Pregnancy? why?

As someone who does have this as a kink, I can weigh in a little bit.

There's something primally satisfying about the idea of making a new life. At its base, there's just something about losing control of oneself and pumping a big load into someone, willing or not, or having it done to you. On top of that, there's a narrative satisfaction to it; for some stories, it's a powerplay thing (knocking up a female superhero to take that piece off the board for close to a year). For others, it's a nice culmination of romance. It's sort of a narrative catharsis, something to be led to.

For me, the kink is about the impregnation itself, not the idea of playing out the full pregnancy. It's not really a terribly glamorous thing after all, for the reasons more than one person has brought up. But there's a lot of narrative weight that can be ascribed to it, and it's a potent mix along with the aforementioned primal satisfaction of conception.

That's what it strikes me as, anyway.

What he said.

I am a big fan of it in the RP. The reason for me is two fold. Mostly as a story element, as a source of potential conflict. Anyone who has written with me with that element in the story knows, I offer to jump through the less sexy bits should it happen. Since I write a lot of "illicit" stories, where infidelity is a major element, the idea of having a child by her lover is sexy to me. And if its an interracial story, which i also find myself writing a fair bit, that adds a layer of conflict to a story when the child isn't the same race as the partner.

The other aspect for me, personally, is that when I was married earlier in my life, my ex and I did not have a child. And I want to have one. And at my age, the chances of me doing so are starting to slowly dwindle. So RP is where I can at least fantasize about it some.

And as @RedRose said, its partly the power/ego thing for guys as well.

Just my two cents for what its worth. :D Happy naughtiness, everyone

As multiple people have already written, it's not as much of a kink/fetish, as it is a plot device.

My female characters are usually powerful, independent, prone to charging-in headfirst and coming out on top. When they become pregnant, their ability to do so recedes, especially if we write her further along. Now, she's round and not as strong/fast as she was before, she can't go raring into situations, her physical abilities are compromised and besides that, she has a seed to worry about. Pregnancy serves to knock my women down a few pegs, kind of inducing vulnerability, and then pushing her to rely on the man she's with. When she's out of breath, she'll need him to lean on; when there's danger or violence, she'll have to shield behind him, instead of taking matters into her own hands. It can convert her independence to dependence, to an extent, and that's why I write it rarely, I like my characters standalone.

For my men, when the woman character they're with becomes pregnant, it just turns them more attentive and protective. She's carrying a new life that's half his creation, he knows it can be physically, mentally, emotionally stressful and exhausting, and wants to help as he can. It sort of extends a type of possessiveness and ownership too, in a way that's hard for me to explain. Maybe because it's his child developing in her body, his seed taking root in her womb? Something like, at least.

Besides the above, I tend to keep it as a sub-arc, not the main focus, and I bypass a lot of the more realistic parts that inflict those in RL. It still makes for a great plot device with the right partner, story, and characters though, I've had fun with it everytime it's been done!

Don't know whether I'm the odd man out, given that not only is pregnancy a kink for me, but it's somewhere near the top of my list if not at the very top.

I don't know for sure why it appeals to me in that way but I can take a few guesses if I psychoanalyze myself a bit.

I think part of it stems from the fact that it's a bit like a dog marking its territory, as in being an ownership sort of symbol; she's having MY baby and no one else's. Sort of a possessive thing. Probably comes along with always wanting to be dominant in games. More than likely having components of insecurity and jealousy when it comes to relationships in general.

There's probably also some things about me personally that don't apply to others who share this kink but I was raised by a single mother so having no father in my life or even anyone resembling a father figure kind of made me want to become one just to fill that emptiness in me. Being able to be there for a woman who is so dependent upon the support of the man who impregnated her, and the child that is similarly dependent, just feels like a fulfillment that went missing from so much of my life. But I've recently come to the conclusion that I'm not really that personally interested in having children, which had been the case for the last decade or so up until about 2016 or 2017.

Finesse might be another piece of the puzzle. Having to be gentle when every other instinct in me is to be rough and take charge, is an interesting twist on it, and for a reason that can't really be reasonably disputed.

I'm also fond of weight gain and just heavier female figures in general so that creating an organic reason for her to be bigger than she otherwise would be is an attractive prospect cosmetically. Also makes the tits bigger which ain't bad. Plus lactation is a fun kink that comes with the territory so that's just bonus points.

If I'm being honest, there's a bit of a cruel streak in me at times and, as I mentioned being raised by a single mom, it strikes me as the ultimate form of punishment, forcing a woman to bear a child against her will (but only in fiction; I'm staunchly pro-choice in real life). So in games where the object is to be as controlling and domineering as possible, it's a way to cement that in a way that would make her character's stakes raised because it's not only her struggle anymore.

