Lorenzo stood outside the drawing room of his employer's manor. Plus carpets ran under his feet, as oil paintings of past family members and their adventures lined the smooth stone walls. Not his family though, oh god no. These were demons he worked for, a generic common title for the beings that flooded the earth a few centuries back, mingling with humans from wherever they came from and altering what some say was history. He had to resist the urge to smoke here, out of professional courtesy.

He was here now to take primary charge of one of their daughters. Or was she the only daughter? He was starting to forget in the decade he had been away on business for them. Lorenzo found that he could not even remember how old she was, something that he wondered if he ever heard the end of. There were memories of his teen years playing guide, guard, and servant to the little demon. And now he was to serve her again. He stood still in his fitted suit with the jacket open, a deep dark purple dress shirt underneath. Messy black hair mopped his head, a point he made to keep it like this just because it bothered the more stern types.

Rapping his knuckles softly on the door, he called out. "Is it okay for me to enter?" Lorenzo asked, peeking his head in with the tip of it reaching just a few inches over six feet in height. "Everything okay?"

A little bit about: Since she is still very young and her powers very strong (the reason why the is such a high probability she would be a successor of her father not her older siblings) she still isn't able to control them properly, especially when she is emotional. The succession put her in a very dangerous spot that's why she is being sent away, to protect her from being killed/eliminated by her family's enemies.

~~*~~

Shiro was used to be alone most a time, living in their big house surrounded by maids, cooks and all the others, her siblings much older than her and parents always busy. It wasn't a bad life.. although now and then she got a bit lonely... When she was younger she had a companion, one of her parents people but he was taken away from her. She didn't remember his face well.. and now she was told he would become her bodyguard. She didn't mind leaving home.. There was nothing for her here. After all her parents were always busy and all the siblings had already their own families. Going out of here would be at least interesting.

Of course before going anywhere she made sure to pack her magical bag she was given as a present for her fifteen birthday. It was an incredibly hard thing to make since it could contain any kind of equipment or clothes that would get through it's opening.. and still was weighting as much as the material she was made from. She wasn't sure how much money it costed but it was the best kind of present she was ever given, now coming in handy and making her wonder if her father predicted that something like this would happened. So of course she ended packing a lot of things that could help them later on. The set of clothes she was wearing at the moment had two purposes - looking good and being practical, easy to wear.

The blond checked herself in the mirror, straightened last creases and looked at the door when she heard the knocking. Soon she saw quite an attractive human sticking his head in.
"Yes, I'm ready. We can leave", she said, straightening up to look a bit taller, painfully aware she was quite short, especially for a demon.

Lorenzo opened the door fully, stepping into the room as he viewed his charge for the first time in so long. She had definitely grown up well, and now he remembered her. Or at least the name he called her when she was still a child and he in his teens. "Can I carry that for you Mari?" He asked to be polite. His new position as her caretaker and bodyguard gave him certain advantages, namely that as long as it was for her wellbeing her parents had given him the authority to boss her around. That in itself was going to be interesting. A human commanding one of the demon nobles. "We have a car waiting, and then a plane. We have a long day of traveling ahead of us, to other side of the country where a safehouse has been set up in the city."

That had been a difficult conversation. Explaining that it would be easier to hide her among thousands of others, rather than on some secret island somewhere out in thr dangerous seas. Looking at her he kind of regretted not opting for the tropical paradise, but Lorenzo knew he should put work first. "If you were any shorter it would be easier to tell everyone you were my own daughter, you just had to go and grow didn't you?" The human teased lightheartedly, her horns barely scratching at his nose. "Any last minute things to attend to? Don't want to wish anybody here farewell?"

RE: Tricky Deal

When she was called by her nickname she blinked in surprise and looked at the male, a bit intrigued. So he really was the teenage boy that was following her when she was younger, huh? And yes... seeing the male, his hair and eyes she could remember a little bit of this or that.
"Nah.. no need for that. As you can see the bag isn't really big", she answered the male and then sighed. "A plane... and a car too, huh? The we better go now or we would miss it or.. something."
That said she looked around for the last time, checking if she really took everything she wanted and then raised her eyebrows, blushing and huffing softly when being made fun off.

"Who cares", she muttered and walked out of the room and then heading outside so the man needed to catch to her. "Some old man like you shouldn't make fun from other people or they may start count your wrinkles and grey hair."
Shiro felt her cheeks burning and that made her upset. Reacting so vividly for some stupid teasing.. Still the male poked where it hurt, making fun of her height what always was a bit touchy subjects, especially since she was teased about that by everyone.

