Love of the Desert [[ShadyxHoudini]]

"It still reminds me of you regardless," she countered before he pressed his lips against hers again. Her eyes closed slowly as she tried to take it in, shivering at the feeling of his hand moving gently up her leg, his fingertips dancing around her kalarsiris and more importantly, near her thigh. She kissed him shortly but gently a few times, her own hand cradling his cheek for a while before she pulled back slightly. "You speak to me as if you see the Gods through my eyes," she whispered quietly, her lips barely moved from his. She breathed deeply and kissed him again, softly, nuzzling her nose gently against his own.

Her eyes closed and her hand moved down to his shoulder, the gently around to his back where she absently traced circles on his shoulder blade. "
No one has ever spoken to me... Quite like that. Nor looked at me like you do," she said, finally opening her eyes to look at him. Her own were almost sad because, behind all of this, she knew it couldn't last. To entertain the idea was absurd, really, but she had to - what pleasure this brought her now was worth the pain she'd find later in his absence. "I appreciate every smile, every twitch, every glance," she said and finally smiled, her thumb gently moving over his bottom lip as she spoke, letting it run gently over the smooth skin before her hand dropped to the small space between them, her trying to pretend as if she wouldn't have to leave soon, just out of prudence.

"I think I do detect a connection with the Gods in your wonderful, deep eyes," he answered, keeping the gaze they shared locked on her. He took her kiss on the lips as a signal that she didn't oppose the bold location of his hand. He closed his eyes for only a moment, loving the feel of her nose, as he moved his hand around, softly rubbing her smooth skin around her knee. He let out a quite "aah" as she rubbed around his shoulders.

"I can't imagine ever being apart from you, Tahirah. I know the odds are seemingly against us, but I want things to always be like this," he said wistfully. He knew that shortly, the guards would wonder what might be taking so long to prepare for his cousin's feast. He pulled away a little, not even slightly because he wanted to, but because he knew that it would be extremely perilous to continue much further here and now. Were they found in a compromising position, it could mean disaster, especially for Tahirah. He placed both palms on her cheeks and came in for one more kiss, opening a little and allowing her wonderful lips inside his mouth for a moment. "I will count down the hours until I can see you in the morning, my Princess," he whispered. "We have a lot of planning to do tomorrow," he thought out loud.

(( I'm sorry for the absurdly long time it took me to post this. Things got crazy this past week (finals are this coming week - eek!) and I just didn't have the time/motivation, as I told you... I'm really sorry! Hopefully you can understand. =) ))

Her sadness was evident - she didn't even try to hide it this time. She sighed softly but nodded her head enough entertain the idea that she had understood his reasoning. They couldn't lay like this for much longer. Soon someone would wonder and there were eyes just about everywhere - they still had to be very careful about how they acted. Her nose nuzzled softly against his one last time before he pulled away from her, sighing quietly as he spoke those beautiful words to her. "
As will I," she purred back, kissing him softly before she wrenched herself away, sliding off the side of the bed, landing with a dull thud on her feet next to it.

"
We certainly do have a lot of planning to do... I can't wait," she smiled at him softly, reaching out just enough to touch his arm. She pouted for a just a second before her face returned to that soft smile and she turned around to leave. Tahirah made her way toward the small exit door just to the side of the main doors to his chamber. "In the morning, Prince," she said with a quiet wink, shivering lightly at the memory of his hand so gently on her thigh - she swore she could still feel the warmth. Even still she continued on and moved down the hall, passed the guards who watched her walk away. Once she turned the corner, out of sight, she slumped gently against the wall with a heavy sigh. Even if his words were ultimately hopeful, they both knew that the road of them was going to be tough... And there was no way around it.

((That's fine. Understand completely =) Wouldn't want you to post, in fact, unless you were in the right frame of mind xD))

He enjoyed the nuzzle of her nose, which would be the last touch of her skin against his until morning. "Good night," he sighed as she stood up and headed towards the door. As he lay in bed there after she had gone, he imagined if only she were still next to him there in the soft sheets. How he would love to cuddle up with her and drift off to sleep together, waking up with his arms wrapped snugly around her body. But then his mind turned to the plans for two nights from now. Tomorrow, he had to sneak her an outfit, including nice shoes, and makeup to wear. He had to make sure she had an excuse for not being around the slave's quarters. And he had to pull off showing up with some mysterious noble girl who nobody had heard of. Not to mention the threat of someone recognizing her. It was enough to make his head spin. But he hoped it would be worth it. If he could give her only a taste for one night of what it was like to be a royal, it would be worth it to him.

