De Antiqua Tenebrae (The Ancient Darkness) RP One on one

Uriel gritted his teeth as Belail’s wound healed, no dark magic should’ve been able to heal a wound made by his light. He wished he had his own sword, it’d been made for him and as such was better suited for his powers. He flinched at Ariel’s cries of pain, but barely fought the urge to go to her, knowing he could not fight them both at once, as much as he hated it, she would have to wait. “A snake?” Uriel asked with contempt. “A weak predator. Using deceit and poison to catch it’s food. Yes, you are a snake. You’re a snake and I’m an eagle, and you are my prey.” He flew toward the top of the temple then dove at him, intending to wait for him to react and the twist around him to go at Ariel’s sword, but as Lucis’s sobs hit his ears it had the opposite effect Belail had wanted as Uriel cried out in anguish and veered away from the demon. He clamped his hands to his head as if trying to hold his skull together, this time he could tell it was her. He nearly ran into a wall before he caught himself and evened out his flight again. Tears streaming down his face now, he yelled at Belail, “You are a coward, of the worse kind. You represent your race well demon, cowards and weaklings the lot of you.”

Maeva hissed in annoyance, she’d hoped to use Ariel’s magic to heal the wound Uriel had given her, would’ve loved the irony in that, but she’d have to settle with waiting until Belail was finished with the deity. She released Ariel, pushing her away roughly, muttering something about uselessness. Resigning herself to wait she cast a spell over the wound to stop the bleeding and returned to her beast form. She sauntered over to Lucis’s statue and leapt onto the shoulder, getting comfortable and kneading her claws on the rock, leaving deep rents as her harder-than-diamond claws dug into it. She thought about helping Belail out, but knew he didn’t need it and would rather finish him off himself, so she just watched with amusement, laughing at Uriel's reaction to Lucis’s cries, which to her were a beautiful, arousing, noise.

Du’an was rather surprised when Navi hadn’t persisted to see his testicles, but was even more surprised when she burst into tears because she wouldn’t receive a baby from a fairy and ran off. He sighed and kicked a rock muttering under his breath, “Yea, ‘cause you’re totally ready to have a kid.” He broke into a run and yelled after her, “Navi wait! Just because there isn’t a Baby Fairy doesn’t mean you can’t have a baby!”

Ina silently cursed her nonexistent self-control and, instead of automatically confirming his discovery she gave him a look like he was stupid, “What are you insane? Do I look like a Sanguis to you? Who is Ina? My name is Candle, and if anyone that knows me spots me they’ll know you’re not my mother ‘cause I don’t have one. Don’t you think if this Ina was going to make herself look like a Ventus she’d’ve chosen a better body than this? Not only am I a kid, but I’m a sickly one at that.” Not to mention the fact that there’s no way I could successfully perform a transformation spell without killing myself in the process, she added silently to herself. “I’m in and out of the hospital constantly, so I often just wear the gown anyway. I don’t have anything you want, let me go,” she made herself burst into tears, looking for all the world like a scared little girl.

Dara didn’t argue further as he followed Abdiel and replied, “She’ll be fine as long as she stays in the shelters like she said she would. Besides my son’s a better fighter than me.” He grimaced as he watched Abdiel vomit, he was barely holding his own stomach contents. Grabbing Abdiel’s arm as he came back over, he pressed a hand to his forehead worriedly, he wasn’t a doctor, but he was a father so he knew more than nothing, although it was much harder to tell anything about an anthropomorphic being than another humanoid like himself.

Belail’s long muscular tail flared about while the muzzle of his face push forward and his long soft fur protrude out from his pores he morphed back into the beastly creature he was best known for. The blade that had been clutched in his hand now hovered over his back like a magnet repelling itself. It remained aligned with his long powerfully built spine so it would not interrupt the beating pattern of his wings. Belail yawned in boredom with his rival’s repetitive sarcasm and his bellowing voice recoiled off the walls of the hallow temple that was still saturated in darkness. “You must be mistaken because all I see is a sickly love bird who has been mourning the death of his mate. You think you have been hunting me but it is I who has been luring you the entire time. Don’t think that Lucis has been my first deity that I have killed, there has been many more before her. You deities have been my pray since the beginning and you are no different then they are.” It was apparent that he had experience with Uriel’s kind and he considered it a mastered art when it came to destroying any form of divine god. Despite his plans failing to lure the deity closer it pleased him to see the anguish vale over his enemy’s body as Lucis’s wailing swirled about in Uriel’s ears. Her voice was then smothered and with it her presence. Belail grew tired of toying with him he figured it would be the best time to finish his opponent off. His wicked laugh flowed throughout the room making it difficult to know his exact position in the light stricken cathedral. He listened to Uriel call him a coward once more and he had heard thousands of deities call him that before. To him they used it as an excuse because they were unable to defeat him in battle so the word didn’t even strike a cord with him. His voice still echoing about in the darkness he no longer remained facing Uriel. He faded like a shadow before casting behind the back of his foe and without hesitation Belail sank his long broad teeth deep into the muscle fibers of the deity’s neck. He listened to the flesh popping under pressure along with the chain mail's links fracturing with such force before he began violently shaking his head in hopes to snap Uriel’s spine. His robust arms embraced the angel’s torso in a death lock with his claws tapped against Uriel’s chest plate trying to shred it apart so that he may plunge the dark crystal deep into his heart. Belail’s tail swung about Uriel’s front continuing to strike his rival’s armor with his lethal stinger searching for a weak spot that would allow access to Uriel’s skin. His bulky body outsized his enemy in both weight and length as he maintained his ability to lock Uriel in place which made it almost impossible to escape while the demon’s claws wrenched apart the metal casing that protected the deity’s chest. Uriel’s blood dribbled out of his mouth his black pupils flooded the entire surface of his eyes he recalled the memories of all the deities that he had murdered. How he drained them of their powers so that he may make it his own. In the middle of his reminiscing he remembered one deity in particular that was now his slave, Oriax had once been one but after robbing everything from him like the dark lord did to Ariel, Oriax had forgotten who he was and what his true form looked like. Belail found himself looking up at Maeva and wondering if he was impressing her while he continued to restrain Uriel he couldn’t wait to humiliate him. The deity had finally gotten what he craved so much from the beginning of their fight and that was direct combat but with Belail being more beastly then anything sword fighting would be his last option acting on his feral instincts.

Navi then came to a halt, she heard Du’an tell her she could get a baby and as she wiped the tears from her eyes turning to face him. With a hyperventilated cry she asked, “How do I do that there is no baby fairy…so who will bring the babies?!” Her innocent mind was as pure as they come and her intentions untainted since she had been so ignorant for so long. She didn't know that it would take a lot of growing up to have a child or the extent it would take to rear one. She stood waiting for Du’an to catch up to her while she tried to calm down from her over hysterical moment. She suddenly felt foolish for acting like such a child especially in front of someone she had a crush on and now thinking her chances of him liking her in such a way seemed hopeless.

Oriax only shook his head at her as he had already seen who she was and convincing him other wise was impossible, "Well I guess if you say who you really are then I will get yelled at by master for being wrong but that is a risk I am willing to take." He continued to travel down the back alley following the scent of Belail into the dead end but when he couldn't locate him, Oriax became a little annoyed that he would have to continue to drag this little girl around and just as he turned around one of the thieves that lived with Candle noticed her. "Hey Brogan isn't that Candle that woman is carrying around...she looks awfully frightened I thought she was supposed to be in the hospital!"

Unable to stand anymore Abdiel's weight bared down on his friend and his legs went weak before crashing to the ground. Even sitting was to much of a task. He tried to hold up his own head and body while his words were hard to understand now, "You are going to have to leave me here. I- can't go...an...further! Go...get hel-" His pupils then slid up under his upper eye lids exposing the whites of them before passing out his head came slamming to the ground. He hadn't known it but he was dying a slow and painful death and without someones knowledge of stopping such a curse he would be dead soon enough.

Uriel barely heard Belail’s response through the whirling agony in his mind and ears. He hadn’t been there to witness her death, but he could still see her now, see her fighting Belail, see her being run through with his sword, and her last moments of life. He didn’t know if that had actually happened or if it was just images his mind was creating as punishment for not being there to help her. Even as Belail cut off the cries of Lucis he could still hear him, echoes of lost love and time. It wasn’t until Belail’s teeth pierced his flesh that he came back to himself with a yell more of surprise then pain. He cursed himself for loosing focus and went limp when the demon shook him making it harder for him to do as much damage, but as Belail’s claws started to dig at his chest-plate he went rigid again and, in a sudden burst of strength, spun, flipping the two of them upside down so that Belail’s own wings would be working with gravity instead of against it, pulling them closer to the ground, and before Belail had a chance to react Uriel grabbed the demon’s stinger and whipped it over his shoulder, shoving it into Belail’s eye. He then wiggled free and, pushing off of Belail with his feet, dove for Ariel’s sword.

Amaya pushed herself to her feet slowly, extremely confused as she looked around. Last thing she remembered was being in a street in the sun then excruciating pain and she'd passed out. Now she was in some building with not lighting but somehow she could still see. She looked around and had no clue where she was, there was a large statue and then she spotted Maeva on the statue behind him. Then she noticed a something wet dripping on her lower shoulder and she looked at it. It the darkness it appeared mostly black, but she could see a red tint to it. She looked up and was startled to see Belail digging into a winged man just above her. She scrambled away as they flipped and came crashing towards her.

Du'an caught up with her and placed his hands on her shoulders comfortingly, he waited patiently for her to calm down with a small smile on his face before he continued with his explaination, "That's what I was trying to tell you about. Babies aren't brought, they're . . . " he searched for a good word then finished kinda lamely, "made, and you need two people to do it. That is what testicles do, they're one small part of it anyway." He blushed a bit and smiled at her, he had absolutely no clue of her feelings for him, or for that matter of his for her.

Ina renewed her efforts to struggled out of Oriax's grasp, "But . . . but what if he gets mad at you for wasting his time." She looked around frantically for help and she noticed to people that she recognized, but no, that's not right, she'd never seen them before. Then a name she'd never heard popped into mind and she smiled as she realized she had the memories still left in the body she now occupied. "Brogan! Brogan help me!"

Brogan stopped walking and looked at the man he had been walking with then followed his gaze. Ina and Brogan noticed each other at the same time and as the girl started to yell at him he growled, "Yes it is, and I don't recognize that woman." Placing a hand on the short sword on his hip he stalked forward snarling at Oriax, "You are you and why are you dragging around Candle?"
(haha, i was totally about to bring in Brogan

Dara tried to catch Abdiel but he was quite a bit smaller than his friend and was only barely able to slow his progress to the ground. "Abdiel!" Dara yelled at him, trying to keep him from loosing consciousness, but he knew it was too late for that. He wasn't strong enough to carry Abdiel back to town, he would have to bring some one back to him. "Hang on Abdiel, if for no other reason than to help Amaya, Night, and Moon." He didn't know if Abdiel could hear him, but knew if he could that would make him fight all the harder. Jumping to his feet Dara dashed to the street and then pelted the ground, running as fast as he could back to the city.

The joints in Belail's wings began to invert as he tried to keep himself airborne but the distance from the floor was short. He hadn't had enough time him to catch himself and he found himself forced to land. Surprised by the deity's burst of strength thinking he had the divine right where he wanted him. The armor now exposing Uriel's flesh had been tore open just enough for it to reveal the deity's chest as he fought to try and dig the crystal deep into his enemy's heart. Belail grunted when his long muscular tail was snatched up and it thrashed around trying to release it from Uriel's grasp. He let out a wild roar when he felt his stinger being driven into his socket and as swift as it went in he wrenched it from his eye. Further enraged Belail clamped his jaws repetitively into the Uriel's flesh. He felt his teeth plucking the deity's shoulder muscles like a pick on a guitar before the divine was able to wrenched his maw away. Landing on his hind legs Belail kept himself balanced his wings sweeping out in harsh beats into the wind when Uriel pitched himself of his chest. A cold-hearted roar burst from his lips as he had lost all patience and the immaculate statue began to breathe life. The once opened stone palm that held Ariel's sword began to clasp shut into a fist. The hard surface stretched like flesh leaving several hair line fractures behind. Morphing back into his two legged form Belail cloaked the dark crystal with his hand his finger tightly around it. The stone vanished before reappearing around Maeva's neck and at the same time the wound on her leg healed with excelled speed. Since she was bonded as one with him all it took was a bit of concentration to heal her wounds. "Maeva you know what to do so finish him!" He snarled out in anger as he began raising himself off the floor once more and with his dark blade in hand he awaited the moment Maeva would plunge the dark crystal into his enemy's chest.

Caflice looked about in a fog as he could barely remember what had happened to him and where he was now seemed almost like a dream. It was peaceful and he felt no agony when he soon came to realize that he was dead but despite the sadness of his life ending so soon he couldn’t find the tears to cry. He walked in the hazed realm between the living and the dead before noticing he could see his battered body lying on the floor in the familiar temple of Lucis. It was like he was almost staring through an open window into someone’s home. He gazed on in horror as he watched Uriel facing off with Belail and in his heart he knew that this Deity didn’t have the strength to evade the demon much longer. Caflice then averted his eyes form the horrific scen he was getting a sense he was not alone and peering off into the distance he notice a small stature of a child was looming near. It pained him greatly to think that she might be dead like him but taking a couple steps forward he was able to reach her before leaning down. “What is your name? Do you know if you have passed? You are so young!” His questions would have to wait as he looked back over at Uriel and being a valiant soldier he couldn’t sit back and let Belail destroy the city’s only hope of survival. “I must save him and I might need your help to do it. Will you aid me?” He knew that it wasn’t right to ask such a small child but she was the only one standing at his side that might be able to assist him.

Ariel leaped next to Amaya she was only a few feet from the half breed Sanguis when Belail had started to fall near the two of them. She wailed out in agony at the feel of her shattered wings brushing up against Amaya and frightened by her Ariel ran into the corner that was closest to her. Belail glared at both of them before shoving Amaya out of the way so that he could clear his path for flight.

Oriax ignore her last attempt to escape him or at least that is what he thought until she went yelling out at Brogan and he muttered in anger, “Oh good job Ina now you have gone and got these poor Ventus killed.” He knew that they recognized her and convincing them other wise would be pointless so he did the next best thing and without saying a word Oriax ran off with Candle in his arms down the long winding alley before turning off out of site. His speed was abnormal for any Ventus able to maintain a gap between them and when he had turned the corner he had vanished into thin air before reappearing on the roof tops back in his cold blooded form. “Scream and I will snap this little girl's neck and then that way you die with her!” He threatened as he waited to see if they had lost site of him.

After calming down she listened to more of Du’an’s explanation but to her he wasn’t making a bit of sense. “What!!! You can make babies like you make blankets??? And you make them with your testicles…..” She paused only briefly as she tried to figure out how that worked, “That is…..weird….and I don’t think I want to hear anymore.” Her interest then suddenly turned to freight by his starting explanation and she found herself looking about trying to avoid the subject any further as the idea of a baby fairy sounded much more pleasant then what Du’an was describing.

Despite the pain that ripping his shoulder out of Belail’s mouth had caused him, Uriel couldn’t help the savage grin (that many could mistake as a wince) at the sound of Belail’s pained roar. He was nearly at the statue when it moved and for a split second he thought maybe Lucis’s spirit was within it, but then it cut off his access to the weapon and he snarled in anger.
An infuriated roar mingled with Belail’s as Maeva watched Uriel injure her king with his own weapon and she nearly flew off the statue to attack him herself when it started to move beneath her and she had to stay put and dig her claws in to keep from falling off. She then grinned as the crystal appeared around her neck and her wound sealed shut. “My pleasure,” she hissed excitedly and spread her massive wings.
“Not strong enough to finish me off Belail?” Uriel yelled over his shoulder. “Too weak to win at your own little game of fetch without cheating?” He flinched at Ariel's cry of pain and took a moment to throw a healing spell at her, having most of his attention on the spell and trying to figure out how to get the sword out of the stone grip he didn’t notice Maeva diving at him until it was too late. A grunt escaped him along with all his breath as her fore-paws slammed into his back and drove him to the marble floor, shattering several ribs in the process and ending his spell prematurely, he wasn't sure if it would do anything for her now, not at this distance and before he could fully finish it. His attentions were brought back to himself as Maeva grabbed his wing and pulled it out of socket as she used it to flip him over. He threw an arm up in front of him and she pushed it aside and held it down with one strong claw, his other arm was useless after Belail had shredded all it’s muscles so there was nothing else to keep her other claw from slamming the dark crystal into his now unprotected chest.

Candle was sitting on the ground . . . or was it the floor? or just air? She wasn't sure, she had her knees pulled up to her chest her arms wrapped around them and her face buried in her knees. She didn’t notice Caflice until he started to speak to her. Her head shot up as he spoke and she looked at him a bit fearfully for a moment, having been taught that soldiers were to be avoided at all times, then she realized that it didn’t really matter any more and she said, “Candle, and . . . I don’t know.” She looked at her hands as she stood up and then up at him. "The last thing I remember was the ceiling falling around me, and then there was a strange woman in my head, and now I’m here.” She shook her head and smiled as he asked for her help, “I’ve been watching them for a little while now, I wanted to help him but I don’t know how. May-may’s down there, and she needs her Candle but I don’t know what to do.” A fierce determination filled her eyes that was unbefitting a small child and she said, “Tell me what to do and I’ll do it.”

Amaya didn’t react to Ariel getting closer to her as she was too interested it the fight between the powers of dark and light, she did however hiss in anger when the broken deity yelled in her ear. She tried to swipe a claw at her but missed as Belail shoved her aside. Barely keeping her footing she scrambled away from the demon so she wouldn’t get hit as he took off again.

“My name is Candle,” Ina shouted again, trying one last time to convince him, “Brogan help!” she yelled as Oriax took off running. She looked around rather peeved when she found herself on a roof and then rather startled to find the arm holding her was no longer that of a woman, but scaled and hard, then she knew who it was that was holding her and knew he wouldn’t be convinced so she sighed and changed her mind. She grinned up at him as he threatened her and replied, “Well, this body’s already died once today, dieing again can’t be that big a problem.” With that statement she took a deep breath and yelled, “Brogan! On the roofs! It’s a demon! Get help!”

Brogan took off after Oriax with a snarl, very willing to attack a woman to get Candle back. "Get back here!" he yelled as the two of them vanished around a corner. He growled when he reached the dead end and there was no one there. He looked around searching for an escape, but could find none, then he heard Ina's yell and growled again, he turned to the other thief he was with and said, "If it's a demon we'll need more help, you go I'll subdue him." Without waiting for an answer Brogan used a couple crates and a low wall to reach the roof tops where he took off towards Candle/Ina's voice.

Du’an sighed, “No, it’s not bad, it’s . . . I’m sorry,” he looked at the ground and took an awkward step away from her, “I’m not very good at this kind of thing.” A hint of sadness and longing entered his voice as he went on, more to himself than to her, “It’s not weird, it’s . . . it’s the most natural thing in the world . . .” his fists clenched and unclenched repeatedly and his eyes swept the forest as if he was looking for something that he’d lost, “it’s a beautiful thing,” he finished in a whisper as he turned and headed towards the village, stuffing his hands in his pockets and staring at the ground as he walked.

Dara dashed down the road, running as fast as he could. After only a few moments he could hear the pounding of a running svine behind him and he skidded to a stop, spun around and ran back up the street towards the sound. He soon saw a person on a svine in full gallop with a cape billowing out behind them. His fear for Abdiel’s life more prominent than that of his fear of svines, Dara planted himself in the middle of the road and waved his arms frantically. The svine was yanked to a stop and the angry voice of a woman flowed out from under the hood, “I’m in a hurry man, what do you want?”
“I’m sorry,” Dara panted, “but my friend . . . I think he’s dieing. Please, help me.”
There was a moment of silence then, “Fine, where is he?”
“This way,” Dara dodged around the svine and back up the street not waiting for her to turn around, knowing the svine would be faster than him anyway. He was right as she’d soon caught up with him just as he veered off the street and into the woods. Abdiel wasn’t far off and Dara skidded to a stop beside his friend’s prone form and looked back at the woman as she dismounted the svine. “We need to get him to the city,” Dara said frantically, “I’ll help you get him onto the svine and find someone . . . who can . . .” he trailed off as she knelt down beside Abdiel.
She placed a hand on his chest a muttered a couple words. “Hmm, well that’s a little weird.” She looked up at Dara, "You’re going to want to back off a bit.” Dara was confused by that statement but did as he was told and moved away from the two of them but stayed close enough to watch as she leaned over Abdiel and placed her other hand next to the first and started chanting under her breath.

The sound of flesh stretching echoed against the finely crafted statue and his blind eye inflated back into its proper form. He clutched his blade tight, digging his nails deep within his skin and drawling blood to the surface of his hand an overwhelming rage swelled up in his wicked soul. Belail then raised the vale of darkness when the light pierced through the stain glass window flooding the room with radiance once more and with his wings draped open he ascended towards the ceiling cascading an ominous shadow down on Uriel. He scoffed at the deity’s useless taunts while he recognized the savage grin on his enemy’s face. He knew it all to well and with revenge only seconds away he returned the same malicious smile knowing that Maeva was about to wipe it off Uriel’s face. “The only one who is weak here would be you since you’re the one who went cheating! You can’t win at this game without using your own weapon instead of borrowing mine and besides Maeva is bored, she wants to join in. It wouldn’t be fair to exclude her now would it?! Oh yes and another thing I can’t cheat at my own game since I make the rules” His possessed voice carried through the stale air and as he spoke Belail snapped his wrist pointing his hellish blade downward so that tip was facing Uriel’s heart. His patience grew thin at the excitement of the deity’s demise and in a tempting deviant tone he called out to Maeva, “Ruin him! I wish to see the life drain from his eyes! I can't wait to taste what power you have left.” A horrifying glare glistened in Belail’s eyes and the zippered grin engulfed his expression. He had light the room for a reason, “I want you to know who it was that murdered you so make sure you get a good look!” His vile nature exposed itself even more as he indulged in Uriel’s unfortunate demise and all it took was one swift movement on Maeva’s part before Belail could finish him off.

It was a risky move to toil in a demon’s affairs especially ones with the dark god involved but he felt that it should be done as he tried to think of a plan that would save them all from further pain since a demon carried the ability to hold innocent souls for their slaves. “Candle I can only hope that you are lost and that you find your way back to your body. But to do that you have to be very careful because these demons won’t restrain themselves to inflict hurt upon you! I don’t want you to touch them in any way you understand? You see that statue?? I want you to hid behind it and manifest yourself so that you can let out the loudest scream possible…it might distract them long enough for me to remove the deity from under that she demon’s body and if anything happens to me I want you to return here and help the deity out of this place…can you do that?” He waited patiently for her response even though he knew it was robbing precious time.

