Golden Shields ( Katy1008 & CrimsonMaster )

The three soon found themselves in Tom's car and were out on the streets. Normally since Evie got her own car, Tom would drive three days one week while Evie drove two. The next week Evie would drive three days and Tom would drive two. But since the partners found themselves in a threesome, Tom thought it was best if the used his car since it had fours doors and it would be easier for Lisa. The first hour passed quietly as the three drove around the downtown area. Tom was just about too ask if anyone want some coffee, he was going to make a stop. That changed when two man came running out of a liquor store, one had a shotgun and the other a pistol.

The owner of the liquor store came out yelling for the police. His English wasn't very good, but you could still hear him clear enough. Tom flicked on the siren and placed the single red light in the roof of the car. He started to speed up just as the two men broke and started running in two different directions. The first man crossed the street in font on the unmarked police car, then other ran down an alley. The second man was holding the bag with the money they had just taken. " You take the one in the alley!.....I'll get the other one!! " Tom said as he brought the car to a halt then jumped out. Both men were now running for their lives, they had no plans on stopping. The man running in the alley was hoping to make it to the next street were he was also hoping on losing Evie.

Almost before the car came to a halt, Evie was getting out of the door and pulling the Glock from the holster.

"Stay here and call it in!" Evie called to Lisa. And then she started running, across the road and into the alleyway. She ran hard, jumping over spilled trash cans and piles of garbage. The guy in front of her was quick, but he was a stocky man and she was gaining on him with every stride. Just before she got the end of the alley she jumped, launched herself, hitting the man mid thigh and taking him down. She pulled his hands behind him, read him his rights, and then pulled him up and walked him back to the car where Tom was already waiting.

Lisa looked to Evie when she ordered her to stay there. She let out a sigh then climbed slowly out from the backseat. Lisa climbed into the front and grabbed the radio's microphone. She was just about the call dispatch for a black n white when she noticed a man sitting in a car just ahead from where Tom had stopped. Lisa saw that he was looking quite nervously at her. This was one of those moments where a cop's instincts kick in. Lisa knew that something wasn't right with this guy and she slowly put the car into drive. Tom had left the motor running when he jumped out. The man made his move, he jerked the steering wheel of his car hard over and started to pull out. Lisa jammed her foot down hard onto the gas petal which made the car lurch forward. She slammed into the driver's side rear door and pinned the man's car against the car that had been in front of him. Lisa climbed out of the car and pulled her badge.

The man had to climb out of his car's window since his door was jammed shut. He started yelling at Lisa, calling her names and threatening to sue her. Tom arrived back at the scene he had just left only a few moments ago. He was pulling the other armed robbery suspect along with one hand while carrying the man's shotgun in the other. Tom pushed the suspect against the unmarked police car and told him to stay. He then turned to find out just what the hell happened. The man from the car started yelling at Tom. It was more name calling and threats. Tom kept his cool and told the man to stand in front of his car. He turned quickly and asked Lisa what happened? She told Tom that the man was acting strangely and she felt that he was up to something. No one had noticed that the trunk of the man's car had slowly opened after being hit. No one that is until Evie returned with her suspect in tow.

As Evie returned back to the car a black and white patrol car rolled up. She was handing her suspect over to them when she heard the car crash. She turned quickly and for a moment simply watched, trying to understand what she saw. She reclaimed her handcuffs and then walked over to the damaged cars. As Evie walked past the trunk, she saw that it had opened in the collision. She hooked a forfinger under the trunk lid and eased it open. She stared for a moment. 10 AK-47's, 10 100 round ammo drums. A box of M67 grenades and a FIM-92 Stinger Missile. Evie stood gazing into the trunk.

"Lisa. Come here. You should take a look at this." she waited while Lisa walked round and took in the sight. "Nice job." Evie said. "Your instincts are good." she walked away from Lisa back to the car, giving her a gentle pat on the back as she did. Passing the Rear door Evie noticbrian dark brown briefcase in the backseat. She opened the door and reached it for it. She opened it up and then let out a soft whistle. Lots of money all neatly tied in small bundles.

Tom was just about too chew Lisa out for wrecking the car when Evie called for Lisa to come over. Lisa did as she was asked and she was followed by Tom. Lisa's mouth dropped open when she looked into the now fully open trunk. Tom was equally stunned by the sight and he felt stupid for thinking about yelling at Lisa. The car was a small price to pay for this collar. While Tom & Evie took down a couple of liquor store thieves, Lisa took down a gun runner. Lisa was beaming at the complement that Evie had just given her. It was clear that Lisa misjudged Evie, she wasn't anything like Steve. As amazing as the gun haul was, this bust got even better when Evie found money in the back of the car. $250.000 dollars was laid out in that case which Evie was holding.

" I have to admit....I was going to chew you out for wrecking the car.....But after this.......All I can say is great job. " Tom said which made Lisa smile more. This had been the first time today that Lisa shown any emotion other then fear or sadness. Tom was beginning too see what Jack saw in Lisa. She certainly had good instincts which every cop needs and she followed through on it. Tom, Evie and Lisa hitched a ride back to the station with another black n white. They turned in the money and weapons. A check was run on the driver, it turned out that the man was wanted by NCIS, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Clark Dean was running weapons for a man named Rico Sanchez an international arms dealer. Agents from the NCIS Los Angeles Office quickly came and took custody of Dean, the weapons and the money. This bust certainly helped Lisa feel better, but there were still reports to write up. Tom, Evie and Lisa sat for the next hour writing up these reports on what went down. It was made easy for Lisa since a desk was delivered for her. By the time they were done, Tom had signed out a new unmarked patrol car for them too use. This was done under the threat of bodily pain from Chuck the head mechanic. He was never pleased by how certain detectives treat his cars, this of course was aimed at Tom.