He stood up and went to the window, knowing the route Tahirah would take back to her place. He watched her pretty figure in the distance wistfully, longing to be out there with her, if she couldn't be here with him. But that couldn't be helped. He went to bed a little early after reading some, imagining that maybe it would speed the sunrise along a little quicker, which, in turn, meant the next visit from Tahirah.

(( Alright! So, yesterday was a long day of driving and packing and whatnot, and today was full of family stuff, so that's why I couldn't be around. Hopefully things will settle down now that I'm at home and I can start posting regularly! Sorry about the low quality of this post, still trying to get back into everything... ))

Tahirah of course had no idea that he would be watching her - she wasn't even conscious of the fact that he could see her route through her window. Instead she took her slow pace outside and glanced up at the stars, breathing in deeply the cooling night air of the desert. Eventually she made it back to her quarters - apparently the smirk on her face raises some suspicions. She was asked what was wrong with her and she just shook her head, saying she had received a compliment on her ability to follow directions from the Prince. The guard eyed her a little more before allowing her into the building where she slipped back into her room.

The other girls in the room weren't immune to the gossip-like tendencies and tried to pry her for more information, not buying that she'd been out helping the Prince so late. Finally she convinced them that they needed to sleep so they could get up in mere hours to do their chores. She managed to bypass those two situations - but could she really fool an entire room of nobles? Would her mere presence with the next Pharaoh of Egypt be enough to quell any questions about her origins and her sudden appearance, not to mention the disappearance that would be happening not long after the party ended. Her nerves tingled and she shivered before rolling over in the bed. Soon enough the sun would rise over the pyramids and she would be up and about the castle, bringing him his breakfast like was now normal. Tahirah was nervous and yet excited to see what Hamadi had gotten or was planning on - the party was not long away, only a few days.

Hamadi got out of bed early, which was unusual for him, he usually waited until one of the guards alerted him to the time, and sometimes didn't even rise until after breakfast was served. He couldn't ask anyone to wake him early, of course, considering what he had planned, so he hoped that he would naturally wake early enough. He must have willed it to happen strongly enough, because he got up with the first rays of sun over the pyramids, and forced himself out of bed. Leaving his room after only briefly getting himself together, he told a guard that he wanted to go for a walk. He had concealed a small satchel under the folds of his upper garment.

He wouldn't be questioned anywhere he went, of course, but if he had been discovered in one of his sister's wardrobe rooms, he wouldn't have really had a good explanation, so he acted quickly, ducking in once he saw no one was around, and skimming quickly through what was there. He finally selected a red sheath dress with a short-sleeved top, and a gathered neck. To go with it, he selected a matching pleated cape, and a long sash that could be tied around the waist. His eyes darting around, he also grabbed some little balls of incense, and a container of cleansing cream. Of course, jewels were not kept unattended in the wardrobe, so he tossed what he had in his sack, and heart pounding, peeked his head out of the doorway, then zipped out, back to his room. Concealing the bag under his sheets, he waited what seemed like forever until the familiar knock came at the door. "Send her in," he called out with a tiny smile.

Of course it wasn't forever, and maybe just a few minutes to ten or so, before the knock came in and Tahirah stood waiting for them to open the door. She heard his familiar, slightly muffled voice tell them to let her in before she actually walked in, moving toward the left side of his bed, just like every day. The doors closed heavily behind her and she exhaled in relief, glancing around to make sure there wasn't actually anyone else in the room. "Your breakfast, Prince," she smiled and put it down on his small nightstand, grinning up at him and how he was sitting, waiting for her arrival. She allowed herself a larger smile as she dared to lean up closer to his face. "And a special wake-up call this morning as well, she whispered before pressing her lips to his, closing her eyes. She managed to hold on to it before pulling away with a smile, nuzzling his nose just a bit before taking a small step back.

