Rescued pet (Me and Fancy_Brat)

"That's good. I mean, your appearance is pretty important. Since you'll be joining me today, we'll make sure you're perfectly acceptable. I'm sure you'll be turning heads today." she said with a little giggle. Though nekomimi were more commonly seen as pets, Miranda didn't think she had to dress the part. The uniform Sapphire wore was pretty extravagant really, and they had made sure to buy a few that fit her perfectly. At time, even Miranda felt like getting a uniform for herself, but she didn't really wear dress and such too often.

Miranda grinned, still cupping Sapphire's breasts. "You don't have to be so humble, you know. You do such a great job maintaining your appearance and you know how to keep yourself healthy too. I wouldn't be surprised if some random guy came up and proposed to you while we were out." Miranda tried picturing that scenario herself, looking very amused. Marriages between humans and nekomimi weren't common, especially if the nekomimi was a pet. "Heheh, but I don't think I'd let them snatch you away." she said, her playful tone still evident. She was enjoying hearing those soft mewls and purrs from Sapphire, and though the two were close as friends, Miranda had to say that she might have enjoyed their time together more than she thought. "I'll get your hair then." Miranda went and got some shampoo in her hands before applying it to Sapphire's long hair. "Close your eyes..." She kept this up until her hair was all soaped-up, eventually guiding her back into the water to wash it all out. And as with all the shower gels Miranda had, they left a pleasant aroma on the beautiful nekomimi.

"I don't need to turn heads" She said softly "You're more important than anyone else."

Sapphire had never really been interested in other people Miranda was her mistress. A small smile played at her lips she really didn't mind Miranda wanting her to look pretty though.

"Thank you...I try to keep from making your family look bad" She said softly "I've heard other masters don't care whether or not their pets look nice"

She couldn't help but laugh at the idea of someone proposing to her. She was just another nekomimi no one would ever want her as more than a quick bout of pleasure.

"I wouldn't want to marry them anyway" She said with a smile "Even if someone were to try and propose to me"

She stayed still as Miranda began to wash her hair closing her eyes as she began purr feeling the woman's fingers in her hair. It was so relaxing for her to have her hair being touched and played with.

"I'll wash your hair next" She said with a soft smile.

"Hmm...well I suppose that's true, but even so, it wouldn't hurt to have a few eyes on you every now and then. You are a beautiful young woman and appearance is important!" Even though Sapphire had said that, Miranda was pleased that she was considered the most important person to the nekomimi. She got a bit of pride swelling up in her, and she figured that maybe it was better that she just have her all to herself anyway. It was true that maybe some masters didn't take their pet's appearance into consideration, but since Sapphire was with Miranda, she would make sure she dressed nice. "Now now, you don't have to say anything like that. You can make some mistakes every now and then. I don't think I'll be disappointed, and neither will my dad. You're just like family."

"Well, in the end it is up to you then isn't it? I was just joking you know. But it almost seems like a waste you have such a beautiful creature like you by yourself." When Sapphire offered to wash her hair, Miranda allowed it, moving so Sapphire would be able to pick out one of the many gels.

"The people that stare only look at me because I am a nekomimi" She said softly "They see me as a possession...and will treat me as such...unlike you."

She enjoyed looking nice for Miranda it made her feel proud, she wanted to keep her happy. Her clothes were nice and she kept herself looking nice because it made both her and Miranda happy.

"I do not want to make mistakes" She said softly "You're the kindest owner a pet could have and I want to be nothing but the best pet."

She looked at Miranda as she said that it was a waste for her to be by herself and she gave a soft laugh.

"I'm not by myself" She said softly picking a scent of shampoo she liked to clean Miranda's hair "I have you and your father...how could I be by myself."

Her fingers moved gently through Miranda's hair not wanting to cause miranda any discomfort.

Miranda let out a pleasant sigh, almost as if giving up in trying to get those sorts of thoughts into Sapphire's mind, but at the same time she was glad that she was so dedicated. "That may be so, but I'll let you know I don't think of you at all as a possession. You're very much like the sister I would have liked to have." At least, that's what she was saying now. She was having some different thoughts about Sapphire, but she didn't think she should say anything right now. "Well, I'm quite flattered you think so. I mean, it just doesn't feel right to treat you as such. It even feels odd to say to anyone you're my pet."

