FFVIII: Final Cry (Ishu and BlisteredBlood)

Ishu was looking around at everything when Alphonse tugged on her hand. She blinked and looked at him, then toward the cafe he was gesturing at. She smiled at it. The cafe was a quaint little place with an eclectic vibe. The food was sure to be good! Or, at least, there would be some variety.

It looks great! The girl hurried forward with her bodyguard, excited to see what kinds of food awaited them.

___

She looked through the bags to make sure everything was there, "Hold on kid." She had already started to, carefully, put everything into the travel bag. Surprised that it all fit, she extinguished the evidence (the shopping bags) with a Fira spell. "I am pretty sure you are supposed to escort me to Deling City." She motioned to him to turn around before she stripped down and changed into the spandex/latex blend pants and tank top, "Besides, I have some business at Obel Lake that needs to be taken care of before we keep going." She folded her old uniform and stuffed it into the bag before slinging it up onto her back. "So, are you going to see this through or what?"

"See? I knew you'd like something like this." Alphonse answered Ishu's joyful tone of "voice" with a his face as he continued to lead her over to the cafe in question, only to get pulled along there anyway. Needless to say, despite he was getting a little bit aggravated by her basically ragdolling him between here, there and everywhere including all points in between, Alphonse figured that since this was an easy day for them, she basically had every right in carting him around.

-----------------------------------

Heishiro paused before he got too far away from her and turned his head towards her only slightly before keeping his head aimed forward without even turning to face her anyway, even as she told him that she had something to do in both Deling City and then Obel Lake. At that point, Heishiro grimaced before looking to his left for a moment and looked downward.

"Look. I already stated that I have business where I'm going." Heishiro answered in a straightforward tone of voice. "So after I drop you off, I basically pretend that you don't even exist. I don't talk to you, you don't talk to me." He added as his eyes narrowed when he spoke again, his tone about as stiff as Mithril. "That being said, I'm hoping you got someone with you who's capable of watching your back, because I'm not once we get to Deling City."

She stopped when they got inside the cafe and looked out the doors. They had the option to eat outside, if they wanted to, and this excited her. After we get our food, would you like to eat outside? She didn't want to make him do it and she was more than willing to eat inside if he wanted to.

(is it going to be like Starbucks where you order, sit and then go grab your stuff?)

___

"Yeah, I can watch my own back," She glared over at him, "Why would I walk all the way to Deling City and then back here to get to Obel Lake? The lake is right over Timber. We can go there now." She adjusted the straps on her bag before continuing, "Now let's get over there, finish my business, then get our asses to Deling, alright?"

"Sure, I don't see why not. Besides, it's a nice enough day for it." Alphonse answered with a smile and a nod of his head as he then followed her into the cafe then glanced up at the menu once they were inside.

(That was my original idea. XD)

-----------------------------------

"Good." Heishiro answered with a venomous tone of voice. "Then what say we get over to Deling so I can head for Obel Lake? Besides, it's already apparent that you're a bigger pain in my ass than you've already made yourself out to be." He added as he then began to walk ahead of her.

( Alright, I was making sure )

She smiled at him, happy that he agreed with the option. She glanced up at the menu and almost immediately found what she wanted. She ordered a fruit parfait and a bottle of water.

___

Her eyebrow quirked up, "So you don't want to get your personal business out of the way now? I just threw you a bone- why don't you take it?" She was trying to hide a smirk until he turned away, and then she let it stretched halfway across her face. "You can't let someone help you do something? How do you think I feel having a squirt escort me all the way through the continent? Get over yourself. Take some help for once." She walked past him, "Obel Lake is this way."

As he studied the menu, Alphonse looked at it after raising a hand up to his chin and itched it slightly before settling on a piece of carrot cake and a coffee before taking out enough money to cover the cost of everything the two had ordered. When he was told how long it would be, Alphonse nodded in reply before looking over to where the two could sit down as they waited for their food. After a little looking, he spotted a booth by the window. With that in his eyes, Alphonse gestured over to it when he looked over to Ishu and smiled at her.

-----------------------------------

"You know, that actually sounds like the best idea I've heard out of you all day." Heishiro answered as he then began to walk. "This whole job was nothing more than a waste of my time. Now do me a favor and get lost." He added as he turned to her then threw up a middle finger at her.