It was thrilling, in a way, to be so forward with the Prince. Still, she lifted up onto the balls of her feet for a second before rocking back on her heels, clasping her hands together behind her body so she didn't run up and jump him on the bed or something. That thought gave Tahirah a twitch of a grin on the corner of her lips before her emerald green eyes raised to his face. "
Aren't you going to eat?" she asked, tilting her head. "You seem a little... Jittery," she mentioned. Tahirah knew that the plans for the party would be coming to a bit of head today, but she didn't realize he'd already gotten the things from his sister.

Hamadi eagerly followed Tahirah in with his eyes, kissing her back with all he had, as she gave him his 'wake up call.' He had been nervously waiting for his pretty little breakfast server, but now that she was here, face to face with him, he was even more nervous. What if she didn't like what he'd brought? How about if she got freaked out by the thought of everything now? "I've been dying to see you," he whispered, a little sadness in his eyes, as he reached behind her and stroked his fingers through her black hair. "I got some of the things for tomorrow," he said in even a lower whisper, although even if he'd spoke aloud, no one would have heard them.

He reached under his sheets, pulling out the sack, and removing the red dress and accessories, laying them out on the bed. "I found you some cosmetics as well," he said, unable to resist smiling now. He picked up the dress and held it in front of her. "I think you'll be the perfect noble," he assured her, "even a princess." He leaned over, the dress still between them, and kissed her on the side of her mouth.

She giggled a little and nodded her head, tilting it curiously when he started to pull things out form under his blankets and sheets. Her eyes went a bit wide with surprise as she looked over the dress - she wanted to reach out and touch it, but she was afraid to eve move near it. Snapped back to reality a bit when he spoke to her about being a Princess, she shook her head and stared at him for a second. "Hamadi, I..." Tahirah started, taking a deep breath. Everything that she had ever been taught, everything that had ever been literally beaten into her was screaming at her not to touch the dress, the cosmetics - those things belonged to Hamadi's sister. A Princess of Egypt. It all came crashing down on her how many rules she was really breaking and evading - taking clothes from a noble, impersonating a Princess, and kissing the Prince. Mentally she counted lashes for a minute before she coughed and really looked at Hamadi's expression.

It was so excited with just a little tension - it was clear that he wanted her to be excited. If she was going to do this, she might as well go all for it - she couldn't back out on him now. "
It's... Beautiful," she managed, smiling softly and nervously taking a step closer to the edge of the bed. When he held the dress up to her thin frame she froze and then looked down, the sight almost making her shiver. That simple kiss on her mouth, however, was all that was necessary to bring her back to his world. She sighed contentedly and smiled at him. "You really think we can do this, Hamadi? I'm... I'm a little scared," Tahirah said and then laughed - saying 'a little' may have been an understatement.

Hamadi was glad she said she liked it, although it was obvious she was concerned about the wisdom of their plan. Although he was quite scared himself, he was the one who'd suggested it, and he thought he'd do better to reassure than to question things. "Don't worry, Tahirah," he told her, pulling away from their kiss, and placing a hand lightly on her shoulder. "We'll pull it off. You certainly have the beauty of a princess. Even more so if you ask me. So you only need to be confident."

He leaned back into the bed, pulling Tahirah back into his lap as he fell backwards. He cuddled her body, nuzzling his nose into the back of her neck, and giving her a couple of kisses there. He was happy to be there with her, and wanted to just enjoy the moment. Taking a deep breath, he leaned into her ear. "Let's have some breakfast, princess. You did bring enough for the both of us to have one of our little 'picnics', didn't you?" he asked with a smile. Reaching over, he picked up a piece of bread, dipping it in jam, and reached it around to Tahirah's mouth, prodding her to take a bite.

She held her breathe even as he complimented her, even as he insisted they'd be able to do this. All she could do was hope now - just that look in his eye, she couldn't bare to tell him she didn't think they would make it. She couldn't tell him no, to ruin the plan after he'd really already put it in motion. Finally breathing out when he pulled her onto the bed, she laughed a little and shuddered from the light touch of his lips to the back of her neck. Instinctively Tahirah's body leaned back against his, smiling as he talked about breakfast. "I s'pose that I have time for a few bites," she smiled and glanced down, watching as he brought he bread to her mouth. She opened, showing her white teeth before she took a bite, chewing and savoring the sweetness of the jam. Breakfast made her wonder what food would be like at the party - certainly things she'd never had before, especially for such an event. And she wouldn't be serving it this time, she'd be able to eat it.