RE: Tricky Deal

He felt foolish as he pulled back his offer. He should not have doubted that the heiress young woman would have some magic items in her possession. Lorenzo straitened his suit slightly as he nodded. "Lots of traveling, and it will be a public plane. First class at least. But you are right. We should move." The bodyguard saw her huff and and felt a sharp sting in his chest about his age. If he had not checked this very morning for grey hairs he might have gone to look.

And then his charge was gone, and Lorenzo jogged slightly to catch up. "I see your tongue has grown to be as sharp as your claws." He said walking by her side. "At least your height helps to make you seem cute." He offered and it would not be long before they were outside. It was a very clear afternoon, and their flight was overnight so they indeed could not afford to miss it. The bodyguard would hold the passenger door open, "Wave goodbye. Who knows when you'll get to return."

RE: Tricky Deal

"Public plane? Now that doesn't happen often", she said, actually intrigued, remembering to hide her claws properly so it wouldn't end with blood spilling... actually Ren's remark made her remember.
This time she didn't say anything back when the other mentioned her height. Well... screw you, you all tall people.. at least it is harder to hit me.. A soft growl escaped her as she heard the male once again, rolling her eyes, sitting in the car and closing the door. Why should she care.. it wasn't like there were many happy memories.

Sighing she looked through the window. She always wondered how it was to be... like normal. All those less important families having a time for each other.. It was probably warm.. and much harder to leave than a place like this. Grimacing she took a book out of her bag and started reading. Whatever..

RE: Tricky Deal

"Comfortable?" Lorenzo asked, fiddling with the center console as he drove. He had set the air to cool, and for a moment turned his eyes away from the nearly empty road to look at his charge. "I don't know how you can handle reading while in a car. You don't find it more interesting to see everything going past?" He asked. Well she was a little princess in a sense, so he guessed it was not strange that she would rather live in her own little world.

Unless she said something he needed to reply to, it would take an hour to reach the right airport on time. They were less busy than they might have been had demons not emerged, most of them could fly themselves to and fro, but this sas the best that humans, now only peaking at two billion in total, half that of the demon population. Still there were others here, and despite her outfit. Or more because of it he stood closer. "Nobody should recognize you, which is why we drove a bit further, but you will be going under a different alias for the time being." Lorenzo pulled a new passport and sets of paper for identification. Her name had been shortened to only Mari, but the rest was just random. "At least until we get to your knew home." He laughed, or tried, as a group of dog like demons walked past. Lorenzo had some issues with their kind, and shirked away even as they were only a traveling family.

RE: Tricky Deal

On their way to the airport she didn't say anything, grimacing at the question about watching her surroundings. Who cared? She was living in this city since she was born so what there could be she didn't see already? Stupid Ren.

"Mari, huh?", she asked, nodding her head, not minding to have her nickname be her... alias at the moment.
Looking at Lorenzo she was about to asking him what was his alias but her attention was swept by his reaction to the dog demons. Now that was interesting... and maybe it would be a good idea to use it against the male in the future. Remembering that she looked around. It was a first time she didn't use their private jet to travel so everything around them fascinated her. There were antimagic bracelets put on the passengers wrists, probably so they couldn't use their magic to tamper with the plain. Very smart.. Seeing some man tackled by the security she nudged her bodyguard.
"Why did they do that?", she asked curiously, looking at the male and waiting for his explanation.

RE: Tricky Deal

"Don't like it? I have a few others. Saraphie, Eleanor, and Caroline." He pulled a last few envelopes out, letting her take her pick of the bunch before dropping the unchosen ones inconspicuously into a trash bin. He was not aware of the reaction he had made, it was an instictive one after being harmed at their kind's hands.

There was a commotion, and he had seen it from the beginning. Ever his eyes were cast about, looking at every person and judging if they were dangerous. "Despite apparent good relations, often humans think that they should hold higher places in life. It looks like he tried to disguise himself as a demon to take advantage of preferencial treatment. Petty, but for all we know his seat was taken or some other transgression." Lorenzo explained the heiress.

He checked in, under the name Artur Eberil. They got odd stares, as it was not common for a human to be traveling with a demon. Not unheard of, but an unsaid taboo of the world that even after centuries was hard to get over. Especially as he sat next to her in first class. "This might not have been the best idea. I knew we should have taken a train. Slower, but more privacy." He muttered to himself as they started lifting into the azure sky while twisting the anti-magic arm band. He felt useless like this, with his weapons too far away to be helpful. If anyone tried anything he'd be almost reliant upon the girl.

