Love of the Desert [[ShadyxHoudini]]

Tahirah's breathing finally seemed to return to normal, slowing down as she relaxed. A smile spread across her face as he finally leaned against her, his words making the moment better as well. "I'd love to lay here with you a little longer," she smiled. They both knew that she couldn't stay long - they had probably already spent a little more time together than they should have, but it would taste a lie to say that she hadn't wanted it, or regretted it. As his nose traced over her soft, tan skin her mind drifted over the thoughts of what had just happened. They had shared something intimate and wonderful, she couldn't help but wonder if they'd ever get another chance.

"
So this party tomorrow..." she breathed, almost unable to believe that it was actually so soon. The sun would rise and they would have to orchestrate her going with him, then her dressing up... So many plans had to come together. "Still nervous?" she said, laughing a little. After the nerves they had just shared, what could get worse? But she knew it could, and her own heart beat pattered a little with her thoughts. "Hamadi," she whispered, lifting his head to her face to look into her eyes. Her hand slipped down his cheek softly and she smiled, not sure what else she was going to say. Instead Tahirah leaned forward and kissed him, not wanting to waste their precious time together on worries.

Hamadi almost stopped breathing for a moment when she mentioned the party. He was thinking of that beforehand, but it had completely washed out of his mind now. Was it really worth it, he wondered, to take such a risk just for the thrill of it? It had seemed like such a good idea when he planned it, but now... he just wasn't sure. "Oh...well, of course not, Princess," he finally answered with a reassuring grin, taking her cheeks between both his hands. "Not after we have.. all this for you," he observed, moving his hand down to her chest, and picking up the necklace from between her two tan breasts rubbing it between his fingers. He leaned over and kissed her cheek in silence, trying to convince himself that everything would be fine and they'd have nights like this all the time from now on. But something just kept worrying him, as much as he tried to force himself to believe it would all be wonderful.

He didn't want to talk about it any more either, and forced the thought out of his mind, sharing a few more kisses in bed as they lay next to each other peacefully. Eventually, he knew that it was getting well past when she should have left, as much as he didn't want her to. "I suppose the terrible time has come where we go our ways," he said just over a whisper, rubbing his fingers across her scalp delicately. "Or, at least, you go yours," he teased with a grin. "I... I can leave while you get dressed if you want," he offered, realizing right away that she probably wouldn't care after what they'd just done anyway.

Her skin still tingled at every touch of his fingers along her skin, even after the sensation she'd just had. She smiled as she watched his fingers, deciding to keep her mouth shut for now. As they were both thinking, there was no reason to worry now - they were set in what they were doing and whatever was going to happen was already in place by the Gods... Right? Tahirah shook her head slightly and smirked before dipping her hand down to run her fingers over his hand, pouting when he mentioned her having to leave. She knew it was coming but that didn't mean she would have to like it.

"
I think you can watch," she whispered quietly, leaning up to his ear to kiss him gently a few times, lingering for another moment. She wrenched herself away shortly there after and slipped off the bed. Not long after the white sheet he'd thrown over her body in embarrassment fluttered away as she moved to gather the fabric of her kalasiris. She was naked, slim and not really flustered by his eyes following her. She leaned over the bed and kissed him gently after she'd slipped on the fabric, covered herself and the mess he'd made on her up. "I'll see you tomorrow, when the sun rises," she smiled, nuzzling her nose against his cheek. "Good night, sweet Prince..." she breathed into his ear, pulling away and head back out the smaller door she'd entered through earlier in the day.

Hamadi let his face linger around hers for as long as possible, kissing her cheek in return while she kissed him. He, too, wished they could lay there for the rest of the night. He'd give up his sleep for it if he had to. Laughing as she told him he could watch, he helped her take the sheet off, revealing both of their satisfied bodies to the moonlight. His eyes, of course, couldn't help but follow her a little as she dressed, although he tried not to ogle too much. She was like one of the gods, he thought as she covered up her slender form.

"I can't wait until then," he said under this breath as they prepared to part. "I'd give up sleep entirely if it only meant staying together for the night. But that could present some problems," he observed, reiterating what they both knew. "Goodnight," he finally repeated, feeling the slight warmth of her last touch. Falling back into the sheets, he pulled the soft cloth over him and closed his eyes, unable to fathom what had just taken place. His head and body were still swimming as he drifted off slowly to sleep, Tahirah dancing through his dream as he waited for morning.

