Bartender to Space Adventurer?! (w/amaya)

Renee jerked her head as she heard that Cisco had more weapons than those. "You know we aren't going to war!" she said joking and tried to act calm. As he informed her that although he had more weapons hidden around and that he would not reveal her their location. "You shouldn't. I don't want to know were your guns are." she told him as she cracked a smile "Honestly!" Renee followed him but she remained a few steps away from him. She nodded as she was also expecting the gunshots to be really loud. "Well, I do not worry so much about flinching. I more worried I will start running away," she added. Renee observed his voice increasing as he warned her that it was a weapon and not a toy. She nodded "Right! I don't think it's fun. It's a weapon and it still seems really dangerous to me." she admitted. Then she stepped closer standing next to him as he moved aside. She lifted her arms and her hands secured her ears as he lifted his hand cannon. "Saftey... Barrel down. Alright, got it" she ensured him and lift her thumb. Renee marked the way he was showing her to reload the hand cannon. Then she covered her ears stronger as he fired. The first time she flinched away from him and she looked in shock. The sound was much louder than she thought it would be. Three more shots follow with Renee stepping back with each of them. She looked at Cisco and nodded. Now was her turn. She walked closer picking up her own hand cannon and followed the same steps as him. Then she aimed at the target. Her arms were shaking a bit. She tried to breathe in and kept her balanced. And she shoot once. She flinched and her body was sending a few steps behind from the force the gun fired. She placed the safety and looked at the result.

Cisco watched as Renee walked up with her hand cannon. Holding the gun up and aimed down the range, seeing her arm shaking before pulling the trigger and firing her first bullet. Cisco had a flashback with his first weapon fire. Similar to how he reacted, stepping back, flinching. He looked down the range and see if she hit. And by Cisco's surprise, she hit the bottom left corner of the target. Which was better than his first shot, back then Cisco didn't hit the target the first time. It told Cisco that Renee had protection to be a great adventurer. But there's still a long way to go. "Still not a good shot. But you hit it, not bad for a first time. Let's see if we can improve the second shot." Cisco moved behind Renee and positioned her form. "Now hold the gun up straight, ease your shoulders, dominate foot back, take a deep breath, breath out and fire." Bang! Firing another bullet down the range. Hitting the target near the upper chest. "Good shot" said Ghost. Cisco stepped away, letting Renee room for any more shots. "It just takes practice and you'll be a pro. Hey, maybe you'll be a better shot than me... maybe" Cisco chuckled.

Renee opened her brown eyes and noted that she actually hid the target. She rubbed her eyes with her left hand (as she was holding the hand cannon on her right). She couldn’t believe that she actually hit the targets. β€œ Beginners Luck!” She uttered loudly β€œmy next will be worse.” The bartender could not foresee herself capable to fire and actually get the target. She grabbed again her hand cannon with both of her hands as Cisco located behind her. She followed his advice. She lifted the gun once more steadily this time with his help. She stepped her right foot back and fired. And again she was bewildered that she managed to hid the target. Renee nodded agreeing that she would need a lot of practice. After he moved away from her, she trained a bit longer. But she had still a long way to go. But at least she seemed now a bit more confident than before. β€œI’ll need a lot of training to manage to hit the target correctly.” She added after the last shoot was fired.

Cisco nodded in agreement when Renee mentioned she need more training. "We got plenty of time for that." Just then, Ghost light up repeatedly. "Oh I'm getting a message from... me?" Ghost said with a confused tone. Cisco looked at Ghost and checked the message from his Phone. His messages were connected to Ghost so Ghost would answer and receive any calls, emails, or messages that are for Cisco to keep better track of. Looking at his phone he sees a message that was labeled as Ghost and knew it was from the bar. Opening the message he sees that it's from Glenn, base on the grammar. "Hello friend, you better be treating Renee nicely. Or I break you haha. It joke, maybe. But anyway I would like her back soon, she is still my best bartender and.. I'd like to enjoy her company before she leaves with you and the stars. Thank you, Glenn." Cisco chuckled, reading the message and looking at the time. "Eh, we've been going on for awhile. You put together a nice hand cannon and even shot your first gun. Why don't we go back to the Ghost. I could use something to eat." Cisco started to pack up the hand cannon he brought out. Cleaning the barrel a little bit to get the gunpowder out and putting it back on the rack. Ghost was a bit confused about the name, turning to Renee and asking, "Is there another me?" Being uncommon with bar names, Ghost was curious about what this other 'Ghost' was.

While Ghost was talking to Renee, Cisco put away the gun rack and went out of the room. Going to a drawer near his computer he took out a holster. It was a simple leather holster, a bit worn but sturdy and big enough for a hand cannon. Going back to Renee and Ghost he showed the holster to Renee. "Here, you'll be needing this to carry your gun." He handed her the holster, looking back at the time again he mentioned the bar again. "We should get going, can't keep Glenn waiting. You wanna come too, Ghost?" He asked. Ghost bobbed up and down like a nod. "Yes, I would like to see this uh, 'Ghost' bar." The three got ready and went back to the bar. Walking there, Ghost floated close to Renee. It seems that the A.I. took a liking to Renee. Cisco put his hands in his pocket and recalled today, she did alright for her first time. Something about that made Cisco feel a little better of his choice and hopes that she will keep up. "You did good today, Rookie. I bet Glenn is gonna love to hear all about what you did. Hey, it'll be your first 'story'." He said with a slight chuckle.

