Tanis took a deep breath and looked up at the house, here he was, her house, biting his lip the red headed teen raised his hand and knocked at the door, expecting a servant to answer, his deep green eyes looking around him nervously. Tanis was hoping to become a squire, and he had heard stories of an elven woman who thought of herself as a knight! of course she wasn't accepted by most other knights as one of them, she was famed for being able to best most of her challengers. The 18 year old dressed simply, a dark grey tunic, and black pants as well as a pair of boots, rubbing his arm he let out a sigh, was she not home? maybe he should come back, In truth he didn't know why he had thought to ask her, of all the knights, surely she didn't have a squire, but she also wasn't technically a knight, maybe it was because he had always wanted to see an elf, maybe it was because he wanted to see just how good she was, or if all the stories were lies, he didn't have much time to think about it as he heard footsteps approach the door.

Aiko was kneading some dough when she heard someone knocking. For someone who was over 150 years old she passed for a 21 year old human. In appearance wise only. She stood there for a moment with her pointed ear catching the sound of fabirc rustling. The young elven woman was wearing a hunter green dress that laced over her chest. She only dressed in a simple dress when she was enjoying time to herself.

Sighing as she wiped her hands on a cloth and strolled over to the door. She stood at 5`3, short for an elf, though her figure wasn't slender but firm and tight. Her green eyes sparked with life as her long white hair fell over her face when she opened the door. There stood the awkward teenager with his ruffled red hair. "Can I help you?" She spoke softly as her soft red lips formed the words to disguise any accent she may have from the northern mountains.

He was astonished, he knew they were suppose to be beautiful but "o-oh...i'm...i'm Tanis..." he bowed deeply "and...i've come to discuss how I might...become your squire..." he said, looking at her face, hoping for a good reaction, he felt his eyes wander down her, and he blushed a little "I understand your a very good knight a-and I'd like to offer myself to you, I'll be your servant in return for training...." he looked hopefully at her, beside his leg was a large bag, obviously full of his things.

She listened to him carefully and noted the bag at his side. She figured he left home for this but she turned her eyes away from him.

"How positive are you that a knight lives here?" Her voice was soft when she spoke but a villager walked by and shouted to her about being a useless female knight. Aiko hung her head as this abuse was getting old but instead of sending Tanis away she stepped aside to let him in.

"I don't need a servant here." She informed him but she wanted to help him atleast. "Just tell me why you want me to train you?"

"w-well I am prepared to do whatever it takes to earn your training...." he said simply, and quietly lifted his bag, and stepped in "I want you to train me because..." he realized why he wanted to "because I believe you offer a unique perspective, being both an elf and a woman, I thought perhaps you would have some insight that more common knights might never know..." he looked at her, and smiled a little, his smile handsome and young and carefree.

(i have to go for now, ill reply later)

(Alright. I need to go anyways. Its getting late)

She looked back at him over her shoulder when he mentioned how she could help him. Looking away thinking it over. "I was trained in two different ways. The way of the elves and the human way. I can teach you the human way for the time being. If you are ready I'll teach you some of my elven ways." Though she noticed his smile was handsome and she was taken back by it.

"I have a spare room that you can stay in." She beckon him to follow her as her hips swayed to her steps when she lead him down the hall past the kitchen then showed him to a room with a tall soft bed but there wasn't much room. "I'm sorry there isn't much room but its the best I can do with what resources I have."

He nodded and followed her unable to stop himself from grinning, he watched her walk, her hips almost hypnotic, he bit his lip and followed her to his room "i-it will be fine miss...." he said, and walked in, putting his bag on the ground by the bed, and turning to her, smiling again "I'm Tanis by the way...."

She looked at him when he slipped into the room then him telling her name a second time. "I know...You already told me." She didn't want to tell him hers but she stepped back and left him there. Sighing as she went back to the kitchen where she kneaded the dough once more then set it aside then realized she didn't have much wood left to bake.

"Dang it...Tanis can you help me?" She shouted to him from the kitchen and moved a lock of hair from her face and flour went on her face. She was messy but she was planning what to teach this young man first.

he blushed, obviously very nervous "oh....s-sorry..." he said simply and looked down, taking a deep breath he began to unpack, soon she called him and he ran to her "what is it you need miss?" he asked, looking at her with an eager smile, he saw her with flour on her face and smiled, she looked...cute... "do you need help making the bread?" he asked, seeing the dough.

She gave a small laugh but smiled at him. "I got it covered just. I forgot to bring some wood in to bake it. There is wood by the back door already cut. Would you bring 5 peices in? Also when you get back I need to talk to you."

She figured the phrase 'I need to talk to you' would scare anyone. All she needed to know from him what he was comfortable with, weapon wise.