The threesome were back out on the streets around 1pm. It had been decided to stop for some lunch. Lisa suggested a little Italian place in West Hollywood. The places was called Mama Tataglia's and it was run by Lisa's very Italian mother. Tom drove there, parked then he, Evie and Lisa went inside. The place had a good sized crowd for lunch and Tom even noticed a few CHP officers eating there. Tom & Evie were lead to a table by a waitress while Lisa disappeared for a few moments. She reappeared with her mother trailing. Lisa introduced her mother to both Tom & Evie. Mama Tataglia remarked how pretty Evie was, but she was just to tiny. Mama suggested that Evie needed to eat more to get herself a good husband. Tom began to snicker at what Mama had just said, then she looked at him.

" A big strapping boy like you must eat a lot. " Mama said then she snapped her fingers. A waitress brought out the biggest plate of spaghetti and meatballs Tom had ever seen. The plate looked more like a serving platter and there must have a full pound of spaghetti on it plus 6 meatballs which were about the size of pool balls. Suddenly Tom wasn't laughing at Evie any more. " Ah Mrs. Tataglia? " Tom asked to which he was told told caller her Mama. " I don't think I can eat all of this. " Mama let out a chuckle. " Nonsense........A big boy like you needs to keep up his strength.......How else are you going to catch those dangerous crooks. " Mama patted Tom on his head as if he was 12 years old. Lisa chucked and apologized for her mother as she sat down. Evie & Lisa got a more normal size plate of spaghetti. Lisa started to open up more to Evie while they ate. She told Evie about all the grief Steve had given her. Lisa also talked about how her father was a cop in New York for years. Lisa and her parents moved to L.A. when she was 12. Her father became a cop out here. Lisa talked about how her older brother was a cop with the NYPD and she had two uncles who were also cops. Lisa then admitted to being a New York Yankees fan. " Oh......Not another one. " Tom said between bites.

Evie felt herself bristling a little as Lisa talked about Steve. Evie understood where Steve was coming from; she also knew that Steve expected high standards from everyone - no-one more than himself - and sometimes people didn't always match his expectations. Evie of course was allowed to criticise but she did it within the confines of the family; but no-one else was allowed to do that. Nonetheless she managed to hold her tongue. She didn't want to jump straight down Lisa's throat and she had been on the wrong end of Steve's expectations in the past. so for now he said nothing. Lunch remained farly light as a result and the three made polite conversation.

During the afternoon, there were a few calls; a follow up call to two of the earlier victims of the bandits, a visit to two other businesses where the energy had called the cops thinking they might have information. In the end neither Reed nor Evie felt that they provided anything new. During the course of the afternoon, they also gave Lsa the complete breakdown of the whole case. Details of all of the former raids. At end of the afternoon, they headed back to the station and began to work on the paperwork from this morning's arrests.

While finishing up on the paperwork, Tom asked Evie & Lisa to join him at Malone's for a beer. His offer was accepted and once the paperwork was completed, Tom gathered it up. He took the papers into Lt. Tamura's office laying them on her desk. Lesley & Tom talked about Lisa and how she was getting along. Tom said that so far he hadn't seen any problems with Lisa. but he also hadn't seen her in a spot were she needed to use her pistol. Lisa had certainly made the biggest bust of the day when she nabbed Clark Dean. The news of losing money and guns wouldn't make Rico Sanchez very happy. Sanchez would also most likely try and silence Dean before he had a chance to talk.

With the work day now over and a beer or two looming, Lisa told Evie that she was going to use the women's restroom. Lisa got up from behind her desk, walked out of the squad room and down the hall. She disappeared into the women's restroom without seeing a man who was standing in the doorway just down the hall. He was standing in the entrance way which leads to the uniformed officers squad room. A smirk came over his face, he left the doorway and walked down the hall until he stood between the women's room and the stairwell. Lisa was feeling pretty good about her day and she finished up then left the women's restroom. The man grabbed Lisa from behind, a hand over her mouth and one around her waist. He spun Lisa around until her back was against the door which leads into the stairwell. " Don't you dare scream. " The man warned Lisa. She by now knew who this man was. " McCaffrey?.......Why the hell are you here? " Lisa said in confusion as to what McCaffrey was doing at the Central Station. McCaffrey told Lisa that he was transferred today and he wanted too see his little Lisa.

Lisa just started to shake her head, this just couldn't happen again. " I don't have to do that any more........Please just leave me alone. " Lisa was hoping that McCaffrey had changed and would let her go, but that wasn't going to happen. " But I've missed you little Lisa.....I came here just so we could start having fun again. " McCaffrey said as he pushed Lisa backwards into the stairwell. It didn't look like this would end well for Lisa. She knew that McCaffrey always got what he wanted, one way or another. Sergeant Gus McCaffrey wasn't overly tall, he stood 5'9", but he weighted 275 lbs. He certainly wasn't trim and athletic like most of the officers in the LAPD. He was however quite strong for a man who was so round in the middle. McCaffrey spent all of his career working traffic in one division or another. This gave him the chance to nail all the new cunts who left the academy, or at least those who encountered him. Too McCaffrey, all women were cunts. All they were good for was cooking or fucking and he wasn't looking for food from Lisa. McCaffrey backed Lisa into the stairwell and under the staircase. Lisa knew that he was going to fuck her here and now and she couldn't stop him. McCaffrey had a clean record which gave him power and control over those below him. He would always tells the females that he prayed upon, who's gonna take their word over his? It would be hard for anyone to believe that a cop with a clean record could, or would force female officers into sex.