Interestingly enough though, it's not just standard pregnancy that intrigues me, I enjoy a lot of hentai anime and doujins where it's a result of eggs being implanted or some kind of tentacle spawn or other inhuman thing. Those range from being a way to indulge the most base, primal desires where an unfeeling or superior organism that justifies its impersonal use of a female host, to a romance between such a thing and a woman and her love being able to overcome the uncomfortable physical hurdle of breeding a hybrid of their species.

For me it is seldom about the actual kink/situation itself but more what it allows me to explore. I tend to use these things as devices. I would not have any interest in playing a straight up pregnancy slice of life RP where woman gets pregnant, followed by classes, doctors appointments, stressed out husband, painting the baby room etc etc.

But a couple who want a baby but man is infertile, cue finding a "bull" to inseminate wife old fashioned way? Or a pregnant woman doing porn, pregnant married woman being offered money for sex, some kind of Femdom world setting? Something kind of odd around that, never done it but it could be fascinating and fun.

Its a fantasy. To be close to someone and share an experience that only the two can have.Since the rp affords lack of pain and can be leveraged as a magical birthing idea as well :).
Its def not about the "actual" pains of physical pregnancy

I'm ridiculously pregnant right now, and honestly, it's weird, because I still like these as a kink. But it's not sexual to me in real life.... Like, I guess I compartmentalize. IRL pregnancy is not sexy, but in a story with the right elements it is. I think it's also the sense of drama, intimacy, and other things that can be in built into a story.

I get most kinks.. OK maybe not poo/pee and amputation..

But pregnancy as a kink in RP?

I've been preggers twice. Neither time was it particularly sexy or arousing. Pain, aches, loss of control of various bodily functions. Insane horomone swings and lets not get into the actual ordeal that is birth. Wionderful act of sharing my arse! puking, pooing myself, trying to squeeze a fecking bowling ball thoruhg my lady parts while my hubby 'shared the experience' .

It seems to be a very common 'like' for men. So I am just wondering, why? Come on guys, enlighten me.
I hate it. It's a weird fetish I'll never understand. However I had a coworker that just loved pregnant girls. He said there was just a unique beauty about it. I can get being with a spouse that's pregnant and still thinking they're sexy and gorgeous and all that stuff. And that's pretty admirable even. But as a fetish, just no way. I think it's kind of weird. But to each their own, I guess.

This. Definitely the whole "impregnation" part being the kink and the "pregnancy" being the side affect. When I think of pregnancy as a fetish or kink, it's usually done in such a way that the normal intricacies of pregnancy(soreness, swelling of limbs, morning sickness) are more or less thrown out the window. Like there's something magical at play that either speeds up the gestation periods or makes it so being pregnant is actually euphoric and addicting in its own right. This is the only way pregnancy and impregnation, in my warped peanut of a mind, can be looked at as a fetish. Same with the whole "pumping a big load into someone, willing or not, or having it done to you" part. Super power play move there. Doesn't mean the after effects have to be taken into consideration, depending on the plot, the players, and all that junk. RPing out the whole doctor visits, months of nausea, and so on and so forth, no thank you. But personally it's looked at as a "cherry on top" type of kink for me. It's not at all going to make it or break it and if the other individual wants to include it, sure, awesome sauce! If not, no biggie whatsoever.

Well as luck you have it, for those that would run away at the mere mention of it, I pretty much stopped looking for RPs with Impregnation in mind.

But as I used to, like it's been mentioned before, I always thought it just would be interesting to have that happen at one point of another as a form of a plot device. I even had to go out of my way to explain why I would've wanted to include such a thing to occur int the RP. I don't do breeding fests, hyper pregnancy or even just plain sex with a fully pregnant character. That stuff is a turn off for me. But the event from the moment it happens, be it that the female character would be aware of it or not, was just something to add to the whole scenario that the pairing in question may not even like each other.

For example two opposing races that are long time enemies forced to work together, they're at each other throats and can't wait to part ways again once it's all over. Then have a few times where it gets too much for them and let them go to town with some good old rough/hate-sex. And up comes the consequence of their actions.

Without that, I don't know, just feels like a cheap way to bypass the act of sex as just a hump and dump within the RP.

Pregnancy in itself doesn't interest me, doctor and hospital visits, lamars classes etc But recently the idea of a married or attached woman getting pregnant (on purpose or by accident) by someone other than their partner has become interesting. I was playing a FxF RP with someone on another site about a lesbian couple where one woman wanted to be a mother and their only option was to find a man and do it the natural way.

Stuff like that is interesting to me but not the basics of the pregnancy itself.

It's not a kink for me. I don't actively think it's sexy. The idea of 'breeding', ie emphasising the whole act of potential conception is interesting, so I do it.