Tahirah reached out and pulled off a few of the red, plump grapes that were on the tray. She reached back, turning and tilting her head some to look back at him as she offered them to Hamadi. "
Who am I going to pretend to be?" she questioned licking her lip after swallowing the grape. "I mean, we have to have some sort of story... And I have to have a name..." she more or less thought out loud, running through lists of names in her head. "Hasina, Layla... And why I came with you... Unless I'm magic, appearing out of nowhere," she grinned, wiggling her fingers before touching his nose with her own. "Maybe I'm just visiting, or passing through... Or a distant cousin or something..." she said, taking his free hand with her own and lacing their fingers together. She stared at them while she thought, biting her lip gently.

Hamadi furrowed his brow in thought as she spoke, intertwining his fingers with hers and squeezing lightly. He picked up a small chunk of cheese and a bean cake with the other hand, taking a couple bites before setting the other half of it down. She made a good point, after all; she couldn't appear out of nowhere. His family had far reaching influence, and could easily find out if something wasn't right. But when she'd said 'Layla', it gave him an idea. "I thought of something, Tahirah," he said, wiping his mouth clean with a linen. "I have a very distant cousin named 'Layla'. Her father is a government official in Thebes. No one in my family has seen her for ten years."

The wheels in his mind kept spinning as he took a couple of grapes himself, playfully feeding on to Tahirah. He reached over and caressed her thigh gently as he thought. "So, we could say that you're her. Or she's you, however you'd like to word it. I don't think that my family will send anyone 300 miles each way to Thebes just to verify the story." He was suddenly hopeful that maybe, just maybe, the plan might actually work. He reached up and traced his fingers through her hair again and again. "And I've run across you, and discovered who you are." He looked eagerly at her eyes, anxious to see if his idea allayed her anxiety a bit. "We just need a reason, my dear, why you've come to town."

Seeing his eyes brighten when she said the name Layla, her head tilted slightly so she could try to see him better. She listened carefully to his idea, nibbling on the grape he had fed her before she swallowed it back and smiled - for now, she thought this might actually work. "I... Wow, Hamadi..." she said and grinned, rolling one of the plump grapes between her fingers. She glanced down at their skin and just raised a brow slightly, thinking for a moment about why she would be in town. "Maybe, uhm... Hmm, no," she started and shook her head, feeding him a small piece of cheese. "[/color]Well... I could be visiting because my parents were curious about what was happening here. Or..." she said and bit her lip, trying to think. It was hard coming up with a plan and a reason that wouldn't' get them scrutinized to the high heavens.

"
Well, maybe I'm here to... I don't know. It could be as simple as 'I've missed you and wanted to see how everyone was doing'," she said and turned her body more fully to look at him. Tahirah shivered lightly at the hand on her thigh - the tingling sensation was new and it made her smile, little goosebumps forming on her skin. "Or... Maybe my father asked me to tour the empire, to visit different cousins in different places. Maybe my father wanted me to learn more about my country..." she offered, resting one of her hands on his thigh. Her face neared his and she smirked a bit, realizing something. Not that they would in public anyways, but they would not be able to be affectionate in front of the nobles to begin with, especially not as cousins, however. With that in mind she leaned forward enough to press her lips to his, pulling away a moment later. "I'm going to miss doing that all night," she whispered.

Her soft, tanned hand came up to stroke his lighter face, smiling at him. "
I also need an escape for the night from my duties," she reminded him, nodding her head lightly.

Hamadi began to get more excited as she spoke, nodding at many of her ideas. He kissed her lips back eagerly. "I'll miss it all night, too. But being there.. with you, will be enough of a reward for me to make up for it." He drank some cool water, not in the mood for anything sweet at the moment, licking his lips dry after swallowing it down. "This is wonderful, Tahirah. It's an idea that we've come up with together," he smiled, squeezing her little brown hand. "I think we should say what you suggested. That your father has sent you out to learn about the empire."