"Lisa" Evie appeared from nowhere. She had seen Lisa suddenly spinning. It took a second or two before her mind processed what she saw, but even then she assumed that Lisa must know the man and that it was an affectionate reunion. But there was something about it that to Evie wasn't quite right. Evie walked down the corridor. She heard Lisa telling the man to leave her alone and that was enough. Both Lisa and the man turned around to look at her.

"Reed needs you to sign your reports... Now."

Lisa looked at McCaffrey and the Evie and then she squeezed past him, back into the corridor. Hesitantly initially, she made her way back to squad room, leaving Evie standing in front of Mccafrey. Evie noted the man's stripes and then his name badge above his left breast pocket but she didn't recognise him. The man looked back at her smirking, looking her up and down.

"Something I can do for you Sergeant."

McCaffrey hated it when something interfered with his getting sex. He slowly turned after hearing the unknown woman's voice. Evie stood there in the doorway and just moved slightly to let Lisa pass by. McCaffrey walked up to where Evie stood. He looked at her while smirking, she was just another cunt who needed put in her place. " You shouldn't but into other peoples business sweetheart.......It ain't nice and the way I see......You owe me what I was gonna get from little Lisa. " While McCaffrey was speaking his eyes were checking out Evie's body. McCaffrey could certainly enjoy using this dirty bitch. " I'll bet the boys around here really like you.......Do you spend most of the day on your knees or on your back? " McCaffrey said with a chuckle in his voice, he was cocky and smug while looking at Evie. But before Evie could fire back an answer, Officer Leon Gibson stepped up behind Evie. " Hey McCaffrey.......Lt. Morales is looking for you.....He wants too see you now. " Gibson walked away after he was down delivering the message. " I'm already looking forward too seeing you again sweet thing.......We're gonna get to know each other real well. " McCaffrey added then he pushed Evie out of his way and headed for the Uniformed Officers squad room.

Suddenly James came down the staircase and found Evie standing at the bottom. " You didn't have to meet me at the stairs.....Just because I work Vice doesn't mean I don't know where Homicide is. " James said jokingly, he then put an arm around Evie and the two walked out of the stairwell. Tom & Lisa were waiting for them in the squad room and once they met up, everyone headed to Malone's. Tom said that he was buying the first round to which James asked who died?

Evie wasn't quite sure that she had met anyone who had unnerved her quite as much as McCaffrey did. Even Randell didn't make her feel quite as vulnerable as this man - and this man was supposed to be a cop. She stood her ground - although she wasn't quite sure how she managed it when every fibre of her body was telling her to get the hell away from him and call for back-up. But he was a cop. And they were in the police station... 50 ft from the door to her own squad room. So she stood her ground, feeling his eyes slowly moving over her body, watching the smirk on his face. Evie had taken mild sexual harassment pretty much the whole time she had been in the force. No matter what the Mayor or the Chief of Police or Human Resources might project to the media, it had not disappeared from the LAPD. She had no doubt that it was significantly less that it would have been in the late 20th Century; but the 21st Century still had its issues. McCaffrey though was blatent... more than anyone else she had ever come across. Evie clenched and unclenched her jaw and lifted her chin defiantly. But as she was about to respond, a familiar voice came in instead. Gibson didn't seem to have heard what McCaffrey had been saying and he obviously hadn't seen anything to him cause for concern. He relayed the message from Morales to McCaffrey and then walked away.

"In your dreams McCaffrey" Evie said in response to the Sergeant's final comment, and she watched as he walked away, and even with his back to her, he held up his hand and waved. She was still staring at his back when James suddenly bumped into her. She jumped a little in surprise and then forced a broad smile across her face. She had never... NEVER... run to her brothers to fight her battles. Not in school. Not in the Academy. Not since. James didn't need to know about McCaffrey and besides, in all probability the man was almost certainly all mouth and no action. She made a mental note to ask Lisa what had gone on between them; there was always the chance that Lisa would tell her that it was none of her business, but she could ask.

Evie turned and leaned into her brother as he placed an arm over her shoulder, tucking her arm around his waist.

"Coincidence Im afraid. I didn't know Reed had invited you? Let me guess though, you want me to drive you and drop you at home afterwards so that you can drink?" James shrugged and Evie laughed as they walked back in and met Reed and Lisa.

Thirty minutes later they were in Malone's. As Reed and James went to the bar to get some beers and a soda for Evie, Evie turned to Lisa.

"So... you wanna tell me about McCaffrey? He's...erm... he's a piece of work!"

