The cold man..

"Good, now use your muscles to push the air out suddenly while maintaining the note." He said to her in a somewhat proud tone. It was impressive she could do that much considering her previous statements.

If he had asked she would have revealed that it wasn't the music that let her move the sand, it was her mind, the music just was a focus point. Her eyes narrowed a bit and after a few wavers in the note, she tensed a bit and the note soared the sand spinning into a cyclone.

It wasn't a matter of how she did it. It was that she did it that mattered to him. Looking to her he smirked. "Well there you go, rather impressive feat for a human." He said slowly to her. "Now, can you direct it though?" He asked her slowly as he pointed over to the still distracted Anansi. "Drop the sand on him." He said.

She let the note stop, keeping the sand whirling slowly "Hal-half human." she stated quietly. Taking another breath and shifting her stance, she raised her voice in song again, drawing the sand column up until it was a shifting cloud and slowly directed it over to Anansi, which dropped on the man a moment later.

Anansi opened his mouth briefly, no sound could be heard but suddenly the sand burst outwards scattering about the beach as it was forcibly dispersed as if by an explosion. He continued to read however as though nothing happened. "He didn't use any of his psychokinesis or other abilities for that, that was an ability you mortals would know as angelsong, if you practice hard, maybe one day you will be close to that level. He did it very low so as not to damage you but if it had been in the least bit audible you'd probably be bleeding from the ears." He said to her slowly with a slight nod. "I mean, he would have taught you but all he knows are angel song, and the word for voice magics, only the maker can teach the word. If you' work hard, like some of the human prophets maybe you will learn a bit one day" He added.

Wyn goggled slightly, watching Anansi and blinked. With even that soft utterance he had the power to scatter sand and her small vocal working apart. And the thought of being able to sing a fraction of the fabled angelsong was mad, but it did not leave her mind easy at all. "M-maybe." she murmured, face showing she did not believe that to be likely right now.

"Oh, you have disbelief...I'd say cover your ears. I can't do this as I am only a construct without enough power but let young Anansi show you. Anansi...you know of the parting song right?" He asked. Sighing Anansi stood and walked over to the edge of the water. Looking out on it he sighed before his lips parted. "Really I'd cover your ears, this will be something that if you hear it fully your mind won't be able to process it...yet" He added.

Wyn nodded and covered her ears tightly as Anansi walked to the shore. She waited, both wanting to hear what she could og the song and not go insane.

Anansi opened his mouth and a din filled the air like a thousand voices all focusing on a single note within different vocal ranges. As he did so the sea before him tore open from surface to bottom it spread as though being forced apart leaving nothing but air between the sky above and the land below the sea. His voice got louder and it spread further apart, the path extending deeper into the ocean stretching out of sight towards the horizon before he finally closed his mouth and the water crashed inwards.

(Haha, he pulled a Moses)

Wyn's jaw dropped and she had to lock her arms to prevent her hands from dropping to her sides in astonishment. It was one of the most amazing things she had seen in her life and watched avidly as the waves crashed inwards, the songs resonance humming in her bones as she shut her mouth unable to put to words of what a sight that was.

(Yup)

"See, the prophet Moses did that same thing and he was mortal, maybe someday you could too." He said to her slowly as Anansi simply made his way back to his seat and picked up his tome once more. Flipping to a particular page he began to run through it once more.

She resisted the urge to laugh and shake her head, dropping her hands and shrugging "M-maybe." she murmured, still uncertain of that statement.

"There are no maybe's only absolutes. Anansi isn't even technically natural in essence if he can learn to use angel song anyone can." He said to her. Looking up briefly Anansi nodded. "Tis true" He mused briefly as he flipped a page and tilted his head in puzzlement.

The girl blinked, curiosity playing over her face as he spoke, then she remembered his crystal skeleton. "T-then I'll le-learn an-and pr-practice." she promised.

He continued to read as the orb began to glow brighter and the figure's body became more full. "Now, one of the first new things you have to learn is to recognize what your opponent is. Certain creatures are more vulnerable to sound than others." It said slowly to her.

Wyn nodded, easing a bit. She knew a little about that actually, having seen creatures with sensitive hearing. "Ye-yes, on-one's with lar-larger ears fo-for ex-example." she commented.

"Or ones with crystalline skeletons, exoskeletons, or parts such as Anansi, except his is attuned to a certain frequency and thus not easily shattered, some are not so lucky however." He added as he looked to her and nodded. "The inner ear can throw off balance in most humanoid creatures and such. Always be aware of your opponent's body."

She listened closely and thought of the few fights she had been in, before nodding "I w-will. Wh-what about th-those that a-are p-protected against s-sound?" she asked.

"Insulated creatures are usually just as susceptible to vibrations, however if they are truly insulated then there is always the possibility of manipulating the landscape about them." He said slowly. "You can make a pit to trap them, create small explosions or some such even with your current abilities can you not?" He asked her slowly.

Wyn blinked "Uhm, y-yes." she replied, not having thought of that to be honest. Those abilities that he had been teaching her were still new, she would have to practice alot to gain prowess at it.

"Good, however if you end up in an environment you cannot manipulate, against an opponent who is immune, what should you do?"
He asked her suddenly before placing his hands in his pockets his lips curling into a pleased smirk.

The girl frowned, that was a bit of a hard question and she looked sheepish as she tried to think of something that could be done "Th-there ar-are some sp-spells, but c-combat would b-be be-best." she murmured.

He laughed softly and shook his head. "the first thing you should do is look for a way to alter the situation." He said to her while shaking his head and waggling a finger. "Tut tut preparation is key." He said to her.

She nodded slowly, and looked at him "An-any su-suggestions?" she asked, thinking for her own self "Co-could ch-change the l-l-land?" she asked, half unsure, it sounded impossible, her magic didn't have that power, she wasn't a druid.

"Doesn't have to be anywhere near that complex." He said slowly to her and shook his head. "Think my dear." He said slowly to her.