He pulled back from her, his hand rubbing his chin, trying to think about the rest of the logistics needed to pull this off. His eyes darted longingly over Tahirah's petite frame. Although he was in more of a positive mindset now, part of him couldn't help but still dwell on the negative. And that part of him longed for Tahirah, in a way that, no matter what happened, they couldn't say that some expressions of their love were left undone. He wondered if the desire to express his love for her physically was a selfish desire on his part. After all, she was the one in grave danger here. "Yes, an excuse for you," he began slowly, reaching over and massaging her hand. "That shouldn't be the most difficult part. I can request your services any time I like. But the reason..." he trailed off, looking her in the eyes. "I suppose I'll just tell the headmaster that I need to bring you to the feast with me. Which is true. But I'll tell him that I need you to assist with bringing the gifts to my cousin which are customary to give. And that I'll have you wait outside the whole night to help with the gifts he'll likely give in return."

He leaned in and nuzzled her nose reassuringly. All seemed to be falling well enough in place. "I suppose that leaves getting your some fine jewels to wear. That won't be easy. But leave it to me, my love," he smiled at her, before kissing her soft, moist lips a little more firmly, parting them a little bit to allow his tongue to wander just inside.

((There is still one night before the feast, right? I think that's what we said, but I wasn't sure if you were planning on it being this night?))

(( Yep, I think so. We can definitely move it up if you'd like, but I was under the impression there was at least one more night left. ))

Tahirah grinned at him, indeed loving that this was a combined effort - if nothing else, it was something of theirs, something they had shared and spent time on. She watched his hands move, shivering softly as his soft fingertips moved over her skin. If she had to tell the truth, she would say she was thinking about it too. She tried not to let it permeate her thoughts too much, though - such inappropriate thoughts to be having about the Prince. She sighed quietly and nodded to his reasoning. "
Sounds like a good reason to me... He wouldn't dare challenge you anyways, you know that. He's more or less afraid of you," she smirked a bit and nodded her head to him, sipping at the glass of water when he was done with it, parching her dry throat as well.

"
It seems like everything is going so well," she said, almost surprised. After all, she couldn't help but be sceptical about what they were doing - already she was waist-deep into relations with the future Pharaoh, stealing clothes and parading around as a noble would only raise that bar. But what did she have to lose, aside from him? The thought made her smile, but she was quickly pulled from that day dream by his lips. She smiled into the kiss a bit and raised her hand gently toward his face, cupping his tanned cheek gently in her hand. stroking around the corner of his mouth with her thumb as he parted their lips.

Cautiously she allowed him to, letting his tongue flash over her lips and just touch her tongue. The sensation of something vaguely more intimate made her shiver in his arms but she couldn't help but smile. Her dark brown eyes were closed as she enjoyed his company, allowing herself to suck gently on his bottom lip before she pulled away enough for a quick breath.

((Nah, when we originally had it is good.))

Hamadi nodded in agreement at her idea, a little more confident that he had been up until now about their plan. Closing his own eyes as they kissed, Hamadi brought Tahirah back in gently with his hand placed on the back of her head. Allowing his tongue to wander into her mouth, he thought to himself that he loved the taste of his gorgeous 'princess'.

Plucking up the last athree grapes, he popped them one at a time into his mouth. "Hope you didn't want those, princess," he said playfully to Tahirah, reaching out and touching her nose with his index finger. "Unfortunately, I have full routine of activities today," he said, a little reluctantly. "But afterward, I'll see what I can do about those accessories," he added with a hopeful smile. Sensing that maybe his longing had been shared, he leaned over to her side of the bed and whispered to her. "And perhaps tonight you can sneak out late to look them over. Or maybe it's just an excuse to spend some time with me... see what happens," he said suggestively. He didn't want to express the thought of not leaving anything 'undone', before their daring plot went into action, but it was understood between them as he backed up and smiled at her.

(( Just wanted to let you know, my posts might be slow/missing for the next few days... I'm starting my internship tomorrow and I have a half hour bike ride, then an eight hour day, then a half hour bike home... So I'll be exhausted and busy. xD I'll try, though. <3 ))

Tahirah breathed deeply when he let go, smiling when he ate the last few grapes. Her hunger was gone and she was happy to instead just sit and watch him, be with him. Suddenly, though, that was cut short by his mention of having a busy day. When he leaned down she pressed her forehead to his and smiled softly, nodding. Hearing his voice, though, her eyes moved up to his and she searched his face for something. What was she looking for? There had been something in his voice and now in the slight twitch of his lips as he talked about her coming back later that night. She grinned as well, just a hint for a split second, before she nodded her head and thought of how she would do that. The girls were generally left alone after a certain hour at night, so she could probably get away then... Either way, she would definitely find a way out for that night.