Renee paused and tilted her head in a confused cute way after Ghost showed up announcing them that he had a message from themselves. "Wait? You messaged yourself?" she asked the small A.I. astonished. She noticed Cisco reading the message. She was not sure what the message was about, but soon she connected the dots and realized it was from the bar. After hearing Cisco complaining about the time, she recalled she should be back helping Glenn. "The time passed so fast, I never noticed. We have to go back, Glenn and Vats would still need some help," she said. Renee smiled at Ghost's reaction that there was another Ghost he didn't know about. "Well, didn't Cisco ever talked about Ghost the bar to you. It's a bar not far from here. The favorite place of adventurers. They show up to have a drink or a male and narrate their stories. There is even a large wall with trophies. It's really amazing." Renee was informing Ghost with all the details as Cisco was putting away his gun.
Renee watched Cisco returning with a holster on his hands. She stopped talking about the bar and gazed at it. She took the holster and secured the gun inside. Then she grabbed her bag and hid the gun. "Thank you." She didn't want to wear it on her when she was working at Ghost. It would feel a bit odd. And still, bring a Gun in her old workplace and showing it off seemed a bit much. She agreed with Cisco that it was time to return to Ghost. The small A.I. followed them. Renee seemed to like the A.I. as well. He was a real help to her today. She was thanking him, as she heard Cisco talk. Renee looked a bit shy. She always liked to hear other adventurers to say their stories. But she never considered the opportunity that she would one day tell her own. She seemed though happy that Cisco commends were positive. "I'll brief Glenn in. But we don't want to talk about that too much. He already has to deal with my departure. I wouldn't want to remind him that." Renee said as he followed both at Ghost.
"Now, Ghost this is home!" she suddenly said to the A.I as they reached outside Ghost. The bar was slowly getting busy like every night. She pushed through the crowd and made room for Cisco and Ghost to follow. When inside "Take a seat. I will have Vats prepare you something to eat." she informed him. Then she turned to Ghost "You can follow me and see the wall with the trophies." Renee walked first into the kitchen as she yelled loudly "I'm back. Vats make Cisco's favorite. It's on me." Then she hurried behind the bar counter. She placed her bag under the counter. She waved at Glenn notifying him that she was back. Next, she made Cisco's favorite drink and served it. After that things got busy. She was pulled back into the bar. She started making drinks. As more adventures showed up.

Ghost recalled Cisco mentioning a bar with trophies and stories told throughout the bar. "Yes he did, but he didn't mention the name before. I imagine it's a great place for it to be where my name came from." Ghost followed Renee and Cisco to the bar, looking at the sign outside Ghost floated up to it and did some scanning. Cisco notice and reminded him, "Hey, remember don't scan people. Other stuff is fine, you got that?" Ghost floated back down and bobbed his body, nodding. "Yes I know. Um.. you said that stories are shared here. Have you shared any with me?" Cisco looked at Ghost and smirk, "I've told a couple about a somewhat helpful A.I. Never a name though, can't give every detail. Plus this give a chance to introduce yourself if anyone ask. Just remember not to go too far from either me, Rookie, or the employees of the bar." Cisco was sorta like a parent to Ghost, telling him not to stray too far and looking after him.

Heading in the bar, it was just about to get busy. Especially now since Cisco walked in. Cisco went to his usual spot at the bar while Renee called out to Glenn and Vats that she's back. Ghost followed Renee into the kitchen and saw Glenn and Vats and hid behind her. "Oh my, a Cabal and F-Fallen? A-are they friendly?" Asked Ghost. For what knowledge Ghost had about the two species were information he gathered in his past and Cisco's adventures. Here they were like any other race. Living life and going through each day, but Ghost database told him about how Cabal is a race of soldiers and war. Fallen being scavengers who rip machines up for parts and steal anything that isn't nailed to the ground. Glenn saw Renee and opened his arms for a hug. "Ah, there she is. Our best bartender and beginning adventurer haha." Giving her a hug, Glenn notice the floating A.I. hiding behind her. "Oh, and who's this little one?" Glenn gave a smile as he put Renee down, looking at Ghost. The smile was something Ghost hasn't seen from a Cabal and that made him relax a bit. "I'm Ghost, Cisco's A.I. companion. I believe he named me after this establishment. Are you the owner?" He asked. Glenn looked at Ghost and laughed. "Hohoha. So Ghost huh, It's a pleasure to meet you. Any friend of Cisco is friend of mine. Come come, you must curious about this place." Vats clicked at Glenn to get his attention. Cooking up the meal Renee asked for Cisco as well as other customer's meals. "Tour laterrrr. Orderss noww." He said, looking at Ghost, Vats waved hello and continued to cook again. "Ah right, customers. We will give tour later. For now, be with Renee behind the bar. And if you think you can help then heheh help as much as you want little Ghost." Ghost had a little spin, excited to learn more about this place soon. For now he followed Renee around and helped out by remembering orders and repeating them to Renee and Vats.