Ariel ran her nails down her cheeks in as she felt her wing suddenly twist and turn on their own at the spell that Uriel was chanting and her screams grew loader while her yells along with Belail’s heart wrenching roars was drawing a crowd of guards to the front entrance of the temple. Her bones swiveled about matching up with each other like the last piece of a puzzle and she endured the unwelcome help from her forgotten friend. “Stop….don’t touch me you filthy creature…leave me be!” Not wanting anything to do with Uriel for she found it was him that was muttering the spell and she was almost relieved when Maeva had stopped him from finishing. The only problem now is that her partially infused bones were brittle and the slightest bump could send them snapping once more like a rotted tree falling to the forest floor.

The city guards stood out side the cathedral of their goddess they tried to open the large burly doors but with Belail’s incantation bracing the door shut they didn’t carry the chance to open it. Unlike those who were inside the guards were very aware of a priest who lived with in the temple walls and his life could be in danger. The priest had been quivering behind the statue the entire time afraid to move from the moment he sat eyes on Belail and he was almost certain that Maeva would have spotted him when she had settled down upon the statue. He watched Uriel being injured but he was too paralyzed with fear to jump out and lend a helping hand.

Oriax glared at her the moment she screamed out and without hesitation he slammed her head down heard enough to knock her unconscious. He snarled at her limp body that was now tossed over his right sholder, “I told you shut up you stupid bitch but since you lack the capacity I did it for you.” Irate that she had given his position away he looked about searching for a place to jump and he noticed the building next to him was several feet away a leap but that wouldn’t pose a problem for him. With a head start he began sprinting toward the edge and despite his uneven weight due to Candles doll like body flopping against his back he had reached the top of the distant roof and he prepared himself to do it to the next roof top.

Diomed the thief that Brogan had been speaking to followed behind him as they chased after Candle until the unknown woman had disappeared out of site with her. He stood clueless for only a moment until he heard the small girl’s familiar voice from the roof tops and with Brogan’s commands he answered, “You be careful if that is a demon then he could kill you…I will return with more men.” He then ran off to get more help.

Walking past the city gates Navi watched Du'an's demeanor change and she thought for sure she had upset him, "I'm sorry I didn't mean to insult your rocks...uhhh they are very beautiful...even though you didn't show them to me...they're very nice!" A large grin then caked across her face and she wrapped her arms around him thinking she was comforting him. It had been apparent that Du'an was going to need some help trying to get the idea of sex through her little naive mind. Her short attention span made it so difficult for him to finish his explanation that she might end up driving him mad for all the repeating Du'an would have to do. Once in the city her mind strayed off at new sites and smells which left her in awe and there was no way she would pay attention now. She then ran over to an open fruit stand pointing her finger at the Ventus manning the station and she forgot all about what Du'an had been trying to tell her. "Look Du'an what is this? Wow and what is that over there!" She was now wondering all over the place making it almost impossible to keep track of her.

Visions off hell scorched Abdiel's mind as he lay lifeless on the ground and no matter how hard his body tried to move it would not. Belail sat glaring down at his soul in his thoughts and his heart paced at the demon grabbing on to his body. Without letting go the dark lord began feeding on his helpless spirit. He could feel the lite leaving his body as Belail gorged on him and without being aware that Dara returned with help his body was already to give into death. He could barely hear their voices over the frightening screams that whirled in his thoughts even when Nirvana began to chant over his motionless body. His core shivered in cold sweats and with every word she chanted it was like tearing flesh open as the curse fought against her to save Abdiel's life. A black smog rose out from Abdiel depicting itself as death while the dark sorcery like many times before took on a life of it's own cursing at Nirvana when its empty sockets tried to embed into her soul. Abdiel's barely opened his eyes to see the the devilish looking spirit hovering over his very weak body and he would need time to recover.

Uriel didn’t hear Belail’s words as his head was quite suddenly filled with screams and sobbing, he didn’t know if any of it was his, but with the pain that suddenly burst from his heart throughout his entire body, his entire being, it very well could’ve been.
Maeva laughed as she stepped off of him, freeing him to roll to his side and curl into the fetal position while the dark crystal took effect over him. Her tail flicked happily as the sounds of his anguished screams echoed off the temple walls and ceiling. She lowered her head next to his ear and whispered, both in his ear and his head so that he’d know the truth she spoke, “You can thank your dear Lucis for that, Little Birdy, she made it all possible.”
She stepped away from him as he started to flail about wildly. The pain and terror over what was happening was too much for the deity and he trashed around as if that would help him escape it. His left hand clutched at his head while the right hung uselessly at his side, his right wing flapping wildly as the left twitched limply, trying, but unable, to do the same. He floundered about, scrambling to his feet then falling again as the uneven lift from one flapping wing knocked him over again. Looking, for all the world, like a dying bird with a broken wing.

Candle rolled her eyes at Caflice’s comment about finding her body again, adults obsession with life never ceased to amuse her, but instead of commenting on it she listened to his plan, knowing how important time was. He didn’t have to wait long on her answer as she nodded as soon as he was finished talking. She closed her eyes and concentrated, sending her soul back into the world of the living. When she opened her eyes she was floating behind the statue just behind the cringing priest, “Hello coward,” she said with all the sweetness of a happy little girl, “you might want to cover your ears.” With that warning and without waiting she opened her mouth and let out a wail that filled the entire temple and made the stone statue in front of her vibrate with the sound waves.

Maeva laughed as she watched Uriel writhe like a fish out of water, loving every moment of his anguish almost as much as she did the moments of lust with Belail. She turned her head and grinned viciously up at him, “You’re turn, my L--AGH,” Candle’s scream seemed to slam right into her brain. She cast her head about, looking for the source of the scream. It seemed to come from the statue itself and she immediately pushed away the thought that Lucis was in the stone, trying to help the man she’d loved.

Amaya glared at Ariel as she screamed at the pain of her wings healing. Between Belail’s roars and Ariel’s screams Amaya was starting to feel as if her ears were about to burst. She was about to do something about it when Belail removed the darkness in the temple and she was nearly blinded by the sudden light. Before her eyes adjusted Uriel had started to scream in pain and then suddenly there was this wail that felt as if her very soul was deafened by it. It was a scream that no living person could’ve produced, but at the same time seemed somehow familiar. She slammed her hands against her ears and looked around for the source of the noise.

“Quit talking and go,” Brogan told Diomed even thought the other thief was already leaving. He scrambled over the edge of the roof just in time to see Oriax knock Candle, or so he thought, unconscious. He snarled and took off after them, but Oriax had already jumped to the next roof. Brogan skidded to a stop at the edge of the roof with a growl, he wasn’t built for jumping. Instead he pulled a small knife from his belt and threw it at Oriax, a smug laugh escaped him as the knife dug into the pit of the demon’s knee, the perfect hit to disable him.

Du’an’s lips curved into a soft smile as he apologized and hugged him, “Those aren’t what I was calling beautiful, but thank you.” He chuckled as she ran off exploring the market, instead of trying to stop her he just kept walking down the street headed toward the temple while keeping an eye her. He rarely got a chance to answer her questions before she asked another but he did answer when he could. Eventually, as is a common practice with parents he found a vender selling treats and bought her a chewy candy covered fruit that would both make her happy and occupy her. He smiled as he handed it to her and said, “One of my favorites.”

Nirvana growled and a strange light radiated from her shielding her from the demon’s curses and attacks, thus defended she continued her spell, sweet beading her brow as she fought against the demon and she could soon feel her strength fading.
Dara watched aghast as the demon smog leaked from his friend’s body and then took the shape of death and attacked the woman. He felt rather useless, as if he should be helping, but he didn’t know what to do, he’d never even seen a demon before yesterday much less fought one off. Then he realized the woman was starting to sag with exhaustion and the light around her was starting to fade, so, ignoring the warning she’d given him before, he dashed around Abdiel and the demon and stood behind her, placing his hands on her shoulders he infused her body with energy, the very energy Uriel had given him earlier. She gasped at the divine energy and suddenly the light around her grew brighter and encompassed Dara as well as her power grew. The light pushed forward toward Abdiel, pushing against the demon that was devouring his soul.

An overwhelming feeling of pleasure stormed inside Belail’s wicked soul as Meava thrust the nasty shard of dark magic deep within Uriel’s innocent heart and the feeling became more intense at the vile reaction it was having on the pure deity’s essence. He could tell his words hadn’t gotten through to Uriel’s ears and in a dive his muscular legs knelt when his feet shattered the marble floor upon landing next to the deity’s broken body. Belail was unsympathetic to his enemy’s pain and he wrenched Uriel’s head up, digging his massive claws into the angelic skin of his rivals flesh just below his eyes. Belail then began mocking the deity of his earlier threats,“So valiant eagle it seems ironic that the snake has you by the head. What was that bull about me being your prey? Never mind. All that was just talk and now I will reap the benefits from your soul!” His eyes beamed with hatred that momentarily glared over at Ariel before leaning into Uriel’s ear, “And don’t worry about your little friend I will take good care of her…I’ll make sure she sucks my dick hard.” He then reared his demonic blade high in the air to finish his long awaited desire until his attention was interrupted by the shrieks of a small child. His head turned in the direction of the massive statue. His glare now traveled over to Maeva when he observered her move back sone, “It’s just a girl spirit hiding behind the statue along with some idiot in sheets! Handle it” It had given Caflice enough time to manifested over Uriel’s body and with all his strength he transported the deity to the strange dimension that he and Candle had been only seconds earlier. Belail had only took his eye of his victim for a second when his blade slammed down it hit only the hard surface. This had been the third and final time that Belail had been foiled in his attempts to destroy Uriel. He let out a revolting roar when he watch his plans fall to pieces by the very guard he had torn apart and he was now going to finish Caflice off, soul and all. Belail had reared his sword into the air after missing his last target and he swiftly swung it through Caflice's transparent aura. Like a pack of hungry wolves it consumed his essence not giving him the time of day to react but Caflice had predicted that it would come to this. He had gladly taken his lingering soul to save just one more person that would save many more in the future

The priest gasped at the sound of Candle’s youthful voice and found himself frightened by the ghostly apparition when she warned him to pin his ears shut but that all changed within an instant the moment she let out a ghastly shrill. She had chosen to pick the very same spot to start screaming where he was hiding and it was greatly unappreciated as he waved his hands with a shaking head while he whispered for her to stop, “Shhh…quiet your going to get me killed. Can’t you scream some where else?” His heart pounded hard in his chest he grew frantic by the fear of being discovered and it had become pointless to even attempt to cover the mouth of some little girl he couldn't even touch.

Oriax didn't even let out a roar in pain when the dagger hit his knee he cleaved it from his hard plated skin he turned and faced Brogan with the small blade in hand before chucking it back in the direction from which it had came. The dagger whistled through the air it spun out like a boomerang heading directly for the space between Brogan's eyes and without waiting to see if is aim was true Oriax leapt once more to the following roof. His jump this time was less then graceful as he almost slipped off the edge since the dagger had tore into several ligaments in his leg and one more hit like that could ruin his chances to escape with Ina.
It wasn't long before Diomed returned with a large band of thieves as they began to swarm the roof tops and close in on the slimy lizard that held Candle's body over his shoulders. Diomed signaled Brogan with a Varavi call to let him know that they were in position and if the beast tried to go any further they would stop him in his tracks.

Navi's eyes sparkled in amazement when Du'an handed her the treat for it had been a long time since anyone had gifted her with anything. Her face light up like the morning sun and she kindly accepted it before pressing the candy covered fruit against her lips. Sinking her teeth into the fruit and taking a bit she began to speak with her mouth full, "WOW thanks this is really really good...You want a bit too?" She then leaned her treat in near Du'an's face offering to share while she smiled with fruit pieces stuck in her teeth.

The curse that had once only started out as black magic was new breeding into an actual demon, it feed on Abdiel's soul and with every second it lingered it was becoming stronger with its attacks toward Nirvana. Thrusting its newly formed fist it shrilled out when it began to break her protective barrier down but never anticipating Dara's abilities until it was thrust upon with blinding light. Shielding it's deformed figure from the unpleasant illumination it finally gave into fleeing and shot into the air like arrow escaping a bow before streaming off in attempts to reach Belail himself. Abdiel lay motionless on the ground still and his breath was faint from his attack and his only hope was that they could get him to the doctor so that it could save his life.

Maeva laughed as she watched Uriel struggle in Belail's grip, watched the deity's blood drip down the demon's fingers. She grinned and nodded at Belail's orders and spun to obey, bounding to and around the statue.
Candle ended the scream and looked down at the priest, she got in his face and said, "You, coward of a Ventus, are not worth helping. By hiding behind the statue of your long dead god and allowing this to happen you are no better than Belail himself. He," she flung her arm to point in the general direction of Uriel, "on the other hand, is risking losing not only his life, but his soul for you and your other coward friends." She spun as Maeva, skidded around the statue and, with an adorable smile, vanished just before Maeva's claw swiped through her.
Maeva snarled as she failed to destroy the girl's soul before she escaped. She turned her attention on the priest, intending to take her anger out on him, she leapt at him, claws and teeth extended with an angry roar.

Uriel collapsed in the realm Caflice had moved him to. He burning searing pain had subsided to a dull, aching throb with every heart beat. Every beat of a heart now tainted and dark, broken once more. The physical pain may have subsided, but the emotional and mental he was sure never would and he wished he'd been left there to die. A failure he might've been but at least he wouldn't've had to live with it.

Brogan had been expecting Oriax to throw the knife back at him and he was able to throw his hand up to keep the blade from slamming into his head. He growled in pain as the blood from his hand splashed across his face. He lowered it in time to see Oriax struggling across the next roof and he grinned, knowing he'd done a lot of damage. His grin only widened as he heard Diomed's call and let out one in reply, the call spaced out to tell them that the prey was wounded and slowing. Ripping the knife out of his hand, Brogan ran forward, jumping off the roof and landing on a low wall, he ran across it, then jumped from the wall to a window balcony, then from there to the roof Oriax was on. "Let her go demon," Brogan growled threateningly.

Du'an smiled at her joy and when she offered him the treat he held his hand up and shook his head, "No thanks, I fear if I eat anything my stomach will reject it again. It's all for you." A bad feeling then crept over him and he furrowed his eyebrows and looked around worriedly. He quickened his pace towards the temple and saw soldiers trying to get in and he knew Belail, Uriel, and Ariel were within, but he had no clue what else was going on in there. He jogged over to a nearby soldier and asked, "Is there anything I can do to help?"

Both Dara and Nirvana collasped with startled cries as the demon-curse shot away from Abdiel. After a moment Nirvana shot Dara a look and asked, "Wh-who are you and where did you get that kind of power."
Dara had been staring at his hand, still not sure he believed that that came out of him and he looked at Nirvana with wide eyes and said, "I'm no one . . . I'm just a theif I don't . . . " he looked back at his hands, and took in a sharp breath then whispered, "He really was a deity."
"What? Speak up man."
Dara grinned at Nirvana, "It was a diety, I used up too much of my energy protecting me and him from some Nocturna and then when I woke up it felt, it felt like I'd been infused with light. And there was a man, and a woman, both of them were like nothing I'd ever seen, I didn't, I didn't want to believe it was true and get my hopes up but it is true, they're here."
Nirvana rolled her eyes, "Of course they're here, that's why I'm in such a hurry." The divine power in the energy that had been transfer from Dara to her explained she no longer had any reason to tarry and she got to her feet saying, "If you have enough energy left you should give him some so he can stay alive a bit longer. Get him on my svine and I'll get him to a doctor."
Dara nodded and didn't argue as he scrambled over to Abdiel, he placed a hand on his friend's chest and gave him as much energy as he dared knowing he still had to get back to the city. That done he and Nirvana had to work together to get him up on the svine, Dara barely keeping himself from jumping away everytime the beast moved, and then she swung up saying, "I'll drop him off in the first hospital I come across." With that she walked her svine to the road and then kicked it back into it's gallop as she took off to Ac'quida.
Dara watched him go as he trailed after them at a tired walk.

Oriax eye's pinpointed every thief that had him surrounded and the dark portal stone that Belail had given him need time to regenerate energy from his abusive use so he knew he could no longer form another rift to escape. Fresh blood dripped from his open wound where Brogan had injured him; he let out a protesting roar as he glared at the badger who leaped from building to build just to make it where Oriax was. He raised her dangling body in the air by the arm and pointed at her as he listened to Brogan's demands, "You mean this...she is not who you think she is that young girl's spirit no longer lives within this hallow temple but instead a Sanguis that is pretending to be her. Her name is not Candle as it is Ina traitor to my master but once he removes her from this girl you can have her body. You don't think that I would be hauling a little girl around for nothing if I didn't have a purpose and I wouldn't risk my life I wasn't sure of who she really is when I show her to Belail. If you let me show you that I am right maybe I can persuade him to summon her soul forth and back into her body since the dark lord carries both the ability of necromancy and revival of the dead.....so do we have a deal?" Oriax still unsure that telling the truth would matter as it was often that no one would ever trust his word unlike in his past life when he had been a deity. He kept his distance knowing that his only chance of proving his worthiness could be snatched up with a blink of an eye.

(I might add Ariel later I just didn't know what to right for her at the time.)
Navi smiled and placed the treat back into her mouth as she accepted Du’an’s response but soon found herself having to chase after him, “Hey don’t leave me….I can’t keep up with you Du'an there are to ….” Her voice became muffled as their distance grew when she was unable to push her tiny body through the crowd and within an instant she became separated from him in the overwhelming city. She then cried like a lost child without her mother but no one seemed to take notice of her and in her moment of terror she had remembered something her father had once told her, If you become separated from me just stay where you are at so that I can find you. She tried to soothe her fears as she saw a nearby bench Navi decided to sit and wait for Du’an to locate her while she finished off her delectable treat.
The soldier that Du’an had been speaking to had recognized him from the day before in their efforts to hold back the army of demons that had tried to advance on the city so Du’an’s response seemed almost welcome as if it were someone else they probably would have told him to buzz off. “I…I don’t know what you can do we don’t exactly have a plan except for to try and make our way inside that is as far as it has come to so if you have any idea where the Sergeant is that would be helpful.” He was blissfully unaware of Caflice’s fate as he asked he could hear several guards yelling in the background, “The door is finally starting to give in we just need a few more pushes before we can break it down.

It almost seemed unfair for Candle to turn the tables on the elderly priest as if she was the Adult and he was the fragile child being scolded for not making an effort. He had been wanting to help the entire time but knew he didn’t have the strength or speed to aid in the deity’s needs and it would have been a wasted effort as he would have never been able to get close enough to make a difference. His weary eyes glared down at the young spirit in a moment of calm knowing that he had not much time to live because the young girl didn’t respect those who had valued their lives so preciously. “Don’t you lecture me young babe you know nothing of me…you are a spirit invisible to the naked eye and are capable of gliding in the air unseen while I have aged greatly and I am as visible as stone. You carry no right to judge who I am and I have done more then you know…” His lecture was cut short at the sight of Meava veering around the statue as she missed her chance to strangle Candle’s soul he turned to try an evade the frightening demon that now had her eyes on him. Unable to run away from his attacker since his frail frame was not as sturdy as it used to be in his youth he attempted to make his way towards a hidden door on the far side of the temple that held a well guarded secret. It was a secret that he kept for generations and it would be a devastating blow to the ventus if Belail himself got his grimy hands on it. Belail rose off his bent knees his aim that was destined for Uriel had been wasted on some worthless spirit. In that moment of rage his nefarious essence discharged an ancient dark power, that shrouded the lit cathedral into utter darkness once more. It's purpose was not one for the consumption of light but the destruction of the temple itself. The earth quaked beneath their feet aand the polished white marble floor cracked open like the canals of a flooding river. The beautifully robust columns that lined the walls fractured at the weight of the collapsing arched ceiling. Heavy stones came crashing down destroying everything in its path including the idolized statue of the Ventus’s beloved goddess which only added to the debris that filled this once immaculate temple. Even the humble priest seemed to be unable to flee from the diminishing stone in the middle of his efforts to escape Maeva a heavy portion of the rubble knocked him on his back bearing down its weight on his trapped lower limbs. It had been time to face his fears in the hour of his demise and with brave words he spoke with great wisdom towards the murderous she devil, “You may rip my body and devour my soul but you will never have my spirit demon and I pray that the power of Lucis strikes you down…” His eyes then widen for a short window of time when her face seemed familiar and in disbelief he uttered her name, “Maeva??…but I have seen you pray next to our good king Af how can this be so?” A ghastly roar escaped Belail’s lips as it filled every corner of the crumbling sanctuary and with a final thrust of his blade that sunk deep into the stone floor there came a sudden burst of silence. All the vicious power reverted back into his hallowed out soul. It seemed that his destructive nature had subsided but it had only been the calm before the storm. With both hands settled on the handle of his blade that silence had been interrupted by the guards as they finally splintered the heavy oak doors open. They stood in awe at the dilapidated church as it fell to ruins unsure of what their next move might be their attention became focused on the dark lord himself. With one knee touching the ground in a knighting position Belail’s head remained lowered with a malevolent laugh that barely echoed within the shambled temple. His gaze slowly met up with small band of guards. “So nice of you to join us…it is so good to have company! I will see that you are tended to once my lust finishes up with our last guest but until then please enjoy the spectacle as it will be your last.” His possessed voice was enough to send the guards fleeing for their lives amd they started to take several steps back by the threat they had just received. An uneasy feeling overwhelmed their very souls while a black and violet mist boiled over like a witch’s cauldron from his piercing eyes and nostrils. His sorcery was nearing itself to rupture from his deviant core. The hellish curse that had been lifted from Abdiel's body was the final ball of energy he needed to light the flame to this new order of hell. It was like someone had placed their finger in a pond and his power rippled out like a massive explosion over the vast city. A heavy wind thrust out with such lethal amount of force that the few soldiers that had been standing there were now nothing but a pile of disfigured bloody organs. The others that had survived his god fearing power had realized the light that had separated them from the Sanguis had been robbed from their souls. A gift that had been so generously given by Lucis herself so long ago had been nothing but a faint memory to those who no longer felt their freedom from the dark lord. His power had not yet taken a hold of every Ventus but he would make sure that it did and with a streamline of power shooting up like a bolt of lighting. It began to form a sphere over Ac'quida like a prison giving those with a wit about them time to try and make their escape.

The passed out body of Abdiel bounced lightly against the back of Nirvana's svine as she closed near the city of Ac'quida a mumble rambled out of his mouth and yet that voice belonged not to him, "Nirvana my child veer away from this tainted city and bring the injured to me it is no longer safe to dwell within those walls." It was familiar voice that she should know well it belonged to her grandmother Lilura and head elder of their small village. Lilura's presence left her granddaughter's side as she turned her attention to her grandson knowing Du'an's position and strength to overcome Belail's dark power. She knew he would be safe for the time being as long as he didn't remain there for a great amount of time. It was like she was standing at his side she began whispering in his ear telling him of something she knew the priest had, "Du'an I need you to retrieve something for me that has grave importance that resides within the temple ruins and I know that you are fighter but once you retrieve this I want you to leave this place as soon as possible. Behind the last standing pillar is a shattered door that holds a small box covered in ivory and gold take it. Then return it to me but promise me you will not loose it's contents." She knew he needed to be swift so not to arouse the attention of the distracted demon and that he had but a small window to leave the city before being trapped.

