Silent Footsteps... [SeythexKatie]

"Stupid human logic... You're so..." Lantis would have accused her of being 'weak' but he had not. She had fallen to his games easily, but she never broke down considering the circumstances. A slightly far off look came upon his face as she attempted to pull him to her apartment. Was she so weak? Had Lantis found the one? He absent-mindedly allowed her to pull him into the apartment, rage of the detective on his case long forgotten... He snapped out of it as they crossed the living room, "Helena..." He took her grip upon his hand and took it for his own, pulling her close. His hands coming to grip her by her arms. The fire in his red eyes seemed to dull slightly as he looked into hers, confusion was evident within them...

It was still raining outside. Lightning crackled, illuminating the two in the glass door of the balcony.

Ding The elevator reached the sixth floor, this time in the buildings across from Helena's... The young detective Jake stepped out from it, studying his notes, recalling the conversation he had with Helena only minutes earlier... He came to the apartment door, it was wide open, cut off with police tape... He raised it and stepped into the threshold. Chalk outlines of the bodies Lantis had killed days earlier laid upon the bed, outlined with violent blood spatters. His suspect had done this... Whomever had done this.

Lantis' neck craned forward slowly, a kiss evident on his suddenly vulnerable lips.

Helena didn't even respond when Lantis first spoke. Even if he were to say something cruel about her, he never seemed to truly mean those things. And if he did, he was very good at hiding his true feelings. As they entered the apartment she locked the door behind him. Just as she was about to go to the kitchen to turn on the coffee machine, she felt a grip on her hand. Turning back, the same pit feeling returned to her stomach. She wasn't frightened by him, perhaps scared of embarrassing herself, seeming foolish - but she didn't think he would hurt her.

Within moments she had lifted herself to her toes, and met his lips halfway. She smiled a bit to herself as she gently deepened the kiss ever so slightly, before falling back onto the soles of her feet. "You can't hurt him." She said, somewhat ruining the moment. "He hasn't hurt anyone. Besides, even if he does think you killed them... He couldn't catch you." It wasn't so much that Helena cared for the detective, but she didn't like the idea of anyone getting hurt. In truth, she was still in denial that Lantis had killed those people. "Please?"

"Please?"

Lantis scowled at the plea, though his face was softened at the consensual kiss they just shared. This wasn't how he worked... His strong hands still held her by the arms, "You've caught me off guard," He sounded half-bothered by it, yet there was relief in his voice. "No one has ever pulled me out of a trance like that. I would've killed him." When Lantis was pulled into such a shadowy, brooding state, nothing ever stopped him.

Shadows fell from his fingertips, splashing with a cold feeling on Helena's warm flesh. They seemed to take form as they crawled up to her shoulder. A haunting moan issued from them, reflecting Lantis' old memories. He gasped at realizing what he was doing, wrestling his grip quickly from her. "No! Mustn't!" He turned about quickly to the dining room table, planting his hands upon the surface. Again the shadows retracted from his fingertips, slowly and hauntingly they crawled about. Moaning in sorrow.

Another bolt of lightning crackled, illuminating the whole scene. Little did Helena or Lantis know, that the detective saw the second figure across the street in Helena's living room. He left the crime scene quietly, ducking beneath the police tape...

Helena stood by herself in the room, holding her hands together in front of her. She wasn't sure if she should be glad or worried about his words. She had stopped him from something, which no one else had been able to do. That meant he had at least some sort of care on how she felt. Or perhaps it meant she was a threat, and had to be disposed of. Biting down on her lip, the young girl swayed herself back and forth on her toes.

As the shadows began to crawl around the dining table, Helena raised a brow, and after a moment, she rushed forward. "Why can't you stop it?" She demanded, holding his hand. "Why can't you make these things go away? They're so depressing. And you shouldn't be upset right now! You should be happy!" Trying to give a reassuring smile she reached up and kissed his cheeks, before going back to her feet.

"Try to calm down, Lantis. Please."

Lantis laughed aloud suddenly, his hands still upon the table. The laugh was loud, sounded almost teasing. "Calm down?!" He chuckled again, raising his face to the air as he did so, "The bastard knows. He's after me. Like all the others..." The shadows upon Helena's table had made a full circle, flaying back and forth. "They just want to take things away from me. Like you." He looked over to her, red eyes looking calmer now. "But I won't let them." He said, taking his hands from the table, the shadows spilled off the sides after being wrestled from their host.

"I won't let them." He came to her, placing his hands upon her shoulders and looking her dauntingly in the eyes. "But for now..." He breathed lightly, looking down to her with sultry eyes now. He pushed her backwards so she fell lengthwise upon the couch over the arm. He threw his black coat to the floor, laying above her on the couch. "Let me enjoy you."

He took her by the chin and kissed her, with passion.

Helena tried to ignore the tension in Lantis' voice at first. He seemed so angry, possibly demented when he spoke of the detective. It was scary to see a dark creature like him get so upset. Helena had only known him for a few days at most, and while she wanted nothing more than to trust him fully, there was no possible way to do that just yet. No, she still wasn't sure if she could truly let this man keep coming for her.

Still, as Lantis came to her, she didn't object. Shivers ran down her spine, and her stomach began to twirl inside her. Suddenly she was back against the couch, his coat was off - everything was happening so fast. She pushed back a bit, so that her body was on the flat surface of the couch, before watching the man intently. Helena didn't fight him, but nor did she push him to continue. She barely kissed him back, but it was still somewhat of an effort.

Only moments ago he had been yelling, circling with those shadow things. And now he was kissing her, and she was fully expecting for her clothes to be gone shortly.

Lantis' skin seemed to warm to her touch, no longer so cold... His hands roved over her body as he kissed her deeply, coming up to the sides of her face and running his nails through her hair. His body so close to hers, putting up a dominant air. He hungrily worked at her neck, biting at the skin as he toyed with her hair.