Cisco was talking to other adventurers, denying any trade offers and mentioning tomorrow morning would be best for them. Others asked about more stories and he would try and reply with any new ones he hasn't told. He notice Ghost following around and chuckled seeing the small A.I. follow like a little pet. The bar got busy for the dinner rush and slowly was dying down after the happy hour. Cisco enjoyed his meal and was just having drinks with adventurers. Talking about the floating A.I. that has been getting people's attention. "So, where exactly did you get that little machine? Never seen anything like it, I need to get me a pair." Said one adventurer. Cisco took swig as he recalled about a year ago. Setting the drink down he looked at Ghost and then at the adventurers waiting to know. "Well, don't know if you can find something similar. But I was over at Io about a year ago. On the off side of that moon there were these structures in the middle of a massive crater, I was told to explore and make sure it was safe for scientist to research freely on with little security. Now that place was strange, apparently there were these weird splashes of interstellar space void stuff. Looked like someone dropped a bucket of that black glowing stuff around the place. Wasn't harmful to stepped on but my vision got weird so I avoided those. Going in deeper and deeper, it felt like something was here. Something alive but all around me. This put me on edge but nothing ever came out. It wasn't until I small glow coming from inside a room. Peaking in I saw that little guy just resting against what seemed like a control deck. Walking closer I notice a very old skeleton in the chair next to the controls. Seems like his time was up but this machine was just in sleep mode. There was nothing else there so I picked the little guy up and went back to my ship. Tried to wake up up by doing a little jump start, hooking him up to my ship and adding a little shock. This seemed to do it but a bit too much. Bright light pulsed from the machine. And next thing I knew, he was floating and looking at me before scanning me and scanning my ship. Didn't know what it was doing until it actually spoke, saying hi and all that. Apparently it was an A.I. from the golden age, being able to learn over time and assist me. So, not telling the vanguard about this, I kept the little guy." Cisco told the story of how he met Ghost, remembering some good times with him as well. Ghost listened in and remembered about that time, but he didn't remember much about what happened to him before he woke up. That data was corrupted and a mess, couldn't be read for now. But Ghost didn't mind, even though Cisco can be annoying he still got him out of that place and met new friends along the way.

Renee laughed lightly at Ghost's answer "Maybe he wanted to see your reaction, Ghost. You know your confusion was priceless." Renee teased the small A.I. "Yup you can only scan the trophies, me and Glenn, will be alright I think. But don't try scan Vats he will kill us." Renee smirked. They soon stepped into the kitchen. The kitchen was Vats working place. He usually was not fond of people stepping in without a reason. Even if it was Renee. Though she wanted to personally give the order for Cisco's meal. She was really grateful to him. He had not only accepted her to his ship and be part of his crew. He allowed her to become an adventurer and he was aiding her. For that, she was really thankful to him. Renee laughed at Ghost reaction. "Those are Glenn and Vats. They are friendly. But they do bite from time to time." she tried to scare Ghost. Renee smiled as she noted Glenn open his arms widely. It meant one of his strong hugs would follow. She felt her feet floating over the floor as Glenn hugged her. "I'm the best bartender," she agreed "But I wouldn't say that I am an adventurer yet!" She stepped against the ground as Glenn released her from the hug. After Glenn and Vats found out who the little A.I. was, Renee returned to her post. Since Cisco was around it meant that they would have more people showing up. It was a busy day, but with Ghost around the orders were faster to remember and the drinks were served sooner.
The night passed like that. Renee was really busy and didn't have the time to listen to Cisco's story this time. Ghost was most of the time cycling around her making her smile. The bar got even busier. Renee had to fill the counter twice from the storage unit. She thought she would miss the busy days around Ghost. It was not only because it felt like home. But here Renee knew exactly what to do. She felt confident. And it was clear by her actions. She knew what she had to do. She had years of experience. After a while, the crowd started returning to the port. Only a few adventurers remained listening still to Cisco's stories. Renee was cleaning the bar. She seemed a bit tired the long day. Her belly was making hungry noises, that she ignored. She was slowly preparing the bar for the next day. She seemed sad as she slowly acknowledged that in a few days she would not be working there any longer. She would not see Gleen or Vats.

As the day was coming to a close, the bar losing it's last bit of customers for the night, Renee and Glenn finishing cleaning up as Ghost floated about towards Cisco. "Hey there, how was work?" He said with a small chuckle. "It was fun, I can understand why working here would be fun." Said Ghost. Cisco gave a small laugh, taping Ghost on the head and giving him a small pet. "Heh, maybe you'll open your own bar." Cisco joked. Ghost paused and started running a small simulation in his database. "It would be very tough, I envy Glenn for running this one so well. By the way Glenn." Ghost floats towards the large Cabal. "Why did you name this bar Ghost?" Glenn was picking up the last dishes from the tables as Ghost approached him with that questions. "Ahh, it was a the name of my fleet. Back when I was a high ranking soldier. My fleet were like family to me, so I named my bar after them." Glenn pointed at an old photo by the bar, showing a large fleet of cabal soldier. All different shapes and sizes and you can tell who was higher ranking. In the middle was a very large cabal soldier holding a large heavy machine gun with flags on the sides of his shoulders. That was Glenn. "You were a Valus!?" Asked Ghost. Glenn laughed, "Haa Haa, so you know your Cabal military ranks huh my little friend? Yes, I was Valus Glenn. Commander of the Ghost fleet." Glenn was proud of his title and the power he had. "But I retired long ago, did some adventuring after meeting Vats. And later found this bar. The rest is history. Good history heheh." Glenn put away the dishes while Ghost scanned the photo for his database.