Oriax was right because as soon as he finished speaking Brogan growled, “A deal? I do not make deals with demons, even if you were telling the truth. I know for a fact that Belail enjoys the blood of children and that you demons and Sanguis bring him sacrifices all the time in your twisted worship. So no, we do not have a deal.” He transferred the knife, dripping with both his and Oriax’s blood, into his wounded hand and drew a short sword with the other. “Let her go demon, and we might let you live.”
(hey, u think something should happen to Brogan since his blood has mingled with Oriax’s?)

In his sudden worry over Uriel and Ariel Du’an had forgotten that Navi had never been to the city before, it was an easy mistake, even most of the members of his village on the other side of the mountains had been to the city, and he’d never had to watch over another person before. He listened to the soldier, recognizing him as well, but only barely, and shook his head, “Last time I saw him was just before the battle yesterday and then only for a moment.” He looked at the door, he new a little alchemy but mostly only how to use it to help Uriel, a skilled alchemist would be able to remove the door within a matter of seconds and he cursed himself for spending more time on learning how to fight than on what now seemed much more important at this moment. “Alright then, a few more pushes well have to give it, but be ready to fight as soon as it opens, whatever’s keeping the door closed will be surely dangerous.” He stepped forward and added his strength to that of the other soldiers.

Maeva chuckled as the priest ran from her and she shifted from her tiger form to her humanoid form as she stalked after him. She might have been pissed about loosing Candle, but the priest was now placating her by giving her something to hunt, which she enjoyed almost as much as the killing itself. She smirked as the rubble knocked him to the ground, slightly annoyed that her prey was immobilized, but more amused as that helplessness generally always caused them more fear. She smiled as she walked over and knelt by him, baring her perfect, white teeth in a morbid smile as cursed her with Lucis’s name. “Lucis? Do you not realize that she’s dead? That she has been for quite some time?” She shook her head in a pitying manner, then laughed as he recognized her. “How? Because the Ventus, as a collective, are stupid. I’ve been integrating myself into your system since I was but a child, and only one has ever suspected me, and he died a wonderfully painful death today. Every time I had to pray in this stupid temple it was so hard to not just reveal myself and rip every one of you to pieces, but the torture not doing so caused me was nothing compared to the joy of having every thing I’ve ever wanted come to fruition. Every prayer I sent from this cursed place was to a true god. A god that no deity can ever hope to kill. A god that had killed not only your precious Lucis, but hundreds others, and even tainted many to do his will.” She laughed again as she heard Belail talking to the guards, “Enough talk, you’re lucky I’m in a hurry.” She placed her hands on his chest and whispered, “Pray priest, pray to your dead god for help, call for her to strike me down, and know that no amount of worship can rouse a deity that has been destroyed body and soul.” Then she dug her fingers into his chest, digging them between his ribs, her nails just scraping his heart before she curled her fingers in a tight grip around his ribs and, with a strength no woman and only the strongest of men should possess, pulled, slowly. She could’ve ripped him apart in an instant, but where would the fun be in that? So it was nearly a minute of pops and tears before his rib cage ripped free of his sternum and exposed his still beating heart and pumping lungs. She release his ribs and, before his life slipped away, pulled his heart out and ate it before his eyes. She snickered as she licked her fingers, then shifted back into her tiger form so that none of the soldiers would recognize her in case one escaped, she would wait and see if Belail wanted her to reveal herself or remain a secret.

Du’an, more out of curiosity than fear, stepped away from helping the soldiers as the temple started to shake and he retreated to the other side of the road to get a better view of what was happening, as such he was not among them when they broke the door and ran in. Nevertheless as he saw them rush through the new opening he drew his sword and dashed forward but before he got half way across the street. A voice entered his head and, being as he was on the road more often that not, it took him a minute to realize it was his great-grandmother. He froze as he listened to her instructions and, despite desperately wanting to aid the soldiers he knew that his task was more important and he reluctantly sheathed his sword, replying, Understood Elda, using the honorific of his village for one of great wisdom and respect, instead of a less formal reply, being as he was never around he had gotten to know her more as an elder than a grandmother, which was neither of their faults as he was often sent on missions by the elders, but also preferred being away from people anyway.
He dashed towards the nearest soldier as the strange bolt of power flew into the air and grabbed his arm to stop him. “Don’t fight,” he said in a commanding tone, despite being both younger and smaller than the trained warrior, “don’t try to win now, it’s hopeless. Honor and glory have no place now, get every soldier you can and then get them to get every citizen out of the city now. Don’t be foolish, we can’t win here, get people out and live to fight when the time is right.” Hoping the soldier would heed his words he spun on his heel and dashed around the temple following his grandmother’s instructions.
§
Not that she needed to, but just to strike a little more fear into the guards, Maeva sunk her teeth into the priest's throat and, as a tiger drags its prey to a better place to eat, dragged the priest to Belail’s side and dropped it in plain sight of the men. Purring excitedly she rubbed against Belail's back and curled around to his shoulder, then she grinned at the soldiers, exposing long, sharp teeth, capable of piercing both flesh and bone and crushing each, then slowly turned her head and looked pointedly at the body of Caflice that had been transported with them, jaw-less, bloody, and genitals still exposed. Her chuckle, deep and throaty, the very essence of evil, seemed to have no source as it filled the ruins of the temple.

Du’an skidded around the corner, remaining outside the broken walls so as to keep hidden, until he got around to the back where it was less destroyed. Slipping into an door, unhinged by the shaking building, he dashed through the back rooms of the temple until he came into the auditorium, where he slowed, both to avoid falling over the rubble and to remain as quiet as possible as he moved around behind the demon and his mate.
He scrambled over the fallen chucks of ceiling and wall towards the last standing pillar and the door he could see behind it.
Suddenly his foot hit something slippery and he lost his footing and fell on his butt, biting the inside of his cheek to keep from yelling in surprise. To his horror he realized he’d fallen in a pool of blood, broken ribs and a few organs. He nearly vomited, probably would have if he’d had anything on his stomach.
His eyes followed the trail of blood till he saw Maeva and Belail and he shuddered at the body of the priest. Eager to leave he lurched to his feet once more and finished his mad dash to the door, trying to ignore the blood now dripping down his legs and hands. Wiping his hands on the front of his leather pants, he reached the door and ran inside. Not stopping to admire the room in any way he dashed forward and grabbed the box and looked around for an exit other than the one he’d used to get in but he didn't want to take the time for a thorough search so he spun around and snuck back out the door. He stuck just his head out to make sure they weren't looking then snuck out, closing the door silently behind him. As he turned to leave a flash caught his eye and he turned to look back at it. At first he saw nothing other than Belail and Maeva, the soldiers and lots of blood, but then there was another flash as he moved as the light from the sun now coming through where the roof once was and then he realized it was a sword, then he quickly realized it was Ariel's as no Ventus made blade was that perfect. Du'an swore silently in his mind as he shuffled through several plans, and decided to be stupid for a minute. The sword was closer to him than to the demons, but still he had to go towards them to get it. So, knowing it was reckless and a bad idea, and hoping that none of the soldiers gave him away, he crept forward as fast as he could while still remaining very quiet. At long last he finally reached it, it was surrounded in the remains of a giant hand and Du'an shuddered knowing it was Lucis's statue, but he ignored that and grabbed the sword by the hilt and slowly picked it up so that the ruble around it didn't move to much. He looked up as he freed the sword to make sure neither Belail or Maeva had noticed him, and to his relief neither of them had. Then, from his new vantage point, he saw Ariel. Across the cathedral he did not recognize her for who she was, although he felt a strange sense of familiarity towards her, but he'd never met someone so . . . marble-like in appearance. Then, shaking his head to force himself to ignore her, thinking she was just another Sanguis, he turned and ran back the way he'd come.

Nirvana was only slightly startled to hear her great-grandmother’s voice coming out of Abdiel’s mouth, but she quickly understood as she yanked her svine’s reigns, pulling it around in a sharp circle before she’d finished speaking, “Yes, grandmother,” she said, holding on to Abdeil so that he did not fall off her svine at the sharp turn, “I am on my way.” Kicking her svine to get it to stop fussing and run, she looked over her shoulder towards the city, hoping her brother was okay and could get out. From her vantage point, a hillside higher than the city walls, she saw the temple crumble with a large cloud of dust and shortly thereafter Belail’s magic shoot out of the ruins. It was only by extreme self-control she didn’t wheel her svine about and finish her journey to the city, forcing herself to trust her brother’s strange ability to survive where few other’s could, and to trust his better than average ability with a blade. Tearing her eyes away from the city she sent up a silent prayer for her brother as she kicked her svine to even greater speeds.

Dara was walking quickly down the road, he wanted badly to run, but he’d given most his energy to Nirvana and Abdeil and knew he didn’t have the ability to go all the way there, but then, even to his ears and at that distance, he could hear the sounds of destruction and he looked towards the city as the temple collapsed. A burst of adrenaline shot through him as he thought of his wife and son, he turned and sprinted off the road and directly towards the city, dashing headlong down the hill, almost falling and breaking his neck several times. His speed somehow increased as he saw the bolt of power and he ran, heedless of the branches pulling at his clothes and scratching his face. He reached the bottom of the hill so suddenly that he nearly fell on his face as the land flattened out all at once, but he managed to maintain his footing and sprinted towards the wall that was now very close, angling to the right a bit. Soon he saw the nearly invisible hole that had somehow cracked through the wall. Not slowing as he ran in, then immediately pointed himself in the direction of the shelters, hoping they’d stayed or that they were already out of the city. About half way he rounded a building and collided with someone, driving the breath out of him as they both fell back to the ground. Colors danced in front of his eyes as he shook his head and got to his feet, with a hasty apology he jumped to his feet and tried to run around them but a hand caught his wrist and he growled and turned back to the person restraining him from helping his family, his growl died as he saw his wife standing up and they embraced each other then he said, “Good, you’re okay, where’s Kleptein?”
She grimaced and said, “Diomed came in looking for help saying something about a demon having Candle, I tried to make him stay, but you know how everyone loves her, and he wasn’t about to even almost let the demon go with her. So he took off with a bunch others.”
Dara sighed and swore then said, “Kyra, get out of the city, now, I’ll go get Kleptein.”
“Where did you think I was going knuckle head,” she asked gesturing to the group of children and older people that he recognized from their group that he hadn’t noticed till now. “Not many of the others are running through the back streets right now.”
Dara smiled as he realized she was helping all that she could get out and said, “Just go quickly please, I’ll find you later, I love you.”
“I love you too,” they kissed again and then took off in opposite directions. Dara frowning as he looked everywhere for his son.

Candle shuddered as she left the world of the living and returned to the world between. Despite not knowing him for more than a few seconds and the fact that he was a soldier she couldn’t help but shed a couple tears at Caflice's fate, she knew he deserved so much better than that and she then resolved to help release him from Belail’s grasp. Gathering herself, she turned and looked to where Uriel lay. He was face down, and appeared dead and she feared they had been too late. She moved closer to him and reached out to touch him but before her hand reached him his right wing thrashed out at her as if to push her away, but she was insubstantial and his wing passed right through her. “Leave me be or kill me spirit.” Candle winced at the pain, anger, sorrow, and most of all fear, incapacitating fear, in his voice, but she didn’t leave. After a moment Uriel let out a sobbing growl and repeated, “Leave me be or kill me, but do not pity me, for it was you who left me in this state when you could’ve let me die.”
“No Uriel,” she said surprised she knew his name, “I could’ve never let you die, the fate of Ac'quida, and of all the world rests with you. You must rise and continue your fight.”
A few tears slipped down her cheeks as she watched his body start to shake, “To what end? I have failed, I could not kill him when he was at his weakest, now he grows stronger with every minute while I remain incapable of even keeping hold of a sword. No, I am not the answer you seek. I say it again, leave me be or kill me.”

Oriax’s malicious grin was soon wiped clean like chalk on a slate and with a furrowing brow he gritted his teeth when Brogan denied his proposal, “You’re a fool for not taking me up on my offer and you would rather have some Sanguis possess this girl’s body rather then her own soul.” He paused only for a moment in his speech as he thought it bizarre to hear Brogan speak of his master’s strange order since once so long ago they were apart of that. “ Tsk Tsk don’t forget your origins they derive from the dark lord himself…it was he who gave your ancestor’s breath not Lucis and you wonder why he is so pissed off all the time because a small group Sanguis disliked that they had to serve their master then only turning to some light god that had no business in this realm” He was reluctant to hand over Candle’s limb body but as he neared the edge to jump the building they were standing on shook violently and Oriax could see the band of light streak into the air sending shivers down his spine as he knew it was his master. “Your threats don’t frighten me I would rather face a whole mob of you before confronting my master’s wrath for not bringing Ina at his heels.” Just as his last word was winded out of his mouth the home beneath their feet was deteriorating at the rapid speed of Belail’s dark magic. Its weight shifted knocking Oriax off the edge as he dropped Candle on the roof top near his dangling body as he held on to the side. It was a long drop to the ground and with Oriax hanging on for life a different tone of voice slipped out past his lips with a helpless expression that replaced his hateful one while he glared up at Brogan, “Save me…don’t let me fall again!” He begged as he was blissfully unaware to what it really meant while in the back of his thoughts were referring to his horrid fate he had once had with Belail when he was a deity.

Though Navi was frightened by the changes that were happening around her she remained seated on the bench as she watched several people just stand still like stiff cadavers. The hellish mist had seeped into several Ventus’s souls thieving their light and giving them no freedom to run but oddly it was not affecting Navi but her little innocent mind didn’t conceive what was going on. It felt as if she was sitting among the dead as very few were flee for their lives now and she had a gut feeling to follow but she didn’t feel safe traveling without Du’an. Her tears then began streaming down her soft rosy cheeks that had all the resilience of light that many of the Ventus were lacking as she was unaware that she had the ability to give it back to them. Her cries grew loud as she wanted Du’an’s comfort but he was no where to be seen she would soon attract some unwelcome company that had tried to murder her once so long ago.
§
The priest struggled from under the heavy arched ceiling that had landed over his legs as he cried out in pain and terror at the sight of Maeva nearing his meek body. He feared greatly that he had failed to keep the hidden piece of Calx a secret and that Belail would find it soon enough but he had done all he could throughout his life that their was nothing left he could have do. The cleric had did what she so demanded him to do as his last hours were drawing near and that was pray to his lost god while he retained a strange sense that she was alive in some other way and he smiled for a brief moment as he quietly muttered to himself. He listen to her blaspheming their preciously loved goddess and it was clearly written on his face that she was tugging on his emotions. For the past hundred and somewhat years of his life had been dedicated to serving her but finding the courage at the last moments of placing her hands on his chest he whispered back, “She is not dead for she lives through all of us and as long as that power remains she will always live no matter what you do…” His words then turned to painful howls as she severed every bone and muscle in his chest just to reach his heart and with the black clouding his vision the last moments of his life were lived watching Maeva feast upon his heart like the vile snake she had always been.

§
Belail’s ears perked at the sound of the priest’s body dropping into a puddle of his own blood just as he felt Meava’s silky pelt brush along his bare back. His flesh quivered at her slightest touching and her spiteful presence only added to his depraved emotions. His hypnotizing gaze met up with hers with his chin crossed over his left shoulder tracing her luscious curves, whiffing in her body’s natural perfumes. His filthy tongue wagging out perversions, "Oh how none know who died at our hands have been given such an easy release. For those who fall to my pestilence will die a slow and painful death. Their bodies rotting in heaps spreading my curse to all who betray me and atop the hoard of corpses will be yours and my copulating bodies. An endless feast for our new reign is nigh and all spawn either by hand or birth will shutter in fear before us." He turned slowly to face his desire with a disdaining grin on his face that would only be alarming to others but a welcoming expression to his lust. He watched the once vibrant city lose its luster and returning back to the once dull dead realm he had left it in before his imprisonment. Although he knew that a small portion of this dank color only spread to the city walls it was a much received feeling that reminded him of how life had been once before. His finger nails skid off the hilt of his sword that was still wedged in between the cracks of the marble floor just before gliding his ruff hand down the side of her cheek. Drawing blood his claws scarcely grazed over her flesh running his wet tongue against the grain of her fur. “You have awaken a deeper desire of iniquity that is far worse then I once held! Look around my lust this hell is as much as yours as it is mine but only if you remain at my side. This is only the beginning there is far more work to be done.” He gazed upon the priest bloody body laughing at the spectacle it amused him that the deity he worshiped so much was unable to aid him in his time of need. He swirled his finger in the gaping hole in the priest chest where his heart had once been and he continued to indulge himself in her presence, “Ever wonder what a priest of Lucis taste like?” He snarled sarcastically with his large upper canine snagging his lower lip in a crocked grin. He pressed his index finger against Maeva’s lips and began rolling it along the opening of her mouth. Too focused on Meava and his dirty deeds that he failed to notice Du’an passing right by them undetected but his senses never failing him Belail could feel a change shifting near and the sensation seemed so familiar. His head lifted at the sight of a blur just as Du’an turned the corner of the hidden passage and his attention shifted about searching for what he might have seen as his upper lip curled with a corrupt growl. He didn’t like others sneaking about and his instincts told him to remained focused. However something else seemed to cause Belail to turn towards the opening of the shattered ruins where the helpless guards stood like the once erected statue of Lucis. He had an excitement boil over at the voice of the murdered deity’s child, “It can’t be but it must be...” He salivated at the thought of devouring a young deity and he couldn’t hold back the urge to satisfy his taste for the light gods blood, “She has been here the entire time and I have been passing by my long awaited sacrifice!”
§
The soldier that Dua’n had rested his hands on didn’t budge from where he and the other’s were standing as if they were caught in sleepless trance and without response they stood in horror unable to run from the dark demon while gazing upon the bloody mess of both the priest and Caflice’s corpse tears streamed down their face like a stone cherub posing in the rain at the repulsive sight. To make it far more worse Maeva dragged the body of the poor priest from under the heavy debris around the room like a trophy. They wanted to cover their Sergent's body and hid him from the disrespectful position that the demon's had left him in but all their freedom had been lost as all they could only wait and do what the dark lord ordered them.

§

Ariel got to her feet slowly after the long torture of her bones twisting back in place had come to a halt and the brittle place where they had healed flexed in an unnatural way. She was unsure how she had managed to escape the collapsing debris from the temple but that no longer mattered as she walked over to Caflice’s mangled body while kneeling down she began to strip his armor off just to get to his under garments so that she could make bandages for her wings. The changes she had been facing were coming into play and the caring feeling for other’s slowly was stripped away as she used the Sergeant’s naked corpse like a cushion. She bound her wings tight in the long strips of fabric and just as she finished her attention locked on to Du’an. She sat quietly for a moment as she watched him reach for the well crafted sword and once it was in his grasp something snapped in her as they made eye contact. She let out a horrid scream as she lunged towards him giving away his position with eyes now black as coal, “THAT’S MINE….give it back!” She demand as the tips of her fingers scratched the surface of his face she fought for the blade while trying to yank the handle from his grasp.
§
Belail began to take a few steps forward to mollify his thirst and finish off what he had started on that fateful day with Lucis. Yet Ariel’s screaming like a banshee adverted his plans and jerking his body around to see what the fuss was about he noticed his intruder. He waved his hands at his new slaves that had once been the city guards but now taking the demon’s commands they obstructed Du’an’s exit. Cleaving his blade from the floor he strutted slowly over towards the two who were fighting over the weapon and with great pleasure he announced who she was along with a demand, “Ariel let that dull blade go it is a piece of shit!” She then released it from her clutches while looking down at her prize and she noticed the blade had suddenly lost it’s sheen. Belail had ruined what it had once represented with fragmented dull edges and copper rust lining its flat surface the glorified sword carried the appearance of being overly abused by a heavy knight. With Ariel out of the way he concentrated on Du’an who had been cleaver enough to slip past his surveillance, “I thought I felt a familiar curse…hmmm let me guess your name is…Du’an… you don’t plan on fighting me with that worthless piece of junk do you?” He questioned him in a toying demeanor dragging the tip of his blade along the stone floor with it screeching all the while like nails on a chalkboard. Leaning in his gaze locked with Du’an just as he observed the box with the piece of Calx and without mention a word his mind intertwined with Maeva, “That pretty little jewelry box spells the end of our rule if he escapes with it. A simple task one that should be no problem for you to fulfill. With his focus upon me slink to his backside and thieve it from his grasp!” Still curious if his curse had kept a strong hold on Du’an’s kind Belail stopped only a few feet away he glided his jagged nail deep into the flesh of his arm just to witness if Du’an felt any of his pain. “That feels divine don’t you think so?” He laughed out in anticipation to the reaction he might get from Du’an. “You ever conceive as to why your tribe was cursed? What causes your aching body to burn like a candle at both ends? How your ancestor's betrayal caused me such agony and then to go even further by denying me as your master! You turn to a divine who couldn't even protect his bitch let alone himself! Give me me one reason to sway my decision. Deny Uriel as your master and kneel to me once more! Prove your worth and I will relieve you of this curse. Convince those of your same blood and they too will reap the reward.” His voice recoiled more then usually and his gaze burdened an ominous future for Du’an using the same dark incantation that he had used on so many before him.
§
Af couldn't believe that this was happening and with Caflice never returning to his side he knew that he had to be dead and without wasting another second he ran down to his study to retrieve the Blade of Belail but to his amazement it was gone, "NO this can not be...how could of he gotten past all my guards!" He only stood there for an instant knowing it did him do good to dwell on the matter and leaving with out the important element in hand he gathered the rest of the items that he would be taking out of the city as he began feeling the effects that had cursed his beloved home. He wanted to go after Maeva but knowing there wouldn't be enough time left along with a few others down a secret passage that could lead them out of the city safely. He could only pray that where ever Maeva was at now was a safe one.

Kabol's breathing had slowed and he gotten the gull to finally peer out from the tall grass where he had been hiding after waiting for the long anticipation of Uriel's light searing him never came. "That's it I officially hate Maeva for just dumping me off like a fresh shit!! I knew this was going to happen...the moment I get her what she wants she suddenly can't been seen hanging out with a rat well I have had it and I am through with that stuuupid Bitch!" His arms flung back just as his head swung forward cursing his master's name it was almost knocked off by a passing Svine and without hesitating to hold his tongue he yelled out at the rider. "Hey you fucking slut watch where your going!" He the casted a quick spell the charged through the body of the passing stranger that carried a limp cougar man on the hind quarter's of the svine. He didn't expect much of a reaction as it hit the cloaked female besides her crying but he underestimated Nirvana.