She followed his gaze to the booth and nodded an 'ok' to him. She let go of his cuff so he could move freely and she hurried over to the booth, plopping down into her seat and getting comfortable as they waited for their order. Her eyes trailed off to the side, looking out the window and at the people wandering about. There were Velidant students everywhere, shopping and laughing as they explored the city.

___

"You realized that you don't get paid if we part ways now, right?" She put a hand on her hip and looked the kid over. What was his problem? Either he didn't understand English or he was too pigheaded to give a damn about anything. He really needed to grow up. Or, maybe, she needed to kick his ass.

Once she was situated, Alphonse walked over to her and then then sat down with a little sigh, possibly from walking around so much. But then again, things like this seemed to happen to him with quite the frequency these days as far as he was concerned. Still, once he was sitting down, he lifted his head up towards Ishu with a smile on his face.

-----------------------------------

"As far as I know, this job's already done. I've done my part, now you do yours and get the hell out of my sight." Heishiro answered with a warning growl in his voice. If she kept on pressing him on like this, then as he thought previously whether she was intended to be his superior or not, that he had every intention on beating her within an inch of her life and then leave her there.

Ishu looked over at Alphonse and smiled, So, do you like it here? I mean, from what you have seen. She looked outside again and watched as some strangely dressed people walked by the cafe. They were talking quietly to each other and it almost looked like they were lurking through the city.

___

"The job isn't done until I get to Deling City. Didn't it say that in your mission?" She huffed in his direction, "What branch are you anyway? If you're a mercenary, you're not very good at it." She let her arms sway next to her hips as she walked, "It's no wonder I've never heard of you- you're terrible at this and your manners are severely lacking."

"Heh." Alphonse answered with a chuckle as he glanced over to Ishu again with the same smile on his face. "To be honest, this is my first time in this town, and already I'm enjoying the sights. Even with you, Ishu." He answered with the same smile on his face.

-----------------------------------

By then, Heishiro only turned sharply on his heels before glaring at her with a vicious glare in his eyes before walking over to her with heavy steps then stopped right in front of her then shoved his face into hers, nearly headbutting her with the amount he used. "Get this straight right here and now, you big mouthed bitch. I was only sent here under President Deling's direct order to go as far as Deling City and that was it. I personally don't care if you get yourself killed, get sold onto the slave market or possibly even get raped out on the city streets, because the only thing that'll mourn your loss is the diseased ticks that'll feast on your dead or dying carcass as you're left out there to bleed to death like a stuck pig." Heishiro answered with a bitter tone before bringing his hands up and then giving her a hard shove.

"Now," Heishiro spoke once again. "Like I said, my job with you is done." He added.

Ishu smiled over at him, delighted with his response, Oh, that is wonderful! A part of her was worried that he would become bored with his job escorting her everywhere she went. She wanted to try hard to keep him happy. She figured that a happy worker would be better at their job. Plus, she didn't want him to dislike her for making his life boring. That would just make everything awkward.

___

She wasn't phased by his words, infact that only furthered her theory about him, but when he touched her. She made a surprised sound before smiling and then... she laughed. The woman burst out laughing as she slapped a hand onto her knee and leaned down on it. She looked up at him, her words interrupting by subtle chuckles, "You... should not have touched me."

Alphonse nodded his reply as he kept his eyes on Ishu while leaning back into his seat, smiling the same way he had always been ever since. "Anytime, kiddo. Besides, if babysitting you was this easy, I'd have taken up the job months ago." Alphonse joked as his smile became a full-on grin for a little while before he broke into a series of laughter.

-----------------------------------

"What, are you going to threaten me with violence?" Heishiro answered bitterly as he began to think the same thing about her in return. "Turn me in to the higher ups? You honestly think I give a crap about it? Besides, I already put in a request to leave the service after today so I can find the bastard that killed my parents, brother and sister on my own fucking terms! I'm fucking tired with all the bullshit politics, the armchair generals that just sit there with scrambled eggs in their brains and everything - EVERYTHING - ASSOCIATED WITH GALBADIA ALTO-FUCKING-GETHER!!! DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME YOU FUCKING SKANK?!! DO YOU?!!" Heishiro virtually screamed out at Eve in reply, every single word that ripped free from his body in pure hatred.