Cisco was watching as the bar got cleaned up and finished for the night, Glenn sat down on a chair while Vats squatted on a stool around the bar. Vats was eyeing Ghost, fascinated by the small machine. Ghost tried to ignore the four eyes staring at him. Cisco turned to Renee, "There are a couple of things to do before setting off. So we will be here for another two days. Tomorrow when you have time off of work, I'll be showing you a different weapon type. Don't worry I won't have you build this one this time. But I won't tell you want weapon you'll be using until tomorrow. After tomorrow, the last day will be getting you certified by the Vanguard that you'll be an adventurer under my wing." The Vanguard were the one's in charge of the official bounties that are posted by rich people, government officials, and military personnel. Being an adventurer and doing common bounties by other people is one thing, doing Vanguard bounties are more serious. Bounties include exploring newly discovered planets and ruins or structures, escorting high valued people and/or materials, and hunting very dangerous criminals or monsters.

It was a long night for everyone, and now with all the customers gone the managed to clean up the bar and slowly have it ready for tomorrow to open up again. Renee observed how the small A.I. unit was talking with Cisco. Those two seemed like close friends. She cracked a small sad smile. As she looked at Glenn and Vats. Her close friends that she'll not see for a long time. Soon, she listened again to Glenn's old story of being a cabal soldier. She had heard the story so many times in the past. She never thought that there would come a day she would miss hearing it. Renee was busy all day long she had almost forgotten that in a few days she would be part of Cisco's crew. She turned around and gazed at Glenn and Vats sadly. Renee walked away from the bar and took a seat next to Glenn and Cisco. She was spacing out in old memories when Cisco turned and talked to her.
It took the bartender a few seconds to connect back with the reality as she heard Cisco speaking. "Two more days?" she repeated looking at Glenn. She was hoping she would have more days to spend around the bar and with her old friends. But it seemed that wished failed. She shook her head trying to forget the negative thoughts. Now she needed to focus on what Cisco told her. When Cisco told her he would show her again a new weapon. Her face revealed all the frustration as she thought she would have to build one more weapon. But thankfully, he informed her that would not be the case. Renee managed to relax at that point. "Right, the certified by the Vanguard. I forgot that. And I have to arrange the last details. Packing and empty the flat. Even get the right attire. I cannot show up wearing this." she pointed at her casual clothes. There was a specific shop in the market that had such suits. She had seen a suit years ago and if she had the money back then she would have bought it. She noted before work tomorrow to take a look and find out if it was still available. "Aw Glenn, do you have some free space in the old storage. I am not keeping my apartment and I thought I could keep my belongings there?" she asked him. Over the years the Bar has been redecorated. The new storage unit was directly connected with the bar. The old one was a few yards away. They hardly ever used it anymore. Glenn and Vats had their personal belongings there now.

Cisco took a look at what Renee had when she mentioned needing a new look for the Vanguard. He chuckled at the thought of looking fancy for the Vanguard. "Sure, if you want to look professional but it isn't such a big deal. But having a suit will help in the future so do what ya do." He said casually. Glenn listened to Cisco and Renee talk, hearing about how much time she has to spend here was heavy for Glenn. But he was still proud to see her follow a dream of hers for a long time. Vats looked to be taking Renee's soon to be departure well on the outside but that is how he is. Not much of a talker but his clicking was a bit lower toned with some grumbles and grows. He would miss her but won't admit it. Glenn looked at Renee when she called to him about keeping her belongings in the old storage unit along with Vats and Glenn's stuff. Glenn smiled, "But of course. We'll watch over your items in there. It will be kept safe until you return." He said. Cisco thought to himself that it was a god idea, mostly because it saved him from clearing room in storage at the ship. "Yeah, you can bring what ever you need along with you. I'm sure I got enough space." Cisco said, he had a spare room that he almost never used in the ship. Since he doesn't really trust a lot of people, no one really stayed in the ship for more than a day. Looking at the time Cisco got up from the stool, "Well, I'm gonna head back to the ship. We'll do the same time tomorrow. Since it's just firing practice, take your time getting over there. I'm sure I'll be busy trading for awhile." With that said, Cisco headed out of the bar. Ghost floated behind him but turned around. "Aw, thank you for letting me scan and help out." He said. Glenn smiled, "Anytime, my little friend." Vats was still eyeing Ghost as he floated out of the bar. Still making Ghost nervous but not concerned about him. The A.I. left the bar along with Cisco.

As the two were going back, Ghost had a thought about those three at the bar. "Um, don't you think having her leave will be hard on them? She seems like family." Cisco kept his eyes ahead of him as he listened to Ghost. Thinking about what he said for a moment before answering, "It's her choice, they should be fine with work. But yeah, emotionally, it'll be tough for those two and the Rookie." He turned his gaze to the night sky, remembering a time many years ago when he was going off on his own for the first time. "It was tough on them too when it was my time, and it was just as tough on me as well. But look at us now, we are still family. Being home sick and missing each other proves it." Ghost was a bit taken back at the response. Not knowing Cisco had a soft side to his sarcastic and casual nature that he knew him for. "Yeah, you're right." Ghost said. The two got back to the ship and rested for the next day.