Tom, Evie, James and Lisa took a booth when they came into Malone's. James had been invited by Tom which in turn made this like a double date. Normally a trip to order drinks wouldn't take very long. This however was Malone's, a cops bar and here you just didn't walk up then walk away. Their was always someone standing at the bar to BS with. Rusty who was always there, would often stop his closest friends. Tom & James were on that list of close friends for Rusty Malone. It had been a good day for Lisa, but since McCaffrey showed up, she returned to her shell. Lisa's mind had been replying over and over again, what her first day on the job was like. She stared open mouthed at Evie when she asked about McCaffrey. It didn't take a great detective too notice that once McCaffrey's name was mentioned, Lisa started to look physically ill. The color washed from her face, sweat started to form on Lisa's forehead. She was shaking and jumped when the other officers in the room got a little rowdy. " He....He's ahhhhh.......He was my.....Training officer.......After I left the academy......That's all. " Lisa finally forced some words from her mouth and that's how it would sound to Evie. She never looked at Evie when she was speaking too her. Lisa kept her eyes closed tight and her head was held down. The shame of what had happened to Lisa was easy too see.

Lisa started to shake her head as her head sunk lower into her chest. She had to tell someone about all of this and Evie was the only female officer she really knew. Lisa looked up and opened her eyes, tears were just starting to form. She asked Evie to please keep to herself everything that Lisa was about to tell her. It took a little more pleading from Lisa before Evie finally agreed not to say anything. Lisa told Evie how on her first day on the job she drew McCaffrey. He had a clean record and wore 4 stripes on his upper arms. McCaffrey had been on the force for almost 18 years, but he wasn't a senior sergeant like Tom. The difference could only been seen when Tom would wear his uniform. Tom had a single white star at the bottom of his three stripes then the four stripe was under that.

Lisa continued to tell Evie about her first day as a cop. She said it felt great to finally be able to call herself a cop. Lisa never felt so much pride in her life and she knew that her father would have been even more prouder of her. Lisa said that the first hour or so went okay. It was clear too Lisa that McCaffrey thought that women shouldn't be on the force. This kind of thinking wasn't new and even Evie had seen it. Lisa told how McCaffrey pulled their car into an alley and then behind an old run down building. He had just called them out for a 10-7 which was the police code used when officers and detectives break for lunch, or are stopping their patrols. Lisa spoke about how McCaffrey left the car then walked to the front. She joined him at the front of their black n white. Lisa said that she didn't understand why McCaffrey wanted to take a lunch break here? There was nothing and no one around.

Lisa's story continued when she said that McCaffrey grabbed her and pinned her against the brick wall of the old building. He held her face in his powerful hand and forced a kiss on her. Lisa said that she tried to fight back and finally pushed McCaffrey off of her. He came at her again slamming her off the brick wall. Lisa said how the blow had stunned her and that gave McCaffrey the time he need to remove her gun belt. Lisa soon found herself in the backseat of the patrol car. Her pants were gone and McCaffrey was already on top of her. Lisa started to shake even more when she said that McCaffrey was fucking her. " He raped me Evie. " Lisa's eyes wear filled with tears as she spoke. She said how she tried to fight again, but there was little she could do. McCaffrey was a big and strong man who knew how to use his weight. Once McCaffrey came inside of Lisa, she threatened to report him. McCaffrey just laughed and said who's gonna believe you? He then grabbed Lisa by the back of her head, pulling it backwards. He told her that his record was clean and no one would believe anything that she said. McCaffrey let Lisa go and reached for her pants. He reached into the front left pocket and pulled out a small bag of cocaine which he held up. Lisa's eye flew open wide as McCaffrey said that he could get rid of her anytime that he wanted. That bag wasn't her's, but if word of this got out, Lisa's career would be over. Lisa then laid out how over the rest of her probationary period, she was blackmailed by McCaffrey into becoming his sex toy....his little Lisa. Lisa sucked his cock and let him fuck her ass & pussy anytime that McCaffrey wanted it, day or night. " You stopped McCaffrey from getting what he wanted today Evie.......But he knows where I live and he'll show up there tonight.....I'll be paying for what you did today......He's never gonna let me free. " Lisa placed her head into her hands and it would be clear too Evie wear Lisa's trouble were. The shooting wasn't the trouble, it had only added to the fact that Lisa felt like a failure thanks too McCaffrey.

Evie stared at Lisa for a moment, expressionless, saying nothing. Part of her wondered whether Lisa was condemning her for stepping in earlier; effectively blaming Evie for anything that might happen later on. Whether that was Lisa's intent or not, again as she had when Lisa had been criticizing her brother Evie said nothing in direct response to that. She looked across at where James and Tom were stood chatting with Rusty. And then looked back at Lisa. She leaned forward over the table.

"So ... you're just gonna let him get away with it. Let him take your career." Evie shook her head a little with a wry smile. "Make no mistake Lisa, you're career is over... unless you decide to take it back. To take control again." Evie knew she was probably being harsh, but the she didn't think soft and sweet was going to accomplish anything.

"When I started in the Academy, a cop I know ... someone I care about a great deal... told me that it didn't matter if I made a mistake. It didn't matter if I fell down. As long as I learned from the mistakes. And as long as I got back up fighting. If I did neither, then that was the time to quit. So... seems to me that you have to decide what you want to do now. You decided right after that first time that McCaffrey raped you that you were gonna try and pretend it didn't happen. You were going to try and carry on. Hard choice. I think... pretty much... either choice needed a hell of a lot of courage. But it seems to me, with the benefit of hindsight, the choice you made has gotten you precisely nowhere. McCaffrey is the only one who has won here - and you're letting him win - and throwing your career away into the bargain. Is that what you want?" Lisa stared back at her. Evie looked across again to Tom and James and then back to Lisa.