RE: Tricky Deal

"Nah, Mari is the best out of them. Who would want to be called like that", she huffed, not ever needing to think much to know which one she preferred.
Hearing the explanation of the incident she nodded although.. she didn't understand what it meant that his seat was taken or something else. Weren't all the seats paid for and booked? She would ask but some asshole started to look at the strangely. What the hell was their problem? Demons and humans could be equally stupid and the older she got the more she hated both. What truly should matter was the power. If a human was able to be stronger than a demon then he was above him. Very easy.

"I don't think it would be a better idea.."
, she said, overhearing R... Arthur's (she was able to see his name when he was pulling out his passport) and feeling like talking.. this time. "Though I never rode a train so it could be very amusing."
Feeling that something was touching her head she slapped it, making some kid cry since he was playing with her hair. Seeing the mother having some issues she gritted her teeth and actually scolded her harshly, saying that if she can't keep an eye on the kid she should leave it at home.

RE: Tricky Deal

Lorenzo sat back, thinking. Of all the things he had failed to notice, it was the presence of a child. So used to looking for threats, smaller, less dangerous, beings could slip by as if they never existed. "Trains can be nice. Often you get a compartment all tp your group and beds if needed can be pulled from the walls." He had only ridden a few of the more luxurious trains, and the subway on occasion. So his perspective was scewed as well on the subject.

The child was entertaining themselves with his charge's hair, and just before the bodyguard could speak his peace, Mari had done her fair share. "Mari!" He spoke loud enough, with a cold undertone edging its way into his voice. "Sit down and leave the woman alone." He would apologize on her behalf, making an excuse that she was having a very stressful day. He didn't have any wise words to give, her snapping was justified.

Sitting down he watched the demon woman for some time. "Have you ever been to the other coast? It's very easy to look at. Especially where we are going. A city nestled on and under the sea. And for being a major city, no cars. Making it super quiet."

RE: Tricky Deal

Hearing the cold tone in the other's tone was so surprising that it stopped her from lashing the woman more. Of course she was about to protest but.... she was pulled back down on her seat, without her magic the male's strength being something she couldn't win against. Good thing he didn't try to talk to her just after it happened or he would end on Mari's anger end.. and that never was too nice of an experience. Even if she looked quite of cute when her eyes were glistening like that, probably her size being a reason.

By the time Ren spoke up she was calmer so she got a bit interested with the idea of a city without cars.
"That sound intriguing.. So... how do they move around?", she asked curiously and changed her position so she could look at her bodyguard. "And what do you mean - very easy to look at?"

RE: Tricky Deal

Lorenzo hummed to himself while waiting, a tuneless quiet noise only designed to keep himself occupied. "Trolley mostly, and a lot of walking. Those with wings have that option as well." He added, tugging on her own softly just to bothrr his younger charge. "And another form that, well. Just wait, I promise you though, it's a lot of fun."

"Well. There are a few things that contribute really. The way the sun bathes everything in a golden hue, where even looking out over the rooftops can be blinding if you are a shut in. Or when in the underwater part, the way that all the creatures of the sea move about above." He smiled, clearly meaning to joke with her, but what he said next was also completely true. "And just think. Warm weather, lots of water. Not too many people dress modestly there." He wondered what Mari would look like in swim wear, but figured he would find out eventually.

"We will stay mostly in the underwater portion. The vity proper as it were." He did not tell her that the neighborhood they would be was not the best, she would get to see that for herself. There was a sudden jolting of turbulence, one that made Lorenzo grip his chair tightly. As little as he liked dog demons, he like flying even less. No control over anything here. At least until someone started causing a commotion. He leaned over, trying to catch a glimpse from his chair, but all he could see were two rather large demons getting heated about something or another. Which was fine and dandy, until one was suddenly thrown down the aisle. "I can interfere, on your word only." He whispered to the younger girl. She was his only concern, and actually moved to place his full body in front of hers.

RE: Tricky Deal

When her bodyguard tugged on her wings she realised she should hide them before putting on the antimagic bracelet. Now it would be all uncomfortable. So far she was too occupied to notice it.. but once she did it was irritating her. Pouting softly she looked around and saw that some of the demons still had their wings out.. and saw one pushing on something on his chair... and did the same, smiling when the chair started to fit into her body shape. Sighing she leaned back and nodded her head, listening to Ren all the time.. even if it looked otherwise. From the time when she was a small baby she was trained to multitask easily. Well, at first it made her cry a lot but then, step by step she learnt how to. Even if her parents and siblings weren't especially close she at least was given a proper education.