Renee nodded understanding what Cisco meant. She rested her arm against the chair as she spoke with him. "Well. I will get some more clothes. But I would want to have something to wear for the Vanguard. I'll go tomorrow and see what I can get." She was sniffing from time to time as she looked at Gleen and Vats. She hoped those two would be alright. She worried about both. They have worked so many years together in Ghost and both helped her to grow to the woman she was now. Even Vats who would most of the time drag her out of his kitchen. Renee knew how much he cared. "I'll make sure, to move anything that I don't need with me to the storage. Thank you, Glenn," she said. the bartender stood up and walk over to Glenn and gave him a hug. She heard then Cisco allowing her to take everything she would need with her. She straightened her body structure and looked at him "Thank you. I'll only take with me what's essential. The rest I'll save in the storage. I might bring some of my stuff with me tomorrow." she informed him. She watched as Cisco and Ghost took their leave. "Thank you for today," she said to both of them waving as they left.
Back in the bar, Renee told Glenn and Vats that she was head as well back home. She said goodnight to them and hugged them. She walked back home thinking about all the exciting time she had today. Her day seemed so much different from her daily routine. She reached home and took a shower and made something to eat. She found her old Cardboard boxes she had from the last time she moved. She gathered them and started slowly gathering all those things she would not need to take with her. Old books and pictures. Clothes, towels, and stuff she kept with her but never used. She didn't own any furniture it was all rented with the apartment. It took her a few long hours to gather everything. But by midnight everything was ready. She had placed the boxes outside and had informed a moving company to take it to Ghost. "Glenn I managed to pack everything and the moving company might bring the boxes tomorrow morning by. I might not be there yet. So make sure they moved it in the old storage room. Thank you again and good night." she informed Glenn. The rest of her belongings she had not yet figure out what she would take with her and what would be thrown away. That would be a task she would do tomorrow.

Sun came up from the horizon as a new day started in Peterton. The port was already busy with the normal everyday workers. They've already adjusted to the amount of adventurers gathering near the usual place where Cisco parked his ship. Opening the hatch, ready to do some last day trading and selling. He had Ghost with him, keeping track of the amount of adventurers were trading and offering. Some even offered to buy Ghost but Cisco would turn them down instantly. Slowly going through the trades and deals, payments and supplies, busy morning for Cisco. Time would pass as Cisco continued his trading. There was an adventurer who was giving him a hard time because of the unfair deals the adventurer was offering. Cisco kept turning him down on deals about the ship, Ghost, weapons, treasures, anything that the adventurer had an eye for. It has been like this since he first came back into town. It was almost getting to a point where it was getting tense. "Look! I'm making a deal you'll regret! I don't care who you are, everything has a price. Now give me a deal or else." The adventurer looked to have some expensive looking gear, but Cisco knew in his eyes that he was just a rich and greedy adventurer. Nothing would annoy Cisco more than someone who puts a bad name on adventurers. "And I told you It's not for sale. And you best be going if you know what's good for you. And fella, you trying to threaten me won't be in your favor." Cisco said with a cold glare. Ghost was hiding behind Cisco as he was arguing with the stubborn adventurer. The adventurer was furious but noticing the place he was in and the amount of people who would stand up to Cisco were calling him out. "Yeah, take a hike. You're holding up the line. Get lost. Just give it up already." Adventurers were getting upset at the rich adventurer. Gritting his teeth he scoffed and walked away. "You'll regret this!" He called out. The crowd booed at him as he left. Cisco sighed and shook his head. "So annoying, guy won't take a hint." Cisco shrugged and continued the rest of his trading.

Back at the bar, it was a Sunday morning. The bar was slow but that worked in the bar's favor since Glenn was helping move some of Renee's boxes of stuff. Vats was still cooking any orders that came in, but would help with a box or two when he had time. Vats had speed but not much strength, moving small boxes to the storage was quick but he could only move a couple boxes at a time. Glenn, on the other hand, was very strong and had many boxes balanced on top of each other as he moved them to the storage. Placing the boxes in the private storage he had with Vats, now Renee's stuff as well. He took a moment to look at some items that he and Vats have. Weapons from his past, trophies that were too big for the bar or office, couple of common stuff he kept over the years. Smiling at the memories he had through many years. Now that Renee was going, Glenn was sad, but that wouldn't stop him from supporting her decision. He pondered a bit and took out an old box. Vats walked in with a small box and was about to hurry back but notice Glenn looking at a box. "Memories, yesss. Many times we had." Vats said as he looked at Glenn. Glenn pulled something out of the box. Looking at his friend Vats, "Maybe, we can give her something we don't use anymore. Could help her out." Vats clicked and had a small growl. He was very much a hoarder, most of the stuff were his. Giving away wasn't what he does a whole lot, but he soon agreed with Glenn. Vats crawled across his stuff and pulled out a small object and put it away for when it was time to give it to Renee as a surprise. Glenn did the same. Finishing up the moving and talking a bit about the past. They continued handling the with Renee as some customers were coming in for lunch time.