Morning didn't seem to come swiftly enough, then again, it never did. But the night tonight especially seemed to drag on and on, even as she made her way soundlessly back to her quarters. She had to excuse herself around the corner and into the 'compound' but the guard was either too sleepy to press further or just accepted her excuse of the Prince needing her for something. She wanted another night like this one, wanted to feel their bodies together, to discover more of whatever it was they had just done. Tahirah wanted to feel that ecstasy again, but mostly wanted to see that look on his face again, it just made everything better.

Tahirah woke up early the next morning to start her daily chores. She was clearly groggy and even vaguely sore, but once she realized why, it was all she could do to stifle a giggle. Smirking to herself then she shook her head and realized what the day would bring - it was time for the ball. She just had to wonder if they were going to get away with it, if she would still be here tomorrow evening. Her mind raced all morning as she straightened and folded sheets until it was finally time to bring Hamadi his breakfast, just like every morning. Tahirah wanted to just burst into the room, to go running and jumping into his bed, to comfort the feelings she knew he must be having about the night. Still, that was hours away and, for now, they each had a role to play in their real lives.

Hamadi woke up well before it was time for Tahirah to arrive with his breakfast. His first thought after he stretched his tired muscles was how tired she must be. After all, she had to sneak back to her quarters, and probably got to bed later than he had. And she had to rise far earlier, in time to dress and fetch his meal. Well, their meal, to be honest, as it had become the last couple of weeks. But something innate in his body made him wake at least an hour before he had to. It was the feeling that something was missing, which was Tahirah, of course. He’d loved her long before the last night, but after connecting in such an intimate way, he felt like they should always be one. Every moment apart simply didn’t feel right. He simply couldn’t shake the amazing feeling of the two of them… together. Himself inside of her. It had simply been perfect.

He bathed and dressed early, doing whatever he could to pass the time until his love was to show up. As he made a little loop around his room afterward tidying up some assorted items, his mind started to drift towards what the night would bring. He didn’t doubt it would be exciting, thrilling, and something that he never dreamed the two of them would be able to do together. But it was also perilous. Could this be their last day together? He couldn’t dare to imagine that might be true, but he was determined to live the day as if it was, doing his best not to think about that ominous prospect at all. So by the time he heard a knock at the door, he was fully ready to greet his beloved Tahirah, eagerly calling her in.

After working for hours, she wasn't as sore or tired as she had been when she woke up - but that could also be partially due to the fact that she was now standing in front of Hamadi's door, waiting to be let in. Her mind was somewhere else, in a different place, at a different time. When the doors finally swung open, it was all she could do not to go running to him. Instead she scooted toward him on her feet quickly, probably more quickly than she should have. Even still, she knew he wouldn't mind. By the time she got to the foot of his bed with the tray of food, the door had been closed and she managed a sigh of relief in his presence. "Good morning," she whispered, sliding the tray onto the nearby bedside table before falling into his lap while he sat on the edge of the bed.

"
I've missed you, even in the few hours we've found ourselves apart..." she said quietly, kissing up his arm before she lifted herself from his lap. Slowly she slid herself onto the bed next to him, taking a deep breath as she folded her hands quietly in her own lap, looking up at him. "How was your night? ... Your sleep?" she questioned, using one of her hands to pull a few strands of her hair from her eyes, tucking them neatly behind her ear.

Hamadi eagerly accepted her onto his lap, squeezing at her delightful hips and kissing her neck when she settled in. "I doubt as much as I've missed you," he retorted playfully. He let his body fall back with hers, landing softly in the comfortable sheets were they'd made love only a few hours prior. The mere thought of that still brought a big grin to his mouth as they came to share the same bed again, even if it was only momentary, this time. "I slept well enough," he told her with a chuckle. "After all, you did wear me out a bit," he admitted, reaching up and stroking her soft cheek. He blushed a little bit before admitting the next part. After all, it was still somewhat unusual for him to admit living and dying on the every breath of a servant girl. "But I was up early... I couldn't wait to see you," he finally told her with a little chuckle.