"Do you still want to be a cop?" Again Lisa said nothing

"Okay... listen to me. If you don't let someone in... let someone help... you're not going to be a cop for much longer. So, if you're okay with that, then walk away. Do it today and don't put anyone else's life at risk. But there are people who will help you - even now. My Dad. That guy over there... probably both of them. Tell Tom what you just told me. Or let me tell him. But if you want to keep hold of your badge and have it mean something, then you have to take the control back. You have to fight. And it will be one of hell of fight if you want to get some respect back; that might not be fair, but that's truth. So what's its going be?"

Before Lisa had a chance to answer, Jack Taylor came into the bar. He walked up to where James and Tom were standing and then looked around to where Evie and Lisa were sitting. He nodded a hello.

Lisa watched as Jack came in and joined Tom & James at the bar. She looked back at Evie knowing deep down that she was right. Lisa agreed with what Evie had said then asked if she could speak with Tom. She felt that since Evie knew Tom better, she could approach him with something like this. It wasn't long before Jack, Tom and James came back over to the booth finally delivering the drinks. They joined Evie & Lisa with Tom sitting beside Evie and James sliding in next to Lisa. Jack pulled up a lone chair and sat on the open side of their table. He started to talk with Tom & James about some trouble that he felt was brewing in the department. This conversation wasn't private, so Evie & Lisa could hear what was being said.

Jack said that he was sure someone in the department was working for The Snowman. That had to be the only answer to why every time they get some evidence against the Snowman, it disappears or gets destroyed. Jack said that this person had to be someone with rank, a sergeant or above. A patrol officer just doesn't have the pull to get into the evidence room. As everyone at the table knew, all evidence collected by the LAPD no matter which division area it comes from is always kept at the Central Station in the basement. The only way a uniformed officer or detective with out rank can get into the evidence area is with a written paper from a Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain or someone higher up. Jack looked around the table as he said that someone is in the Snowman's hip pocket and he wanted to find out who that was. James spoke up telling everyone what had heard on the streets not long ago. One of James's informants told him that King Hayes and The Snowman were planning a take over of all the girls who work the streets. James said that the Independent girls could join up with a pimp, or get the hell off the streets. He added that some of the girls had left the streets, while others had joined up with a pimp. James then said that a few girls were holding out in the hope that The Snowman & King Hayes would be stopped. " Sis.......I believe you and Tom know a couple of the hold outs....Jenny Wilson.......Megan Walker and Amber McKay. " The girls who James just spoke about had helped Tom & Evie take down Doctor Bolin a few months ago.

Evie said she would talk to Reed but she wasn't going to do it in this kind of public environment. She'd wait until it was just the two of them. As it was, at that moment, she said nothing and simply smiled as Reed and James sat next to her and Lisa and as her father pulled up a chair.

She listened as her dad talked about the Snowman and about how someone in the department had to be working for him. The idea that someone in the Division would...could turn rogue and work for the criminal side was always difficult to accept. The police force was a family and frequently most of its members would strongly defend all others. It was equally true to say though that once a 'bad apple' was identified, they were very much ostracised. Every god cop recognised that a bad cop ruined all of their reputations.

As Jack talked about who it might be, Evie was mentally striking peopl off the phone lists. Once he mentioned sergeants, Evie immediately thought of McCaffrey. And on the basis of what Lisa told her, he also had access to drugs. But she quickly ruled him out, telling herself that she was just jumping to conclusions based solely on the things that Lisa had told her. When James went on to talk about the plan to get rid of the independent girls, she glanced at Reed, thinking about Jenny and Amber. They said nothing. There was nothing to say at that point.

Later when James and her dad were with some friends at the far side of the bar, Evie told Reed. He was surprised. Angry. Evie managed to persuade him not to go looking for him at that moment, but Reed also insisted that if he wasn't going to do anything that night then Lisa had to agree to go into a hotel. When she finally agreed, Reed went with her in the cab before going home and Evie gave James a lift, promising him to pick him up on the way in in the morning.

The next morning Evie did pick James up and the two of them turned in to work just after 08.30. Lisa came in a few moments later telling Lisa that much to her surprise she had slept better in the hotel than she had in a very long time.

Tom woke early that morning. He showered, shaved, dressed then he was out the door. Tom arrived at the Central Station just before 8 am that morning. McCaffrey was no where to be found, but Tom asked one of the uniformed officers too call him when McCaffrey showed up. Tom was sitting at his desk when Evie came into the squad room. It was easy too see from the look on his face and from the look at Lisa had, Tom hadn't talked with McCaffrey yet. Tom had been marked as a bad cop by a few people in the department just because of what his father had been. But Tom wasn't a dirty cop, he was in fact a loyal police officer who took great pride in the badge that he carried. Tom truly hated those who dishonored the badge in any way, shape or form. The crooks on the streets were bad enough, but a dirty cop was the worst. Tom didn't know just how dirty McCaffrey really was. He only knew that McCaffrey had been forcing Lisa into sex with him.

