Seeing Shade's tentacles shoot towards her, Urania begins to shift her weight back and turn on her foot. Just as the lead tentacle makes contact with her knee, she vanishes in a burst of stardust - which hangs in the air for a moment before shooting through Shade!

"A god, huh?" Urania's voice, dismissive, issues from the darkness behind the monster as she blinks back into existence, dropping into a crouch and sliding back a little as she finishes her turn. "I'm not impressed."

Activating Luminous Evasion, and spending a Hero point so that it does damage on the way past.
Perform check to dodge: Natural 20 + 9 + 4 (Kye's buff) = 33, avoiding the grab and recharging Hitomi's powers.

Shade

The creature of darkness screamed in agony as light ripped and tore through his form. He hit the ground on one knee, gasping for breath. Several of his tentacles were charred stumps. The slimy darkness that was his skin was burned way completely in places, baring sickly green glowing bones beneath.

"Damn you!" he gasped, barely strong enough to speak.

As the tar one, fell to his knees, Euterpe stalked across the scene her high boots clicking as she strode. With her head held high, she began, "Poorest idiot, you take when you could give. You push what could easily be offered. You hide what should be shown and now, as you lie here, you curse when you should ask forgiveness." The staccato of her heels sharp against the tiled floor. "You have no bounds of shame, no art of semblance, honor of word or deed. You ruled minions out of fear, yet the did not fear you but the big bad behind you. Now, look at you, hurt, crippled, limp and alone. Your toys are broken and flaccid or charred." Now she stood over him, and stretching one long leg forward, she planted her heel on his shoulder, "Know your deeds come with a price." Her arm raced forwards, a sweeping arc beneath the upraised chin. With a flick of her wrist, she cleaned her bow and kicked the baron from her heel. The charnal grin now several feet from his shoulders.

Turning to her sisters she bows her head and whispers back beneath her arm to the fallen one behind her, "You are forgiven."

Welcome to the next level!

Shade's skull rolled around on the floor, making the devastated girls gasp and cling to each other. They regarded the magic girls with clear awe, like the heroes they were.

Shade's skull rolled right out of the sludgy shadow. the shadows melted quickly to inky smoke, but even that was quick to disipate. There were a luminious green skeleton beneath. It caugth fire like a marsh light and burned away over a few minutes.

Kye never looked at the remains of Shade, she needed to move forward. Shelter these beauties, that is what she told herself, yet... She had ended him. As she moved from violated beauty she crooned a soothing song, she wished she could play for them. They needed such distraction and between cleansings she would lift her violin and offer a distracting tune. Then it was time to cuddle another in her arms, warm them with her embrace and kiss them with love, a gentle reminder to forget the horrors of the night as a nightmare should be dealt with. She was not above using the Voice, a soothing word to remind them they wish to move forward, to live, to grow stronger from this event, and to support their sisters here in the complex who shared the nightmare. Accept a life of charity as service to others can heal all shames. She always had a song, though her crooning harmony was on key, her heart was in the fiddle and violin music.

As Euterpe advanced upon the gasping demon, Urania glanced away. He was finished; he deserved what was to come, for all he'd done, but she didn't need to see it end. She heard Euterpe's final pronouncement, heard the thud of his falling body, and let out a long, slow breath. That was it, then. They'd won.

The kitsune stood slowly in the dark, lit by the flickering flames of the burning skeleton. She took a moment on her own to catch her breath, glancing over at Shade's fallen skull for a second before turning away again with a sad shake of her head. Then she began to walk back towards the others, giving Euterpe a warm smile and a nod as she passed but not wanting to interrupt the fiddler's music or her work. She came to a stop in front of Kohaku, and dipped into a grateful bow.

"Thank you," she said simply. "We wouldn't have been able to do anything about this if you hadn't warned us."
