

Taking a sip from his glass he continued, ''If you allow it, then I would like to heal your bruises. They would be completely gone. I wouldn't even have to touch you but my hands would have to be close to the bruises. So, what do you say?''

"That's weird." Her tone was flat even as she nodded, looking at him in surprise at the mention of the kitchen. What was the catch? It sounded too good to be true, but there she was listening to the offer. His next offer completely took her breath away, her eyes going down to her bruised arms. She'd nearly chosen the sweater to cover them, but had decided it would be too warm and had opted for the T-shirt instead.

"Of course they hurt." So he had been looking at her arms and face before. "Do you offer this to people after you throw shit at them too, or only if they're well behaved?" She cringed, taking a deep breath and closing her eyes. "I'm sorry, that was rude. I'm not very happy you were going to hit me with something for being reasonably defensive. I'm not an animal to be beaten into submission, and I don't like that." Opening her eyes again, she gave him a somewhat irritated look.

"Fine. Don't suppose you also want to fix my feet so I can do the cleaning you bought me to do, huh? Or is that the last bit of punishment for throwing my shoes at you?" Being polite was turning out to be far more difficult than she had thought, but she was at least making the effort.

''Let me apologize once again, for the way I acted after you threw your shoes at me. Throwing your shoes away, letting you walk on the crushed stone and to threat you was not ok and nothing I am proud of. But I don't offer you the treatment because of my bad behaviour or the way you behaved. You don't see it like that but for me, this is all the family I got. Leta and Charles mean the world to me. You although became a part of this family today and we had a rough start, I know and I know although, that it was not your decision to live here. ''

Matthew leaned back and sighed heavily, he quietly said, ''just why does it have to be so difficult?'' Speaking normal again he continued, ''But despite all that, you are here right now. Of course you can go away anytime you like, I don't see you as my property and because of me, you can do whatever you want. But I although know the world around us and that it is not fair.''

He raised himself from the chair and started to clear the table. ''Sadly, there is only so much I can do about how this world functions right now but what I can do, is to take responsibility on how we live with each other in this house. You are living here now too, so I am responsible for you and your well being. Seeing those bruises and not doing something about it, though I could, that is not how I want us all here to be.''

One after another he cleaned the plates and the pot as well as all the other stuff. ''Do you have something, you want to know about us or this place?''

"Family?" Her brow creased as her confusion increased. "Almost nothing has been my decision, so no, being here wasn't either." What was so difficult? "I am your property though. There's no changing that." Watching him move around cleaning off the table, Serenity's expression was conflicted. It was going to be her job soon, as well, but she made no move to do anything. Matthew had already said she didn't need to on her first night, and the less walking she had to handle, the better.

"There are a couple of bruises on my hips, too. If you're offering." She shrugged, trying to process everything so she knew what to ask. There were so many things she could ask, she wasn't sure where to start. "This isn't a normal situation, so I don't know." Part of her wanted to ask about Leta's back, but seeing how clear the love between her, Matthew, and Charles had been, the injury clearly hadn't come from the man before her.

"Don't you ever say something about tying me to a bed again." Holding her hands together in her lap tightly, Serenity lifted her head to stare at him. There was no hesitation in her face this time, and she didn't hold back the anger in her eyes. "Ever. Other than that, I don't know what I'm supposed to ask, no. I guess what all cleaning I'm supposed to do and how much time I'll be forced to spend time with everyone."

''I won't mention something like that ever again. In exchange I would be really gratefull, if you try to give us a chance.'' He finished the cleaning and dried his hands on a nearby towel. '''Alright, that is done. Would you please follow me to my room, I can take care of your bruises there.''

He went out of the kitchen and to his room which was right next to the kitchen. In the middle of the room was a long table. The walls were full of shelfs with books. ''Please sit on the couch, I need to explain some things to you.'' He went through the room, grabbed a letter and sat down on the table. ''So, to be able to heal those bruises, I need to be able to see them. Like I said, I won't touch you but I will have to hold my hands above each of your bruises.''
He held the letter in front of him and his hand above the letter. ''Just like this. You might feel a little tingle while I heal the bruise, that is normal.''

He stood up from the table and returned the letter to his desk. ''One thing you need to remember is, once I started to work on a bruise, don't try to stop me, that could end badly for both of us. Once the magic flows, it needs to finish the process it started. So, are you ready?''

"I'll try." It was the best she could offer at the moment, but it was better than nothing. "Oh, the irony here is palpable, going to your room now." Still, the promises of her bruises fading away, of the pain being gone, was enough to drag her from the chair to follow after Matthew. Even if she did keep a good amount of distance between them. "Why is there a table in your room.. Never mind, I don't need to know." On top of there being a large table, there were so many books she couldn't begin to count. Still staring around as she nodded, Serenity managed to get to the couch without tripping over her own feet.