Brogan growled, "I have no special love for Belail nor Lucis, Demon, I do not care about my origins and I do not care what Belail might do to you. I do however care about that girl and I will not let you take her. I--" his words stopped as the building started to collapse under them and he smirked as Oriax dropped Candle and dashed forward to retrieve her but before he took two steps Oriax cried out in a voice not his own and Brogan froze. Normally he wouldn't've even twitched, even with the pleading tone, but something about it caught him and the wound in his hand where he'd stopped the knife from braining him started to pulsate, it wasn't an altogether unpleasant sensation, but it caused Brogan quite a bit of confusion as he dropped the knife and looked at his hand, then he locked eyes with Oriax for just a moment before memories that were not his own began to flash through his mind and he squinted his eyes shut and grabbed his head trying to comprehend . . .
He didn't notice as one of the thieves gathered around dashed forward, he could've been no older than fourteen or fifteen. Brogan didn't hear him growl, "Pull it together Brogan," as he swooped to snatch up Candle's body then took the path Brogan had used to get on the building, to get the two of them down before it collapsed.

It had been a long and unimaginable battle as Eae had been broken down by the dark lord as he fought to save his life from Belail's undying taste for deity's blood. Standing on the high towers of Belail's castle the demon tore his many wings from their sockets and a blood curdling cry wrenched from Eae's lips as he lost his last hope of escaping. "Stare into my hollow eyes and become lost in my mind to never return again." Belail's words danced in his ears as he backed away from the black devil but never paying attention to his footing he slipped of the slender edge but catching his fingers on the roofs edging. He was left with no choice but to glare into the demon's eyes as Belail slammed his jagged nail's into the flesh of his hand and forcing his gaze upon Eae just as he glided his thick stinger that protruded from his tail in between the disks of the deity's back and within that moment he lost everything he once was.
§
Brogan shook his head as the strange vision cleared and left him dizzy as he found himself staring down at Oriax once more instead of looking up at Belail. A confusion filled his expression as the memories clung to him even as Oriax was now clinging to the roof in front of him. He dropped to his knees and grabbed his wrist saying in a disbelieving manner, "Eae?"

Kyra and the group she was leading had to run across a main street to get to the hole and as they did she caught sight of Navi sitting alone on a bench looking around and crying. She looked back at her group, a few of them had already fallen to Belail's dark magics and she could see the life waning from a couple others, and even herself feeling darker, like the hope and joy of the world was fading out of her. She instructed the youngest of the older men where to go and turned away from them as they ran across the street and towards the nearby wall where Dara had entered the city.
Kyra watched them go over her shoulder till they rounded a corner and went out of sight, then she ran over to Navi. Bending her knees so that they were at eye level she, with all the kindness and calmness that only a mother could have, took Navi's hand and said, "Why are sitting here dear? You need to be getting out of the city as fast as you can." She reached up and brushed a few of Navi's tears away with her thumb. "Come on now," she stood up, keeping hold of Navi's hand, "Let's go."

Maeva purred as Belail spoke dirty to her and she turned from the soldiers and smiled at him, baring her long canines, and replied, "Always Love. I love the taste of your flesh." She looked around at the lackluster city and shivered with excitement, it had always been too bright to her. Another shudder ran through her as Belail's claws split the flesh on her cheek and her large tongue ran over her fangs as she chuckled and felt the familiar burn in her loins return as she replied to his praise in a seductive tone, "But of course, My King, it's why I knew I was destined to rule by your side. I will be forever your faithful servant. You are my only god." She watched him depredate the priest's body and and then wrapped her tongue around his finger, her barbed tongue scraping the skin raw and she replied, "Not as good as you, Love." Her ears flattened as he growled and she started to turn around and stalk towards whatever he'd seen before he stopped and started talking about a sacrifice and she looked back at him curiously, having no clue what he was talking about.
§
Du'an was sure he'd gotten free, but then Ariel's screech hit him just before she did and he didn't have time to react. He winced as Ariel's fingernails carved bloody gouges in his face. He attempted to shove her away and run, but Belail had noticed him and blocked off his exit. He swore at himself for being so stupid as to go for the sword. Hearing Belail's command to Ariel he didn't believe it was her, couldn't believe until she released him and the sword and he got a look at her face. His heart sank as things started to seem utterly hopeless in that moment, if Belail could turn even Ariel into his slave, Ariel who'd been so strong and passionate, so absolute in her hatred of Belail, what chance did the rest of them have against him. But then whatever hope he'd lost was quickly replaced by seething rage and he glared at Belail. "No demon," he replied, dropping the ruined sword at Belail's feet, not even twitching at the horrid sound Belail's own sword made as it slid across the ground, "I don't plan on fighting you at all, we both know I wouldn't last more than a few seconds against you." He took a step backwards as Belail drew near, getting closer to the box he'd dropped when Ariel had attacked him, but not taking his eyes away from the demon, hoping he hadn't noticed it. Knowing what Belail was about to do, Du'an prepared for it, he was able to keep himself from making any noise of pain, but he couldn't help the grimace that crossed his face and the spasm of his arm muscles.
Maeva noticed this and she grinned and stalked over behind Belail. Pushing her shoulders up putting and all her weight on her back feet she rested her fore claws on Belail's shoulders and said as her claws dug into his shoulders, "Oh I'm sure it feels positively innnvigggggorrrraatttinggggg," she drew the word out as she pulled her claws down Belail's back as a cat pulls it claws down a wooden post to sharpen them, ripping skin off muscle and muscle off bone.
This Du'an could not prepare for and his back arched as he screamed in anguish and dropped to his knees, his vision wavering, his body shaking.
That'll distract him, Maeva sent back with a laugh as she licked some of the blood off Belail's back causing them both more pain as she moved away from him, knowing the only thing Du'an could see at the moment was the floor he was staring at. Ooh what a fun little toy he's going to be, Maeva thought maliciously.
"No," Du'an gasped, "I would . . . rather the pain. . . . That I can handle. Serving you would hurt much more.” He spat at Belail’s feet then yelled, “Pugna!" and as he picked his hands up off the ground his palms glowed with a brilliant blue radiance that outlined an array that hadn't been there before. He spun around and grabbed the box, not realizing how close Maeva was, her surprised face right in his as she reached for the box, he fell backwards in dismay, but kept the box in his grasp as it glowed a brilliant blue. Du'an grinned as it vanished and said triumphantly, "Do what you will to me demon, but you will not get that box and with it a way to destroy you will be found." Grandmother! he cried out in his mind, the fear he felt now was more evident in his thoughts than his speech. He hoped she would hear him, he didn't have the skill himself to send his thoughts to another so he hoped she was listening for him and would hear him as he sent, I’m not sure I will get out of this, tell Nirvana the box is arrayed within the ancients. He worded it as such in case Belail could hear him and he knew his sister would know his meaning.

Nirvana snarled as her svine bolted to the side as someone yelled at her and she wasn't able to grab hold of Abdeil fast enough to keep him from slipping off. She swore as she yanked on her svine's reigns, hauling it to a stop, then spun about as she dropped off it's back. "You better watch who you're calling a slut, flea bag," she growled throwing her hand out at him, she said no words of power but ball of white fire flew at his face from her hand flying faster than an arrow towards his head.
It wasn't an all powerful attack, but it was a habit of her's to give her opponent an opportunity to flee before she killed them.

Oriax’s claws on his hind legs scrapped at the collapsing building’s mortar and he was slowly loosing his grip wnen it began to concave within itself. His breath heavy from fear he looked up at Brogan’s extended hand and with his true name escaping the thief’s lips a pale image of his former self ghosted through but it was different, something not the same. Eae looked nothing like his angelic being a ghastly rotted corpse with gouged sockets and shriveled wings seemed to pierce Brogan’s very soul that burdened a grave sorrow. This part of him had been lost forever left behind in Belail’s vast emptiness he called a soul and the only thing remaining was the demon know as Oriax. But for only in that second he acted differently at that name shaking his head as to suddenly deny Brogan’s offer because in that moment it only took one person to have faith in him once more to realize who he was. The building then snapped down the middle and in the deity’s last living moments as a demon he grabbed Brogan by the hand and tossed him over like a rag doll into the adjacent balcony just before he was smothered beneath the rubble. Brogan had done something no one else had ever been able to do in Oriax’s entire life and that was to give him peace and it only seemed fair that he should save his life.

A strange glow radiated from Navi’s form like a soft light brimming off a nova in the midnight sky, the thick fog of Belai’s dark sorcery became more prominent and revealing her wondrous gift. However it was never noticed and she listened to the strange woman trying to comfort her weeping worries, “I lost my friend and I’m waiting for him…” She enjoyed her tender touch for it reminded her of what her father would have done. She never really knew her mother but wrenching her from the bench was something she didn’t want. “No…don’t… I have to stay my friend won’t know where to find me if I move.” She yanked her weight back into her seat reluctant to leave Du’an behind since he had been so kind to her. Within her struggle Navi emanated a comforting feeling that shrouded Kyra in a blanket of security. This prevented her from feeling any affects of the demon’s drowning curse giving Kyra all the time in the world to try and convince Navi otherwise.

Belail had hung on to every last word that Maeva had been saying to him even in his distracted state he listened with malicious intent but with so much going on his desires to fill the empty fissure between her legs would have to wait. The taste that he had been referring to was far deeper then just of Maeva’s flesh but of the sensation he got being around her tainted soul. She had matched him perfectly in every heartless way down to the same pleasurable game of torture that he was now force feeding upon Du’an. A disfigured grin curled across Belail’s face at the Adorus's wise decision as he flung the corroded blade at his feet, “I believe that you are the first intelligent being that has crossed my path. Well that is until you foolishly denied me. Don't any of you dullards grasp the concept that I am the only reason you exist? That outside this realm Deities don't matter when you are lying on your death beds. It is you souls that return to me not to any divine! I try to be patient I really do but after being denied so many times I figure it best to wipe all of you out!” Du’an’s expression had been enough to appease his sadistic curiosity but Maeva had to push it one step further that would only arouse Belail’s pleasure even more. Feeling the pads of his lust’s feet on the back of his shoulders provoked a sensational wonder in him as to what she had in store. He could only anticipated what was coming next and he only thought that she was delaying his commands. Just as he was about to loose his temper with her, Belail felt his flesh peeling away from the muscles on his back like a craftsman whittling away wood shavings. Belail’s back arced mimicking Du’ans posture but instead of screaming he moaned with open arms letting his blade drop to the floor it recoiling several times before settling in silence. His loins burned at the sound of her drawn out voice he grew excited at the pain that Du’an had been experiencing and her moist tongue piercing his open wound lurched his yearning to torture his victim further. Hmmm that was vivifying! How amusing to lench him like a puppet while we indulge in our masochistic dalliance. He would have stopped everything right then and there if there hadn’t been more pressing matters to attend to. Having his eye on the piece of Calx seemed more important as he continued to try and hold Du’an into a trance. “Hold still you little shit!” His long thick tail then jutted out of the back of his spinein a half transformation of his beast form while the barb on the tip of his appendage contracted forth prepping Du’an for the same fate that had happened to Ariel only moments earlier. “Who says that you had a say in the matter and once you’re my slave you will be more than willing to tell what you have done with the piece of Calx!” Belail snorted in his possessed voice just as he glared up at Maeva in irritation for having her failed him in such a simple task he snagged Du’an up by the back of the neck like a disobedient pup with his tail arched ready to take on another victim. “You will rue the day that you ever crossed my path you inbred blight.” His hallow eyes finally met up with Du’an and the thoughts in his head didn’t matter to Belail he would soon have his answer with his barbed tail now seepingnear the back of his victim’s spine.
Lilura had been intently listening for Du’an the moment she had given him the instructions to keep the piece of Calx safe. She was especially worried that he would stray from his task and be caught in the clutches of Belail. It was a rare occasion that he would ever call her grandmother for he had only done so when he was only a young child. Except now the word seemed much more personal when it rang out like large dome bells in her thoughts. Her intuition was correct about Du’an’s ravenous curiosity to inspect things further when they should be left untouched. However, now wasn’t the time to scold him for it and she used her ability of necromancy to communicate with the priest who had recently passed away from inside the shambled temple. Her words spread like wild fire with in the dimension of the dead for the spirits who were closest to her grandson could save him from his demise. “Chamuel, guardian of Ac'quida’s ninth piece of Calx aid me in my grandson’s time of need! He is the one who bares the safe keeping of the responsibility that you once held finish your guardianship over the Calx and I will leave you to rest.
Chamuel was about to scold Candle just as his spirit came to settle next to hers for having disrespected him in life. He had a large part in keeping Belail at bay but before that came to be so he honed in on Lilura’s words and swiftly agreed to the responsibility that had been placed on his shoulders. Age no longer restrained his ability to be fleet and he faded to save Du’an without a word or a plan to the little girl. He didn’t want her to follow he thought that it would only result in another’s death due to her uncaring act that she had pulled on him. Angered by the massive destruction that had occurred in the adorned temple he once called home he drew up a substantial amount of energy using his new poltergeist ability to lift a large piece of fallen debris and with all his strength he flung it towards the back of Belail’s thick skull before fading like hot breath on a window pane.
The tip of Belail’s barb just started to barely pinch the flesh of Du’an’s spine but the sound of tiny pebbles tapping against the rubble like a dripping fountain caused him to slowly twist his torso just enough to see the massive stone levitating. Dropping Du’an’s body like dead weight he reached for his demonic sword knowing what was to come next he placed the blade in front of his face between the bridge of his nose while bracing his feet for the impact of the flying debris to be smite through the sharp edge of his blade. A harsh grunt slipped through Belail’s clenched jagged teeth while he lowered the sword with both hands to his side and a thunderous roar bellowed out as he swung it through the weight baring stone. A dark vale of mist emanated from his unholy blade it cleaving through the marble like hot iron melting through molten rock before breezing past Belail in two separate pieces. It shattering into the wall behind him he had had enough of spirits intermingling themselves in his diabolical deeds. He recognized the priests image and he swore that he would get his vengeance but when he turned to finish Du’an off he noticed that it had been a ploy to remove his victim from his grasp. Du’an was no where to be seen he had missed his chance to retrieve the piece of Calx his temper suddenly snapped with a burning desire to kill something. Enraged now with a strong burst of hate he backhanded Maeva venting out his entire wrath upon his unsuspecting lust, “You fucking whore I give you a simple task and you can’t even comprehend it! Do you even know what you let escape your grasp?! That Calx is mine and that accursed fool that I had in my grasp comes from along lineage of filthy thieves that stole it from me and I have been collecting the pieces back so that it can’t be wielded against me!” Leaping into the air he morphed back into his beast form just as he toppled Maeva to the floor with his teeth bore in her sights preparing himself to scoop her face out with them. “Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t feast on your innards!” His crimson eyes reflected back into hers he waited for what her response might be.

Kabol being in a cranky mood from all the hardships of the day gave her a snooty look then he closed his eye and lurched his head forward once more while saying in a disrespectful tone, “Slut!” He drew the word out not paying attention to the white flame that was shooting his way until he could see it illuminating from behind his lids. His eyes opened wide he started to move but it had been too late as it lit him up like embers in a flame and with a girly scream he rolled on the ground, “Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! It’s hot…it’s hot! Ahhhhhhhhhhh!” After flaring his legs around for a moment he finally got to his feet now grumpier then ever he pointed his finger at Nirvana, “You think your cute don’t you well I can throw spells to you SLUT!” He then began to chant but at the last word of his incantation he mispronounced which sent him shelling backwards into the thick grass that he had been in only seconds ago. “Wait…..that wasn’t supposed to happen….dam it...you should have been here when I was a dragon I would have chewed you up!” His voice faint as he started to climb out from his mistake and brushing himself off he attempted to chant the same spell again. This time he had gotten it right but missed his target as it hit the back of Nirvana’s svine and in annoyance at himself he stopped his feet staring at his hand. “Oh for Belail’s name why can’t I get this hocus pocus crap right!” In his brief self argument he lost his focus on his opponent leaving him vulnerable for another attack.

Brogan’s breath left him as the atrophied vision of the deity was imprinted forever in his mind and he couldn’t comprehend the torment that washed over him. He started to grab Oriax/Eae despite his denial, but before he could the roof fell out from under him and he was caught and thrown. He felt a rib crack as he landed, but that was nothing compared to what would’ve happened if he’d fallen into the building. He scrambled to his feet, ignoring the pain it caused and looked at the ruined building, dismayed to see no sign of the demon. He had to know what had happened. He dropped off the balcony to the ground and ran towards the building but before he got very far one of the thieves Diomed had brought to help grabbed him, turned him around, and shoved him down the street yelling over the commotion, “Come on Brogan! Kleptein got Candle, let’s go.” Brogan looked over his shoulder but followed the other thieves as they made a headlong dash to get out of the city.

Kyra’s brow furrowed as she looked at the strange glow from Navi and for an instant she was worried, but then an over whelming sense of trust and love flowed over her and she felt as if this girl should be protected at all costs. Instead of trying to pull her along, Kyra calmly sat beside Navi and wrapped an arm around her shoulders saying, “I’m sure your friend has already left the city and is looking for you. And if not, then he would want you to get out while you can. If he comes through here and can’t find you, he will know you’ve escaped the city and will go looking for you out there.”

Du'an knew better than to look into Belail's eyes as the demon tried to entrance him and he scrambled to his feet and tried to escape but one of Maeva's massive wings blocked his progress and knocked him back towards Belail. He grunted as Belail caught him and picked him up, wiggling while trying to get out of his grip and saying, "I already rue everyday of my life demon, this one will be no different. And," he added in a defiant tone, "we are not inbred, we take great care in that matter." It was with a great effort that he closed his eyes and disrupted Belail's stare, knowing it wouldn't do much good anyway if he couldn't escape Belail's grasp.
§
Candle looked up from where she was sitting cross-legged beside Uriel, who still hadn't moved, when Lilura's voice rang through the in-between realm. She looked at the priest as he faded back into the realm of the living and then quickly followed after him.
§
Du'an's struggling increased as he felt Belail's stinger prick his flesh and a few tears slipped out of the corners of his eyes as he knew he was about to become one of Belail's slaves, knowing as such he'd be helping Belail enslave and kill his family, Nirvana, his great-grandmother, all the villagers, Navi . . . he realized suddenly he'd left Navi in a large city she'd never been to by herself and that even now everyone still inside the walls was dead or dieing and he'd left her to that fate. He started to increase his struggles once more, trying to get loose if for nothing else than to get her to safety, and as he did Belail dropped him unexpectedly and he grunted as he crashed to the floor. Opening his eyes again to see why he wasn't writhing in pain, he was surprise to see the rock being split by Belail's sword. He wasn't surprised by the fact that Belail split it and kept himself from being harmed, but by the fact that there was a giant rock flying through the air. The temple had stopped collapsing, and even if it was still falling no piece of debris that big would go that direction. But before he could figure it out the transparent face of a little girl appeared in front of him and he froze, not sure what to do. Candle smiled at Du'an and then reached forward and grabbed his hand before pulling them both back into the very place Caflice had taken Uriel only moments before.
Du'an gave a slight startled cry as he was suddenly no longer in the temple and within Belail's grasp. He looked around and shuddered when he saw the transparent girl again, he looked at his hands, expecting them to be the same but wasn't sure if he was relieved or not to see them solid. He realized he was breathing hard, breathing though, that was a good thing right? "Wha-what--" he couldn't quite get the words out and Candle smiled softly.
"It's okay," she calmly, "you're safe, Belail can't get you here."
"Define . . . safe," Du'an panted, "am I . . . dead?"
She giggled, "Unfortunately no, but you are in our realm."
"Oh," Du'an said with a heavy exhale. He started to shake a bit as he realized how narrowly he'd escaped becoming a mindless puppet for Belail, and a good puppet he would've been for all his skill with a sword and what little he knew about alchemy, if Belail had learned what few secrets he knew there it would've only taken him a few moments to destroy Uriel, getting the box back would've been paltry considering.
"Are you okay?" Candle asked with concern.
Du'an gave a shaky laugh, "Okay? You've no idea what you've done! If you were solid I'd hug you." Candle giggled at that and he smiled then asked, "Did you throw the rock too?"
She shook her head, "No, he did," she nodded toward the priest and Du'an turned to look at Chamuel.
"Thank you, you've done a great good for the Ventus and those that would help them. Both of you." He slowly pushed himself to his feet as his breathing started to slow and his shaking hands grew steady once more.

Maeva saw the blow coming but made no move or either evade or block it. She knew she'd messed up and would've done the same in his place. She grunted as her head snapped to the side and had to move with the blow to keep her neck from snapping, the taste of blood filled her mouth as the inside of her cheek split open on her sharp teeth. She flattened her ears and looked back at Belail as he explained the box, not even trying to shirk off the responsibility of the failure as she despised anyone too scared to take the punishment for their misdeeds. She looked back at him coolly, her tail twitching in irration at herself and at Du'an, but mostly herself, if he killed her, so be it, she wasn't scared of death, besides she knew he wouldn't. Watching him leap at her, she didn't try to escape the attack as he slammed her to the ground. Locking her eyes with his she replied calmly, "I'll give you two. Because it will take a long time to get someone else with Af's complete trust who is willing to both pretend to serve him while serving you, and I can use that trust to find the cur and retrieve the box, and him as a slave for you. And secondly, because no matter where you go, and no matter how long you live," here her tail flicked up to caress his leg and started to move up it, "you will never," her tail reached his thigh, "find someone else like me." Her tail reached his groin and she slid her soft fur along his genitals and smiled up at him, sure that thought would get him to give her another chance, or if nothing else at least make him have to satisfy his lust once more before he killed her.

Nirvana raised her hand again then he said something about being a dragon and she laughed, "Dragon? Right! I doubt it, you give rats a bad name." She growled as her svine screamed in pain and bolted farther up the road and she said, "You know, wormtail, you're going to regret that." Realizing he wasn't paying attention to her she smirked and dashed swiftly across the road to him and caught him by the throat, lifting him up easily. She had the strong arms of someone raised to wield just about any type of tool, from those of war to those of construction, to those of farming, and she picked up the small Sanguis with ease. Lifting him till they were eye level she asked in a whispering growl, "You can throw spells, if only barely, but can you throw something that weighs any more than your own nose, weakling?" With that threat she leaned all her weight on one foot, dropped him, and punted the rat like a child's ball.

Dara dashed through the streets, he could feel his adrenaline rush wearing off and the effects of Belail’s dark magic starting to wear on him, but his worry for his son kept him going. He dodged a flying, fist-sized rock as a nearby building collapsed in front of him and then he noticed a few people that had jumped off of it and then realized he knew them. Picking Diomed out of the group he ran over and grabbed the other thief’s arm, “Hey, Kyra said Kleptein came with you is he still here?”

Diomed stood with a haze in his eyes and a trance in his body only giving Dara a blank stare as he asked his question and with an almost paralyzed movement he pointed in the direction his son had went. He was pale in comparison to his former self and the curse that filled the air now consumed his soul along with his freedom fading fast as he had nothing left to run for but in those last moments he warned Dara, “Leave now…or… you… too will be… at the mercy… of this tainted power…I’m…. sure he has already… left with the others.” He then stood emotionless as all the hope he had disappeared from his spirited nature and he soon would become nothing more than another puppet on Belail’s strings taking commands to harm those he cared for so dearly.