"Not only an old man but also a perv", she grumbled although she needed to admit that going out and swim would be a nice thing and then smirk. "And a baby scared of plains~"
Before she was able to really start teasing a shit out of a man someone started to... be way too loud to her liking. Hearing what Lorenzo said she nodded her head, more wanting to see what he was capable of without any magic than anything else.

RE: Tricky Deal

"I am not old." He griped, Lorenzo having more of an issue with that than being called a pervert. Well it was true that his wording could have used soms more tact, but he did not have a whole lot of that to spare most days. He prefered speaking simply and getting everything over with. "And you try sitting in a flying tube of metal without wings, I do not know why people invented these things." He was still complaining as he saw her nod his head. Well at least this should keep his head clear for a few moments.

"Excuse me sirs?" Ren stepped forward in between the two demons, dwarfed by the size of the one still standing. The other was starting to rise from where he had fallen. "Can you sit your asses back down before someone else gets hurt?" They both froze, as did many of the others nearby. The demon stepped forward, trying to force his way through Lorenzo, who refused to step aside.

"Do you want to invoke the rights of war?" The demon growled between his two protruding lower fangs. He spoke of enacting a brutish demonic custom, and a legal one. The loser had no rights beyonf what the winner gave. Most took heads or property, but servitude was an option as well. All of this was within reason.

Lorenzo nodded his answer, loosening the tie around his neck. "I will invoke them if it gets you to stop." There were witnesses, so whatever happened it would be between the two of them. The human was shorter, but perfectly so that the sudden upper cut thrown landed in the demon's groin, and an other into his now exposed throat. Using the fangs Ren grasped them and pulled down, a face connecting with a swiftly rising knee. He felt bones break, and within seconss the entire event was over. "He can keep his life and his property, just have him arrested for assault." The bodyguard announced. The demon was pathetic, having been trained for those who's skills and qualities were much more dangerous. The kind who would attack or kidnap Shirohane if she was found.

Dropping back into his seat he looked at the young woman. "Exciting enough for you? Not even travelling is uneventful I guess."

RE: Tricky Deal

It was so obvious that Lorenzo was bothered with her calling him old that it was impossible for Mari not to smirk, her wings flapping behind her slightly, showing she was excited... if the sparkling gaze wasn't enough of an indication. Her violet eyes were observing the male when he walked to the two, surprised with how easily he got rid of the one that challenged him and... actually being a little bit surprised... and then even impressed when instead of land or some kind of valuables he let the male go. He isn't stupid... so then what? He doesn't want money? But then he could stop working for my family.. right?

When Ren sat back down she was quiet for few moments, glancing now and then at the male.
"Soo... why didn't you take anything from him? You could end a free man with a lot of money... and without a demoness to care for", she asked bluntly, not feeling like going around the question, being a bit sleepy since she was too busy, not having much time to pack all of her belongings.. at least those she wanted to take with her and that would fit into her bag. "And the fight was more surprising than exciting since he wasn't any challenge for you."

RE: Tricky Deal

Lorenzo fell quiet as he thought of a decent answer. But there wasn't really any reason to beat around the bush, so he did not. "I don't think it's right to take advantage when there is that much of a difference between us. And it's not like I'm being firced to work for your family. I want to, and I like doing it." He leaned over somewhat having had to ignore her looks of enjoyment from before, turning to look at her better with his arm on the shared rest. "And is there a reason I wouldn't want to take care of you? So far, besides mistakenly thinking I'm old you haven't done anything wrong to me."

He patted the back of her hand and leaned back into his seat, closing his eyes with his hands crossed in his lap. "I would think you would know your parents would have better judgement than to place you in the car of someone who would be bothered by that. Really now, maybe you didn't actually grow." There wouldn't be another disturbance on the plane, letting them land after a few hours long before the sun rose.

RE: Tricky Deal

Well... she planned on having some fun but it was true, she didn't do much so far, just teasing him some. Huffing softly when she was told that maybe she didn't grow after all she didn't say anything else. Whatever. Maybe he really like working for her family.. who knew? Shaking her head she soon fell asleep, being a bit tired, walking up just to go to the toilet and then falling asleep again... regretting she didn't have anything that draw on Ren's face with.

They were awake while landing so she could see that the place they were supposed to stay at was quite interesting. Maybe it wouldn't be all so boring and irritating? Yawning she stood up and headed for the exit, her ears twitching a little bit as she was scratching her cheek dazedly.