"
I understand. And I will find a way to come by later. I'll enter over there... I'll knock first, though," she smiled softly, pointing toward a smaller servant entrance that was mainly used when the Prince wasn't there. She kissed him one more time before he backed away. She sat up on the bed and swung her legs over the side. "I'll go ahead and continue with my chores. Have a good day. I'll be thinking about you," she whispered the last part quietly, letting her soft finger tips trail over his chin before she turned away. Tahirah knew that if she didn't leave then, they might not make it out of the room and that thought made her smirk just a bit - just as every thought of spending the day in bed with him did.

Tahirah turned her body from the Princes and picked up the tray, bending over just a bit before she headed back toward the exit and toward her other chores.

((Wow, that really does sound like an exhausting routine! Good luck with everything, and don't worry at all about fewer posts. xD))

Hamadi smiled broadly at Tahirah once she spoke about later, but not as much as he was glowing inside. Kissing her back, he detected an eagerness in her subtle grin that warmed him inside. His body shivered as she traced her finger under his chin as she got up. Too, he was glad that she took the initiative to rise, because Hamadi didn't know if he would have had the strength to force himself away from her. "You don't have to knock, you know," he said softly, with a grin. "I'll be here. And I'm sure I won't refuse you entry," he added with a sly smile.

He pressed his hands down into the soft sheets, and stood up, he eyes drinking in the last sight of her they were destined to have today, watching as he bent over and picked the tray up. Everything about her made him smile and feel wonderful inside, he thought, as he gave her hair a playful swat on his way to the door. "If you need any help getting free tonight, please let me know," he said with a look back towards her. "I'll see what I can do." Heading quietly out towards his activities for the day, it was hard to remove the indelible image of Tahirah's wonderful face from his mind. He greeted his instructor, a weaponry expert, and took up his instruments. As he picked up a javelin and walked across the sand to the target area, he let out a deep sigh, knowing the time would drag by so slowly as he waited to see his love again tonight.

(( Oh, and did I mention that I don't have internet in my room yet? :p So the motivation to go downstairs to the common room and find wifi is not high after a full day at work. xD Hopefully I'll get it soon and fall into a routine. :3 Anyways~))

Pulling herself up and away from him was already hard, but when he got that look in his eyes, she knew him pulling himself away from her wouldn't be possible. But always taught to be conscious of the situation and how she could possibly get in trouble, she knew better than to stick around for too long. She grinned back at him when he spoke and shook her head playfully, winking back at his smile before she disappeared through the door, leaving him for the rest of the day to his lessons. Tahirah carried the tray back to the kitchen and set it down, standing for a minute before moving on to the laundry. She had to grab the sheets for his bed and some other linens for his room and change them out. While she was there she was also told to take the table cloths for the dinner table that the royal family would be eating at that night. There was also his robes that she would have to come back for a little later.

All day her mind was filled with how she was going to sneak away. The scandal was incredible - if she got caught before she got go the Prince's quarters, what was she going to say? That he called for her? It would be hard for them to believe - but she could always tell them to ask him; he wouldn't deny it. Throughout the day she would take the long way around to her chores just to try to catch a glimpse of him - while he might not have seen here, she did manage to watch him with some of his weapon training. After laundry it was time to tidy up a few of the rooms and run around to help with dinner. One of the slaves had been injured down by the river and Tahirah was suddenly beset with her chore - which was helping with dinner. The only possibly exciting thing about that was seeing Hamadi. That, of course, also came with problems. He couldn't look at or treat her the way he normally would when they were alone. Not too long after dinner, though, they would be able to be alone - after the sun set and it grew dark and a bit cooler, Tahirah hoped to be able to sneak away.