Tom wasn't wearing his coat, it was handing on the back of his chair. His Desert Eagle was proudly showing in the shoulder holster under his left arm. Just after 8:30, Tom's phone rang. It was the officer who told him that McCaffrey finally came in. Tom left the Homicide Squad Room and walked down the hall towards the squad room used by the uniformed officers. McCaffrey soon appeared just ahead then he went into the men's restroom. Tom was a man on a mission and he followed McCaffrey into the restroom. McCaffrey turned and was just about to say hello when Tom grabbed him and bounced McCaffrey off the wall. McCaffrey started to reach fro his Glock, but Tom placed his right forearm under McCaffrey's chin and into his throat. " Pull that weapon McCaffrey!.....And you're gonna eat it! " Tom was clearly not in a good mood and it was unwise to piss him off at this point in time. McCaffrey tried to ask what was going on, but Tom's arm kept him from getting much out. " Now you listen too me!.......From this point on!......You had better leave Lisa Tataglia alone!......I better not hear that your even thinking about her!......You forget that you even know her!.......And stay away from my partner!.......You mess with Evie and the only thing that will beat you to the hospital!......Will be the headlights of the ambulance that you're riding in! " Tom slowly pulled his arm from McCaffrey's throat. The big man was by now gasping for air. " You've..........made a..........big mistake.........Reed! " McCaffrey said in between his gasps. " The only mistake here......Is you wearing that uniform.......Mark my words McCaffrey........I'm gonna take you down one way or another.......I'll find away to take that badge that you're disgracing! " Tom turned and walked out of the men's room leaving McCaffrey behind.

McCaffrey left the men's restroom in time too see Tom disappearing into the squad room of the Robbery/Homicide Detectives. " That bitch Evie ratted me out! " McCaffrey stared down the hall into the squad room. " She needs to be taught a lesson and I know who will be happy to teach that cunt a lesson she'll never forget! " McCaffrey left the hall and returned to the men's room. He pulled out his cell phone and called The Snowman. McCaffrey told the Snowman that Evie was causing trouble for him. He also told the Snowman who her father was. The Snowman said that he would take care of everything. After hanging up with McCaffrey, the Snowman called Zach Whitman. He had remembered that Zach told him a story about banging the daughter of Lt. Jack Taylor down in Mexico with a couple of other guys. The Snowman asked Zach for a favor which Zach was happy to do for his boss.

This day had been pretty much like any other day. It was almost over when Zach appeared at the front desk asking too see Evie. He waited while the desk sergeant called Evie on her desk phone. Once she answered, he told her that a visitor was at the front desk too see her.

Evie picked up the phone and listened to the message and then asked the desk sergeant to repeat it. She hadn't heard the name Zach Whitman for a long time; nearly a decade... seven years... She couldn't help but smile and the membories began to come back to her. She put the phone down, excused herself and walked down to the desk.

As she walked down the stairs she couldn't help but smile to herself. She had met Zach at college - at some early term frat party at the beginning of her second year. They had hit it off reasonably well and what quite easily could have been a one-night stand enjoyed by both of them had become a series of one-night stands which had then almost by accident finished up being a relationship; but even then it was probably true to say that it was a relationship based on sex. They enjoyed each other. At spring break that year, Evie and Zach together with two other couples - friends of Zach rather than Evie - decided to go down to Tijuana, staying at a Condo in Costa del Oro, right on the Pacific Ocean. The day before, the other girls suddenly couldn't go and as a result they had finished up breaking up with the guys. Evie - perhaps a little niavely was still happy to go. For the first couple of days, Evie and Zach ahd spent much of the time together whilst the two guys had spent time on the beach or in local bars. Then on the third night they had all stayed in. Zach had been out in the afternoon and as it turned out had sourced some local weed which he pulled out that evening after dinner and after they had all had a couple of beers. it had been Evie's first experience with dope - and she enjoyed it... perhaps too much. She had finished up dancing with each of the three guys... then had started making out with one of them... not Zach. And Zach didn't seem at all bothered. In fact Zach had suggested to the other guys that he thought that Evie might be up for some fun with all of them - although even now, Evie didn't know about that. As far as she was concerned it was something that happened as a result of alcohol and dope and it probably shouldn't have done but no-one got hurt and it was fun... By the end of the night she was getting fucked by all three of them. That was the first night that she got fucked in the ass. Until that evening with Lewis and his friends, this was the first night she was DP'd. The three guys had well and truly used her - and Evie had enjoyed every minute of it. It become one of those 'what happened in Tijuana, stays in Tijuana' things and a once summer arrived and Zach and Evie had a break from each other, their fairly loose relationship came to an end with no arguments, no hard feelings. Zach hadn't made it back to start his final year that fall and after than she perhaps saw him a handful of times.

When she arrived at the desk and saw him, he hardly looked like he had changed at all. He was still as good looking as he had been all those years ago.

"Hello stranger."

Zach weeks ago told Clayton Snow all about what happened down in Mexico during his break from college. Snow, also known as " The Snowman " enjoyed hearing the dirty details about Evie Taylor's trip over the border. Zach had told the Snowman this story because it was Evie's father who was trying so hard to bust the drug kingpin. It had been a while since Zach saw Evie and he was a bit nervous too see her now. Zach only came here because the Snowman asked him to come. He had no plans on his own to visit Evie, but it was what the Snowman wanted. The Snowman told Zach to ask Evie out on a date and bring her too his newest club downtown. It was really two clubs in one. The upstairs was a dance club and restaurant, while the downstairs was a special private club. The Snowman's dance club was called " Club Vibe." His private club which anything can happen at anytime was called " The Erotic Zone. " This private club was were special guests of Clayton Snow could party however and with whomever they wanted. It was a normal sight too see people having sex with each other in the open club. Drugs of all kinds were available too anyone for the right price.

