Nyx tensed for just a moment as his hand met her tail, hesitance in her gaze at first before she relaxed into the soft gesture. What has she expected, for him to pull it? It was becoming evident that this man might not have been what she sized him up to be, but Nyx wasn’t ready to say she was wrong about him. Even if some of his actions did entice her to try trusting him.
Shatos’ response only made her more aware of that fact, proving the back of her mind. Her gaze widened upon him, clearly not having expected that kind of reply in the most of their back and forth. Nyx looked his features over curiously for a few moments before grinning to herself. “And a maybe is to convince me? Hmmm.” Her voice was teasing again, though much softer as the woman became a bit thoughtful.
He did prove great company so far, as hesitant ass he was to admit it. They matched each other’s strides and he did seem at least nearly as strong as he’d boasted earlier, not that she’d seen him in combat yet. Besides, she couldn’t deny the fact that her gaze had become accustomed to lingering on his form. Trailing his face now, her eyes would relish the contact. “Impossible to tell until we tried.” She teased with the same words he’d used, unwilling to submit to a change of mind if he wasn’t about to.
After, her expression softened into a relaxed smile, taking in a deep breath as she raised her chin to take in the starry sky. Nyx found herself leaning into him just a little— her body untensing and finally seeming to accept the contact. His question perked her interest, a slightly wide-eyed curiosity coming to her that was far different from her teasing glances. “Not sure I experience that often, but I think I can imagine it. Sometimes it’s essy to get carried away,” she suggested, “Feeling crazy is another thing. That, I can relate to.” She chuckled, looking to him. Nyx left him to room to speak further on it if he wanted, but— she didn’t pry. He was still more or less a stranger, until proved otherwise.