She relaxed and allowed Sapphire to apply the shampoo in her hair. She was glad that she was being gentle, careful not to pull at any tangled hair that she might have. "That's right. And we're both more than happy that you're with us. After Dad took you home, I was really hoping you might want to stay with us, even though it wasn't really our choice. That's why I was really happy that you did decide to live with us. I've been having so much fun with you around." Miranda paused to think about all they had done and how much Sapphire had improved in so little time. It was safe to say her life was much more exciting since the beautiful nekomimi came around. "Hmm...I have quite a few things planned for today. I know I'd like to go shopping for a little while, and I have to meet with one of Dad's clients to pick something up...and of course, I'd love for you to come along."

She smiled warmly when Miranda claimed that she was like a sister it made her feel happily.

"Thank you so much..." She said with a bright smile "I haven't felt like part of a family since I left mine."

Sapphire felt so close to Miranda but she wasn't sure if it was family or something more for her. It was so strange to think about but she pushed it from her mind she wasn't sure what to think.

"You do not have to treat me like a pet" She said with a soft smile "However it would be easier for you to claim me as a pet...otherwise I might be stolen from you"

Sapphire finished washing Miranda's hair loving how it felt in her fingers and smiled warmly. It was nice that they had given her the choice to stay and she was very grateful for this lifestyle.

"I am glad that it was you who found me" She said softly "And that I was asked to stay...my life has been better with you."

She wondered what they would do once everything was said and done but she was more than willing to stay with Miranda.

"Of course I would be happy to go with you" She said with a light smile "I enjoy spending time with you."

"Well...that's true. Maybe at least when we're outside I'll try to make it obvious you're with me. But if someone was going to steal you, you better believe I'd run them down and give them a piece of my mind!" Miranda's cheeks puffed up a little as she pouted, not wanting that sort of scenario to play out at all today. Even if she never saw herself doing something like that, she would still do anything she could to make sure Sapphire didn't leave her sight. "But it's not like I'll be putting a leash and collar on you. That might be obvious, but I think it's pushing it a little." Besides, she hadn't seen anyone ever put a cat on a leash. They were usually able to wander about freely and they'd know how to get back home, but she knew better to let Sapphire out by herself.

As they continued talking, they had alternated on washing each other's backs, and from there they were able to take care of themselves. Melanie dressed herself up in a white tanktop and blue jeans, and she made sure to help Sapphire into her uniform before sitting her down to do her hair. Miranda couldn't help but scratch at Sapphire's ears every now and then, watching them twitch a little in response. When they were all set, Miranda double-checked that she had everything she needed before they went out. "We'll be heading out to the mall nearby. From there we can get some shopping in, and Dad's client has an office not too far from there either. "You're all set to go, right?"

"I would let anyone steal me from you" She said "I'm not declawed or defanged"

She knew that Miranda wouldn't hesitate to protect and that thought alone just made her smile happily. As the shower continued she purred when her back was washed it felt good. She behaved like a cat in many ways and enjoyed the feel of being rubbed along her back and being scratched behind the ears.

"Thank you for not leashing me...but I would not be angry if you placed a collar on me" She said softly "It will show that I am yours to other people while we are outside."

When the shower was over she stepped out trying to wipe the water off of her skin before she was handed a towel to dry off with.

"I still hate water" She said softly.

As she redressed in her uniform she smiled as she was sat down to have her hair done. She purred while Miranda worked and purred louder when her ears were scratched.

"You're so nice to me" She said almost dreamily "I never want to leave."

The thought of Sapphire going berserk on someone never really occurred to her. Every time she looked at the girl, the image just didn't make sense. Sapphire was perhaps the most peaceful individual Miranda knew, but perhaps her survival instincts from being in the wild were still intact. "Ah...a collar? I'll think about it. If you really want one, I don't see why I can't get one." Even if Sapphire was fine with it, it felt a little odd to Miranda to have her collared, but she would happily oblige if Sapphire really wanted it. "Of course, with or without the collar, they'll know you're with me since you'll be walking at my side." She didn't take Sapphire along with her too often, but today just felt a like a good day to spend some time together outside the house. Plus, Miranda had been planning to get some clothes for Sapphire besides her uniform.

Miranda found it very amusing that even though Sapphire appeared more human that cat, she still had a dislike for water. At least she as willing to cleanse herself in the shower. "Don't worry about it. At least you get to have me there with you." Every time Sapphire let out little purrs, Miranda almost got carried away. Like a normal cat, she felt she could just sit there and pet her all day, but there had to be a line drawn somewhere. "And I'm glad you don't want to leave, because I don't want you leaving either." When she had finished up with her hair, she hugged Sapphire from behind before moving towards the door. She turned just to make sure Sapphire was following before they stepped outside. The mall was about ten minutes away on foot. "Make sure you stay nice and close, all right?" She had said that since people were already looking over quite curiously at the pair.