There she sat. Renee sat in a small corner and darkness was surrounding her. She was drinking in the bittersweet taste of being alone in her room. She was alone a lot as a matter of fact. But she never felt alone when she was working at Ghost. She was not sure if she would feel the same loneliness as an adventurer or if she would build strong friendships as she did with Glenn and Vats. The bartender had already bundled up her belongings that she would take with her. She took all her underwear and tops. A small variety of pants and shirts. One pair of leather boots and her leather jacket. A few old books and pictures she took with Glenn and Vats. She had gathered them into a metallic container. She didn't arrange yet to take it to Cisco's ship. Because she wanted to buy a few more details. And maybe the suit she had seen years ago. Cisco told her yesterday she would not need one but she always thought to have one as an adventurer. She checked her balance. All those years she had safe a few credits. But she was not sure if those were enough to get all the things in her list. Her pale, freckled skin clashed with the clean pair of pants and shirt she wore today. It was rather a nice looking outfit. She gathered her bag and stepped out of her apartment locking the door behind her.
She collected herself and walked the rest of the way to the market. She walked into the shop at the beginning of the market. The old lady that owned the place had the quality and variety of outfits. Renee would visit her shop many times when she was younger. She would aid her to clean it and the old lady would allow her to try outfits and space suits. These days she was no longer helping her since her daughter was back. "Renee dear, is that you?" the old lady asked as she fixed her glasses and took a better look at her. The bartender smiled and nodded "Yes, Hana. It's been a while!" The old lady stood up from her seat and gave her a hug. "What brings you here child?" she asked with all the care in the world. "Hana, remember that suit I was upset with. I was thinking to buy it. Do you have it still?" Renee asked her showing excited. "Why would you want to buy the old thing? No, its have been sold a few years ago." She answered tapping her shoulders. "I was given the opportunity to become an adventurer, Hana!" Renee explained "And I hoped I could get the suit. But maybe you have something else. Similar to the old one?" she asked her and turned looking around the shop. "Child you always wanted to be one. Take care of yourself. Yes, there is one of my best works." Hana told her and pressed a switch. A dresser opened and span around revealing one of the newest suits. It was made mostly from leather the color was black with a hoodie. Renee smiled "This is better than the old one." How much does it cost?" Hana sighed and looked at her. "This is really expensive dear. A rich adventurer had ordered it for his wife. But he was so rude I never sold it to him. I don't think you can afford it." Hana showed her the price and Renee almost jumped. "That's a lot!" Hana nodded. Renee didn't buy the suit even if she liked it that much and headed to Ghost. She normally started her shift like it was a usual day. She would later visit Cisco as he told her.

The bar was normal today. A few customers and a bit of a lunch rush, Glenn got orders in as usual and Vats was cooking the food. Renee taking drink orders as well through the morning. After 12 past and the lunch rush was over quickly, Glenn notice the time. "Renee, if you have to meet up with Cisco then it's alright. We should be good for awhile. Just be back before closing." Glenn gave her a hug and Vats clicked good bye to her as she went over to the port. There it was normal as well. Ships coming in and leaving, mechanics working on ships. There was a small crowed over where Cisco was, it looked to be finishing up the trading. Cisco and Ghost were trading and getting credit for the stuff they have brought. After the moment, Cisco put his hands up at the crowed. "Alright, that's all I can offer. Thanks for you business and have safe travels in the stars." The crowed then dispersed and went to their own adventures again. Cisco started to clean up until Ghost got his attention before floating over to Renee. "Hello, how have you been? How was the bar doing?" He asked. Cisco looked at where Ghost went and saw Renee. Waving her over he called, "Hey Rookie. Just finished my trading, come on in and I'll prepare the range." Cisco then went into the ship to get the range up and running.

Cisco went into the range and brought up the control panel to the ship. On the menu that said 'Firing Range' he pressed a button labeled 'Heavy Mode'. This changed the range to be more resistant to what was about to come. A blue shield was right in front of Cisco and the targets were on the other side. He then waited on Renee and Ghost to show up, calibrating anything that needed it.

It was a normal day around Ghost. There were only a few adventurers having a meal and a few more just a drink talking. Renee was cleaning the counter. Lost in her thoughts she had cleaned the same spot over ten times. She stopped when Glenn called her and told her that she could leave. She looked at the time and then again at Glenn. "You are right, I should be going. Thank you. Yes, of course, I'll be back before closing." she answered. She hugged Glenn and waved at Vats a fast goodbye. Then she ran down the main street towards the port. When she arrived she noted that Cisco and Ghost were still trading with other adventurers. She stopped and caught her breath. The crowd was slowly leaving when she approached them both. She suddenly was surprised by Ghost. "Hey there. I am very well, Ghost. How are you?" she wanted to know "The bar is fine. It's a slow day! We missed you already." She waved at Cisco as she saw him behind Ghost and nodded "Yes, we are following!" she uttered loudly and gestured Ghost to follow. "Let's go! We don't want to be late!" she whispered at Ghost and smiled.
Renee stepped into the ship as the small A.I. unit was following her. She was not sure what weapon would Cisco show her today. As she stepped closer she noted him hold the control panel and pressing some buttons. She was not sure what was happening. She could see the blue shield slowly forming as she showed up. "Should we be scared? Why do we need a shield?" she asked seriously "What is the gun that you will show me?"