Rolling over and propping himself up on his elbow, he tried to avoid bringing up the night's plans. "So, did you bring me anything worthwhile to eat?" Hamadi joked, reaching up and tracing his fingers along her shoulder and the flesh of her upper arm.

The whole time Tahirah smiled at him, unable to stop herself when she was around him. "I wore you out, hmm? I think the feeling was mutual," she grinned at him, leaning over to give him a kiss. She could feel the thought of the events to come that night hanging over their heads as they lay together in peace, trying to make conversation. "That seems to be a pattern, Hamadi," she grinned, leaning over to the tray of food she'd brought when he mentioned something to eat. Carefully she picked up a few grapes as well as a square of fresh cheese, a thin cracker, and a pickle all stacked together. "Here, hopefully this is to your liking..." she smiled, bringing the cracker and toppings to his lips.

Tahirah reveled in the minutes they had together alone. She loved being together with him when it was just the two of them and they could be themselves. "
And some grapes... They're my favorite," she smiled as she held the perfectly round, red, sweet grape up to his lips, her fingertips just barely brushing him. Tahirah wanted to climb on him, not just lay beside him, but she thought that they didn't have enough time for those sorts of games. She still had morning chores to finish and he had some preparation left before the party that night - including arranging to have Tahirah 'escorting' him to wait on him.

Just then Tahirah heard another knock at the door and the voice of the guards as they called out who it was. "
Prince Hamadi... The Pharaoh wishes to have a word with you," and, within seconds, the sound of the door opening was heard. Tahirah's eyes went wide and she froze for a second before snapping out of it. Quickly she scrambled to the floor, off of his bed and attempted to stand somewhere where she would be out of the way, perhaps not even noticed. She had to catch her breath of course, from being caught so much by surprise. Still, her breath was caught in her chest as the Pharaoh entered the room, her head bowed down low even as she tried to disparately cling to the face of Hamadi, hoping to the Gods they wouldn't be caught, or that nothing was wrong.

(( As far as this was concerned, I was thinking he'd just come in to talk to him about his lessons or something... Maybe something silly, either making a comment to/about her, or ignoring her completely, sending her away... I was sort of using it just as something to spice up the scene. You can make it something serious if you want, that's up to you. ^^ ))

Hamadi grinned broadly as she fed him her little unique creation, parting his lips and accepting the delicious morsel, followed by the sweet grapes. "Mmm," he smiled, kissing her lips and rubbing noses with her once he finished chewing the grapes. "You really know how to take care of me, Tahirah," he gushed. Lying in bed with Tahirah was about the most perfect thing he could possibly imagine. Except maybe for lounging around all day together, which unfortunately wasn't a possibility. It quickly became even less of a possibility as his father's presence was announced. He was immensely fortunate that a fair warning was given; he didn't want to think about what could have happened otherwise.

"Ah, Father," Hamadi greeting his dad, trying to act cool, although his heart was pounding. Standing up from the bed, he gave his father a somewhat mechanical embrace. Glancing at Tahirah, it was evident that she was quickly reduced to little more than decoration. "Good morning, Hamadi," his father boomed, giving Tahirah a glare until she got the hint to wait outside. It wouldn't be proper for the Prince to receive any counsel in front of a mere slave. "I wouldn't mind having her serve me breakfast, either," the Pharaoh joked once Tahirah was gone, prodding Hamadi's side with a sly smile. It was the first time his father had made a comment like that to him, and it only made him more nervous. He couldn't think of anything to say in return, and ended up just nodding.

"I just wanted to see how you are, son," the Pharaoh said once they were alone, placing his hand on Hamadi's shoulder. "Oh, why thank you father," Hamadi grinned back. "I'm barely awake, just finishing my breakfast," Hamadi explained, pulling up a chair for his father to sit in as Hamadi settled back onto his bed. "I've heard from some of your instructors that you've seemed a bit distracted lately. Nothing bad, or specific," his father explained. "But I simply wanted to see if everything was well. And if there's anything I can do for you," he went on to offer. Hamadi thought about this for a moment. He didn't want to say it was nothing, and have his father continue to be suspicious. "No, I don't know if there's anything you can do," Hamadi finally answered. "But you're right, there is something. I think that I've just began to doubt that I can really be a powerful Pharaoh one day," he confessed. "When I was young, it was all fun and games. But now that I appreciate all that it takes, I'm a little.... doubtful," he went on. "Even if the Gods have selected me." His father nodded and took this in. "Why don't you spend a day with me next week?" his father suggested. "The entire day. And then you'll see that it's not as bad as you think." Hamadi nodded in agreement and made the plans with his father, before they parted ways, the Pharaoh slipping out and strolling right past Tahirah as she waited outside the door, giving her a little bit of a half-leer on the way out.