RE: Tricky Deal

Lorenzo moved slightly, nudging his ward awake if she was not already, leaning across to open the window blind and let her take the first look at the city she would be living in for the foreseeable future. "Welcome home Mari." He says quietly. The city outside of the water was dark. Spotted in many places with dim lights on the buildings anf street lamps. It was a quiet coastal city from the looks of it. A harbour taking most of the north, and beaches to the south and beyond where it cut to darkness. There were mostly homes by the sea, homes and tourist related businesses. The entire city gave off a dim glow.

But most eyes were drawn to the glow miles out to sea. Far off the shore where the water shined golden, deep underwater on the ocean floor, was the other city. Well ut was the same city, just the other district. Complex magics kept the water from collapsing on it, amd it was easily a hundred miles wide. The plane made it's way towards this, the windows slowly shutting of their own accord on the outside as a metal covering encased the weaker glass. These planes were special, converting to a submersible.

"Hang on." The body guard spoke as he gripped her arm. With a sold thud and everyone being jerked forward as the plane slowed slightly, they hit the water. The Windows would stay closed as they traveled the many leagues, to a world unknown. They would soon come to the arrival gate, and with a glowing green light now shining through the plane, they were allowed to depart. The lobby would be packed even as early as they were. There was no roof to the port down here, able to look up into the illuminated sea where fish swam freely. Hundreds of demons roamed, and the occasional human as well. Most were here on vacation, taking their paths to thr nicer part of the city, a few already dressed in revealing swimwear. Lorenzo led to a different terminal, labled as Abyss. "Alright we need to gather our luggage and go. Excited yet now?" He said looking over the towering glowing skyscrapers ans underwater gardens of this district.

RE: Tricky Deal

She was listening to Ren when he was speaking to her, looking sleepily outside the window. The sight woke her up a little bit more, the thud making her fill with excitement. Now that was quite.. interesting. The whole city seemed quite different.. and seeing it, looking through it nooks and crannies sounded like an exciting plan.

Only when she got out of the plane her mouth opened into a small 'o' as she was looking up. The sight was simply incredible. Hearing her bodyguard she wondered if she should answer something with a bite to it but then decided not to. After all the place was incredible.. and she was excited.
"Yes, I am. Something wrong with that?", she asked, raising an eyebrow, her wings flapping, the black feathers looking quite amazing in a strange light. "So... where are we heading to exactly... and how it differs from other parts of the city."

RE: Tricky Deal

"Nothing at all. Just making sure I'm being a good guardian." Lorenzo said, taking his sunglasses out of his pocket. They were special in that they were expensive, but otherwise did nothing else for his appearance. It was what was in the same pocket as the glasses the he needed, having to reach further into thr inside of his coat to pull out a pair of keys. They hung from a silver keyring, jungling together as he stepped down a long staircase.

This opened up to a bustling street, or the busiest one at this time of day. "Come on. On the trolley." The bodyguard said with urgency as one rolled past. He would have to jog to keep up, but would grab hold of a pole and hold out a hand for his ward. "These don't stop. Ever. So missing them can be a pain." He shouted over the rumbling wheels. It led to a darker part of the city, where the buildings were more worn and less and less people remained to be seen. Animals bickered in the alleyways and people were more self inclined. Even the largest demons didn't give off a proud air here, well not unless they had a gang to back them if something hit the fan. The fact that such a nice city had a poor neighborhood on the far side of it would have surprised most people. If they ever cared for more than just their own excitement here.

"This one." Lorenzo said just before stepping off with ease as the trolley slowed to take a corner. It was an apartment building, white brick stonework in serious need of a cleaning, and the lights inside flickered dimly from faulty wiring. "Hide everything you can Mari." He said putting an arm around her waist to guide her. There was no elevator. Not one that worked anyways, and they had to travel up to the eleventh floor. Handing her the set of keys, he pushed the girl to open the portal to her new home.

RE: Tricky Deal

Shirohane was way too curious on their way to the house they were supposed to live in. Hopping on the trolley she chuckled, obviously amused with that way of transportation, holding Ren's hand and then hiding her wings in magical seals on her back so they wouldn't touch other people. Glancing at Lorenzo curiously she couldn't help but to wonder why would he know so much. Probably internet, right? Seeing their surroundings were changing she looked around, not really bothered, more amused really. A young girl of a famous and rich demon family didn't have any chances to see such parts of a city.. although she looked it up.