He nodded "of course miss..." he turned to leave "o-of course..." he nodded, a little worried, what did she want? soon he had brought in the wood, and began putting it into the stove, when that was done he turned to her "would you like to talk now? or should we talk later?"

She watched him leave then come back with the wood. Walking over as she placed the dough in a pan and placed it in the oven with the fire roaring. Hearing the worry in his voice about her needing to talk to him. Smiling as she turned to him.

"What kind of weapon experience do you have?" She asked in her natural soft voice. Her sharp eyes watched his reaction. "I'm not going to throw you out for being new to weapons. As it seems you have nowhere else to go." She remembered the large bag he had when she saw him at the door.

He looked at her, she was a few inches taller then him "weapon experience....well i've used a sword some...and...and a spear...but beyond that...almost nothing..." he knew most knights l earned every weapon available to them, but rightfully so they chose there best to carry into battle, often taking two or even three "are those alright? I wouldn't want you to help me with a weapon you don't like..."

"Tanis, I'm over 150 years old so I have some experience with many weapons. In the morning I need to see what you can do with the weapons atleast." She stated as she went to a bucket and poured some of the water into a bowl and washed ehr hands. The thought of asking one of her friends to lend their horse came into mind.

Drying her hands as she looked at him. "If you are going to train under me you are going to have to learn how to ride a horse. I only have one and he's...He prefers I ride him but my friend could lend us one so you can ride one of her mares when you are training."

"Ok, thats fine" he smiled "I-I wouldn't want to be a burden...please let me pay at least partly for it..." he said "not to purchase it of course...but as a rental of sorts..." he looked down, Her eyes distracted him, and he felt himself blushing.

"No Tanis. I have no need for your money." She turned away from him as if to walk away but stopped and lookedover her shoulder at him.

"As payment you can call me Aiko." She told him over her shoulder at him. He seemed shy and meak. "Tell me Tanis you never told me why you wanted to be trained as a knight."

"if...if you insist..." he said simply, and looked at her "Aiko....alright..." he nodded "Lady Aiko..." he smiled, such a nice name... "oh well, I want to....protect people..." obviously that was not fully thought out "I mean....my family, I want to learn to protect my family....and the people I care for...." this sounded much more meaningful and real.

Turning on her heel as she moved towards him and her slender hand went to his chest, pushing him back abit out of the kitchen. "To protect people? Why do you feel the need to protect?"

She knew this was maybe asking to much from him but she needed to know he was worthy of her training. "You need to know why and also you are willing to lay your life on the line for these people. Is protecting people in your blood or are you wanting them to acknowledge you for yoru services?"

He was surprised how strong the thin elf woman was, she could probably easily overpower him if she so choose too "w-what?" he was knocked off guard by her sudden actions "No I don't care about recognition..." he shook his head, and looked away "I just...don't want people to constantly have to worry about being attacked and...raped or killed or robbed...' he sighed "I was always picked on, cause im kinda small...and....and I want to prove that I can be strong and protect people, more to myself then anyone else....I just want to know I can help people, and that they don't need to worry....even if they don't know who I am..."

She was surprised he blurted it all out. Tucking her hair behind her ear as she listened to him. "Good answer." Smiling as she moved away from him and went to the oven. There she pulled the bread out and set it aside. "Just about anything here is at your access but my horse and my room." She figured she might as well set down some rules for him.

"horse...and room..." he nodded "of course..." he bowed, still a little shaken by her sudden surge of power against him, he stood back up "I'll go back to unpacking then..." he walked down the hallway towards his room.

She didn't stop him from going to his room as she followed him to her room, which was right across from his. When he went into his room she opened her door as it was the same size of his room but the bed was smaller. The blankets were hand made like his but on her walls had swords, spears, staffs, daggers, and shields. In the corner was her armor. The armor was a hunter green with silver elven chain mail.

he sat down on the bed and sighed quietly, beginning to unpack more of his things, he then sighed and laid down, feeling very tired, he closed his eyes and within minutes was lost to sleep in the comfortable bed.

When morning came Aiko was outside brushing her black horse down as her friend brought the mare over for Tanis to train on "Thank you, Donald." The man nodded and walked off. In silence she turned to get Tanis up. Aiko was wearing brown cotton pants and a white tunic. Her hair was tied back as she went inside and went to Tanis's door. "Tanis, are you up?" She didn't want to walk in on him in case he slept nude.

he nodded and sighed tiredly "yes miss!" he called and yawned, he did sleep nude, sitting on the side of the bed he started preparing for the day. He dressed in a dark red shirt and brown pants, pulling on his tall boots, he opened the door and smiled a little at her, his smile cute and hansone, a sort of innocence to it.