((Oh! Well, I'm surprised you were motivated to post at all, everything considered. =P))

Hamadi hadn't noticed Tahirah, of course, while he was practicing at his drills. He was doing his best, in fact, to keep her off his mind as much as possible, hoping it might make the time go by that much faster until he could see her again. So, while changing in his room for the evening meal, he was almost a little relieved that she didn't seem to be around. It would have just been too painful to force himself away from her again. He was purposely late for dinner, as he knew that today was his youngest sister's birthday, and all the royals and servants would be at the dinner feast. Slipping into his oldest sister's room, he had a difficult task ahead of him. Extra jewels were not just kept lying around. So he had to select something for Tahirah that she wouldn't miss in the next two days, and then return it unnoticed; or at least that was the plan.

He thought everything through to himself as he found the place dedicated to these under a table. A girl of noble birth would be expected to adorned both with amulets, for their protective powers, as well as ornamental jewelry, he reasoned. He picked up a knot of Isis, a beautiful one fashioned out of gleaming red glass. Then, he added a brilliant green collar of malachite beads. Finally, Hamadi snatched up several rings of silver, and a bracelet and headband, each of gold, and stuck everything in a fold of his green linen garment, taking off for his room. He had tried to select things which might be considered relatively common, at least among nobles, lest someone associate some of what Tahirah would be wearing with Hamadi's sister, the princess.

Passing quickly by his room, he stashed the 'borrowed' items in a closet, and darted off to dinner. Ten minutes late, he took his seat, apologizing to his father. "I got talking to a friend and didn't realize what time it was," he offered as an apology. But then he did a double-take, looking up from his plate to see Tahirah almost on top of him. He caught himself just before greeting her. That would have been difficult to explain away, but he had become so accustomed to pleasantries with the lovely slave. Their eyes did meet, however, for an awkward moment before Hamadi tried his best to pretend she wasn't there. He knew, though, that his conversation was stiff and awkward the entire evening. The meal was longer than usual, with some entertainment afterward for his sister. He started in boredom at the dancers, Tahirah gone now. He wondered where she'd gotten off to. Finally, he said his goodbyes and got back to his room an hour after sundown. Changing into a light, one-piece linen garment that was comfortable for sleeping in, he knelt down at the closet floor, and began looking through the jewels again, hoping that she'd like what he'd picked out.

Tahirah had spent the whole night trying her best to keep the acceptable, professional distance between herself and the Prince. After being so used to getting close it him, keeping herself consciously away was difficult. They had managed to exchange a few glances but it still wasn't the same - even still, she knew that she would be able to see him later that night. When the entertainment came Tahirah and the other slaves left, returning only after the royal family had gotten up to leave for the night. They were to clean up, returning the dining hall to it's same pristine condition that the family had walked in on.

Finally after this was done, Tahirah and the other girls and the few boys were allowed to go back to their quarters. Unescorted, she knew it was too late for them to really be checking the rooms. She stopped at a corner and as the other slaves passed by a passageway, she pretended to be fixing some sort of wound or something on her arm. Glancing up through some of her hair, she slipped to the side and out of sight once the short train of others had passed her. The slave waited a few beats before continuing slowly down the passageway - if she ran into anyone on the way to the Prince's room, it might be hard to explain away. Still, she had the excuse that he wanted something from her, but he was supposed to be asleep. All in all it would be awkward and probably should be avoided.

Tahirah probably knew the layout of the palace even better than the Prince himself, and perhaps even the Pharaoh. She slipped quickly along the passage ways, around pillars and through rooms until she reached the door she'd mentioned before. The girl took a deep breath before starting to press the door open carefully and quietly - making sure that there was no one else in the room with him before she entered and shut the door behind herself. "
P-Prince?" she questioned, glancing around, not seeing him right away. Did he have another engagement that he had forgotten about or something?

Hamadi had heard Tahirah knock at his door, but inside his large closet, hadn't had time to walk out by the time she came inside the room. His heart raced as he heard her voice, and he raced out of the closet, evidently taking her a little by surprise with a big hug. "It seemed like forever waiting for you, love," he said with a big smile. He leaned in and gave her a long kiss, just a little harder and more passionate than before. "You taste as delicious as ever," he said with a chuckle once he'd pulled away, rubbing his hands up and down her shoulders. This was dangerous and exciting. It was clearly their most forbidden encounter yet, meeting secretly in the dark of the night.