Belail felt Oriax’s shattered soul start to draw near him and with it came the memory of Eae as it was robed once more from Oriax’s thirsting soul who wished to be that same person that he had been so long ago. A longing yearned in him to pass away like a dying flame but knowing that his master wouldn’t allow him to have peace as the essence of Eae faded into the background of his mind. In a few short years that part of him would be nonexistent as it had been dying for centuries but a small spark of hope had delayed it from coming to an end too soon. Thrust back into his scaly demon form he was buried deep under a pile of rubble laying in the dark when he had come to. The world around him was quiet as he took a moment to regain his strength he hadn’t had the slightest clue of the moments that had lead to this collapsed grave that now shrouded his body. His muscles then thrashed from under the imprisonment while shoving heavy stone off his trapped body like corpse rising from its burial site he let out an irate snarl now standing where had once laid staring at the back of Brogan’s head as they began disappearing out of site. Knowing now he couldn’t return empty handed he sprung into action at the familiar smell of Lucis’s child who had been sitting on the bench with some strange woman and if failing at bringing Ina to his master would irate him, bringing his two hundred year old sacrifice would appease Belail’s disappointment in him.

Navi looked up at Kyra as she was much smaller in frame and was still unsure that she should leave until a strange sense of serenity passed over her like someone had urged her to go with Kyra. She then looked down at her feet that weren’t even touching the ground as she nodded to what the stranger had been telling her, “I sure hope your right because I don’t want anything bad to happen to him…” She paused for a moment giving it one last thought before finally making her decision, “Alright….I will go with you but only because these people are scaring me…they were all fine just a second ago but now they look like walking corpses.” She had said it with such innocence because she hadn’t the slightest idea as to what happened to them. Navi got to her feet and she turned to faced Kyra with her hand extended out as if to be the one that had been coaxing her the entire time. Oriax had been charging towards the scent and with the illumination bursting off of Navi’s body he crouched in mid run bounding into the air with claws extended out as he to intended pounce on her.

Chamuel was displeased that Candle had intervened in his attempts to save Du'an but he couldn't complain all three of them were safe from harm if didn't take into account that he was dead. He reappeared back into the spirit realm with his arms crossed still irked at the child when she asked everyone else that she saved if they were alright when she had treated him so poorly in his last moments in life. He held his tongue while Du'an thanked him and decided to address him first, "No need for thanks child I have been around for hundreds years guarding the piece of Calx but you should have seen your face it was priceless when I lifted that stone. I am or was immortal but I have been aging slowly to my death. I was being careful with my life until miss brilliant over there decided that my existance had no importance because I couldn't aid Uriel in his time of need." His voice raised near the end of his speech as he pointed at Candle with his withered boney finger. He would have continued telling Du'an about his origins but became distracted with anger by his sudden death that he still hadn't come to terms with his passing. "You little girl don't respect the wishes of others and had no right to judge me since you didn't know what part I was playing in this...I have no heir to watch my piece of the guarded relic since they have all passed before me without sparing a single child to live on and take this responsibility." His brow furrowed and he was a bit surprised that he was loosing his temper to a small child.

The loyal guards of Belail had been given their orders by Bia to seal off all exits to the city as to stop the over run of Ventus that tried to escape their fate. Their tactics were brutal and almost seemed unfair for those who were defenseless against the fierce demons as they hammered down on the legs of those who were fleeing, hearing the bones along with ligaments tearing with every unmerciful strike before tossing them back into the accursed city. These demon grotesque in appearance with famished looking bodies and curved spines that could be seen with every disk protruding out made it near impossible to escape for those who had no clue on secret passages that lead out of the city. This place of sanctuary had now been transformed into a living breathing nightmare and a prison that fell under the order of the dark lord.

Kabol wriggle in her grasp he was surprised that she had lifted him off the soil beneath his feet and he couldn’t get past the fact that he was always getting himself into trouble that he couldn’t deal with, “Let go…you light kisser! I’m not your plaything…Oooo you better put me down or I will turn back into a dra-…” His words cut short as she dropped him to the ground not even knowing what was about to happen next he started to speak again until he felt a sharp pain in his rear from Nirvana’s boot shooting him into the air and with his voice starting out loud and fading into the distance he cursed at once more. “Fffffffuuuuukkkkkkk yyyyyoooooouuuuuu!......Umf!” Thinking he was going to land head first but instead found himself wedged between the branches of a old tree now stuck in a new predicament as he couldn’t get himself free, “Grrrrrrrrrrrr……I hate her and if I ever see her again I’m going gnaw on her boots….call me a wormtail.”

With the look of death still residing in his bloodshot eyes he listened to Meava’s calm yet twisted nature as her life hanged in the balance and yet she didn’t flinch at his threat. He knew that Af was a reliable source of information that might give her the knowledge of the remaining pieces of Clax. He only had three in his grasp including the thirteenth piece which had been the stone of azure and Maeva was the key. His rage then flickered like a dying flame when he felt Maeve’s tail caress itself up his inner thigh under his armored loincloth along with her alluring words. They were just as tempting as a siren drawing in it’s pray with a harmonious tune. It seemed almost impossible that she was able tame his wild wrath and yet here she was charming her way out of death’s grasp. His eyes practically rolled into the back of his head as she ran her tail over his penis that had begun to become engorged at the feel of it feathering along his shaft. “You’re a crooked little whore aren’t you knowing that I can’t resist your intoxicating touch…very well then you better be able to come through with your promises my lust. I would hate to have to waste a perfectly good mate on simple mistakes.” With a burning desire of lust he pressed his tongue into her bloody mouth rubbing it along her open wound pressing his lips firmly against hers. She was right about him not destroying her even if wanted to she had a bigger purpose to fulfill. Belail’s long strapping tail swayed before tucking it under his waist he made sure not to interrupt the stroking of his gentiles jutting it's tip forth he before tracing it between her breast plate. Leaving a thin line of blood that flowed down the curves of her well formed muscles it passed over her navel and hooked itself deep within the cervix of Meava’s vagina. The feel of his barbed tail was nothing less then rough it tore through the flesh of her vaginal walls feeding into her masochistic nature while he indulged in being a sadist. With his blood and power intermingled with hers she was treated like a missing piece of his soul that had been reunited from a long departure. Her mistakes didn’t matter at the moment of their disturbing fornication. Moving his tongue away from her bloody wound it danced playful against hers hoping to feel the prick of Maeva’s barb that had scrapped the flesh from his index finger only moments earlier. His wings gaped open shrouding her in his shadow setting the morbid scenery fitting the temple ruins that had been a place of protection now seemed more fitting for a demon’s den.

“Diomed!” Dara exclaimed and shook him, but, seeing it was too late for the other thief he knew he had to leave his friend there or die himself. “I’m sorry,” he muttered then turned and ran off, glancing over his shoulder once before following some of the others he’d seen running from the collapsed building. He ran through an alley to the other side of the house then turned down the next smaller street where he saw the back of Kleptein and he couldn’t help but give a relieved sigh. But that relief quickly vanished as another of his friends fell victim to Belail’s power. He caught up with his son and, before the boy had a chance to react, scooped Candle out of his arms and said, “Faster, let’s go.”

Kyra smiled, hoping she was right as well as she would hate for her reassurances to prove false, “If he cares for you half as much as you care for him, I’m sure he’s doing every thing he can to stay safe for you.” She nodded at Navi’s description of the people who had fallen under Belail’s control and she shuddered, a fresh wave of fear for her son and husband washing over her and she hoped they had gotten out or were getting out. “Good,” Kyra said taking Navi’s hand with a smile, “and we can find your friend when things settle down.” She stood up and as she did Oriax came into view, as the demon leapt towards them, Kyra grabbed Navi’s arms and spun around so that she was between the two of them and she shoved Navi away towards the alley the others she’d been leading before had gone and yelled, “Run!”

Nirvana smirked as she watched Kabol fly through the air, and, cupping her hands around her mouth she yelled, “I told you to watch who you called a slut, you flea ridden, wormtail, maybe you’ll pick your battles better next time.” She turned back to the road and sighed, her svine was no where in sight and the cougar-man that she’d been carrying was lying unconscious in the middle of the road. She stalked over to Abdiel and drug him off the road, muttering curses at Kabol the whole while, she was strong for a woman, but Abdeil wasn’t exactly the lightest of cargos. She got him to the side and then groaned as she straightened back up. She paced in a large circle around him a few times muttering a spell and waving her hand about. When she finished she faced Abdeil and walked backwards a few steps and smiled when the air shimmered around her and Abdiel vanished. The rest of the area was still there but he could no longer be seen, smelled, or heard. “Don’t go anywhere,” she muttered to Abdiel’s unconscious body, then added as she turned away, “that also means don’t die.” Then she took off at a swift jog to find her svine.

“I wasn’t thanking you for me,” Du’an muttered looking away from Chamuel, “I don’t really care if I die, I was thanking you for the rest of those left to oppose Belail, and if that thing is going to make me live forever then I do not want it.” He didn’t seem to notice the priest’s anger towards Candle at the end of his little speech until he actually started to pick a fight with her.
Candle looked at Chamuel calmly, raising her eyebrows at him as a small smirk crept over her lips, “Why is it that you adults always cling to life like a barnacle to a ship? I did what I had to, to help the deity, it’s not my fault you were there, and there’s a good chance you would’ve been killed when the statue fell, or even later when they didn’t have more important matters to attend to, if that’d happened it would’ve been much slower and more painful, or you’d’ve become one of his slaves and all your secrets become his. Is that what you want?”
§
Du’an watched the two spirits argue a moment before deciding he had better things to do. He turned away from them and saw Uriel lying not too far away and for a moment he feared that the deity had died, but then he noticed the steady rise and fall of his breathing and he sighed in relief and hurried over. Slowing to a stop by his side, Du’an started to kneel by Uriel but the deity performed the same move that had failed on Candle and Du’an gave a surprised grunt as Uriel’s wing knocked him back several steps before he fell on his butt. “Leave. Me. Alone.” Uriel snarled as he draped his wing over his head once more.
Du’an shuddered at the tone in Uriel’s voice, then said, “Uriel, don’t do this. We need your help. We--”
“You don’t need me,” Uriel replied in a monotone now, “I’m useless. I’ve allowed myself to loose all that once made me strong, and I will merely get in your way now.”
“Uriel,” Du’an muttered, a tinge of fear entering his voice, “that’s not true. You just need to work on your skill a bit, you’re just rusty. It won’t be hard to remember, the aptitude is in yo--”
“What is your need to put me in such pain?” Uriel growled, cutting him off. Uriel moved his wing to glare at Du’an, “Why must I continue to fight a loosing battle for a people that don’t even know my name? Why put what little is left of my soul on the line when one who was stronger than me died in the process?”
“Pain?” Du’an asked incredulous. He got to his feet and went on angrily, “Don’t you speak to me about pain!.” He stalked over to Uriel saying, “I’ve had more pain on a good day than you’ve had in your life.” He grabbed Uriel’s ruined breast plate and, before the deity could react, lifted him to his feet, drew his arm back and slammed the back of his hand across Uriel’s face, sending him reeling a few steps in surprise. “You can not care all you want but don’t complain to me about your little aches you call pain. I--”
But Uriel had recovered from the surprise blow and he spun back towards Du’an and slammed a fist into his face, throwing him back off his feet and then skidding across the ground, “Don’t even pretend to know what I’m going through, mortal. You don’t understand what has happened to me, you never could in a thousand years.”
Du’an didn’t get up but he glared up at Uriel and responded in a quiet, even tone, “Don’t understand? If there’s one mortal in existence ever that understands it’s me. If anything it’s you that doesn’t understand. Two hundred years without the woman you love? What’s that, like five minutes in the life of a deity? At least she died fighting, at least it wasn’t your fault. Fine! Don’t fight for the Ventus, they’re not your people, they’ve done nothing for you. Don’t fight to avenge Lucis, she’s dead what does she care? But if nothing else fight for Ariel. There’s still a chance she can be saved, and if nothing else fight to end her slavery.”
Uriel glared down at Du’an, both of them were breathing rather hard and the places where the blows had landed on their faces were growing red. Both of them were quiet as they stared at each other for a while before Uriel finally looked away and muttered, “Fine.”

Maeva knew she had him as she could see his anger fading as she spoke and she smiled as his eyes rolled back and she could feel him hardening at her touch. “I would’ve been dead on our first meeting if I weren’t a crooked whore, my king. I underestimated him, I didn’t think he’d be able to react that fast after that kind of pain, it won’t happen again.” She moved her tail the other way so that it rubbed against the grain of her fur, and groaned as his barb split her skin open like an over ripe fruit, she reached her massive paws up and dug her long claws through his skin and embedded them into his perfect muscles as if to give herself a better hold. Not expecting the barb to go there she gasped in excited pain as it slammed into her vagina and her claws dug deeper into his chest while at the same time her tail quickened it’s pace against his penis and testicles and her barbed tongue rasped against his with such force that it removed much of the outer muscle and filled both their mouths with his blood. She raked her claws down his chest and abs, letting his blood spill across her body, soaking into the black fur of her underside and mingling with her own blood.

Oriax snarled at Kyra as she shoved his target out of line knowing he couldn’t stop himself from landing on her and when his feet braced Kyra’s chest on impact he sent her crashing to the stone lined ground. “Grrrrrr you will pay for that later infidel but for now my target is getting away so consider yourself lucky!” His jaws snapped in her face while he spoke harshly and with a rebound coil from her torso he begun his long enduring pursuit just to try and reach his pray. He knew that he needed to catch Navi or his punishment would be great as Belail was aware of his mistake and never knowing how his master carried this knowledge when he failed only propelled his desire to make up for his blunder. Leaping over the light drained Ventus he would often recoil off the walls just to advert himself from being slowed like Navi who kept running into others. It was a relief to see her try and hid which meant he no longer need to chase her down as he had Navi right where he wanted her to be. Kyra now in the back of his mind he never took into consideration that she might make a second attempt to save the young deity.

Navi gasped as she was spun into a shove that kept her out of the grasp of Oriax’s scaly hands and with Kyra instructing her to flee in a city she didn’t know all too well she darted down the wrong path that lead her deeper into town. She gazed behind her just as Kyra was slammed to the cobbled ground by Oriax’s hefty weight and she let out a shrill in fear while knocking over those who now carried the burden of Belail’s curse. This only caused her to panic even more as she picked up the speed with every winding turn she made, it almost felt like being trapped in the walls of a labyrinth and with a second glance at the sound of an angry growl she noticed Oriax gaining extraordinary speed nearing the heals of her little bare feet. This was turning out to be far more frightening then being left behind by Du’an and she was starting to wish that she had stayed in the comforts of her little world where she had been for the past eighteen years. She suddenly felt a snagging tear shred through her tiny fragile wings along with a swipe that barely winded past the hairs on her neck and she didn’t need to turn and look to know that he was just a few inches from her now. Navi’s tiny heart pounded like the sound of a little drummer boy going off to war as she scanned the area hoping to find a hiding place. It wasn’t long until she was attracted by a massive decrepit building that had partially concaved within itself and if she wouldn’t have been panicking so much she would have taken notice of what was inhabiting it in the far corner of the open area. Tucking herself behind bits of shambled rumbled she realized the chasing had stopped and peering out she could see a small band of guards who looked like the same lifeless people that she had been tumbling over. Blocking the door way stood Oriax pleased that she had chosen this place to hid and with him in Navi’s sights she crouched down trying to make herself even tinier then she already was. A strange sensation washed over her as she had the feeling that Du’an had been in this very place only moments ago as the building she had taken refuge in was the temple of Lucis Auctorem. She was starting to wonder where she was getting her strange intuition until something caught her attention and it was the furry beast she had wanted to pet earlier until Du’an told her that wasn’t a good idea. “Belail…I think that is what they said his name was….but what is he doing that woman??” She whispered softly to herself as she slowly moved closer to get a better look and with her strange ability not to be harmed by the curse she only had the fear of being sealed in behind the shield that shrouded the entire city.

Kabol cursed violently at the sound of Nirvana’s voice off in the distance as he bounced his weight between the narrow branches that held him prisoner. “Oh shut up you fucking slut when I get down from here your going to wish that you had stayed on your svine….AAAAAGRRRRHHH!” Loosing his patience he ricocheted himself back and forth in a faster pace causing the branch to bow at his weight but not giving into his struggle only made Kabol’s situation far more worse then before his attempt at escaping. He couldn’t get himself down and it would prove pointless to try and convince Maeva to pull him from the tree now that she had what she wanted he was nothing but expendable goods. “I hate being so tiny and weak…it just isn’t fair….if I ever get down from here I am going to find away to show Belail I can be useful without Maeva’s help!” He then squinted at the sight of a silhouette nearing him just as he had finished talking to himself as it became familiar. “How did you get yourself up there Kabol you worthless piece of shit…..I don’t know why Maeva took interest in you since you can never do anything right!” Moloch glared up with hateful words as the rat had been kicked out of the tribe so long ago for not being able to prove himself as a useful Sanguis. “Don’t ask questions Moloch just get me out of this stupid tree!” Moloch’s face contorted into a hateful expression at being demanded by an outcast but it soon turned devious, “Oh…of course Kabol I will be happy to let you down!” With a sarcastic tone the tip of his finger sparked a black bolt of lightning striking the limb that the rat had been wedged between and with a snapping sound Kabol came crashing to the ground, “C-catch Me!” He spurted out just as Moloch stepped away only to watch him land on his little head, “I’m sorry I didn’t quite catch what you just said…could you repeat that?” Kabol now laying on the ground in a daze responded back in pain, “Uggg…..never mind…it’s too late ass hole!” Moloch only laughed at his inconvenience as Kabol didn’t catch on to his sarcasm he had been dishing out the entire time and with that out of the way he continued to lead his band of Sanguis towards the city. Moloch had left Moon and Night behind with one of the many women of his tribe knowing that they would be in good hands with them.

Abdiel only grunted in pain as Nirvana dragged him off the side of the road and as much as he wished to stand up it was impossible as he had been too weak from the horrid experience. He could hear every word she said but his lips didn’t move in fact nothing did and this frightened greatly. It would take a generous amount of healing on his part to regain his strength along with someone who could pull him out from his ill slumber.

“Don’t put words in my mouth boy….I never said that I did it for you! I did what I had to because that Piece of Calx is my responsibility so that is why I asked not for your thanks! Why is it that everyone younger then I thinks that I need to be given a lecture when it comes to the safety of the Ventus race! Well I will tell you both to hush because I was there when your ancestor gave my tribe that Piece of the relic.” His temper short from all that had happened he was not acting himself and with Candle’s words it only added fuel to the fire of the priest’s anger. He had a few choice words for the young girl even though he thought that it was pointless to argue with a child who didn’t know all to well about life, “You maybe content as a spirit and don’t hold on to life but everyone else including other children do. Just because you are from a different tribe of Ventus who perform better at being spirits then in your solid form doesn’t mean to judge others. Seeing you are the last of your kind I bet you know nothing of this which means your tribe failed at keeping their Piece of the Calx from Belail. I can see why now since you don’t regard others and it almost cost everyone their lives. You Avira have always been close to the dark lord always proving your loyality to him. I believe you purposely got me killed to make me loose my piece alas Du’an wouldn’t have to risk his life trying to get it! Instead of listening to a wiser Idea then just bursting into screams the whole situation could have been averted. The staff I wield had not been on my person I would have suggested that you retrieve it with your transparent abilities. It held the power to freeze time for but a short moment enough to pull Uriel to safety! Could have told you were it was then I would have been happy to be a diversion for Uriel while you pointed it at Belail and Maeva!” He would have gone on about the subject all day but was distracted by Uriel and Du’an fighting and he was surprised that the Aduros who worshiped the deity slugged Uriel in the face. “Hey you two knock it off we need the both of you to live!” But his words were ignored as they continued to argue!

Lilura couldn’t believe what she was hearing as Du’an proceeded to argue with their deity and at the end of their tussle she intervened in his thoughts, “Du’an what are you doing arguing with a god? I know that you are angry but fighting with him isn’t going to settle anything! Give him time and he will turn around and besides I have some news that I have been wanting to tell he since my youth…that should cheer him up greatly and your job is to bring me Uriel and the ancient piece of Calx back to the village! I know the pain is unbearable since the demon’s awakening but don’t let him win so try and hold your temper my hot headed grandchild!” A comforting feeling was sent his way along with the mental image of her smiling at him while she preformed a spell that would only temporarily soothe Du’an’s pains of Belail’s curse that she had learned a while back. “That should silence you aches from him for a bit so return to me safely child…I miss you so!”

“True my lust I would have never let you step into my chambers if you hadn’t been, but I will let you in on a little secret…don’t ever underestimate anyone’s abilities especially those from the lineage of a traitor!” His eyes burned with a hateful passion when he spoke of his once loyal Aduros servant who he had once called friend. Without second thought he took out his rage on Maeva’s lustful body knowing she would endure his abuse. The pain she inflicted upon him was welcoming, their blood overflowed like a never empty goblet of wine and its taste ravaged their wicked souls. His taunt member ached at his desires to thrust himself past the lips of his lust’s vagina when she combed it with her tail. Sheathing himself he didn’t let his barbed appendage remain inside her for long it slid from the warmth of her body flicking back and forth. The hawks of his hind legs touched the shattered floor when he sat to the floor and his penis laid over Maeva’s gentiles. He was now seeking the well known clasping of her cervix that would soon shroud his penis. His speared shaft rubbed vigorously down the center of her moist opening and he groaned in pleasure. His dick pulsated snagging itself deep inside of her at the feel of Meava’s slick and blood drenched vagina. He didn’t mind the audience that suddenly came to join him either. Navi and Oriax entered the shambled temple and without acting like he was in a private moment he spoke in his ancient tongue so that the young deity remained clueless to his conversation, “So my worthless servant you have lost the traitorous Ina who seeks shelter in a youths body and thought that bringing me my long past due sacrifice would appease your mistake…” His glare was averted from Maeva for only a moment as he looked over his shoulder his glance peered under the shadow of his wings piercing into the eyes of his slave.
Oriax’s soul shrank inside his body as Belail took knowledge of him and by the sounds of it his master was less then pleased with his findings, “…uhh…yes my lord I thought that this would mollify your temper…has it not?” He spoke in the same language as his master but the once brave demon that had been bullying others around turned into a pale coward at the sight of Belail’s shadowed eyes. “You know…we don’t have to discuss this now my lord…that is if you don’t want to since I can see you’re busy.” He said warily hoping to delay his punishment that he knew he had coming his way, His efforts seemed inane as he knelt down in pain coughing up blood.
“Do I look pleased to you slave…do you feel my gratification? You should have been able to retrieve both for me but why should I expect anything more from you then failure!” His head then turned facing Maeva’s desirable features and curves and his dick continued to pummel itself deeper into her vagina. With his long curved claw he traced his finger around her bloody tits with a malicious grin on his face. “You aren’t interrupting anything in fact your pain is only in heightening my lust so no I wish to continue your torture.” With Oriax’s screams setting the mood for their vicious escapade Belail snatched his lust by the scruff of the neck. In a brief removal of his stiff penis he flipped Maeva on to her belly hiking her ass into the air while sheathing himself back into her clasping embrace. His long tongue traced up the arc of her spine before coming to a halt it wriggled into Maeva’s ears he couldn’t help but exploit her goods praising her conceited ego. “You are very alluring with your supple breast and slender appeal! You have managed to talk yourself out of death but your whoring body hasn't escaped my wrath. If I didn't know better I'd think you took pleasure in your beating!” His breath heavy in her ear he panted and groaned with each deserving thrust of his pulsating penis. His testicles bouncing against the lips of her backside he wedged his forefinger over her clit rubbing it hard in a circular motion. To busy to bother with his sacrifice he let Navi watch intently hoping to taint her innocent mind with perversions while he worked hard at pleasuring his queen.