However, I'm AFAB non-binary. I'm actively trying to get a hysterectomy. I do not want to be pregnant. I don't even like sex. It's simply living vicariously through characters to imagine what it would be like.

I use pregnancy or the risk of in a variety of ways, usually as a plot point and not so much a kink. One instance is a woman who was told by multiple experts that she is unable of bringing life into the world, and the man she is fucking trying to prove those experts wrong.

Pregnancy is one of the ultimate forms of subjugation to me. A male has left the ultimate mark upon you, a creature growing within you with shared features from the two of you. You deal with your body’s changes for months, his job but a deposit in comparison. I usually skip over most of the labors, because it’s a plot point, and not particularly a kink.

I do use a lot of large, “barbaric” women - namely orcs; who do rely on males to get them pregnant to continue their family lines. Whether these males give consent or not, they are kept protected in these all female villages as their most valuable resource.

It has its ups and downs.

I've come to appreciate it somewhat over time, in that a long term partner who I get along with well and have persistent characters for is free to explore it. Otherwise I think there's a level of taboo and commitment to 'diving into it' that wards me away from the kink, especially when engaging with new partners.

At a less deep level I think it's fair to say there is appeal just by the impression of consequences (the risk of pregnancy kink, vs going all the way). Kind of a spectrum of how much stuff like that you want to bake in. I tend to be more comfortable with it as a deliberate plot point than strictly a kink since I also come from a place of 'wait that doesn't sound pleasant at all actually...' when thinking pregnancy.

Parts of it are sexy to me, one important aspect is the deep intimacy, which also means that I only really like it in more romantic roleplays. And, of course, as a plot element. In the settings that I prefer, it's pretty unavoidable, unless special steps are taken. And yes, I also really enjoy those special steps and the whole story of love and trust it builds.

I'm in the plot device camp rather than having the pregnancy being the main plot. I can see lots of potential for story line involving pregnancy in some way but am bored with the idea of playing it out as a Slice of Life thing where it is played as it would happen in real life.

I've said it before, and I think this is the best way to describe it for me - it's not a sexual kink for me.

Okay - yes. I like lactation and breeding talk and vaginal creampies as sexual kinks. The risk is exciting too. But actual pregnancy? I don't think there's anything wrong with a pregnant woman having sex, I support that as well. But going through the motions - absolutely not.

It's a story kink. I think it's fascinating to see how two (or more) characters react to the news. Did they want this? Was it unexpected? Was it planned but still a surprise? How they react throughout the pregnancy, and at the end. (I of course have no desire to go into the realistic, terrible details. The closest I've come is in my longest running D&D game, one of my characters is almost constantly pregnant and another of my characters is a midwife. I've gone so far as just to having the midwife yelling the necessary, "PUSH", telling fainting and TELEPORTING!?!?!? men to GTFO, "...you need to push again, you're having twins" "OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE", etc. We make it kind of fun, and then there's crying and the baby is there and the reactions are just... I LOVE IT every time.)

And then of course you've got the characters becoming parents, and how they deal with it. It's just another way to explore character. Building a life between characters is a supremely intimate, romantic act to me as well.

I'm not into it, but I get why pregnancy and breeding are popular kinks. I mean, it is in the center of a lot of our instincts, and the animalistic point of sex. Other than people who straight up want nothing to do with kids, I believe the conflict centers around how much we can or can't dismiss our morals for RP.

A blunt example of this would be noncon. Most who have a kink for it know it is wrong, and wouldn't actually do such things, but don't mind writing it. While others cannot dismiss their morals or their morals say: this is way too fucked up to turn me on. It can be similar with pregnancy.

Let me explain from my point of view.

I was raised thinking if I get pregnant, it would be a crime worse than murder, and I don't think I came from the only household like that lol. While I enjoy some taboo kinks, I don't enjoy all, and I feel like pregnancy is part of it.

Took me years to not look at semen as a life ruining substance. Not fun, but I think it is a fair reason why the idea of pregnancy or risk of pregnancy turns me off. Luckily with RP, anything goes, and magically MC doesn't get knocked up or even needs to worry about it! To me, that sounds like a blessing.

There is more to it, but as a woman, if I RP pregnancy, I'm going to drop a lot of my harder kinks and some of my epic adventures. It's one thing to RP abusing a woman, but to me, it a whole other to abuse a pregnant woman or force her to climb mountain tops. This is where I struggle to dismiss my morals despite the fact I can dismiss a lot given my kinks. Call it my own instincts as a woman, but I'd be too worried about the safety of a fictional baby and their mother lol. Which... Doesn't get me excited.