"If it will keep us from getting harassed I would gladly wear one" She said with a nod.

She knew that there would be times that she and Miranda would not be together. Miranda was a kind human but she knew that not all were kind for her.

"Do not feel nervous about collaring me" She said with a soft smile "I have no problems wearing one."

She looked at Miranda in the mirror still purring softly she wondered if Miranda were a different person what would happen. Her ears twitched lightly as they were touched and her tail was swaying around. When Miranda was finished she smiled letting out a happy mewl as she was hugged. She stood up and followed Miranda humming happily as they stepped outside.

"Of course" She said with a light nod.

She stayed close to Miranda careful not to stray too far away from her. Her eyes occasionally went to the people who were looking at them.

As they walked on their way, Miranda was wondering where exactly she could get a suitable collar for Sapphire. As much as possible, she planned to avoid stopping by any pet shops along the way, knowing they didn't really have collars for humans/nekomimi. Sapphire openness to wearing a collar made Miranda feel much better, but she wanted to make sure that Sapphire would enjoy it also. A thought suddenly came to mind, and it seemed like maybe they would stop by a pet store along the way if they found one. Suddenly, she seemed to be in an even better mood. "Well then, if you would like a collar, then I have just the perfect thing in mind for you. If you don't mind a little detour, I have a good idea." Miranda could see Sapphire was a little cautious of the people around them. They got mixed expressions, but for the most part, people didn't seem to think of them as odd. If anything, they were curious in the fact they were around the same age. At least Sapphire was quite happy, even humming along as they walked.

A few minutes into their walk, Miranda had spotted a pet shop just across the street. She made sure to have Sapphire follow her, and pretty soon, they had stepped through the doors. There weren't too many customers inside, and the cashier wasn't busy with anyone either. The animals in the shop had become quite interested in the two as they walked in, especially the young kittens to Sapphire. Miranda made sure to scout the shop until she had found what she was looking for. "Oh, Sapphire. Come here really quick." There was a small section with many different collars hanging, varying in size, color, and material. The ones closer to the top seemed to be meant for larger animals, and those were most likely to fit around Sapphire's neck. "Do you see anything here that you like? I'll be sure to buy it for you right now, but you won't be wearing it just yet. I have something special planned." she said with a rather excited grin. Miranda felt a little odd trying to pick one she thought would look the best, so she was hoping Sapphire would find one she liked in particular.

Sapphire didn't really mind where her collar came from after all it was something that would just be there to identify her as an owned pet. Miranda seemed to understand their position and it made her feel relieved she didn't want to get Miranda into any trouble.

"I will do whatever you want mistress" She said with a light smile.

She hadn't been raised a pet but she understood that it would be better to refer to Miranda and her father as master or mistress when out in public. There was no hesitation or disdain in using the term she held no venom against the words or the people they were attached to.

"Did you find a shop?" She asked her softly as she followed Miranda.

As they stepped inside Sapphire looked around smiling brightly and strayed away from Miranda stop by the pen that held the kittens. She let out a soft mewl and reached in to pet the fuzzy little things and they mewled gathering around her hand.

"So cute" She said with a light smile.

She looked up hearing Miranda call her name and straightened up walking over with a light smile. When Miranda told her she looked at the different collars reaching up to grasp them.

"I think this one would the most comfortable" She said pulling down a black leather collar "The others are very rough fabric..."

Miranda went ahead and took the collar from her, examining it a little. There was already a little tag which was meant to have the name for a pet, but Miranda wasn't planning on keeping that there for long. "So this one huh? We'll go buy it right now then." After all, there wasn't anything else for them to look for here, though Sapphire sure enjoyed being around the kittens earlier. She went ahead and placed the collar at the front, waiting for the man to give her the price. She handed the money to him, and after collecting their change, they were off. She had decided not to get a bag, having a bit of fun twirling it about around her finger. "Hmm...it's been quite a while since you first started living with us. I suppose I could think of it as a gift of some sort to commemorate that." She had her next stop planned out already.

As soon as they had arrived in the mall, the air had gotten a little cooler. Miranda pointed out a jewelry store nearby and led Sapphire over. Miranda was sure they could do custom requests. She asked Sapphire to wait near the entrance, mainly just so the final result would be a surprise. She stepped up to the counter and set the collar on the counter. "Hello, I'd like to request a change in this. If you could replace this with...hmm...this over here..." She had pointed to one of the items in the glass, a clear diamond-shaped jewel. "Oh, and you can do inscriptions, yes? If you could put the name 'Sapphire' in it, that would be great." The price was a little much, but Miranda could easily pay for it. It didn't take too long to get back to Sapphire. "They said they'll be done in about an hour. That gives us time to go shopping! I wanna see you in some other cute clothes of your own besides your uniform, especially when we're just in the house all day."