Nirvana took it as a good thing Abdiel could even grunt, as it meant he was still alive and conscious enough to feel pain. It only took her a few moments to find her svine standing a little ways off the road, she frowned as she realized how hard it was breathing and knew she’d been riding it too hard, if she kept the pace much longer she’d probably kill it, besides there was no way she’d get back home within the day even if it was freshly rested. She sighed as she caught it’s reigns and took a moment to calm it, then lead it back to where she’d left Abdeil. Tying it off to a tree within the enchanted area, she removed it’s saddle and gave it a few hunks of dried meat, then made sure it’s reigns were long enough to reach the ground so it could graze. Finished with that she checked the concealing spell she’d set and made sure it would hold up for a while, then went to check on Abdiel. With a sore groan she sat behind him, picked up his head, scooted her legs under his head, and laid his head on her lap. She placed her hands on either side of his head then started to mutter quietly. She wasn’t powerful enough to completely heal him herself, but she could use her magic to keep him alive until she got back to the village.

“Who’s putting words in whose mouth?” Du’an asked Chamuel in a slightly annoyed voice, “I wasn’t lecturing you in any way, so please don’t yell at me. I just thought you should be thanked for holding onto it for three hundred years and for keeping me and the knowledge I carry from falling into Belail’s hands. However, if you wish it I will let the gratitude go and you can remain unthanked. I really don’t care.”
(let’s just pretend this was said before he went over and started yelling at Uriel)
§
“What are you talking about?” Candle’s tone went from amusement to confusion, “I was born and raised in Ac'quida, along with all the other self-righteous Ventus. Maybe if you weren’t so busy cowering in fear you could’ve actually helped with some kind of plan, I just did what Caflice told me to do. It’s not my fault you left your staff at home, stupid thing for you to do seeing as Belail rose yesterday, I would’ve thought someone three-hundred years old would’ve been smart enough to carry it with you at all times after that, but maybe that’s just me.” She looked over at Du’an and Uriel just as the deity slammed his fist into Du’an’s face and sent him flying and she shook her head and muttered under her breath, “Adults . . . or is it just men.”
§
What did you want me to do? Du’an sent back as he got to his feet, I couldn’t just let him lie there and mope and I didn’t know what else to do. It worked didn’t it? He was about to say something else but he forgot it when her spell washed over him and he was able to relax for the first time in what felt like months even if it had only been a couple days. Thank you, El--Grandmother, I will be home soon. He stepped towards Uriel, who watched him with a detached glare but otherwise didn’t move, and then walked around behind him to inspect his dislocated wing. He looked a the sagging joint for a moment then braced one hand against Uriel’s back and grabbed the base of his wing with the other and jerked it back into place with a sickening pop. He wasn’t sure if he should be concerned that Uriel didn’t even twitched at the pain. He stepped away again and muttered, “That’s the best I can do, you’ll have to heal yourself.” Uriel didn’t respond to Du’an but started to mutter a few words and his wounds and armor started to mend themselves. Du’an glanced at Candle and Chamuel then back at Uriel and said, “We need to go.” He ran his fingers through his hair and muttered to himself, "Man, I hope she got out okay." Resisting the urge to ask one of the spirits to take him back to the city so he could search for Navi, he raised his hand and said, “Pugna, Uriel.” An array again started to glow on his palm, mostly the same as the one he’d used to move the box earlier, but this time with the same symbol Uriel had tattooed on his shoulder in the center of it.

“No!” Kyra yelled as Navi went the wrong way, but it was already too late. She cried out in pain as Oriax’s claws dug into her chest and she was slammed into the hard ground below. Spitting in Oriax’s face she said, “I hope you rot in hell, you monster.” She grunted in pain as he leaped off her, his claws digging in deeper, and she curled into a ball for a moment or two to let the pain pass, then struggled to her feet. Pressing a hand to the wounds in her chest she looked after Oriax and Navi and saw the demon jump off a building in the distance, Navi couldn’t be seen. Now that she was no longer in the girl’s light, Kyra could feel Belail’s spell weighing on her once more and it seemed all the heavier because she’d been in the light, but she was also all the more determined to save Navi despite her injuries. “Should’ve killed me when you had the chance stupid,” she muttered as she took off after them. Reaching down she grabbed a fist sized rock and darted to one side of the road and was about to chuck it at his head, but before she could he dropped to his knees and started coughing up blood, she hadn’t seen any blow come to him that would’ve caused that so it must’ve been Belail, which meant this was going to be a lot harder than she’d originally thought. Dropping the rock and returning to that side of the road, now concentrating more on stealth than speed, she edged around the tortured demon, grimacing as Oriax started to scream, then, keeping low to the ground, scrambled over to Navi, doing her best to ignore the groans, grunts, and pained cries that the two demons were making and hoping their excursions would keep them distracted, then caught Navi's wrist as she whispered, “Come on, let’s go.”

“Ah, so that’s where he came from,” Maeva said with a smirk, “I’m surprised he had the gall to reproduce. Must’ve been some evil left in him to force an entire race of people into that kind of suffering.” She chuckled then moaned as he took his anger out on her, loving every moment of it. Her body shuddered as his barbed tail pulled painfully out of her cervix and was replaced just as painfully with his barbed penis and an excited cry of pain escaped her lips as she dug her claws deeper into his chest. She turned just her head as the two entered and was annoyed a moment at the interruption, but as soon as it became apparent that Belail had no plans of delaying the moment, it was just amusing. She locked eyes with Navi for a moment and grinned, sliding her tongue over her sharp, blood-drenched, teeth in a taunting manner, then returned her attentions to Belail as he looked back at her and her grin grew ever larger as Oriax’s screams excited her further and drove Belail to serve her ever better heights of ecstasy. A frown replaced her grin as he removed himself before either of them had climaxed, but it returned as he flipped her over and she realized his intentions and flicked her tail out of his way with perfect timing and shuddered happily as he jammed himself back inside, flaring her wings a bit so they wouldn’t be in his way, or so he could use them to get a better grip if he so wished. Arching her spine as his tongue ran up it and chuckling as it slid into her ear, she purred as his words seduced her ever more, and her tail wrapped itself around his waste and slid down his ass, slipping between his legs and pressing against his testicles before caressing down his inner thigh. The purr still heavy in her voice she replied, “All the more reason we’re so perfect for each other. You with your flawless body, and the pain: never before has any one had the balls to give me so much pain. Why would I run from your punishment if it would remove me from your side. Ahhhhh,” she shivered and moaned as he massaged her clit adding so much to her pleasure. She lifted her head and twisted it around, her neck much more flexible in this form, and sunk her teeth into the side of his neck, being sure to avoid the artery, but still ending up with his intoxicating blood coating her mouth.

Abdiel felt his head being raised off the ground along with hands embracing his temples as he heard incantations being muttered out. His breathing felt more at ease and his eyes opened up staring back into Nirvana's but his body still remained in a paralyzed state as if it were dead. His voice weak as he was more concerned for his friend then of his own life, "Wh-ere...is.....Dara?? Is...he al..right?" Exerting his remaining strength with speaking he still couldn't understand what damage he had taken from the death curse that Belail had casted upon him.

The priest waved his hand at Du’an in both anger and confusion on what he thought Du’an had meant and should have explained himself deeper. He said nothing into his response and figured it best to try and calm down and think logically like he normally did. He had always been calm and understanding when it came to others and even with this child not understanding who he was, he took deep breath looking at Candle figuring that he should try to talk to her and not down at her. “Listen child I am through trying to argue with you because it doesn’t matter any more but if you would have just listened to me long enough you would know that I lived in the temple of Lucis. The door to my bed chambers where just on the far side of the temple you who were invisible to the naked eye could have retrieved it for me but I have passed and there is nothing more that could be done.” He knelt down making eye contact with the young girl who he had been blaming for his demise, “It’s not all your fault if I had been able to speak through this realm both of you would have know what to do. Now about where you came from Candle I don’t know where you were born but I do know that you come from a different heritage of Ventus who in your case thrive at being spirits. Our origins come from Belail that is very true as there were different species of Sanguis who were supposed to help keep his order but those who betrayed him followed under a new order. Which meant that they turned into different species of Ventus after being touched by Lucis’s light at their own free will. I will tell you more later if you like but I think that it is important to get both Du’an and Uriel out of this realm along with the piece of Calx that Du’an just retrieved and hand it over to another guardian.” His story far from over he hoped that he had done his part to calm both her and himself down to finish out their quest to get the Deity and the Aduros back to Lilura.

“Fuck the fool! If I had the chance to ring his neck again I would send him into cycle of endless torment. His vessel but ash now and his soul nothing more then power that has been returned in my bones” He snorted in heavy breathing and with her gaped wings spread he took it as an invitation to clasp his devilish fingers around her thick bones using them to better leverage his dick. He disliked his past and talking about it only enraged him more but all the better did it make their ravenous appetite for painful sex worth wild. His long shaft glide over the nerves of her clasping vagina ramming himself as deep as his penis allowed to him go he closed his eyes in the intensity of the moment while his tail curved around the underside of her leg and continued stroking her clit just to feel her secretions silk over his erect member. A low grumble vibrated in his throat at the sound of Maeva’s pleasured chuckle and the feel of her tail exploring his lower half made him grin maliciously. Belail listened to her seductive voice dance in his ears while his hands released from her wings and glide down Maeva’s back. “I am no romancer! It is my nature to stricken others with suffering. The very torment that leads others to madness seems to only gift you with gratification!” His heavy breath still in her ear he listened with delight as she moaned at him massaging her clit he knew that she would be the one that would forever remain at his side. Holding onto her thighs for only a moment his palms traced over her waist before stopping along her firm breasts. The pad on the bottom of his finger scrapped over the ridged bumps of her hard tits as he rolled them around with his curved claws. He could feel his penis pulsating even harder while he neared his climax. He watched her flexible body contort as he felt her fangs pop through his flesh just so she could taste his sinful blood. Indulging in her fetish he didn’t mind her taking his blood or that she had became addicted to its taste for it only strengthened her dormant inner demon self. The atmosphere changed the moment Kyra stepped in the ruins and he immediately knew of her presence. The contagion of his curse grew heavier around them in hopes he would breed it swiftly into Kyra's essence. His voice now sounding agitated making it known that he was aware of her. “Don't you know it is disrespectful to come in unannounced? But since your hear why the rush? I do enjoy having guest over for dinner!” He snarled scathingly with his forefinger now jammed in Chamuel's socket wrenching the eye from the nearby bloody corpse. "I think I have had enough of you leches foiling my plans and breeding your young on my domain." Belail scoffed and before long Oriax’s screams died. Without muttering a word to Oriax knew exactly what his master wanted using the tranced guards to block their path he kept a close eye on his new victims. The distraction would be enough time for Belail to finish what he had started with Maeva and with one final thrust he arched his spine backwards shredding his flesh from his lust’s clamped jaws the shaft of his penis bulged before drenching Maeva’s vagina in his cum. Belail let out a loud moan his tongue dangled from his mouth at the feel of his release. Though not given the luxury to wallow in the aftermath he retracted his barbs back into his penis before letting his wet dick drop from her sperm covered lips. His neck still gushing out blood from tearing himself way from Maeva’s bite he approached both Navi and Kyra, “Don't be try and play hero, Kyra. It is unwise to try and wonder off with a demon's prey. Her soul has been on my plate for sometime.” His thoughts could read through anyone’s minds like a vast endless library. To those he wished to know more about, lost the privilege of keeping their most private thoughts within the secret chambers of their mind including the names they went by. Having enough intrusions of spirits thieving his victims he formed a barrier that kept the spirits at bay and those who dare cross its path would succumb to his will. Being fooled twice had reached his limit and the only ones that could save Navi and Kyra were themselves.
Navi's fear suddenly turned to curiosity and since she was no longer being pursued her anxieties seemed to mollify for the moment. She cocked her head at Maeva as she licked her teeth at her and her inquisitiveness grew even more interested into what they were doing. However the violent nature of these actions they were performing had kept her from nearing them any closer. She wanted to ask what it was they were doing but it seemed that they weren’t the friendly sort to answer her question. Navi felt a strange sensation washing over her when she felt a tingling between her legs which made her feel that she shouldn’t witnessing such things. She blushed at the feeling almost turning her head away from the perverted scene while being unaware that she was being tempted down a corrupt path. Her eyes then locked on to Belail’s testicles now remembering what Du’an had told her about them and a shock grew over her face to the realization, “If that is how you make babies then I’m not sure if I ever want one….this feeling that has consumed me makes me feel….” She abruptly stopped speaking to herself and almost jumped out of her skin when Kyra grabbed her by the wrist just as her hand was about to slid down between her legs to investigate the feelings she had been experiencing. Feeling embraced about being caught she only nodded at Kyra too ashamed to say anything to her as they started for the door but by the time that had happened Belail was already aware of their attempts to leave.
Without even flinching a muscle he lifted Kyra from solid ground flinging her weightless body over towards Maeva, “Hungry for more blood my lust? Her flesh seems ripe enough to peel from her bones. Help yourself!” He smirked in delight at how these Ventus who were so delicate were easy to manipulate and torture. Their survival meant nothing to him from the day their ancestors betrayed him and the only purposed they served was his next meal. Belail could tell that he had just barely started to taint Navi’s innocent mind by the mixed sensations she was emitting from her body. With a twisted chuckle he went further in his attempts to see if he could tempt her to do what he wanted. “Aww…don’t you know what that is sweetie? Go on touch yourself and you will find out what it’s all about!” His razor sharp grin opened wide his wicked eyes gleamed red and with a swift transformation Belail slowly came to stand on his hind legs revealing his muscular toned body while his blood glistened off his bare skin. He stood naked with his gentiles exposed hoping to strike a cord in her thoughts that would led her to touching herself, “Come now it doesn’t hurt unless you want it to…Even my lust can tell you it is worth it.” He glanced over at Maeva wriggling his tongue sexually in her direction before looking back at Navi seeing that it wouldn’t hurt to toy with his food before devouring it whole.
Navi looked down at the floor unable to find the means to stare the demon in the eyes and her concerns laid with Kyra now believing it was her fault for getting her into this mess. Her innocent mind so easy to manipulate she wasn’t sure who she should listen to and she wished that Du’an was at her side telling her what she should do. A fear grew in her expression as Belail walked near her and her body quivered at the feel of being trapped and once his touch made contact with her skin she started to jerk away. Bracing her body with his large hands he began to humiliate her slowly stripping Navi of her clothes and with tears streaming down her face she cried out, “Stop….I don’t want you to touch me….I wa…want my Du’an!” Her hands pressed against his abs trying to get him away from her but it seemed frivolous as he out weighed her in every way. Her pain only excited Belail to continue with his corrupt actions and without listening to her demands he stripped her body naked, “No one will save you here… not even your Du’an.” His hand braced her neck lifting her just enough off the floor where her toes barely touched; he drew out his long tongue it touching her navel licking up past her rib cage before gliding over her nipples. Although it had appeared to be sexual it was far from that he was only getting a taste of his sacrifice before feasting upon her body. “Mmmm…you’re going to taste succulent once I sink my teeth into you and it will be one less filthy light deity I will have to deal with.” A sharp pain then suddenly came without warning in her right arm and to her horror Belail had begun the feast.

Lilura only laughed to Du’an’s response and shook her head as he tried to give an excuse to the fight he had just had with Uriel, “Ohhh my dear grandchild you could have used a transferring spell but then again you fight more then you study…Your welc…” She paused in horror when she received a vision of a young deity starting to be devoured by the dark lord and his homecoming would have to delayed, she spoke frantically, “Du’an ..I know you just escaped Belail’s grasp but you must return to the temple…there is girl by the name of Navi who is in great danger and she has a important role to play! Now be swift and ask for the aid from Chamuel to release you outside the temple walls he has a staff that can freeze anyone in time to whomever you aim it at.” She had hoped her words hadn’t come to late and that they hadn’t began their journey away from the city.

Nirvana stopped chanting as Abdiel started talking then responded, "Dara? That would be the man that was with you earlier I guess. He was fine when I left him. Now, you should shut up or you're going to loose what little strength you have left and waste all the effort him and I've put in to keeping you alive this far." With that admonishment she resumed her chanting.

Candle had never been one to enjoy arguing, nor, for that matter, one to hold onto her pride like it would actually help anything like many people, it was one of the biggest things that annoyed her about adults. She merely said with a roll of her eyes, “I still think you should’ve had it on your person at all times. And no, it’s not my fault, but I could’ve been less hasty I guess, but what do you expect, patience comes with age and I’m not even ten years old yet.” She didn’t know whether or not to believe him about her heritage, she remembered vaguely her mother telling her that her father had died before she was born and that she’d barely escaped to Ac’quida, from what she was running had never been clear. Her mother had died when she was still very young and her step-father lost all love for her when her mother died and, not wanting to deal with a sickly child, had abandoned her to die, that was when Amaya had found her and taken her in. It was one of the reasons she didn’t like the Ventus, she didn’t know that her step-father had been a Sanguis that had tricked her grief-stricken mother and later killed her and thought leaving Candle alone would be her undoing as well. She decided to think on it later and turned her attention to the two other men. “I think the short one has it covered,” she replied as Du’an raised his glowing hand to do the same thing he’d done just after the battle.
I was always better at swordplay than magic, Du’an replied with a small smirk, so I stick to what I’m good at. He was about to use his Alchemy to transport him and Uriel back to the alter he’d moved Uriel to after his first fight with Belail but stopped as his grandmother cut herself off mid-sentence. He frowned when she said he had to return but as soon as she mentioned Navi’s name a dread gripped his stomach and he spun away from the deity and ran back to the two spirits, not even registering what Lilura had said about Navi’s roll. “You have to send me back, now, there’s no time for questions.” He looked at the priest and added, “You have a staff, where is it and how do I use it?”
“Take you back?” Candle asked with surprise. “Do you know what we risked just to get you out?”
Du’an gave her a glare that would’ve sent her stumbling back a few steps had she still been solid and standing on her feet, “Look, I won’t leave her in his clutches. It’s my fault she’s there and she needs my help, and I need yours,” he looked back at Chamuel, “please help me.”

"Fools indeed," Maeva replied with a chuckle, "hence the reason we're desecrating one of their temples now and it was so easy to do so." She moaned as he used her wings and his anger to jam himself in harder, taking out his past frustrations on her body, she loved it and it made her cervix clasp his barbed penis all the harder, causing her even more pain. Her moan grew as she felt herself climaxing, and at the same time his rough hands sliding down her back. "If I wanted romance, I would've stayed with Af, he doesn't know the meaning of pain. Ugh, I can't wait to kill him violently." She sighed as his hands roamed her body and grunted as he started to climax with her, pushing even faster, and she could feel him pulsating within her. She ran her barbed tongue over his neck where her teeth were latched on, drawing more blood and scraping the skin raw. Glancing over as Kyra entered the scene she growled, knowing this would keep them from indulging themselves further after their dirty deeds. She tightened her jaws a little more, increasing the flow of blood into her mouth, as she climaxed just as Belail ripped his neck out of her grasp, spraying her face with blood. She groaned as she felt herself release her cum just before Belail's sperm shot into her and he slid out of her. Sighing as he walked away from her she said, "Don't worry Love, within a few days we'll have all these pesky rebels subdued, then we'll have all the time we could want, for whatever." As she stood up she could feel blood and cum dripping from her torn vagina and she smirked and let her new found powers heal herself while she watched Belail.
Kyra thought nothing of Navi's violent start, thinking it was just being scared that whoever was grabbing her was a threat and not a friend. She started to stand up and help Navi to her feet when Belail spoke about interruptions and she knew she'd been caught. She started to make a break for the door but the demon blocked it before she could. She looked back towards Belail fearfully just as he finished with Maeva and pulled his dripping penis and neck away from her, and Kyra couldn't help a look of disgust. The expression was quickly replaced by one of terror as the demon started towards them, dripping with the blood of both himself and his mate, and Kyra figured, probably a few others, and she found she was rooted to the spot with fear. She cried out in trepidation as he threw her across the room as easily as she might throw a child's toy.
"Always!" Maeva replied, raising up on her back feet to catch Kyra by the waist in her strong jaws, making the scream go from one of fear to one of pain, then slammed her face first into the ground. Being much heavier in her beast form it was easy for Maeva to pin Kyra to the ground as she watched Belail taunt Navi and she chuckled, "If I wasn't already aroused I would be now." She returned his glance and added to his tempting words, "Oh it's wonderful child. It's like nothing you've ever felt before, and nothing can beat it." She watched him a moment more as he stripped the girl down and started to taste her, then with Navi's cries echoing in her ears, she turned her attention back to Kyra who had tears of her own streaming down her face and into the ruined floor of the temple. Maeva chuckled and said softy in her ear. "Don't worry, you won't have to live with the knowledge that you've failed the girl for long. Soon all thought and feeling will be overruled by pure pain as I pull the flesh from your bones before you die." Then she swung her head down over Kyra's body and sunk her teeth into the back of the woman's knee before ripping out the flesh there, both causing tremendous pain and removing her ability to use that leg. She grinned as Kyra's scream rang through the debris and bounced off the many fallen rocks.
Swallowing the meat, clothes and all, she dropped her head for another bite but was distracted by an angry, "Hey!" The demoness looked up to see the silhouette of a man standing on the lip of a bit of roof that had survived the collapse. As soon as he had her attention he jumped in the air and then slammed his feet down as hard as he could on the damaged roof, the sudden impact having the desired effect and the ruined roof collapsed on Maeva and Kyra. The thief curled into a ball to make herself smaller hoping maybe she could avoid some damage from the fallen rocks and was surprised when she realized there was an invisible dome surrounding her, keeping even the dust from settling on her.

Af's head lowered as the pads of his feet struck the black decrepit stone floor and all he could think about was his people that he left behind. He felt like a coward for not staying and protecting everything he loved instead of running into an old underground lair. The dark passageway that he hid in had been the very palace that Lucis had sunk below the surface with Belail's trapped body. The dark lord himself had called this place home once and it had spanned on for miles back in it's day. It was designed like a trap for reason's unknown to him as it had many long corridors and chambers that twisted with every turn. But now most parts of it had concaved leaving only sections to wonder in and be used as secret passages ways to the castle that now stood over this ancient ruin. He remember his grandfather telling him stories about this place and when he was young he even ventured down here to try and explore but every door he tried to open seemed sealed which quickly resulted in a short adventure. He got curious once now as they started to pass an old door he stopped in front of its handle then began bracing it. The gaurds and loyal servants stopped with curiosity on their faces as well while they watched Af slowly turn the handle.