Another thing, pregnancy can kinda kill a story. Adventures are possibly not so wild, the RP now centers around it, when the baby is had, someone usually RPs them more than the other or they become forgetten... As if just an object of kink. Don't get me wrong, is perfect for those liking to RP out families or able to kinda dismiss the babies for the sake of kink, but it ain't for me.

Despite all this, there are times I'm fine with pregnancy if it is done correctly, but it isn't really kink related at all; well, other than the attempts to make sure MC gets knocked up, but that is just my love for intensity in general. Still, I tend to only do it for a very romantic story, a story where it is needed to shape a story with fun drama ('King really needs a heir' kind of thing), or possibly an end of RP (Oh, shit! She is pregnant now! Dun, dun, duuuuun! Fade to black) but that is about it. I'm open to discuss it, but it's iffy.

That's why for me, pregnancy is more of a backdrop or device for the overall story. I am not interested in playing it as per real life with doctor visits and hospitals etc. And I think once the baby is born that it would become increasingly dull. And I kind of feel weird writing something like "And they left bubs with her parents so they could spend a night at the BDSM club" etc lol.

I'm not in to it at all. I can understand how others are but an old group I used to rp with ruined even the idea of it. The Red Queens characters were Canon in name and appearance only. She changed them to be paper thin cut outs, all from the same sheet of paper. And she had it that no matter what they could get knocked up.

And it wasn't one kid, it was an entire litter of them, one after another. The characters man vag was a clown car crossed with a slip and slide. Once the croch goblins were born, she forgot about them and they vanished so her characters could pop out another litter.

None of my characters are human or simply can't get any one pregnant so I don't have anyone trying to force or demand I play that kink.

This is one of those that I can't see the appeal of. I understand that there is a market for it and there is pretty much a kink for everything, I definitely don't judge people who enjoy it but for me it just doesn't feel right. There's only one person in the world I would write it with, and even then it would be part of a happy ending with a fade to black after the pregnancy test, maybe one more scene for good luck.

It's not about attractiveness, it doesn't make me squeamish, I don't think there is anything wrong with pregnancy and sex, but sexualising to the point that it's a kink just feels off to me for whatever reason. I dislike it, so I won't write it into my fantasy scenes except for that happy ending. Breeding on the other hand, that I totally get, but since my RP's are long term in pretty much all of them I would have to deal with pregnancy after indulging that one, so it's also out for me.

I get the appeal of Pregnancy and Risk of Pregnancy. There's something primal and sexy about impregnation, when it's done right. Knocking up woman after woman just because you can - not sexy to me, sorry.

Would I want to write the next nine months of pregnancy, though? No. If pregnancy is going to be a part of the story, it's taking a back seat to the main plot, a lot of details are going to be glossed over...and it's happening at or near the end of the story so as to not overshadow the main plot of the story.

For me, as a woman who has struggled to conceive for almost half a decade now, a lot of the 'kink' comes from being able to have something in my mind that I can't have in reality? Escapism at it's finest. I'm not there to write about the whole ordeal of course! I'm not looking for birthing scenes or anything of that nature, nor is there a focus on 'pregnancy sex' in most cases... sure there's an aspect of it (my personal experience from the pregnancies I had that didn't end well, I was horny as hell all the time and couldn't do anything about it because miscarriages and high risk pregnancies.)... but it's more about the emotional bonding and toll that comes to relationships. There's mood swings, cravings, long periods without sex where the RP's focus is on the characters and the story of them building their home and family.

I play a lot of slice of life though! Sometimes with the goal of knocking the girl up and making it to happily ever after; in which case the relationship and the resulting pregnancy is the main part of the story anyways, not the kink. Others through the course of plotting we go 'well... what if she got knocked up, how would that complicate or enrich their lives?' and then it's once again, not about the kink of her getting 'bred' but about the trying, the struggles that come with the stress of making that big decision.

Once again, this comes from someone who (as of yet) can't have kids despite trying, and some of it pulls from my limited experiences, and a lot of it is just me wanting what I can't easily have!! *bows*

Like others I could get into it if it was a part of a bigger plot but not if it was to be written strictly from the mundane aspect of how it plays out in reality. I can see it working well within a cuckolding RP or something darker or more fantastical. I have ideas but none are just about how it works in real life.

My biggest kink is pregnancy. I have a very specific condition for it to be arousing, which is a girl (especially one I like/love) who has been impregnated by another guy; if it's her ex, even hotter.

I love the feeling of being second place (another condition is she has to have had only 1 boyfriend or sexual partner, so she's been tainted just before I got to her; defeat by only weeks or months is one of the components of this kink), knowing that her experience of it wasn't because of me, and her first time having sex and her first pregnancy was because of another guy.

It's not exactly cheating/cuckold/netorare, but it's similar, sort of an after-cuck variant.
