Ren gave a soft sigh, casting his gaze down to the floor, a faint scowl on his face. “If you need anything, don’t hesitate to reach out, I’ll see what I can do.”

"Akihime won't have to beg and cry, will she?" He asked, a bit of teasing in his tone.

Ren let out a dry laugh, only to humor him. “No, I reserve that treatment for guys like you.”

He grinned, "Well, that's good to know." He replied before giving a wave and heading out.

Yukimura had been recovering slowly, his body long healed, but his mind left fractured. His time spent with Matsunaga didn’t treat him well, and he would still see hallucinations of Akihime. Some nights he would be inconsolable, others he was almost completely normal- almost.

Akihime did her best to help him, but ultimately didn't really know how to help. But she tried, and some days she managed.
She made sure he ate and moved to sit with him, "How are you feeling today, Yukimura...?"