Abdiel gave out a weak laugh when he was told bluntly to shut up but he knew that she was right so closing his eyes he decided to rest thinking that it would be the best thing for him to do. His body remained numb as she chanted but her incantations seemed to be having some kind of effect on his body and it made him feel more at ease.

Chamuel shook his head at her persistence to fight with him about his staff and being as old as he was his memory didn't always serve him well. "I'm old and I don't always remember things..we all make mistakes so lets not dwell on them any longer!" He smiled and petted her head like most adults normally did to young children as he glanced over at Du'an after her last comment had been noticed."Agreed it seems so but I guess old habits die hard since I still feel responsible for my piece of the Calx." He glided back a bit when he saw Du'an suddenly rush towards him since he didn't think it would be pleasant to pass through the living and he was slightly taken back as much as Candle was form his request to return to the temple. He could see the urgency in his face and without asking any questions her reacted but the gate wouldn't open inside the temple,"You will have to enter the temple yourself again since the portal is only opening outside to where the dark lord is and my staff is in my bed chambers next to the secret passageway from where you retrieved the peice of the Calx. It lays on my bed and you point the staff at your enemy and chant alix habitum iet vicis but be swift to what you are doing I don't know how long it will hold Belail...if that is who you are planning to use it on?" His hand then pointed to the open gateway that revealed the entrance to the temple and despite his curiosity to why Du'an ever wished to return he contained his questions.

Belail's flesh sealed over his neck stopping the bleeding from continuing as he got his first bit into Navi and his mouth watered when the young deity's blood touched the tip of his tongue quenching his thirst for more power. It been only moments before having finished finished their perverse escapade Belail turned and grinned at his mate with a blood soaked grin. With his free hand he started stroking his member making it erect for her to see. "Hmmm yes well there isn't a moment that you aren't aroused but I can always make you ache for me!" He laughed madly as he watched Maeva manhandle Kyra and with her sexual advice being directed to Navi he figured that torturing her a little longer would be amusing, "Yes I think my lust has a point and you can't ever go without feeling it so why don't I treat you." Navi's eyes widen with worry and she thought it couldn't get any worse but it had as Belail plunged his massive dick into her tight vagina tearing her flesh open her tiny frame too small for him. She wailed out in agony as he bounced her on his penis dripping blood over his erection her screams only arousing his twisted desire. "Let me go!" Her words only drove Belail's wickedness to continue defiling her body knowing it might make her give up her will to fight. It gave him pleasure knowing that any chance of beauty that she might have saw in sex was demolished with violating her. Maeva's violent actions were eye pleasing to Belail and he quickened his pace as he imaged her being on his penis rather then Navi but before he could even get to his climax they were interrupted once more. He suddenly peered up at the silhouette his expression flat lining at the repetitiveness these vigilantes came and how they seemed to appear in waves. His line of sight following the massive amount of debris burying Maeva and his face distorted with rage. Slipping himself free from Navi's thighs he let her limp weak body fall to the ground just before baring the weight of his foot upon her chest. In the state of sudden vexation his lechery elapsed from his stiff member. His loins armor materialized draping over his inner thighs and posterior with an elaborate dragon disguised codpiece guarded his groin. His hands reared to the sky streaking bolts of sorcery in the direction of this new foe. He would have continued his firing if it weren't for Maeva's body smothered beneath rubble. Not wanting to lose his long awaited meal he knelt down swiftly snatching Navi by her red hair tangling it between his wicked claws and he dragged her near Maeva's grave. He roared out another death howl to show his displeasure with the intruder hoping that would be enough for the stranger to drop to his death. He thrust his arm forth with an open palm levitating the debris into the air he flung it towards the wall like flying shrapnel. He straddled Maeva rolling her onto her back he drew his breath into her lungs as to revive her unconscious mind. Once he knew Maeva was aware he stepped over her still dragging his prey behind him now hovering over the barrier that guarded Kyra. His fists slammed violently against the shield and like a feral beast his jaws hammered against its surface as if too chew his way through. It wouldn't be long before he would be able to make his way to Kyra the barrier waning under his strength almost beginning to fracture with his violent words filling the air, "I am going to crack every bone in your body and when I am through with you no one will recognize you! Once I finish you your dam mate is next but I think I got much more miserable plans for him!" His eyes pierced a burning red and with his dark abilities he had looks that could truly kill.

Navi was emotionally numb but the pain from her tattered arm and torn genitals left her in tears as she was yanked around the room like an old rag doll. Her body cold and naked she thought that there was no reason to live anymore as Belail had that ability to steal her happiness from her soul. She then let her body go limp letting herself be dragged around the room before passing out from the pain she was in.

Ariel jumped to her feet as she watched her master being avalanched with heavy debris from the roof but didn't dare intervene with what Belail was doing. Instead she began climbing the ruins like she had been trained to do this her whole life chasing after the man who had caused her master agony. "Hey yourself! Because when I catch up with you I'm going to kick your ass!" Belail's blood seemed to carry a potentiate effect on Ariel as she had already began to form into a demon.

Kabol now leaned his weight against the trunk of the tree that he had been trapped in earlier unwilling to find out what Moloch in the other Sanguis were up too. "Good go I don't need your help anyways..." Moloch laughed as it was only just a few seconds earlier that he had pulled him from the tree. "You are worthless Kabol and you always will be...not even your master cares about you anymore or you would have been out of the branches earlier!" His voice faded in the distance as he ran towards the fleeing Ventus and taking his orders from Belail he took no prisoners, murdering every one of them in his sights including woman and children. It seemed the Sanguis had grown in numbers as more joined Moloch in his small group and that much was true as the there had been more tribes of them outside of Moloch's rule. They had been in hiding and waiting for the day that their true master would return making the Ventus think that their kind was a dying race. They left no dead body unturned as they brought a svine and cart to load their kills onto the back of the hual knowing that Belail would be starved for blood.

Nirvana smirked as Abdiel laughed but didn’t stop her words. However her smile soon faded and she looked back down the road, worry for her brother fresh on her mind. She’d gone far enough that she couldn’t see the city any longer, which was probably a good thing ‘cause otherwise she’d just worry more if she could see the destruction. She felt like she needed to be doing something more than just sitting, she knew she was keeping Abdiel alive, but she felt as if she were being rather useless. She sighed and closed her eyes, telling herself to concentrate on what she was doing, even if she could get back in time to do anything she wouldn’t know where to go and would probably just get herself killed. Still, she couldn’t help but wish she hadn’t turned around.

Candle rolled her eyes, “You added in one last argument so I added in one last argument, deal with it. And don’t pat me, I’m not your pet,” she stuck her tongue out at him and floated out of arm’s reach and scowled at him before Du’an ran over.
Du’an listened intently to Chamuel’s instructions and then nodded and dashed towards the gateway with a hurried, "Thanks, I'm probably going to need your help to get out again."
"We can't get in the temple," Candle called after him, "Belail's blocked us off!" She didn't know if he'd heard her or not as he didn't respond before he ran out.
Du'an couldn’t help but close his eyes as he ran through, and the only reason he knew he’d gone from one place to another was that suddenly there was this dark force that felt as if it were weighing him down and he opened his eyes and had to skid to a stop to keep himself from running into the doors. He heard Navi scream inside and he nearly burst in right then, but he knew it would’ve just gotten him killed or enslaved and ruined everything. So, it was with extreme self-control, that he veered away from the door and to the side of the building. But when he rounded the corner he saw the back end of Oraix, and he skidded to a stop with a silent swear. He spun around and tried the other corner, this time the alley was clear and he dashed to the back of the temple, Navi’s screams and pleads driving him faster. As he ran he said with his mind in a tone as calm as he could force, Elda, he switched back to the formal honorific as a way of distancing himself a bit, if something goes wrong and he get’s that stinger of his in me you have to kill me. I’ve trained enough I can keep him out of my head with a little luck, but if I become his slave there’s nothing he won’t be able to pry from me. I’m sure you have some spell that will work long distance, if not Nirvana can find me and do it. For him it wasn’t really that horrid of a thought, he’d never really clung to life and had a tendency to get himself into more trouble than most because of it, for him, death would just put him out of his misery. Still running past the ruined crumbling walls he felt the ground shake and saw a cloud of dust as another part of the temple fell and then he heard heard a horrible roar that nearly knocked him off his feet. He hoped that was a good thing, maybe something had set him back, but as then he heard Navi’s cries fade to sobs and then silence altogether and was surprised by the sudden blurring of his vision which made him not see a rock that he tripped over and nearly fell because of. Blinking his eyes rapidly to clear his vision he had to tell himself repeatedly that it wasn’t too late, she wasn’t dead, he could still save her.
It felt like forever before he finally reached the back of the temple and found the secret passage.

Maeva chuckled as she watched Belail harden himself just to taint Navi and as he forced himself into the girl she could feel her own loins burning for him, feel her clitoris growing moist as Navi’s screams filled the air and she shuddered happily, her tail flicking between her legs to press against her vagina, rubbing against herself. Kyra screamed in rage under her and pleaded for them to release the girl, but the added screams only added to their pleasure and Maeva let her tongue loll out of her mouth as she watched Belail defile perfection, having no problem holding the woman down. Too excited about Belail’s actions she never saw or felt the presence of the man above her until he shouted at her and he seemed all too obvious.
Maeva snarled and ducked her head as the unstable roof caved in on her but before she could release the power to stop them an invisible force knocked her off her feet and broke her concentration then, with bone crushing force, the ceiling crashed down on her and everything went dark.
She gasped as her crushed body reinflated with Belail’s breath and as her shattered bones melded back together she let out a blood curdling snarl she said, “Oh now I’m really pissed.” She struggled to her feet but her bones couldn’t yet support her weight and she fell back to the ground with another snarl.
The shield around Kyra shuddered but held when Belail smashed a massive fist into it and then Kyra knew what had happened and who was responsible and she yelled out, “Don’t you dare get yourself killed for me!”

Dara was running through the streets with Candle, still unconscious, and Kleptein running beside him. They glanced over as they passed behind the temple and could hear a scream. They would’ve kept going but then Kyra’s voice rang out in a plea and they both skidded to a stop.
“Mom!” Kleptein cried out and started towards the ruins.
But Dara grabbed him and pulled him to a stop then thrust Candle’s body into his arms saying, “Go, get out of the city. The hole’s not far.” Without waiting for a reply he took off, scrambling up the wreckage to get to the roof.
“But Dad--” Kleptein started.
Dara glared at him, “Go, now!” Then he vanished over the wall.
Kleptein hesitated a moment then followed his father’s orders and took off towards the exit.
Dara ran across what was left of the roof as fast as he dared, with every step the mason work creaked and shuddered and a couple times he had to jump a hole or stop and retrace his steps, wasting valuable seconds, all the while the sobs of his wife tearing at him. He finally got to the end of what was still holding up and could feel it barely holding his weight as he peered over the edge. The first thing he saw was Belail and Navi and his stomach clenched as he understood the nature of the cries he’d been hearing then he heard his wife scream again, this time it wasn’t a plea, but a scream of pain and he looked down, just under him, just in time to see a giant, blue, tiger demon take a large chuck of meat out of Kyra’s leg and he lost his breath for a moment, knowing with that injury she’d never be able to use that leg. Still, he couldn’t let her die there and as the demon bent to take another bite he yelled out at it to get it’s attention. It worked perfectly as the tiger’s head peered up at him and as soon as it stepped off Kyra he jumped up and slammed his feet down on the weak ceiling, forming an energy shield around Kyra and himself and pushed off the falling rubble to keep himself from getting buried as he fell, as an added precaution he sent a beam of energy flying at Maeva's feet, knocking her to the ground. He managed the fall with no incident, but when he landed and rolled to reduce the impact he rolled right into a large rock that left him dazed for a moment or two and just as his vision was clearing again Belail roared in rage and sent his head spinning again. Soon he heard an angry roar and knew that while his distraction might’ve saved Kyra and interrupted Belail, it hadn’t killed the tiger-demon as he’d hoped, and now he had absolutely no clue of what to do from here.

Du’an dashed through the secret passage and as he exited he saw a man cowering behind a pile of rubble and then there was a snarl and a loud pound as if someone had slammed a fist into a thick door. The man winced at the pounding and then a frantic look came over his face as he heard a woman yelling a warning to not get killed. Then man caught sight of Du’an and Du’an made a gesture to be silent and stay put then he looked around and soon found the door to the priest’s bedchambers and ran inside. He saw the staff laying, as promised, on the bed and grabbed it, mentally rehearsing the phrase Chamuel had given him as he ran back out the door. As he came back out he saw Ariel, at least he thought it was Ariel, he couldn’t be entirely sure, she looked different, scrambling over the rubble to get at Dara. Du’an sprinted across over to him, jumping from boulder to rock to floor to boulder with the ease born of years of races through the forest with his siblings. As he neared them he pointed the staff a Ariel and said quietly, “Alix habitum iet vicis.”
Dara’s eyes grew wide as Ariel froze and opened his mouth to say something but Du’an gave him a look that said, “Make a noise and you’re dead,” and he clamped his mouth shut.
Keeping low, Du’an ran over and grabbed Ariel and pulled her off the rubble then slammed the butt of the staff into her head with a quiet apology before Dara scrambled over asking in a whisper, “Why don’t you just kill her?” he looked pointedly at the sword hanging off Du’an’s hip. He’d only seen Ariel for a moment before and she’d changed enough he didn’t recognize her now through his fear and worry.
Du’an sighed and shook his head, “Later. Okay, there’s two of them, and this thing only works on one person at a time, do you have a power?”
Dara nodded, “I’m an energy manipulator.”
“Good, then I’m going to need you to shield the tiger while I freeze Belail, we won’t have long.”
Dara frowned, “I don’t have much energy left, I won’t be able to hold her long.”
“Hopefully,” Du’an muttered, looking up as if looking directly at Candle and Chamuel, “we won’t have to, but if you’re running too low you can take a little from me.” He looked at Dara, who shrugged and nodded, and then climbed over the rubble until he could see Belail. Without hesitation he raised the staff and, hoping his blow had knocked out, or at least subdued Ariel, he repeated the chant, freezing the demon in time.
By now Maeva had recovered and she jumped to her feet and leapt after them, but before she could get two steps Dara came up behind Du’an and removed his shield from Kyra and wrapped it around Maeva, holding her in place. The demoness roared but the sound was contained within the shield and Dara sneered at her as he ran past her to Kyra, flinching each time she pounded at the barrier.
Du’an was right beside Dara as they ran and as soon as he saw Navi’s naked, torn, blood covered body, he knew exactly what had happened and his heart shattered for her. As Dara helped Kyra up, Du’an cut off Belail’s fingers so he wouldn’t have to take the time to untangle Navi’s hair, or cut her hair, then, even though he knew it wouldn’t do a thing in the long run, he couldn’t help but pulled his sword out and run it across Belail’s stomach so that when the demon unfroze his insides would spill out, and then, for good measure, he flicked his sword down, slicing off Belail’s still erect penis, and then flicked it between his legs, also castrating Belail. Wishing he could do more to hurt the demon as much and more as he’d hurt Navi, but knowing it wasn’t possible with whatever time they had left, he gathered up the unconscious Navi and joined Dara and Kyra yelling into the air, “A little help would be nice now!”
§
As soon as Du’an left, Candle shook her head and pulled her legs up to sit cross legged as if she were a kid sitting on the floor playing a game. Something told her to close her eyes and concentrate on Du’an and when she did she was surprised that she could see through his eyes, maybe what the priest had said about her was right. She saw everything he did as he ran around the temple and inside, she was slightly annoyed she couldn’t hear anything but didn’t realize that that was a good thing, as everything Du’an was hearing was torturing him at the moment. She watched as he found the staff then used it on Ariel, confused, like Dara, as to why he didn’t just kill her, but didn’t even say anything to herself about it. When he looked at the sky she tensed and muttered to the priest, “Get ready, there are more this time and I think both of us may be needed to get them out.” She fell silent again as she watched Du’an freeze Belail and then watched him watch Maeva get caught and then a gasp escaped her as they saw Navi and she knew why he’d gone back. She understood the blurring of Du’an’s vision, not realizing it was at the perfect time as it kept her from seeing Du’an whack off Belail’s genitals. Then his vision cleared again as he blinked the tears back once more and picked up Navi and as he ran over to Dara and Kyra she opened her eyes, severing their link, and said, “It’s time, let’s go,” and then dove back into the realm of the living.
§
Amaya had watched everything with more apathy than anything else. Her facial expression had not changed from the fight with Uriel to the mutilated body of the priest to seeing Du’an almost get turned to a slave before a massive rock broke Belail’s concentration, her eyes had only narrowed as she’d tried to get a better look at the spirit that had saved Du’an, but it had vanished before she could make any features out. She raised her eyebrows as Belail turned on Maeva and then rolled her eyes as his anger turned to lust and found she couldn’t turn her eyes away as he penetrated her violently. As she watched what would’ve been torture to anyone but Maeva, who appeared to be enjoying it beyond all reason, and at the same time returning the torture, she hoped vehemently that Belail never decided to stick his member in any part of her. She was only able to tear her eyes away when Navi was chased into the temple and soon after heard Oriax’s screams, but still her expression did not change. She watched impassively as Kyra came in and failed to try and save Navi, and then was thrown to Maeva like a master throws a treat to a pet. It was only when Belail started to torture Navi that she had to look away and cover her ears, not being able to keep herself from imagining that being Moon, or Candle. Even after Belail’s “gift” she still couldn’t handle that, she wouldn’t try to stop him as she knew it would only get herself and the fox children killed, but she couldn’t stand watching or hearing it. She couldn’t help but feel sorry for her mother, the mother she hated, as Navi’s screams passed through her hands and she could still hear it. She’d found her mother one time and learned that she had been rapped as well and that’s why she’d abandoned Amaya as she couldn’t handle raising a half-Sanguis child that had come about in such a way. This had never soothed her hate for her mother, it wasn’t Amaya’s fault what had happened, why did she have to suffer for it? If anything it had only exacerbated the hatred. Still, now she could almost understand the fear that had driven her to abandon her child. She opened her eyes and looked up as the building started to shake and saw the last of the roof collapse onto Maeva and then watched as Ariel dashed off to find the offender. She wasn’t sure what she should do until she watched Du’an and Dara incapacitate her masters and she hissed and, keeping in the shadows moved after them.
§
Dara was looking as if he were about to pass out when Du’an joined the two of them and he said, “I can’t keep this up much longer. We need to get out of here.” Maeva’s enraged roars had started to become audible and Du’an knew the shield was getting weaker.
“Take some of my energy,” Du’an said in a weak voice as he got closer to the older man.
Dara laid his hand on Du’an’s arm and Du’an could feel his energy draining slowly and he said, "Come on, we need to get outside."
§
Amaya’s progress was completely silent as she ran towards the four of them, but the rubble wasn’t so silent and as she ran a couple rocks moved and fell to the floor. Kyra and Du’an turned as they escaped the temple, and Kyra gasped as she instantly recognized Amaya even through the black fur and for an instant she thought Amaya was there to help them, and she started to stop Du’an from raising his sword, but the she saw the angry expression on Amaya’s face and knew that her Sanguis side had taken hold. She turned and buried her face into Dara’s chest as Amaya prepared to leap at them, but just before her feet left the ground Candle appeared between her and them with an expression of such rage that Amaya locked up and lost her footing, stumbling and falling before she got to them.
Dara gasped and fell to his knees and Du’an turned to see Maeva break from her prison and bound after them with an enraged roar. “Now please!” Du’an yelled catching Kyra before she fell without Dara’s support.
Despite wanting to stay and talk to Amaya, Candle turned back to Du’an and the others and pulled them back to the realm between realms.
Du’an dropped to his knees as soon as Candle released them and he pulled Navi close and this time couldn’t stop the tears that blurred his vision and started to pour down his cheeks and drip onto her face. Any courage he might’ve felt, and all the anger he’d had toward Belail was gone now replaced by pure fear, sorrow, and extreme anger at himself for letting it happen.
Dropping to the ground beside her husband Kyra glared and Du’an and said angrily, “How . . . . how could you leave her alone? This is all your fault.” She brushed the hand Dara placed on her arm and went on as if he’d never tried to stop her rant. “He’s taken everything from this poor girl, and all you had to do was not leave her alone. You don’t deserve the trust she’s placed in you. You’re a--”
“I know!” Du’an shouted at Kyra without looking at her. He didn’t try to get defensive at all as he completely agreed with everything she’d said. “I know,” he repeated in a sob barely above a whisper. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, this is all my fault and I can’t make up for it. I deserve all the pain I’ve experienced, all that I will experience and more for letting this happen to her and I’m a horrid person that doesn’t deserve life. I know.” He started as a hand touched his shoulder and he looked up to see Uriel as he knelt beside them.
Uriel didn’t look at Du’an but kept his eyes trained on Navi as he removed his hand from Du’an’s shoulder and placed it on Navi’s cheek. He closed his eyes and started to speak slowly and Navi’s wounds started to heal. The muscles in her arm that Belial had bit through regrew and reattached before fresh skin flowed over the wound. A few tears slipped down his own cheeks as he had to concentrate on Navi’s shredded vagina and cervix to heal her there and he knew the physical pain she must’ve been in, but couldn’t imagine the emotional pain. As he healed her wounds all of her blood still on her skin flowed back into the wounds while any of Belail’s blood that might’ve dripped on her before his wounds had healed evaporated and turned to nothingness. When he was finished healing her he changed spells and then her naked body was covered by a perfectly fitting white shirt and a pair of white pants. “Thank you,” Du’an whispered and pulled her slightly closer. Uriel nodded and then went to Kyra. He placed his hand on her leg just above her knee and healed her wound there, she groaned and gritted her teeth as the pain of the healing spell coursed through her leg, when that was healed he moved on to the ones in her waist, back, and chest, plus any others she might’ve procured. She thanked him and tested her leg to make sure it worked and was relived when it bent properly. Then Uriel placed his hand on Dara’s shoulder and let some of his energy flow into the man.

