((Nobody's got Climbing/Jumping, so it's all Strength attributes. Chay's sliding down before he gets pulled down by the weight of the tentacle, and I'm going to rule he'll step aside as Cersei barrels down right after him. He said he'd had his longsword out, and he never said he sheathed it again. Now, as declared, Cersei is also readying her weapon, but she also never sheathed her own sword, so I'm just going to have her bring it up as she lands and taking a swing as she casts her spell (if she had to draw, it would be an action, although drawing doesn't take a dice test, so that would be 4 actions, meaning each roll would be -3D and she wouldn't have a die to roll for her sliding down if she tried that, and if she doesn't make the sliding roll, it's pointless, anyway, cause she'll end up flat on her ass and possibly injured). So both of them were working semi-awkwardly, but still working, with their swords.))
((Chay needs to resolve first: Strength is 4D, 5, 6, 4, 3 = 18, quite enough to resolve the slide down safely. Now it's Cersei's turn: Strength is 3D, -2D for multiple actions, 6 = lucky Wild Die! Reroll 3 = 9 total, which will do for now. The spell needs to be cast before the weapon strikes, so Empower Weapon is Energetics, which is 2D, +1D amulet, but the wand isn't in play as her hands are full, -2D multiple actions, 6 = goddamn, girl is lucky! Reroll 6, reroll 3 gives her exactly the 15 she needs! Holy crap, I didn't think that would work. But Empower Weapon is in effect as she makes a swing: Melee Weapons 5D, -2D for multiple actions, 5, 6, 4 = 15, and her luck holds. I honestly didn't think she'd make it through so many actions successfully, but it seems to have worked out. Damage is 3D Strength, +1D+2 bastard sword, +2D Empower Weapon, 2, 2, 3, 6, 2, 6 = 21, and again, I'm keeping the thing's Strength secret.))
((With everybody else creating a distraction right in front of the creature, Koh will attempt to blend in with the tunnel wall and circle off to the side, it's a reasonably wide chamber right here, so he'll try and move to a flanking position (which does not provide special dice bonuses, it's just a good tactical choice). Sneak 6D, +3D magical cloak, 2, 5, 3, 1, 6, 1, 5, 4, 2 = 29, and Cersei must have used up all the luck, but it's still freakin' high, so Koh melts into the shadows and hustles to a tactically wiser position))
((Oh, and just to get a jump; neither of them have Willpower skills, so Chay's 2D Knowledge roll is 6, 6, Reroll 3 = 15, and Cersei's 4D Knowledge roll is 2, 5, 6, 4 = 17. Both do not go mad at the sight of the thing.))
Chay slid down the rusty rails, his fighting gloves and the longsword hilt still held, icepick-like, in his hand squealing as he followed the call of gravity. The flaming tentacle coiled on the rock floor beneath him as he slid, and he landed in the midst of the fiery mass, sending sparks and gobbets of burning fat and gristle and tough alien muscle flying. His boots smoldered as he stumbled to the side, swinging his longsword in an arc to bring it up to fighting position now that he had the room to maneuver it, almost coincidentally severing the tip of the tentacle right at his ankle. He ended up at fighting ready, eyes widening as he took in the almost indescribable horror of the thing in front of him.
Cersei was close behind Chay, barely keeping her control on the slide down the rails, and stumbling a bit on her landing, almost slipping on the flaming remains pooling at the bottom of the shaft, but she still kept her footing, spinning and bringing the bastard sword around, her mind sending mystical energy charging through its blade. She had time to register the terrifying alien-ness of the monster before her sword blade bit into its human-like cheek, smeared with lines like runny ink, and the flesh around the wound frosted over with ice. Her blade slid cleanly through the flesh, and was unimpeded through the width of the mouth, slicing through the other cheek, as well.
The sword blade swung free as the creature reared back, and the underside of its slug-like body was nothing but a mass of tentacles. The sides of its mouth hung loosely, giving it a rictus grin that only seemed to make it more evil, and it stared down at Cersei... in the harsh white glow from her gemlight, comparatively tiny glittering humanlike eyes locked onto hers, incongruously small for the huge, stretched-out face. It was like a palpable wave of hatred that issued forth from the thing.
It reared back, and then kept sliding, as if the floor were frictionless. The slithering noise they had been hearing was as echoey and faint in person as it had been heard at a distance, but the thing backed up at tremendous speed and dashed into a side passage, leaving the chamber. As it left, the room suddenly got warmer, back up to the usual underground temperatures (still comparatively chill from what they were used to, but no longer cold enough to see their breath), and the oppressive sense of air pressure also went back to normal for the area, actually making their ears pop with the change.
They were momentarily alone in the chamber.