"Yes...if I'm going to be wearing it I want it be comfortable" She said with a light smile.

She nodded and while Miranda went to pay she drifted back over to the kittens who had been mewling. Once Miranda had paid she followed her out of the store with a bright smile. When Miranda spoke again she just looked at her it wasn't a question so she didn't respond. It was strange to think that she was a pet like those kittens but it wasn't bad.

"Thank you for agreeing to a collar" She said "It will make things much easier for the both of us."

Sapphire looked up at the mall as they approached and she wondered what kinds of stores they would find in there. She looked around at all the people who passed them by a couple had pets of their own. Looking at them she couldn't help but notice the vacancy in their eyes, she knew people like here were mistreated as pets and it made her wonder how easily she could have been in their position.

"Oh yes...I'll wait" She said softly as they came to the jewelry store.

She stayed by the entrance while Miranda walked up to the counter and she looked around not sure Miranda was thinking. There were people who looked at her but they passed by and she was glad that no one spoke to her. She looked over at Miranda as she walked over and smiled at Miranda.

"Alright...if that's what you want to do" She said with a nod "I'm looking forward to shopping."

"Well then, let's be on our way." She was glad Sapphire hadn't run into any problems being left near the entrance. She knew some people might have glanced over at her since she was by herself, but upon noticing Miranda as the only customer there, they wouldn't say anything. As they made there way towards the clothing department, they came across a few individuals that had brought along pets as well. It was safe to say both master/mistress and pet would be surprised to see Sapphire in such nice clothes. Those other pets didn't seem quite so excited to be in the company of their owners, though it was clear they looked a little jealous of Sapphire. Miranda did her best to give an encouraging look, but they couldn't be there for long. Sapphire probably wouldn't have been too comfortable either. "You know, I'd imagine that not all pets would be mistreated. Of course, some people have different reasons for wanting them in the first place. Just know that you don't have to worry about anything. I know I've told you this plenty of times, but I really find it hard to think of you as a pet. Even with your collar and everything from here on, I doubt I'll really think of you like that." Miranda had reached up to gently scratch behind her ears again, perhaps to further prove her point.

For a while, she had forgotten she was still scratching Sapphire's ears, and by the time she stopped, they found themselves in the women's clothing department. Miranda figured she could find Sapphire some clothes similar to what she wore, but she also couldn't shake the feeling she'd look nice in some dresses. Occasionally, they would have some guests over for dinner or to discuss business, but they hadn't done anything like this in the time Sapphire was with them. Maybe the client they were meeting up with today would come by eventually. "Let's see...if there's anything you like here, let me know. I might check out some dresses for you too."

"Those poor girls" She said softly as they passed.

She didn't meet the eyes of the masters she didn't want to see them or even acknowledge that they were human. Looking over at Miranda she didn't want to think about the things that happened to those poor pets.

"I know you won't hurt me" She said with a light smile "You're very kind to me."

She smiled softly feeling her start to scratch her ears and let out a soft purr it felt great. Her focus on her ears being scratched by Miranda that she didn't notice when they stopped in front of the clothing store. Sapphire shook her head to come back to her sense when Miranda stopped and chuckled lightly.

"Alright" She said with a nod "Whatever you think will look nice on me"

She didn't really know anything about fashion but she would pick out some clothes in colors or fabrics she herself enjoyed.

There were so many different things Miranda thought Sapphire would look good in. Though as much as she wanted to drag her around and toss some clothes on her in the dressing room, she was curious about what would grab Sapphire's attention. "If anything catches your eye, let me know and I'll see about getting your size. I don't think the measurements will be too different from your uniform. What colors do you like anyway?" She went about the women's department with Sapphire, hoping she'd pick some things out along the way. When they had come up to the lovely summer dresses, she was already picturing Sapphire walking about on a beach like that. The lighter colors were a must to contrast Sapphire's dark hair. After checking the sizes and prices, Miranda had already gone ahead and picked out a couple of them. "I'm sure you'll like these."

Miranda would pick out a few things for herself, but she always had more clothes for Sapphire as they walked around. Any passerbys would give the pair a curious look, perhaps not used to seeing a pet follow so eagerly behind their master/mistress.