"Right," Her eyes went to the floor as she sighed. "I should have known that." Lifting her head to watch what he did with the letter, she nodded slowly. "No, but I don't think I'm ever going to be ready today, so you might as well just do it." Sitting up straight on the couch, she fidgeted with the bottom of her shirt before slowly lifting it. "I don't think they're that bad, honestly." Exposing her abdomen, she motioned to the dark bruises sitting on the pale skin of her hips. "You would know better than me, I guess."

He checked the bruises from a distance and was hoping, that his professional side would be visible to her, so that she knows that he is not checking her out. Well, he kind of did but only because of the bruises. Though he had to admit, that she has been gifted by nature with her body. The bruises on the other hand were really bad. To be able to walk around with them without of showing any signs of pain in her face told him a lot about, what she must have experienced in her past. Poor girl.

''The table is there, so that you can lie down on it and I can start to take care of you. '' He placed a footboard in front of the table, so that she could get easily onto the table. ''It would become uncomfortable pretty fast, if I would have to kneel down during the whole time.'' He gestured for her to move to the table.

"They don't look that bad, do they?" The way he was looking at her made her wonder, but she had always been a poor judge when it came to bruising. "At least the one on my face isn't ugly like that?" Making a weak attempt at a joke, she rubbed the back of her neck nervously. "I need to.. Get on the table?" Her hand fell from the shirt immediately, eyes moving to the long table she was supposed to just stretch out on?

"A-Alright." She didn't move for several seconds, sitting on the couch before she could brave standing up. Ironically enough it was the hardest part of her day so far, forcing herself up onto the table and tugging the shirt back up to her ribs. She'd survived being bought, threatened, forced to walk without shoes. Now she was supposed to let someone care for her? Her brain struggled to process it, gripping tightly onto the bottom of the shirt as she took a deep breath. "How--How long is this going to take?"

''I am not sure but I think that it might take up to thirty minutes and you will have to hold still during the treatment.'' Matthew looked at her and saw that she didn't trust him but let it happen. Probably because she felt, that she had no other choice. He was hoping, that the result would let her overthink the situation.

''I will start with your face and go on from there. If you ever want to stop, then please tell it to me when I have my eyes opened.''
He stretched out his hands above her face, closed his eyes and started to focus on his inner pool of magic. The magic went through his whole body until it reached his hands. It was not something, one could see but if it was visible, she would see strings leaving his right hand, caressing her skin where the bruise is and returning to his left hand.

At first she felt something tickling on her skin and a moment later, it felt as if something caressed her skin in the most gently way. It was a relaxing touch without of being touched. With each moment that passed and each bit of magic that flowed through her, the pain left her skin and the damaged skin returned to its' normal colour. From time to time Matthews' forhead wrinkled as if he was hard working. After a couple of minutes his face relaxed and the feeling of something caressing her skin started to fade.

''That was the first one, I would like to go on with the one near your ribs. It is the one I worry about the most.'' said Matthew as he opened his eyes again and looked at her for her confirmation.

"That's.. A lot of time." That was a long time to stay still, at least with someone that close to her. "Yeah, okay." Just hearing his uncertain her voice was annoyed her, and Serenity managed a stiff nod before her eyes went to the ceiling. She had nearly closed them at first and then thought better of it, wanting to see exactly what he was going to do to do. Worst case scenario she had a warning if she didn't like it, and a better view to start swinging at him.

It was fascinating, really, watching the way he positioned his hands and then began. There was nothing for her eyes to see, nothing to follow along with, just a feeling. It was comparable to a summer's breeze, a ghost of a touch across her skin as her body slowly mended. What had been a dull, throbbing pain faded away to nothing, and it wasn't until he opened his eyes that she dared touch her face. It didn't hurt, at all.

"My ribs?" Lifting her head to look down, she winced upon seeing the color that had bloomed past her hips and to her ribs. Hell, she hadn't even known there was anything that close to her ribs, and she hesitated before draping an arm over her eyes. "Okay. Just.. Be careful."

''I promise you, I will.'' After he changed his position, he once again raised his hands above the bruise and let his magic flow through her. This bruise was different, it went deeper and he even felt, that her ribs were damaged. The amount of magic that was necessary was enorm and he couldn't believe that she was able to move with this kind of wound. Or did she never lived her life without of these bruises? No that can't be. Who would do something like that?