Right after he finished screaming at her, Heishiro's fists began to shake in rage but instead of giving her any further reason to go anywhere near him, he instead simply turned around and walked away from her, this time not even caring where it is that he went this time. He just wanted to get away from her and be as far away from her as soon as possible.

"Just get away from me..." He snarled quietly.

She didn't know if he was joking or not but she soon heard him laugh. When he laughed, she followed suit, happy to know that the laughter she was keeping in was appropriate and she could let it out. Not much happens in Veldiant, right now anyway. She put her elbows on the table and held her face, I still haven't achieved my SeeD ranking yet. She looked peeved by this, however she did it to herself. She had spoken with her father about the issue and decided she wanted to get her SeeD ranking the same way everyone else did. But she couldn't pass her final test due to it being off Garden.

__

Eve put her hands defensively, "Fine, but don't say I didn't warn you."

As Heishiro walked away and, if he was even paying attention, he would hear the crumbling of bones as something landed near Eve. The creature, filled with rage, lunged itself at Heishiro at a full sprint, an animalistic snarl sounding at his back as a creature tackled him down to the ground. (he has time to turn around if he wants)

When Ishu mentioned that she hadn't achieved her SeeD ranking yet, Alphonse would soon stop laughing before he turned his head towards her and arched an eyebrow at her curiously. "You mean you still haven't passed the final exam?" He asked her outright with both eyebrows now raised, looking at her with a rather incredulous look on his face. "Wow. I would've figured your old man would've paid top dollar to have you skip the test." Alphonse spoke again, his tone hinting towards playful sarcasm. "But hey, whatever the case may be," He added as he then turned his head towards her. "If it's just the final exam that's been giving you the most trouble, then maybe you need a partner or two to help you out. And since I'm already involved with keeping you safe and all that, perhaps I can help you out with that test so that way you can be a full fledged SeeD-ranked member like me. What do you say about that, huh?"

-----------------------------------

Heishiro hadn't bothered with Eve's comment, for he was much better off with just leaving here there for the wolves to pick at, he figured.

That was, until the sound of crumbling bones got his attention. At that point, Heishiro stopped in place for a moment and turned around just as something tackled him into the ground, nearly knocking the wind out of his sails from the force of the impact. But instead of just going straight into the ground, Heishiro responded to this creature by tumbling along with it, rolling round and round for a couple of times before shoving it off of him with a well aimed boot to its stomach and shoved at it hard with the sole in an attempt to remove whatever it was off of him.

Yes. I told my father that I did not want that. That wouldn't be fair. I want to earn my SeeD rank. She watched a few SeeDs wander past the cafe before her ears alerted her to Alphonses' proposal, R-Really? You would do that for me? Honestly, she didn't know why she hadn't thought of it before. Even as a SeeD he would have to be with her. It was in his contract. Sure, it was sort of still cheating, but it was a personal case.

___

The creature did not budge as he kicked at it. His foot met with pure muscle. It shoved him back down and a roar that could challenge that of multiple T-Rexsaur sounded above him, saliva raining down on his face as a crazed woman hovered above him. Her knees drove into his ribs and one of her hands slammed into his throat, rendering him incapable of breathing as her claws wrapped around his neck and squeezed.

Her attire was almost nothing. She was wearing a stretchy thong and a thin strip of material that wound around her torso and covered her nipples while also pressing her profoundly large breasts together. Her skin was tan, almost brown like a furred animal. Her hair was long and wavy; red-brown in color. The whites of her eyes burned black as horns spiraled out of her skull. The yellow in her eyes tore him apart as she stared down at him menacingly.

Eve slowly approached the situation and crossed her arms, "I told you- you should not have touched me."

"You betcha. Besides, it's anything to assist a fellow SeeD member or soon to be one, anyway. Besides, I could use a little practice." Alphonse answered with a smile on his face as he then extended a hand out to her. "What do do you say, huh? You and me later on when we head on back to the Garden?" He offered again.

-----------------------------------

At first, Heishiro would've thought that maybe he was pinned under a Timber Wolf of some sort or another, but there was nothing like what was under his foot before turning his attention to what was now hovering above him, salivating onto his face which only made him shake his head violently a few times to get it off of him before giving out a grunt when his foot was shoved back down with a knee.