But he had to show her the reason that he'd ostensibly invited her to his room. "Wait here," he said, scurrying back into the closet, and returning a moment later with the results of his scavenger hunt in the folds of his garment. He dumped them onto the bed, walking behind Tahirah, and rubbing her shoulders, pushing her towards the bed so she could look everything over; the amulet, the collar, rings, bracelets and headband. "So what do you think?" he whispered into her ear, letting his hands drift down her sides and over her hips. He gave her a gentle kiss behind the ear. "I hope you like them, but I can try to change anything tomorrow morning if you don't."

Tahirah was a little surprised by him, but smiled when he hugged her and happily returned all of the affection. She loved the feeling of his lips against his and had the same thought - the kiss seemed all that much more because of the element of scandal, of them meeting in secret. When he walked away she smiled as he disappeared once again into the closet only to come back with some of the most amazing jewels that she'd really ever seen. When he pushed her forward she stumbled just a bit, afraid almost that it was a trap, that this dream would come to a crashing end and she would get caught with the Princess' jewels. Sudden jerked from that, she stepped forward, right to the edge of the bed, moving her hand out cautiously to run over the sparkling jewels. Again she shivered when he kissed her, and grinned at him a bit, concentrating for a moment on the feeling of his hands on her waist before she realized what he was saying.

"
Are you crazy?" she said with a light laugh, running her slender fingers over the jewels once again. "They're incredible. So pretty..." she whispered out, turning one of the rings in her fingers for a second. "Better than I could ever imagine. Thank you," she said and put the ring back down carefully, turning her head a bit to look at him and smile. "Are you sure they won't be missed? I'm surprised that she hasn't noticed them missing yet..." she said quietly, smirking a bit. Then again, she was the Princess, and probably had more jewels to keep herself from wearing the same thing more than once in a month or so.

Hamadi beamed at knowing that Tahirah liked what he’d selected for her. He continued to rub her sides with his soft hands as she examined everything on the bed. “Don’t worry, my sister has plenty,” he said, rubbing his nose against hers as she turned around and smirked. “Besides, you need them. What’s a princess without her jewels?” He reached up and pushed a few strands of hair out of her face, tucking it gently behind her ear. He leaned in next and touched her soft lips with his own, closing his eyes and simply savoring the feel, the magnificent smell of his ‘princess.’

He paused, and then pulled back from her just slightly. Hamadi was doing his best to ignore the nagging doubts in the back of his mind. It didn’t feel right to dwell on the fact that any moment they were together in secret might be their last. Every fiber of his being wanted to be more intimate with his love, but he wanted to be sure he wanted it for love; not out of a fear that it might be their only chance. Those feelings were too difficult to decipher, however. He only knew what he felt, and that was love and desire for his little slave girl. “Why don’t you try them on?” he suggested with a devious smile. It was so forbidden for a slave to wear such things, and that only made it so much more delicious. “I don’t know how the most beautiful girl in the world can become any more beautiful, but let’s find out,” he said, leaning over the bed, picking up the headband of gold, and sliding it slowly onto her forehead.

Tahirah smiled when he kissed her and continued to smile when he pulled away - within her own head she was forcing herself to not think about the same things. She didn't want to imagine this being the last thing, didn't want to imagine that these would be the last feelings of his hands or his lips she would feel. Snapped out of her thoughts by his voice, she glanced down at the jewels when he suggested she try them on. Her breath seemed to get caught in her throat as she felt him slip the headband around her forehead, the cool metal, beads, and jewels against her skin. Swallowing back and realizing it was too late - she already had one piece on, after all - she decided to go along with it. Slowly she picked up a few of the bracelets and moved her hands through, letting the bangles hang on her wrists. Next she picked up a ring, then another and put them on her thin fingers, watching carefully as they slid along her fingers, down past her knuckles.

Tahirah looked back and him and smiled softly, trying to stay calm as she slowly turned toward him and back up right against the bed, playing with her rings with one of her hands. "
So... How do I look?" she questioned with a soft smile. Of course the two necklaces that he had brought weren't on yet, but she was already wearing far more jewelry than she had ever in her life - even more than that, the jewels, to anyone else in the palace, were worth more than her life. She breathed deeply and smiled at him again, trying not to think about that. "Like a Princess, I hope. We have a lot of people to fool," she smiled softly, shaking her wrist lightly so that the bangles made a light clanging noise against themselves and her wrist.