Ghost was happy to see Renee. He bopped his body like a nod. "I'm doing well. I missed helping you and the other two." He said as they walked into the ship. Floating next to Renee, they got to the firing range and saw the shield. "Well, I got the shield up so you wouldn't be scared. Heh. But it's not a gun but a heavy gun." He said as he walked to the opposite side where the wall of weapons were. Hitting a button and doing a scan security check, a large slide door opened revealing three large looking weapons. One was a Rocket Launcher, long and thin with a orange cylinder at the back with the company that it was from. The second weapon was a Grenade Launcher, dark bronze color with some little spikes at the tip. And the last one was a Heavy Machine gun, slick design with a dark blue coating as well as a red dot sight. "Choose your pick. When adventuring through wild planets, there will be times when a hand cannon isn't enough. Now, this is just a suggestion to use one. Not all adventurers use these, but it's good to know how to use at least one. The shield is a one way, we're on the side that can fire through it bu not on the other side. Great for cover." Cisco stepped aside to let Renee take a look at them. Ghost hovered over Cisco and spoke to him. "Is it such a good idea to start this now?" He asked. Cisco shrugged, "She doesn't have to learn it now but it's an option. Being a good adventurer means to adapt and use what you have. I all you have is a rocket or a knife, rocket is the best choice for a beast." Ghost sighed and floated towards Renee. "Um.. do you have any questions about these weapons? Are you alright using one?" He asked, a concerned tone in his voice.

Renee tried to remain calm but it was noticeable that she was scared. Yesterday was the first time she had touched a gun in her life. And in compare with the weapons Cisco showed her now it seemed so small. She closed her eyes and took deep breath. When she opened them the first gun she saw was the Rocket Launcher. Renee tilted her head if she would manage to even lift such a heavy gun. She sighed and looked at the second gun, the Grenada Launcher. She found it a bit smaller to use. The last one was a Heavy Machine Gun. That seemed large and huge. But she seemed to like the gun. Renee cast a glance at Cisco β€œAre you serious? I cannot will such weapons. Those seem too heavy and large.” She outlined. But it seemed that he was not joking. As long Ghost talked to Cisco she was looking st the guns confused. Her fingers touched the metallic surface of the Heavy Machine gun. She noted Ghost floating over as she was still thinking which gun to use. β€œI don’t think I have an option, I have to choose one.” She said to Ghost. β€œI like this one.” She admitted pointing at the Machine gun. β€œBut I am not sure I could willed it.” She added as she slowly picked it up. It was really heavy. Her muscles tensed as she lifted it close to her. Her moves were slow but it looked as if she would manage to hold it. Until she placed it over her arm β€œIs this part suppose to be ..” she started asking a question at Ghost. Suddenly She lost her balance and the heavy gun pulled her down causing her to crush on her back while holding still the gun. β€œOuch!” She shouted and then a strong smushing sound followed. Renee ended dropped down on the ground looking hilarious and embarrassed.

Cisco watched as she looked at each of the weapons on the rack. Wondering which one she would pick he started to realize that these would probably be too heavy for her. When Cisco saw her start to pick up the heavy machine gun, his eye brow raised to the choice. A powerful weapon but very heavy one at that, even Cisco has some trouble doing full auto on that thing. Wondering how this would go down he watched and to his surprised she picked it up and held it... for about a few seconds before losing her balance and crashing it on the ground. Cisco covered his mouth and turned away, he was trying not to laugh but how she looked on the ground was some of the funniest things he seen in awhile. Audible snickering and wheezing could be heard from Cisco. Ghost, on the other hand, was not. "Oh, my goodness!" Ghost said as he floated down quickly and tried helping her move the machine gun out of the way with all his might but to no luck. Hearing Cisco laughing and not helping made Ghost furious and flew at his head. "Ow. What was that-" He was cut off by an upset Ghost. "Help. Her. Now!" Cisco was taken back a bit, seeing Ghost visible shake in the air out of anger. "Okay, okay, easy. You're gonna blow a bulb." Cisco said as he rushed over. Picking up the gun and setting it on the table and then reaching his hand out to Renee. "You okay, Rookie?" He asked. Even though Cisco thought is was hilarious, Ghost being that upset made him concerned about her. "Hey, you're pretty strong to lift that gun up. Powerful and a nice choice but maybe not as a beginner. Maybe something lighter like the grenade or rocket launcher?" Ghost was scanning Renee for any injuries that she might have gotten from the fall.

Renee felt the cold ground against her back as she fell down. She was still holding the weapon against her. She remained there frozen for a second. She wasn’t hurt or anything. Only her pride was. Ghost’s worriedly stated caused her to get back to reality. She tried to forget how embarrassing this situation was. Though she could not lift the gun at all. She sighed and shook her head, she heard Cisco’s laughter and Ghosts being upset about it. That made her face blush feeling more embarrassed. Suddenly she felt the weight of the weapon off her, as she rose her head and watched Cisco lifting it off her. She could move again. She accepted his hand and stood up. While Ghost was scanning her she replied β€œI am not hurt. Well, only my pride.” She admitted And shook her head laughing a bit at the scene. β€œI’ll try the Grenade. It’s not that heavy.” She added. And this time she went over and picked up the Grenade launcher. It was heavy as well but she could place it over her arm without losing her balance. β€œI think this one is a better choice.” She said trying to ignore how embarrassed she still was.