When a hand was wrapped around his throat, Heishiro gave out a gagged response before a hand of his own shot up to meet it in an attempt to try to get some of that insane pressure off of his neck even as he felt this woman - well, not so much now that he got a look at her - ram her knees down onto his stomach, trying to squeeze the air out of his lungs. For the most part, Heishiro was now struck silent as he then turned his head back over to Eve with a look in his eyes that seemed to demand what in the blue hell was this thing, even if he had to hold his breath in order to get the answer from her.

Her smile practically took over her face. She reached out and shook his hand, Yes! Yes, oh I am so excited! She tried to hug him but accidentally ran her torso into the table. She winced, but giggled and brushed her hand down her shirt to keep the wrinkles out.

One of the waiters behind the counter called out their order.

I will get it. Ishu smiled again at Alphonse and hurried out of her seat. She went over to the counter and picked up their food. She brought it back and gave Alphonse his food and drink then sat herself down and opened up her parfait.

___

Eve glanced over at her companion who snarled some kind of babble that wasn't english.

Eve nodded in agreement, "Yes, he is filthy." She stepped to the side of Heishiro but remained out of his reach, "Now, I think we are going to change the situation. Due to your incompetence, you are no longer an escort. You will be my prisoner."

The woman with monstrous features snapped at his face. Her teeth did not snag his skin but her hot breath masked over his face, the scent of death riding up his nose.

"Now, I am going to ask Evan to get off of you and you are going to comply, do you understand?"

"Then it looks like we got ourselves a deal, Ishu." Alphonse answered with a smile on his face as he welcomed her hand in his own, shaking it up and down for a moment before seeing her attempt to hug him, only to be met with a torso full of the table that was pinned in between her and him. At first, he wanted to make a little joke there, but before he had the option of doing so, Alphonse soon heard their order being called up only to hear Ishu say to him that she was going to get it. "Aw, you don't have to. Besides, I would've done it for ya anyway." He answered as he saw her come back with his carrot cake and coffee along with her water and parfait.

-----------------------------------

Heishiro only kept his hand on her own while glaring angrily at the thing - now named Evan, whatever it was - before hearing it speak in some kind of language that seemed to be archaic in origin, something that he might have heard a bit of but never really paid too much attention to. Then he heard Eve explain to him that the stipulations had changed due to his "incompetence". Oh they have indeed changed, Heishiro would've loved to reply to her then and there. But not for the way that she would've liked, that much was for certain. But at the moment, it seemed as though he had no other choice but to comply. But then again, even if he said no, the fact that the smell of death that came from this woman's breath seemed as though that it would've brought him a sense of solace that he would've accepted regardless of his answer.

So instead of giving her a reply, Heishiro only slowly took his hand off of Evan's, letting it move back down to his side as he kept his eyes trained on Eve despite there was a bitterness that seemed to rival that of the demon woman that was on him.

Oh, it is nothing. Besides, you have already done so much today. She picked up her spoon and stirred the granola into the yogurt and let it all mix with the fruit in the middle. She ate one bite of it and fell in love with the cafe. It had a great location, outdoor seating-which they weren't using but she did not mind in the least- and great parfaits! She would probably try to come here every time the Garden came to Fisherman's Horizon.

___

"Alright then. Evan-"

The woman ontop of Heishiro responded rashly and slammed her elbow across his face with enough force to knock him out for a few hours.

Eve paused and sighed as she looked down at the sight of the knocked out boy, "That is not what I was going to tell you to do."

The demoness heaved a few breaths as the horns shrank back into her skull and the majority of her demonic features faded away. Her deep, raspy voice calmed to a soothing, sultry tone as she stood up on her hind legs, "The little shit had it comin'- besides, now I get to tie him up <3" The woman knelt back down tore at the boys clothes, hog-tying him with his own materials and making a sort of lease.

Eve pinched the bridge of her nose and shook her head, "Fine, we will get some rope in Winhill."

The two journeyed toward Deling City whilst dragging along their prisoner. The next time he came to, they would be in the desert.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Alphonse answered with a smile on his face as he then took a bite of his carrot cake and munched on it slowly a few times before swallowing that bit down, making a delighted sound and patting his stomach a few times. Oh, the carrot cake, he thought to himself. One of his many vices but oh so good! Then again, the coffee - once he got to it, of course - was also absolutely to die for a million times over. Now if they had any of this back where he originally came from - if he could recall it now, due to the fact that he's been to so many places over the years - then he would never leave this place. But unfortunately, Alphonse also knew that they had to return to the Garden at 1800, and after looking to the clock a little while later, he could see that it was getting to be about noon as of now.