Zach turned when he heard Evie's voice. A smile slowly drew acrossed Zach's face upon seeing that Evie was still just as hot today as she was back when they hung out. " Hey there yourself sweetness. " Zach held his arms out then wrapped them around Evie when she came up to him. " It's been forever and you haven't changed one bit......Still the hottest thing I've ever laid eyes on. " Zach gave a quick kiss to Evie's cheek. He removed his arms from around Evie then stepped back. Zach looked her up and down checking out Evie's very fit body. " I see you've kept yourself in great shape......Not surprising since you became a cop. " Zach said while giving Evie a wink. He was wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and a black jacket which the name Top Hat Entertainment stitched on the upper right side of the front and on the back in bid bold letters. Top Hat was a new movie company which made adult films. This however was just a cover for The Snowman's drug trade. He used this company as a front for the selling and the distribution of his drugs. Zach had been working there since it opened just over a year ago. He was one of Clayton Snow's biggest and best drug dealers. This of course wasn't well known. It had to kept a secret since Zach's old man was a street cop.

"You're in pretty good shape yourself." she was still smiling as he hugged her and she hugged him back, feeling his muscles hard under his jacket and tee. Evie wasn't aware of the desk sergeant watching the pair of them, or the other handful of uniforms and couple of detectives who were doing the same thing. All of them wondering who the hell this guy was with Evie Taylor. All of them wondering whether they knew each other as well as they appeared to know each other.

"What are you doing here? How did you even know I was here?"

Zach took no notice of the others who were watching him and Evie. All Zach wanted too see was Evie herself. " I was thinking today about all those great times we use to have.......It made me miss you so I decided to come here and ask you out tonight. " Zach answered Evie's first question, as to her second question. He said that he had heard his dad say that Evie was working at the Central Station. " It's really no big secret Evie......You were in the papers and on the tv news when that Simon guy was running around......The press was talking about you for weeks. " Zach placed an arm around Evie as he leaned on the front desk. " So how about going out tonight?......I know this great club downtown.....We can have dinner and do some dancing all in the same place......It's my treat Evie. " Zach was always able to talk Evie into anything. He was the one who set up the foursome down in Mexico when those girls split on the other two guys. Zach was the one who got the pot and talked Evie into doing it.

Zach was charming as hell, he was the poster boy for an all American. His chestnut brown hair looked as sharp as always. His body was still as athletic as when they were dating. Zach could see some doubt in Evie's eyes. He knew that she was thinking about her work and she shouldn't go out. " Hey.......Everyone needs a night off.......Everyone...even cops need a night to let their hair down......Coming out tonight will do you some good......It will gives us a chance to catch up and relive some great old times. " Zach flashed that sweet smile at Evie. It was the one he used down in Mexico. It was the same one that Zach always used to hook Evie like a fish. " All you need is to give my your address and I'll pick you up around 6:30.......Okay? "

Evie's smile broadened a little more at the reference to 'all the good times'. All the good times principally involved them fucking. Evie might even have blushed just a little. That he knew where she was because of his Dad and the local news made perfect sense and certainly, as she thought about it, you really didn't need to be a detective to work it out.

She chewed on her lower lip a little when Zach asked her out and once again her mind was back in the past. She wondered for a moment whether she wanted to go back to that time. She wasn't that naive kid anymore and probably Zach wasn't the same guy either... But he looked the same and he sounded the same and he still seemed to be able to recognise her exact doubts. Dinner. A club. It sounded good. She hesitated fr a moment and then reached past him, and in doing so pressed against him a little. She picked up a pen and a pad from the desk. She scribbled down her address, tore the piece of paper off the pad and handed it to him. She said nothing. Just smiled.

Zach took the paper from Evie, he gave her another playful wink. He slipped the paper into his coat and told her to be ready by 6:30. Zach also guaranteed Evie that she would have the time of her life. He blow her a kiss before turning and walking out of the station. Zach walked to his car and jumped in. He grabbed his cell phone from his coat and dialed his boss. " Snowman......It's Zach.......Yeah she went for it just like you thought....We'll be at the club before 7pm tonight......I'll have her feeling good even before she gets into the place.....We'll have no trouble getting her downstairs to the zone.......Oh yeah?......King Hayes is coming?......Well he should enjoy fucking Evie.....She's a dirty little cunt when you get her turned on.......You bet boss. " Zach had the biggest cocky grin on his face when he closed up his phone and stashed it back into his coat. He pulled out and headed for the Top Hat Offices. Zach had some really good pot there which he was going to use on Evie to loosen her up a little on the way to the club. The Snowman also wanted something special added to Evie's drink once she reached the club. Zach who once cared about Evie, cared more about the money he was making from the Snowman. Sure, he and Evie had something once, but that ended and it was coming back. Evie was no the enemy and she was causing trouble. Those who cause trouble need to be taught a lesson and it was Evie's turn to learn that you don't mess with the Snowman.

Evie watched Zach leave and then headed upstairs. One of the detectives ho had seen her at the desk with Zach was already back upstairs and was stood at Reed's desk, next to Webb. They all looked at her when she walked in, all except Reed grinning.

"Old friend then?" Webb asked.

"yeah. We knew each other in college." Evie said as she walked to er desk. "is it okay if I get going?" she asked Reed as she retrieved her Glock from the drawer. Webb's grin spread a little more.