((Sorry, you threw me a curveball, and I needed some time to think about this one. It was a good idea, though! =D))

(( Hehe, hope you didn't mind! I wanted to see where it'd go and just sorta change things up a bit. ))

Tahirah held her breath the entire time the Pharaoh was in front of her, even as she was forced by his stare to exit the room promptly after he'd entered. Instead of inside next to Hamadi where she wanted to be, she stood out in the hallway, pacing a little before standing still at the sound of the doors opening back up. The look the Pharaoh gave her made her eyebrows furrow slightly after he'd passed, but she tried to think nothing of it. Once he was out of sight, she finally breathed again. With that out of the way, she figured it was safe to go back into his quarters. She made her way slowly back to the door before slipping inside, smiling when she saw him still sitting on his bed, almost where she'd left him before.

"
Well... That was close," she said, carefully moving up and around the bed, evaluating the look on his face, hoping whatever the Pharaoh had to say hadn't been too grave. She eyed the food still left on his tray, but didn't dare take a bite for herself. Instead she reached forward for a rice cracker and a slice of sweet fruit for him, holding it toward him. "Eat, Hamadi," she smiled softly, leaning forward to kiss him on the cheek. "I hope your father only brought you good news?" she finally asked, the question pressing on her mind since she'd entered. What if his father suspected? What if plans changed, there was no party, or if he thought that she needed to be replaced? Silly, she knew, but the possibilities were there. Tahirah shook herself out of it and tried to be realistic, straightening the hem of her kalarsiris.

Hamadi pressed his lips together a little nervously while his father left, and a short while later, Tahirah tentatively slipped back in his room. He felt far more comfortable with his brown-skinned ‘princess’ than his own father, that was for sure. He kept quiet, a half-frown on his face while she came in and spoke, putting on a less severe expression when she fed him a sweet morsel, delicately biting it out of her thin fingers. He flashed a small smile, and placed his arm around her hip, gently tugging her down onto his lap on the bed. “Not really bad news,” he said softly, kissing the back of her neck, intertwining both hands with hers. “But not necessarily good news either,” he explained. “I don’t think he suspects anything. But he’s noticed that I’ve been acting differently,” Hamadi expressed to her. “And I know why. I bet you know why. But he doesn’t know why,” he explained, ticking her a little on the hips.

“So here’s what you’re going to do,” Hamadi told her. “You’re going to forget all about this. You’ll leave it to me to stop letting things affect my behavior, and everything will be fine. You can go about your duties today, and look forward to being my beautiful company to the party this evening,” he went on, suddenly more confident than ever. He eyed up the tray of delicious breakfast items, neither of them touching it. “Eat, silly,” he encouraged her, plucking up a cucumber slice and sliding it up to her mouth, chucking lightly. He could tell she was worried, and didn’t want to burden Tahirah with having to ponder these weighty matters that he was involved in. That just wasn’t right to her.

Tahirah couldn't help but smile when he tugged her into his lap. She glanced at him with a smile and nodded when he spoke about the things his father had come to talk to him about. Her skin quivered at the light touch of his lips to the back of her neck and his fingers gently grazing over her hips, teasing her slightly. When he explained what was going to happen, she smiled and nodded her head happily, trying to be as confident in him as he was in himself. She opened her mouth to bite the slice of cucumber, crunching it in her teeth quietly and then swallowing it before leaning her head against his chest. She wished things were easier for them, that things were different - but at the same time, she liked who they were and, as long as they got away with it, there wasn't any harm in it, right?

"
So... I will do my chores for the day and you'll go about your lessons before the party, right?" she asked, lifting her head up to look at him. Her fingers played with a necklace that hung down against his flesh, playing with the small charm on it. "When should I... Come to find you?" she asked, reaching for the tray to get a small vine of round, red, seedless grapes. She took one off and popped it carefully in her mouth before offering him one as well.