Brogan sighed with relief as he watched Kleptein squeeze himself and Candle through the hole in the wall and he stepped out of the trees to make himself visible and waved the kid over. Kleptein caught sight of Brogan and took off towards him. "Where are your parents?" Brogan asked as he took Candle's body from him then handed her to an older woman.
Kleptein shook his head and looked over his shoulder, taking a minute to catch his breath before he said, "We were passing the temple when we heard Mom scream. Dad went in to get her and I kept going 'cause of Candle." His over worked legs failed him then and he started to fall before Brogan caught him and then lowered him to the ground. As Kleptein recovered from his burdened run across the city he looked around at the group of thieves that had gotten out by the same exit and assembled in the treeline. Less than half of the entire group had made it, Kleptein scanned each face looking for Aluin, his best friend, but didn't see him among the group and he shuddered and hung his head. He was surprised that he'd made it out, but with his parents still in there he didn't think they'd be able to withstand Belail's power much longer, and that was if they even survived whatever had attacked his mother. As he dropped his head on his knees he started to shake a little, not sure if it was from exhaustion, fear, or sorrow, and not really caring either. He looked up as he could hear a commotion in the distance and noticed the entirety of the group all looking in the same direction. He followed their gaze and saw a large group of Sanguis running towards the main gate of the city. The thieves were well enough hidden and far enough away that the Sanguis didn't notice them.
As they ran out of sight Kleptein dropped his head back to his knees and heard one of the men say, "We should go help."
"And what?" Brogan challenged, "Get ourselves killed for people that would rather see us hanged for our crimes? No thanks."
"Some of our own could be over there Brogan!"
"Then let them use the skills they've been developing all their lives to sneak away to safety."
"No honor among thieves, 'eh Brogan?" another added.
"Honor doesn't keep my neck intact."
"Then don't help," a woman said and Kleptein could hear people rustling about and the sounds of weapons being checked, "someone needs to stay with the elders and children anyway."
Kleptein picked his head up and watched some of the others prepare to attack the Sanguis. Too tired to stand up, much less fight, he decided to stay and help protect the others. He unbuckled his sword, it was nice, he'd stolen it from a young soldier who'd fallen asleep on duty, and tossed it to one of the women preparing to leave. Then he watched nearly all of the men of their group and most of the women as well run off to attack the Sanguis from behind, hoping to at least cause some confusion.

Caden, the soldier that had been Caflice's right hand man and was acting in his place in his absence, walked just ahead of Af and the others. He had wanted badly to go look for his Sargent and friend but his duty to the king came first and he'd convinced the king to flee Belail's assault through the secret passages. He stopped walking as the soft thuds of Af's feet stopped and he turned and saw Af about to open the door and frowned, "Sir, I understand your curiosity, but we're in a hurry and whatever's behind any of these doors is probably better left hidden and trapped."

The priest only laughed at Candle as he was through with letting her get a rise out of him and he was about to pat her head once more just to be a tease until she glided out of reach. “Looks like some one needs a dirt nap maybe you should lay down for a bit.” His said after he finished giving Du’an instructions on where his staff lay and he gave a slight smile that only seemed to be false happiness, “Well if I’m still here I will be glad to help but I’m not sure.” It was like he knew something that Du’an and the others didn’t as he had once been part of an ancient order that followed the laws of Belail and it would soon come back to haunt him.

Lilura frowned at the thought of loosing her grandson but knew that he would be better off then living a lie. She didn’t wish that upon his free will, “Of course my child but lets just hope that it doesn’t come to that. I will pray for your safe return.” She knew the risk that she had put on Du’an’s shoulders and more importantly what she was asking of the priest to do as it was his soul that would be at steak.

Navi’s eyes opened as she was relieved to see Du’an embracing her and she soon let out all her tears at the horrifying events that she had went through with Belail. Never once did she blame him for leaving her behind. Her only thought was that it was all her fault for being so persistent on traveling with them and despite the physical pain being absent her emotional scars were very much exposed. She had been confused to why Belail had wanted her and remembered that he had called her a deity at one point but thought he was mistaken. Her arms wrapped around Du’an in a loving hold feeling like it was the safest place to be, “It was horrible he wouldn’t listen to me…he…he…” Her sobs grew louder as the vision of her violent rape played back in her mind, “He isn’t going to stop…I just know it he is going to hunt me down and kill me like that e’lic who killed my father.”

Ariel sat up slowly looking about as she was in a daze she had no clue to what had happened to her but Belail’s anger sent her cowering in the shadows. She had failed them both for not stopping the incident from happening and knew that it would be their wrath that they would release upon her. She searched for Amaya and Oriax’s presence wondering if they had already been punished only relieved to see Belail to preoccupied on the rift than she slowly started to walk up behind Maeva. “

Belail had been so focused on causing harm to Kyra that he hadn’t noticed Dara hiding in the rubble. His temper being one of his many flaws gave Du’an his opportunity to regain entry to the cathedral. His fist banging down on the barrier drowned out any noise around him and when he realized that it would take much more then brute strength to sever its power the palm of his hand lit up like a sapphire star burning in the night sky. He was about to release his sorcery upon the shield that protected Kyra until he felt a familiar magic flood his body which froze him into place. It was the very same tool that he crafted for the dark guardian of time. His hate fueled throughout his soul as he was reminded of his traitorous order that served him so well long ago. The tools where designed not to work against the dark lord but it seemed that priest at some point tampered with its abilities using divine powers. The crystal at the tip of the staff cracked its oath had been broken to Belail and it would soon shatter at the pressure of Belail’s strength. Even though his body was frozen in time his mind was not and he was aware of what was transpiring. The spell of time now slipping he slowly inched a bit trying to tear from it's hold. His fingers tightening around Navi's red locks he felt Du'an searing through them with his blade. His vessel burst into a dark smoldering blaze filling the air with falling soot when he finally freed himself from the staffs hold. His form taking it's time to regenerate visually showed every step of the process in retaking solidity. Like a blast of light imploding upon itself Belail cried out stepping forth when his body suddenly materialized. Belail turned his head in time to see them escape out the temple and was enraged when he noticed that Oriax was missing from his post. “Dam all of you worthless servants can’t you do anything right.” Belail then breezed through Maeva as his body formed into a vapor he glided swiftly outside the temple doors just to see them disappear in a rift. Realizing Oriax had been cold cocked on the side of the temple entrance and figured it had been the work of those who had just taken Navi from his grasp. The spirit realm meant only as a holding cell for waiting souls to return to the dark lord's power he would hesitate to show the fools they weren't the least bit safe from his grasp. His body tore through the rift that had just been sealed and with a gaped jaw his ridged teeth seared through the flesh of Du’an’s back, “You think that you can get away with humiliating me?!” Belail laughed maliciously as his claws dug deep into Du’an’s scalp jerking his head back as he grabbed a handful of the Aduros’s hair he aimed to drag him to his death. The fresh portal had given him entrance to the realm of the dead and with locked eyes now set on Navi who was in the arms of Du’an he planned on having them both for a meal. “All of you traitor’s taint my soils with this Deity bull shit and since you don’t value the life that I have so generously given to you then you can all perish. You were made by my hand and you will die by it!”
Navi let out a scream in horror at the sight of the demon and she tried with all her might to keep herself and Du’an within the realm, “Nooo leave him alone.” She could feel the terror building back up as she feared that she would have to go through the same torture she had been in only moments earlier.
Chamuel had been the keeper of time in Belail’s order and he knew that any who wielded his staff against the dark lord under his permission would get him permanently destroyed. Although back then he went by another name Gaap but with his priest robs and aged look Belail didn’t recognize him. He had fibbed about the Calx giving him eternal life because he never wanted anyone to know his true reason for longevity and that was he was made up of Belail’s dark power and in the end he would make the demon that he betrayed stronger. He and the other members of order had been all designed that way and once his worship to Belail had come to an end he had started to age becoming weaker as time went on and it would be his last chance to truly save someone else's life. He couldn’t let Du’an and Navi be taken from the realm of the dead so betraying every thing he had been teaching about Lucis he said a dark prayer to Belail offering up his soul as a sacrifice. His youth returned to his tired face and his priest garbs burned from his body leaving him back in his cloak of old which immediately got Belail’s attention. “You piece of shit you pray to me now after all these years and you give me nothing how dare you show your face, Gaap.” Belail snarled at him in rage as it gave Du’an and Navi the opportunity to escape the demon’s grasp. Chamuel stepped near his old master ready to take his punishment, “I know master I have failed you… all of us have…. but don’t blame them…our offspring for this…they only go by what they have been taught…blame me….take me instead and do what you will.” Looking down he lifted his staff into his hands that had been brought into the realm before nearing Belail’s captives. The vile chant he rehearsed took affect Chamuel's spirit was weaved over with flesh and bone without a second thought he charged the demon king shoving Du'an and Navi from his path as he did. His weight then bared down on Belail knocking both him and his master out from the portal before conforming under Belail's old order.

A fury washing over Belail from another intervening in his plans he violently thrashed himself upon his now readjusting follower. The rift mending from being overly abused he dared not make a third attempt through the same path. Chamuel still subconscious of his rightful nature fought his old master hoping it would be enough to distract him from his task. Of course Chamuel knew him best and he was right the dark lord's temper had held his attention. However Belail was aware that it would only be a matter of time before he would come across them but how much damage would they cause with their freedom? He hadn't the patience to find out but instead of slithering back in the spirit realm he summoned a power that would do it for him so that his most loyal assassin's would be able to track them down.

Af turned and looked at Caden for only a brief moment to respond as he postponed his movements to open the door, “ I hear your concerns but I must know what lies behind these doors and I may never get that chance again…what if it holds valuable information that could lead to Belail’s demise and I missed out on that opportunity.” His attention went back to what he had been doing and his hand twisted the knob but no use it was locked. He was about to turn and walk away but noticed something strange a carving in the door in a shape of a hand. Without thinking of the consequences he placed his palm on it and noticed that it moved when he applied pressure. The doors mechanism had been discovered that if he pushed it in while turning the handle it would allow him access. What he didn’t know was that it would inflect harm but he soon found out when he preformed the action. Pressing on the hidden lock, prongs shot out piercing his left palm as well as the other hand on the handle which extracted a blade from the key hole jabbing it into his flesh. He screamed out in agony and for a brief moment the door light a brilliant blue that carved throughout the entire wall sending an echo of each door on that side of the hall to unlock. Despite the pain he was in he opened the door that had unknowingly forced him to make a sacrifice to Belail. It was the price to pay for wanting to know who the demon was. The door creaked as it was slowly pried open from its seal and a heavy amount of dust filled the air for it hadn’t been disturbed for more then two hundred years. When the air had cleared he tried to make out the contents that might be within its walls but the vast room was pitch black in darkness. Nothing could be seen but the stench was awful as it carried the smell of mold and decay. Af had to turn his head and stop himself from heaving before getting the stomach to enter he had to find something that could light the area, “Caden…hand me your torch I need a light to illuminate the room.” Seeing a pale light flickering slightly out of his view he turned his head and there within the room was a pair of gleaming blue eyes that lit the surface of a coffin along with a few muffled words that didn’t seem to be in a language he knew. The apparition that had been there so swiftly had suddenly disappeared as fast as it came without giving Af the chance to respond, “Quickly hand me that light! I believe I've seen a coffin. Why would a demon have a casket in his palace?? If not that we might find a swifter way out of here with a bit of knowledge.” Despite seeing an unwelcoming spirit he persisted to investigate the chambers as if he hadn't seen the presence that had been hovering over the tomb.

There had been very few Ventus that had escaped the daggers and blades of the Sanguis and those who were afraid to die took their chances by returning back with in the city walls. It had been what Moloch and other Sanguis had wanted hoping that the Ventus would rather live under the order of the dark lord instead of dying. Moloch cried out at them through the city entrance giving out a little speech, "You chose wisely...It is so much better to live under the protection of the dark lord then try and fight against his rule. Those who wish to join the master will get their free will back as a Sanguis instead of living like a lifeless slave but be swift before the curse takes hold." With his words he was able to convince a few Ventus to give their selves over. Leaving only a small group of Ventus behind that had been able to flee from the horrific massacre away from the city walls they cried out as they were being continuously chased down by the dark occult. Running past Nirvana they never even noticed she was even there as the barrier she had placed around herself made her invisible It wasn't long before the Sanguis could be seen along with a few demons tagging behind them attempting to destroy any strangler Ventus left behind. They wanted none to try and band together in efforts to start a rebellion against their master.

Kabol scampered between the legs of Molochwhen he entered though the city gates that now had a complete barrier around it he was in search of Maeva. The barrier would allow anyone to enter but getting out would be the difficult part as he wondered through the wrecked town he remembered them wanting to go to the temple so heading in that direction he noticed Belail outside and was certain that Maeva was close by. He was right as he seen her near the temple entrance but he had no clue to who was behind her but it didn't matter at the moment he went to complain at her, "Thanks a lot for all the help back there....I risk my ass to lure Uriel to the both of you and what thanks do I get when I ask for a little help....Nothing...zilch...notta! I was trying to make it up for screwing up." His bitching was soon interrupted by Belail who had turned to see if Maeva was alright after he had cooled his temper down. A hiss of air escaped his lips as he spoke almost with a bit of concern, "Maeva rise you whore!" He sauntered over to her while morphing back into his beast form he kicked kabol out of the way as his paw curled under her chin, "I don't know about you but I have had about enough of these Ventus toiling my plans so let us not delay them any further. Round up the accursed Ventus cur they will soon server a better purpose, my purpose. Outside this barrier there will be a beacon flaring like the color of blood off in the distance that will be the place that you remain with our slaves. The Sanguis will follow you outside the gates while I raise my old fortress out from it's grave. Don't concern yourself with strays they should listen to your every command." His paws then pushed up against her breast applying enough pressure to knock Maeva on her back. In a teasing mannor as he lowered his hind quarters just enough to brush himself along her genitals before licking her cheek, "Did you get all that my blood lust or do you need me to repeat it again?" He snarled in a seductive voice as his eyes explored her ravenous form he ran his claw over her lip in a teasing manner before stepping over her head letting his genitals pass Maeva's view.
The large mass of enslaved Ventus that had been trapped within the walls of the city seemed to be livelier then they had been since the curse had taken hold at the commands of Maeva’s alluring holler and like a flock of sheep following their Shepard they moved towards the city entrance. Although those how were not completely captivated by the curse still seemed compelled to take orders. Gathering at the front gates the Sanguis waited for Maeva to lead the new slaves to the distinct red beam of light that pulsated out from the sky and down to the ground where the plush grass illuminated a bright crimson.

Candle rolled her eyes at the priest’s nap comment and said, “You know, it’s people like you that make me hate most adults. You are all so condescending, always thinking you know best, and never letting us make our own decisions, it irks.” She didn’t give much thought to his reply thinking that he might just be being pulled to the afterlife, she had no clue what was really going through his head.

Half expecting her to hate him, Du’an was both surprised and relieved when Navi embraced him back and he held her close, hating so much to see her cry. The only time he’d seen her cry before now had been when he’d broken the news to her that there was no baby fairy and then it had been kind of cute, now it just broke his heart even more. “I’m sorry, Navi. I’m so sorry. This is all my fault.” He knew she was right, he knew Belail wouldn’t stop until he’d finished what he’d started with her and that Belail would hunt him as well, he’d already become a thorn in the side of the demon-king and there was no way he’d get away with that. Even so he’d do anything in his power to keep her safe, even if it meant becoming Belail’s slave, he’d willingly do it to keep any harm from coming to her again. “I won’t let him, Navi. I swear. I’ll do anything in my power to keep you safe. I won’t let him hurt you again.” As if to specifically refute those words and at the same time prove what he’d been thinking, at that moment pain burned through his back as Belail latched onto him and he cried out in pain. He released Navi and pushed her away as the demon dragged him back towards the portal, he wouldn’t let her help him if it would mean Belail getting her again. He watched Chamuel as the priest’s appearance went from one that worshiped light to one that worshiped darkness and he gritted his teeth as he thought for sure that he’d rejoined Belail and was about to help him catch his prey, but then the man, now in his prime of age, pleaded with Belail on their behalf and then shoved him and Navi away from the Dark Lord.
“Nooooo!” Candle screamed as Chamuel pushed Belail from the portal and she saw the priest consumed just before the portal moved. Despite the old man having annoyed her to no end she hadn’t wanted that to happen to him, she’d hoped he could tell her about her heritage, but now as far as she knew no one left alive could tell her, if she’d been solid she’d’ve punched something then. “Why is it that everyone I know turns evil?” she said angrily, trying to hide the grief that she hadn’t expected to feel.
“Candle?!” Kyra said as she recognized the girl’s voice.
Candle turned towards them, the first chance they’d had to get a look at her face, “Late!” Then she turned back towards Du’an, Navi, and Uriel, the deity had moved a bit away to give Du’an and Navi a little space and hadn’t been able to make it back to them before Chamuel had sacrificed himself to save them, but now he was standing just a few feet away from them and he stopped walking as the spirit girl fixed her angry eyes on him, “I’ve seen two brave men give their souls to save you three so you can help this world. I swear if you make their sacrifices in vain I will make you regret it.” In that moment her opinion of the priest had gone from thinking he was a coward who’d clung to life too strongly to a brave man that had willingly given his soul for the greater good.
“What?” Uriel asked, he hadn’t actually seen Caflice save him and as such wasn’t sure what she meant.
Candle darted towards him and got in his face, not bothering to be polite to the deity, “The soldier, Caflice, knowingly and willingly gave his soul to save your life, a process that got Chamuel killed.”
Uriel took a small step back and shook his head, now feeling ashamed for having given up earlier, “I’m sorry, I didn’t know.”
Du’an looked at Candle and nodded at her, understanding her warning, but didn’t say anything before turning back to Navi to make sure she hadn’t gotten hurt. “Are you okay?” he asked, not concerned with the blood streaming down his face and back from the wounds Belail had given him.
Dara slowly got to his feet and walked towards Candle. Sensing his approach she turned and looked at him, “Candle?” he said, still not sure he believed it was her, she had still been alive when he’d given her to his son, so if she were dead he feared that meant Kleptein was too.
Her anger dissipated as she looked at the man who’d been the closest thing she’d had to a father, she smiled slightly and then floated over to him, “Yes, Dara, it’s me, Candle.”
“Is . . . is Kleptein . . . is he . . .”
“Is he what?” Candle asked cocking her head, “Is he dead like me? How should I know? I haven’t seen him up here.”
“But I left you with him, a few minutes ago before I went to help Kyra, you were still alive then.”
Candle giggled and shook her head, “I’ve been dead nearly all day, that wasn’t me. Well, it was my body, but it wasn’t me in it.”
“What?” Kyra asked coming up beside Dara.
“It’s a long story, I’ll tell you later. As for Klep,” she closed her eyes and did the same thing she’d done with Du’an and for a moment saw only darkness. She frowned as she thought he was dead for a moment but then he opened his eyes and she looked upon her body as one of the older women of the group tended to the wound from where Oriax had smashed her head to knock her out. “Well that’s disconcerting,” she muttered opening her eyes and smiling at them, “Your son is fine, he’s with a few others of the group.”
They sighed in relief and thanked her.
“We need to be going,” Uriel said, looking down at Du’an and Navi. Du’an nodded and got to his feet then helped Navi to hers.
“Candle,” Du’an said, looking at the spirit girl, when she turned to look at him he continued, “I can’t thank you enough for helping us at the risk of your soul. I can handle the three of us, but I imagine they would like to get back to whoever they can find left alive that they know.”
Candle nodded and smiled, “Don’t worry, I’ve got them.”
Dara left Kyra’s side and grasped Du’an’s forearm saying: “You saved the life of me and my wife, is there any way I can repay you?”
Du’an shook his head with a smile, “No, I wouldn’t’ve been able to save Navi if it hadn’t been for your help holding Belail's mate back. You’ve already repaid me. So thank you, Dara. And if we should meet again, you can call me Du’an.” Dara nodded and they released each other. Then Du’an turned back to Uriel and, wrapping his arm around Navi’s waist, repeated, “Pugna, Uriel,” as he raised his hand. The array grew visible again and he said, “This is going to feel funny, but it’s not going to hurt any.” Then he placed his hand on Uriel’s chest and the three of them had the peculiar, but painless sensation of every molecule of their bodies turning to nothing, then after a moment the process reversed itself and they found themselves standing on the same alter that Du’an had brought Uriel to after his first battle with Belail, the same alter where Du’an had met Navi.

“And what if it’s a trap to steal the life and soul of whoever opens it?” Caden retorted. He leaned his long lance against a wall, it was his preferred weapon, but in such close quarters as the passageway allowed his sword would be better and he pulled his out just in case as he watched Af try to open the door. He sighed in relief as it didn’t open and started to sheath his sword when Af placed his other hand on the door, “No--” he started, but he was too late as his king pushed in the panel and then howled in pain. He jumped forward to pull Af away from the door, but the light blinded him momentarily and then when he could see again the door was already open and he waved his hand in front of his face to clear the dust and smell as he moved towards Af and the door, furrowing his brow as Af got excited about a coffin, what was exciting about a coffin? Instead of handing Af the torch, and knowing he had no chance of convincing the king to leave, he lifted his sword in front of him and his torch higher over his head and stepped into the room in front of his king. Looking about warily and trying to find anything that might be a threat to Af.

Nirvana looked up as she heard screaming and her brow furrowed as she saw people running past. She grinned, “Oh good, now I have an excuse to do something other than sit here.” She gently laid Abdiel’s head on the ground saying, “Don’t die, it’ll vex me if you do.” She grabbed her sword from her svine as Sanguis came into view chasing the Ventus then she dashed out after them. She used her sword to decapitate the demon closest to her then shot a ball of white fire at a Sanguis just before it killing a fleeing woman.

Maeva had taken off after the intruders as soon as she’d broken through Dara’s shield, but as soon as Belail went through her she slowed to a walk so as not to get in his way. As she got to the door she snarled at Amaya and slammed a massive paw into her chest, throwing her roughly to the side saying, “You worthless, bitch. You were right there. What harm do you think that spirit could’ve done to you? Worthless coward.” She stalked to the doorway in time to see Belail being pushed from the portal by the priest and then consumed. She watched silently as he sent the bounty-hunter-soul after their prey, her ears flat and her tail flicking in irritation as she muttered to herself, “I am going to rip that spirit to shreds if I ever see her again.” She glared at Kabol as he appeared and started to complain at her, she was in no mood for him right now and she bared her long teeth and snarled at the rat. She was about to berate him when Belail turned and spoke to her and his tone made her visibly relax and she smiled as he swaggered over to her, not even twitching as he kicked Kabol aside. She let him lift her chin up and her ears flicked forward as she intently listened to his instructions. Nodding, she started to move to carry out his orders when he flipped her over on her back, she chuckled and pressed herself up against his genitals as her own tongue ran along his jaw and she said, “I got every word, My King. You’re such a tease, Love, I can’t wait.” She smirked as he stepped over her as if to show her that despite Du’an’s blade, he was still quite whole and she reached a paw up and let it caress his penis and testicles as he walked. When he was clear of her she rolled to her feet with a smirk. She hadn’t noticed Ariel behind her, but now that her back was to the door she was facing the ex-deity and she smirked as she looked at her changing, naked body. Rearing up on her hind legs she planted a paw on Ariel’s chest and pushed her to the ground, making sure she landed hard on her brittle wings. “You, I’ll give you a simple task since you appear to be incapable of doing anything more complicated than tying your shoes. Take them,” she pointed at the bodies of Caflice and Chamuel, “and when Belail finishes raising his dominion, mount them at the main entrance as a warning to any who think to rebel that neither their king nor their god can save them.” She stepped off Ariel and glared at Amaya, “You help her.” With those orders she leapt into the air, flapping her large, powerful wings and raising through the air quickly. She soared over the ruined city and opened her maw wide letting out a loud roar that had a command built into the fabric of the sound for all the new slaves to gather at the main entrance to the city so she could lead them out. She did this a couple times before she had covered the entire city and then flew to the gate to await them. She landed on the top of the wall and looked out over the city to watch them gather.