She wondered if there would be a cockroaches in their new home while their were climbing the stairs, not aware that Lorenzo had a perfect few on her round, beautiful tush. Not understanding what the other meant by hiding everything she could the girl simply focused on moving forward. Well.. if there are any bugs I can summon Amago or Kresh.. they would eat it.. I hope it's not smelly... Don't be smelly.. Thinking that she opened the door, a little bit out of her element as she stepped inside the house, looking around with her beautiful violet eyes.

RE: Tricky Deal

Lorenzo lugged himself up the flights of steps behind her, his eyes taking the occasional glance at her round backside. Well, something about her had grown at least, and her tight pants did nothing but show it off to him as she climbed agwad. They reached the landing they were supposed to quickly, and if Mari had any issues regarding smell when she opened the door, then unfortunately she would find the place dismal. The body guard pushed her in, the smell of rotting wood and stale air lingered on every surface. It accosted his own nose, and he did his best to seem untaxed by the scent.

A spider hung from the fan, it's webs tied about it showing how long it had been since it was last turned on. The living room was bare. Only a television stand of solid wood seemes sturdy here, and a single worn cloth covered recliner that was absolutely coated in dust. The bathroom was probably the cleanest room here, but it was bathed in a sickly yellow light that did nothing to hide the linoleum floors and fake stone countertops. While the kitchen was useable, all the appliances were a decade old at least, and some of the cabinets lacked doors. There was a bedroom, a single one with a new bed. Compared to the rest of the house the bed seemed like a luxury, but it was only a queen sized one, smaller than what the girl would be used too. The carpet was torn even here, showing bare wood underneath. And the windows were caked in dirt on both sides of the apartment. They were on the top most floor as a consolation, and a small balcony was stuck behind a glass sliding window that would not open.

"I've lived in worse." Lorenzo muttered, lying to her and himself to try and make the situation seem better.

RE: Tricky Deal

Scrunching her nose she looked around, obviously taken aback by what she saw.. and smelled. Her ears moved back in anger as she faced Lorenzo, her arms crossed under her beautiful breasts, the cleavage being a serious distraction for any respectful man. Well.. for every man.
"Are you kidding me? Did you choose this... this... junk hole?", she asked, obviously upset. "The only thing acceptable in here is the bed... and it's only one. What?! Are we supposed to share it? Or did dad choose it? Why the hell... Bunch of stupid loosers! It smell and it's dirty.. Wouldn't it be fine to just choose something.. simple? Not such a hole? I'm not gonna stay here!"

While she was yelling at Ren her violet eyes started to glisten and a wave of magic energy could be felt, raising quickly. Her voice started to get another tone to it's sound showing that the young demoness was seriously upset. She was so angry! How could anyone think she would stay in such a place. Fine, she could end up dead but.. at least the place could be clean?! And she was supposed to sleep with someone in one bed..! What the hell?! Stupid old geezer of father! Stupid Lorenzo. Growling she broke the window, got on the balcony and flew away, not caring about anything anymore, magic radiating from her body adding some speed to her fly.

RE: Tricky Deal

Lorenzo didn't dare look at her chest with how angry the young woman was, nor would he have anyways. Even he thought that this was a bit extreme for a hiding place. The least that could have been done was to find somewhere clean. "It was a quick purchase, a rather abrupt set of circumstances made me have to sell my own condo just to justify moving here." It had been part of the ruse, added authenticity if one of their enemies decided to dig deeper into his history. The apartment was under his name, and he had rented it from across the continent.

"Look just calm down a tad alright?" He asked, still in a bit of shock about the whole thing himself. But he knew not to throw a tantrum, something that Mari clearly did not. Ren barely had a second to put his thoughts together as he felt the clear magic that she was emitting. The human could not begin to fathom how much power she had. If it was leaking like so from just being. He quickly moved to stop her, trying to grasp at her arm and talk to the woman for a moment. To explain. All to slowly. The glass sliding window shattered, and off she lept, flying quickly. "Sleep out in the street then!" He shouted after her, possessing no way to follow.

Well at least he could offer some cleaning, chanting a few words to a spell. Humans and demons had different forms of magic for the most part. While the later had it in their blood, humans had to draw most of it from without, meaning it took longer to do the same thing, and often with weaker outcomes. The spell repaired the glass of the door, and he left it open for now. The spider and its web were soon away as well, a heavy gust of hot wind carrying them outside at his direction. It was enough for now, and Lorenzo waited, sitting on the counter in the kitchen for her to return. Hoping she would remember the way back.