His hands moved along her bruise and after a little while, sweat started to show on his forehead. For one, because this treatment needed more magic than expected and second, because he used an extra amount of magic so that the treatment would feel good for her. Normally a treatment this close to her heart would feel uncomfortable, since the heart was the center point of her own magic. Though it was only a little bit of it, it normally feels very uncomfortable when a foreign magic crossed her own magic. So he focused an extra amount of his own magic to suppress that feeling and instead let her feel the gently touch on her body again. Like fingertips that move up and down her body with the only intention to show her, how good a touch can feel.
In a moment, when he felt that her mind relaxed, he moved his lips and formed a couple of words that were spoken in silence. He cast an extra spell on her which could be usefull later on.

When he was finished with this bruise, he inhaled deeply and sighed, satisfied with the result of his work. The bruise was gone and her ribs were healed. He stepped back a bit, smiled and opened his eyes slowly. He grabbed a nearby towel and removed the sweat from his forehead. ''Now only the one on your hip remains. How do you feel, can we get this done too or do you need a break?''

"Mhm." Acknowledging him with a small noise, she took a slow, deep breath before trying to relax. The bath had helped a little, but everything was still incredibly stiff from the repeated abuse that caused her bruises. Daring a peek shortly after he started, she hissed in a breath at the sight of them now that she had properly bathed. They did look rather bad, and she found herself focusing on him instead of hiding her eyes. The gentle caress was back, her head sagging back against the table as her arm fell back over her eyes again. How something could feel so wonderful without actually touching her skin was astounding!

"It's almost done?" Her arm lifted as she looked sleepily at him, sitting up partway to look down. "Did I doze off? Did I fall asleep on the table?" That was either very good, or very bad. On one hand it meant whatever he was doing was helping a lot, on the other hand it meant she had let her guard down and left herself vulnerable. Very vulnerable. "Go ahead. I need to find out what I'm helping Leta with, anyway. I'm sure there are things to do." She couldn't be ungrateful, especially after being treated, so it made sense to her to finish the treatment and go straight to work.

He smiled at her but didn't told her what came to his mind. That would have to wait until he is finished. ''Alright, then on to the last part. I have to warn you though, in this area there are a lot of nerv endings. So the feeling you felt earlier might be more intense. Please be prepared for that.'' When she pulled her pants so, that he could see the bruise he started again with the procedure. This bruise was not as big as the others but as deep as the one on her ribs. Girl, what have you endured?

He put most of his remaining magic into this treatment, only to make sure that she felt good. When he was done he was exhausted, sweating and trembled a little bit. Opening his eyes he went to the couch and sat down. ''Allright, that should be it.'' Taking a couple of deep breaths before he continued, ''You won't do any work today. The bruises are removed but your body has to recover from my magic that went through your body. In addition, I think that your body probably feels different than before. So please take your time and don't rush things.''

He laid down across the couch and closed his eyes. ''Please be so kind and close the door behind you when you leave this room.'' The amount of magic that he used now took its' toll and he slept before he could hear her answer.

"Uh huh." Settling back down on the table after taking a deep breath, she tried to concentrate on anything other than the feeling. He wasn't wrong, and it wasn't long after she'd tugged her pants down slightly that it started. It wasn't that it was painful, exactly, so much as uncomfortable. It felt like hands on her abused flesh, and she closed her eyes tightly and concentrated on breathing. In. Out. In. Out.

"That's it?" Her eyes snapped open at Matthew's words, and she slowly sat up as he made his way to the couch. "They're all gone?" She didn't have time to look before he was stretched out, and a frown pulled at her lips. He didn't look very well all of a sudden. "R-Right. Thank--" Sighing as she realized he was already asleep, Serenity let her words trail off and left the room quietly.

"Leta?" Where had she and Charles gone off to? "Leta, I think he's sick or something." She wasn't very knowledgeable on how magic worked, so maybe it was normal for him to be so tired after that. There had been a lot of bruising to remove, after all, and she hitched up her shirt to look down. It was gone, all of it. "Leta, what do I do?" Was she supposed to find a blanket and toss it on him, or just let him sleep?

Leta heard Serenitys' voice calling for her and told Charles to stop. ''Wait, I think I heard something.'' Silence took over until they both heard it again, she thinks he is sick? What have they done in the last hour?

She entered the hallway from ... well, not her room, adjusted her clothes and saw Serenity standing in the hallway. Her short hair was a mess after her interrupted session with Charles but there was nothing she could do about it right now. Sooner or later she would have realized what is going on either way.

''Hey honey.'' Her warm caring voice returned, she felt that Serenity was insecure. As she came closer to her, she saw that the bruise on her face was no longer there. She had a pretty good idea about what happened and if he really did, what she thought he did, then they wouldn't see him until tomorrow. A feeling of shame came over her when she felt disappointed, that she wouldn't get punished today. But the feeling disappeared as quickly as it came.

''What do you say, we go to the kitchen, prepare ourselfes a warm chocolate and then you tell me what happened.'' She went on to the kitchen, put some milk into a pot and placed it on a flame.