Ghost gave a sigh of relief when Renee was alright. Cisco chuckled when she mentioned her pride was hurt. "Yeah... happens heheh." He chuckled. Cisco placed the machine gun back on the rack as Renee grabbed the grenade launcher. Ghost was informing her the uses of the grenade launcher, telling the process of handling one from what knowledge he had through scanning and witnessing. Cisco grabbed a single explosive 37 mm for the grenade launcher. It was about the size of a small glass with a red line across it separating the shell and the actual grenade itself. "Similar to your hand cannon, you pop out the cylinder and put on of these in there. Remember grenade launchers aren't like bullets. They have enough force to launch it but it will lose velocity quickly. You won't have to here but out on the field, aiming higher will make it go farther." Cisco placed the single grenade on the table in front of Renee. Ghost looked at the ammo and then Renee. "This will have a fair amount of recoil but not as much for the size of it. But still be careful, make sure you have your legs apart for balance." Cisco was leaning against the wall, watching Ghost explain some last minute tips.

Rene had grabbed the grenade launcher and was observing it in detail. She heard Cisco and Ghost giving her the basic information on how it should be used. She watched as he placed a single 37mm explosive against the table. She slowly did what she was told. She pushed on the cylinder until it popped opened and she placed the grenade in there. At first, it didn't fit as she had to find the right angle and pressed it inside. She softly closed the cylinder. That part seemed easy. And Renee managed to have the grenade launcher ready to fire. She tried to balanced her body with the Ghost helped and placed the grenade launcher against her shoulder. She aimed a bit higher, recalling that aiming higher could add more speed to the grenade. Then she focused aiming at the target and waited for the signal. When she was told she could fire, she pressed the trigger. The grenade fired from the launcher and upon the air almost hitting the target. Though the force of the grenade being fired sent Renee a few steps away. She lost her balance and ended up against the wall behind her. But at least this time she didn't fall down. "Can I tried it again?" she asked as she was not pleased with the result. "What did I do wrong?" she added confused. "This isn't as heavy as the Machine Gun. But it still needs strong arms and shoulders to handle it. Also, my balance is way off." she noted on her own.

The grenade was fired but didn't hit the target, it would still explode after a couple seconds since firing it would make it live. The shield suppressing the sound but also stopping some debris from being tossed over. Cisco looked at Renee as she was pushed back but raised an eye brow when she asked to go again. He smirked and went over to grab a purple box that was underneath the heavy weapons. Putting it on the table and opening it showing more 37mm ammo. "Sure, but this time visualize the angle where the grenade is going. Like throwing a rock, aim to where it'll hit. Once you get a feel for the angle, it'll be easier. As for your balance, be sure to brace for impact and bend your legs a bit too." He added. Having said that he stood back and watched how she'll do.

Renee watched as the grenade fired away but never hit the target. It only managed to touch the greatest extent of the target. She shook her head not satisfied with the outcome. She looked back at Cisco and tilted her head as she noticed him bring over a purple box. She pulled away from the wall holding the Grenade launcher with her and walked over the table. She listened at his advice and nodded. She placed one more grenade inside the launcher. At first glance, it may seem like a useless perk, but it synergies exceptionally well with the gun’s intended style. She tried now to imagine the target clearly, her focus was only on the target. She tried to bend to the right angle and turned her knees in the right position. (At least as right a newbie could stand.) She sent off the grenade imaging that she stunned her opponent. The grenade reached a bit closer to the target but didn't touch it. She lost her balanced but this time she was not dragged back as before. Though she didn't stop. Renee seemed drawn into the practice. She grabbed another grenade and fired again. She tried to keep her distance as she held the trigger and release it to detonate. She found pulling the trigger on the launcher and timing the explosion on the target so extremely satisfying. After that, she tried again and again until she managed to hit the target a few inches away.

Ghost watched as Renee kept picking up ammo and launching more. He was happy to see that she continued practicing, showing her interest to do better. While Ghost was watching, Cisco was at the table to the side, tuning and taking apart some weapons here and there. Cleaning anything he missed while Renee practice. Looking over he notice getting a bit more accurate with the launcher and nodded to himself. Thinking how she's getting comfortable with a heavy weapon. He would've had her use a smaller weapon but not as small as the hand cannon or side arm. He doesn't have every weapon type in the range, this is just a practice range for when he found stuff out in the field. There was a different, much bigger range that had some of his own personal weapons. Cisco placed the weapons back and continued watching. After a few rounds, and a bit of ammo later she managed to hit the target. "There ya go, seems like you're getting the hang of it. Well, at least with that thing." He said. Cisco looked at the ammo and notice it was running low. Heavy ammo isn't cheap and the amount that was used would be worth a few credit. "Let's call it for the Heavy stuff now. You can try different weapon or..." He paused and thought of something. Looking at Renee and scanning her physical stature and wondered something. "How good are you in a fight?" Ghost looked at Cisco at the question he asked. Not liking where this was going.

Renee kept launching one grenade after the other. She was so much focused she didn't think that the ammo she was using was actually very expensive. She stopped and place the launcher against the table as she heard Cisco praising her. She cracked a smile feeling a bit proud now. "I think I understand how it works. Surely, I still have a long way to go, but at least I caught the basics," she said gazing at Cisco and Ghost. Renee grasped her shoulder and rubbed it a bit as it was feeling a bit sore. Cisco's suggestion to stop the training with Heavy guns found no complaint from the Bartender. "Eh? Fighting? Like a hand to hand fight?" she asked him and started laughing thinking he was joking. Although Renee's wish to become an adventurer she never went through any training. "I fought only once in my life, maybe twice. When I was a toddler," she said pulling away from the table "Why?" she quizzed concerned gazing at Cisco.