"Hot date then?" he couldn't help but notice Evie's body as she stretched and twisted smoothly in putting her holster into place.

Evie looked at him and glared. "Just dinner. For old times sake" Webb couldn't help but laugh out loud as he turned away. "It wouldn't be just dinner if you were coming out with me I can tell you that." he said mostly under his breath. Reed agreed that Evie could get off telling her that he and Lisa would finish off for the day.

Evie practically trotted down to the police garage and drove home. She had 30 minutes before Zach would be there. She took a quick shower, pulled out a blue dress from her wardrobe and then mated it with 4inch blue heels.

She stood checking in the mirror that she looked okay when she heard the knock at her door.

Tom didn't mind letting Evie take off. She had been working her ass off since Bolin was out stalking the streets. There was nothing that he and Evie were working except for the 2 minutes bandits. They always hit during the day time hours, between 11 am and 2 pm. It was almost 6 pm now, there was really nothing for Evie to do anyway. Tom stayed behind just to make sure all the paperwork was done. Captain McDonald called just as Tom was about to leave for the night. He said that the night watch commander Sergeant Alonzo would be late coming in and he wanted too know if Tom could stay a while longer. Tom agreed, he'd worked as watch commander many times before. Lisa was going to leave, but Tom asked her to stay. Tom didn't want her running off, there was also the chance that McCaffrey would follow her. McCaffrey had other plans which Tom & Lisa didn't know about.

McCaffrey was already getting put of his uniform and into his street clothes. He was on his way downtown to a special party with a certain detective cunt. He seemed way too happy and the guys coming on to work the night shift asked why he was so happy. McCaffrey said that he was getting some very special pussy tonight. He proudly told some of the guys that an old friend had set up a party in a club downtown. McCaffrey them left leaving the officers shaking their heads wondering who in their right mind would fuck McCaffrey?

Zach pulled up outside of Evie's apartment. He jumped out of his car then headed up for her place. Zach knocked on the door then waited. It wasn't long before Evie opened the door showing off that smoking hot dress. " Same old Evie......Always showing off the goods. " Zach teased with a devilish grin. He held out his arm for Evie to take and they left her apartment for his car. Once they were both inside and on their way downtown, Zach reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a joint. He fired it up and took a good long drag from it. Zach then held the joint out for Evie to take. He saw that concerned look on her face. " Hey.....It's just a little weed......You'll be alright no one will ever know.....By the time you have to take a piss test......it will be out of your system. " Zach gave Evie that playful smile. As far as Evie knew, Zach would never do anything that would get her into trouble. Zach nodded his head when Evie reached out for he joint. By the time they were done sharing the joint, they reached Club Vibe. The club was large and very modern. The dance floor was huge with a giant mirror ball hanging just above the dance floor. A thousand lights seemed to be shining from every where. Everyone inside was beautiful, the men, the women and those who worked there. There was no real plan for dinner or dancing. The waitress would spike Evie's first drink on the Snowman's orders. Then once Evie was ready, Zach would take her downstairs to the Erotic Zone. The Snowman, King Hayes and McCaffrey were already there enjoying some drinks and blow while watching some of the people having sex. It was only a short time now before Evie would be led down and became a sex toy herself.

Zach always made her feel good and seemingly nothing had changed. Other men complimented her but not like Zach. He wasnt sweet or sickly. She took his arm and let her apartment door close behind her as she walked to the car holding onto his arm. The smile playing around her mouth never left until Zach pulled out the joint. She looked at it and then at him. She hadn't smoked anything for a long time but Zach was right...it was only weed. After hesitating for a moment she reached out and ok the joint., taking a small drag on it. Zach laughed hen she handed it back to him, telling her to take another -proper - hit. Again Evie was a little unsure for a moment, but having taken the first hit,the second was easie. She closed her eyes as she exhaled and felt herself relaxing into the seat.

Twenty minutes later, Zach parked the car and she walked with him into the club, again holding onto his arm as she did so. The doorman smiled as he opened it for Zach and then he watched as they walked in, his eyes firmly on Evie's ass as she walked away. It was busy but not packed. Zach led Evie to the bar and ordered two scotches. He just assumed that Evie still drank the same thing which she did, but as he handed it to her she was taking in the sites around her.

The drink that was just handed too Evie was already spiked. Zach didn't even know what drug the Snowman had picked to use on Evie. All Zach knew was that it would work fast once Evie started drinking. The drug was colorless, had no odor and left no after taste. Evie wouldn't even know that her drink had been tampered with. The dance floor was already buzzing with activity even thought the club hadn't reached it peak. People were still filing in slowly and would continue to do so all night long. The door which leads down to the private club was guarded by a very large black man. There were no neon signs showing the way to this exclusive den. It was just a door which could have led anywhere. The only sign on the door read private in small gold letters. The guard made sure that only those who were invited went downstairs.

Zach wrapped an arm around Evie's waist, he pulled her closer to his body. Just being around Evie sure did make it seem like old times. But those times were gone and as the old saying goes, you can back again. Still, Zach would get the chance too see Evie in action again. That time in Mexico sure was a hot one and that had nothing to do with the weather. " You like this place Evie?.......It's a lot like that club we visited down in Mexico. " Zach's lips were only a few inches from Evie's ear when he spoke. The music was already pounding out a heavy beat which made speaking hard unless you were very close.