"Hm. Almost noontime." Alphonse mused aloud before looking back over to Ishu a little bit later. "Tell ya what, what say we get back to the Garden and then we can talk out a time to get you enrolled into the final exam later on?" He said.

-----------------------------------

At that point, Heishiro didn't even seem to care anymore. If this was how it was meant to be, then so be it. Hell, he was half expecting for that demon woman to just end it all already and spare him the torture of just being their prisoner as he then closed his eyes, unaware that the blow that had smashed down on his head, incapacitating him immediately thereafter.

All he could see at that point was nothing but pure darkness for what seemed to be hours on end, finally awakening in the desert and being dragged along with a massive headache. But then again, his mood didn't seem to change anymore than it had already. Looking over, he could now see the demon woman that was dragging him behind her, and narrowed his eyes at her only briefly before letting them slide close once again.

Alright, that sounds like a good plan. She took another bite of her parfait and, after she swallowed it down, she opened her bottled water and took a few sips. Can we go back after we finish eating? She wanted to enjoy every moment of her food in the cafe.

___

They had stopped by in Winhill and bought a decent amount of rope. Eve had retied the boy in a hog-tied fashion and gave the excess to Evan to use as a leash.

Now, the two of them were walking through the desert. Evan looked back at the boy and grunted.

"He's awake?" Eve glanced over her shoulder at him and then to Evan. "If he wants to get up, he'll say something."

"Very good. We can get started on that after we get all situated back at the Garden." Alphonse answered with a smile on his face before gesturing back outside once more. "Besides, I still haven't finished all this fine stuff yet." He added with a chuckle.

-----------------------------------

Heishiro knew how this game worked. Even if he said something, he only knew it would only be an excuse for either of them to waylay into him or any reason they could get away with. He figured it would probably be best if he just remained silent for now, for he knew that he would get them back and they wouldn't see it coming. It wasn't a threat. It was a certified guarantee.

But for now, Heishiro just decided to lay there in silent sacrifice. Come to think of it, he had endured worse than this.

Ishu smiled back at him, Great! She went back to eating her parfait and let them eat in silence. When she finished her parfait, she dropped the plastic spoon inside the plastic cup and put the cap back on. She drank some of her water and resealed it, then waited for Alphonse to finish his own meal.

___

Evan flared her nostrils and exhaled through them. She continued walking forward and looked over to Eve. Before Evan could say anything, Eve cut her off by shaking her head. The two women walked in silence. Even as the sun began to set they continued forward through the desert. It was getting cold and neither woman shivered. They were both used to working in the desert but they knew traveling through the next night probably would not be good for Heishiro.

After another bite of his carrot cake, Alphonse would then take a sip of his coffee, smiling to himself as he savored the flavor of it, somehow just trying to remember the last time he had anything like this. Rather ironic that he couldn't remember a time like that, either. It was almost as if someone had hit the reset button in his head and then just left him a blank and empty slate for him to re-experience everything all over again. He knew it had been quite a while since he had anything this good, that much was for certain.

With another look back at the clock next time, Alphonse could now see that it was almost time for the two to be getting back soon. Nodding at this, he would soon finish the rest of both the carrot cake and the coffee a little bit later before looking over to Ishu and nodded at her once. "So. Ready to get going?" He asked.

-----------------------------------

By now, Heishiro had begun to notice that the temperature of the air around him was beginning to change sharply out here in the desert. Again, it wasn't that big a deal. As a matter of fact, this was almost like when he had worked in the Mithril mines a long time ago when he lived at the orphanage, before it went under new management. It was probably one of the reasons as to why his mannerisms had become the way they had been as of recently. Speak only when spoken to and be silent in the face of an authority figure. In terms of his physical health? Sure, he got sick a few of those times, but he worked through it and he was fine afterward, even if it was a damn near crippling ailment of some sort.

Mhm. She stood up and took her trash to the trash can. She nestled the water bottle against one of her arms and put her hands out for him to take, if he wanted to, and then they could walk out of the cafe. Do you know if the finals are all the same? All she knew for sure was that each class had their own final, but only when they took it all in the same time frame.
