After posting your character here, you're most likely ready to just join the roleplay. This is an open RP, after all. Profiles can contain reference pictures and that sort or not.

Ideally, the characters who were never human belong in the monster category, the humans who fight monsters are hunters of some sort. And the third category would be normal humans who may be relatively dry to play for some folk. Not that I'd ask anyone not to try it.

As far as I am concerned the only wrong answers would be: Canon characters from any fandom(Even with minor adjustments to names or appearances), Grossly overpowered characters, and that's just about it.

Following the example profile skeleton isn't required.
(Admittedly, Not the best.)

Example in the spoiler below.

OOC

Arkasian of the Nine Hells

Alias: Marco Demodine
Age: 950
Species: Chain Demon (monster)
Appearance: A tall thin man with pale skin, piercing dark purple eyes and black hair. He had sharp facial features and looks like he is in his mid thirties.
His true form is an eight foot tall humanoid creature that appears lank and thin, his skin is pitch black and is wrapped in black iron chains and pitch soaked rope. A crown of horns grows from his head and he has haunting ghostly eyes. He appears to have no mouth, until it opens to reveal needle like teeth that are shards of broken gallows.
Immediate Affiliation: Hunter
Gender: Male
Sexual Preference: Feminine genders preferred.

Brief History: A creature from the deepest depths of the nine Hells. He was summoned to earth by a dark cult of other monsters to do their bidding in the 13 century and kept a slave for five hundred years until he managed to slip his leash. He has to hunt down and kill all two hundred of the cultists who summoned him before he can return to the hells. He has killed all but twenty.

Personality: He is a somewhat reclusive figure, preferring to keep to himself since others have either been afraid him or hunted him. He knows his other hunters woudl seek to destroy him if they knew his identity so he keeps his true nature a secret at all costs. Humans are afraid of him so he has only ever opened up to one before about what he is. He is otherwise polite, smart, somewhat distant. But has a kind nature he has learned from humans, though it is difficult to draw out. He rarely uses his true form to maintain cover and also because it is straining on him to use it in combat in the human world, unless near a gate to hell.

Powers/Ability: In his human form he is extremely agile and quick, he can use shadow magic to hide himself or others and to create illusions. He uses enchanted iron chains which he controls with his mind. He can make any rope, cable, or chain, his through touching it. He also has accelerated healing and immunity to disease. In his true form he has incredible strength, razor sharp claws and teeth, and can use shadow magic to bend reality within a small space. His skin is too tough to be pierced by swords and spears and he can regenerate.

Weapons:

Shadow Magic: shadow magic allows him to harness shadows to conceal himself from sight and sound or to creat minor illusions.

Adyssal Bindings: the cursed bindings of cursed souls, these chains cannot be destroyed by normal means and are strong enough to bind the greatest of fiends or crush their thorats.

Marco/Arkasian looks like a solid character. I do wonder how he'll interact with my character.

Eto Roman - Sword of the Sacred Vale
Age: 120

Species: Human

Appearance: Roman wears blue and white robes with thin white wraps that cover his abdomen and legs and clings to itself so it doesn't fall while he fights. His hair is long, illustrious and white paired with his large deep blue eyes and his broad shoulders and fit body presents a man that could only be imagined in myth and legend. His height makes ever having to look up into someone else's eyes a rarity, some door frames actually forcing him to pay attention and bring his head down or he'll slap his forehead on them. Despite his age, his skin is youthful and his facial structure more resembles a late-twenties male.

Immediate Affiliation: Hunter

Gender: Male

Sexual Preference: Women (And those that appear to be so).

Brief History: Roman was recovered as a child from his German parents by agents of the Sacred Vale shortly after the turn of the 19th century. At this time, the Sacred Vale's agents operated largely in secrecy. Roman was dying from a rabid vampire attacking him. Foul blood swelled within his young body and without intervention, he would simply pass away. Elders from within the vale linked his soul with a mighty artifact and despite falling into a coma from the foul blood, Roman survived. This foul blood remained in his system despite this intervention. With training, the artifact and Roman grew together into the mighty weapon that the Sacred Vale is mostly known for today. An Agent of this vale that despite their continued secrecy, is well known among monsters and hunters alike.

Personality: There is an imposing air around Roman wherever he goes. Despite what he may be doing at the time, Roman can be difficult to approach as his eyes and physical appearance are so otherworldly. Honor-bound, dutiful, diligent, Roman is a business first and play later sort of man. He is prone to helping others and sacrificing himself when pushed to act before he gets time to think. He owes his life to the Sacred Vale and he won't forsake them or defenseless humans for any monster. Deep down, under the serious outer shell, he desires to tease and play with others to understand them and grow closer to them. He eventually starts to smile and warm up around those he works with. Even for those he considers to be his friends, Roman can be a romantic. He contemplates about how he'll spend his free time around them and perhaps what they might like to have as gifts. Despite his calm and stoic atmosphere, Roman isn't exactly an expert on the human condition or what humans want.

Powers/Abilitys: Purified Vampire Blood courses through Roman's veins. Surviving a failed conversion has changed his body in a number of small ways. Roman no longer ages and his body requires significantly more severe injuries to slay him. Although he won't regenerate within the same fight that he was wounded, he can eventually restore any wound that isn't immediately fatal. Since he awoke from the coma, he's been capable of training beyond human limits and over a hundred years of finely tuning himself has granted him strength, speed and durability that no human could possibly possess. His bond to his weapon grants him numerous benefits as well.

Weapons: Futenbayashi: Accommodations of the Wind God. Once a broken blade that lay dormant within the Sacred Vale now owes it's reconstruction to the fading human soul of Eto Roman. This weapon is directly responsible for his efficiency in slaying monsters as it allows him to forgo the more tedious rituals required to dispatch of monsters that cannot normally be slain by human weapons thanks to this weapon's relationship to a powerful deity. It takes the shape of a Katana with a sharp-wave pattern along the blade and a black and gold hilt and decoration. A white sheath decorated with light blue seals prevents the weapon from flaring up and causing problems in relation to Roman's emotions outside of combat. While unsheathed, winds gather and encircle the blade and loosely around Roman himself. This effect grows overtime and grants Roman more speed and slicing power along with the occasional ranged attacks by focusing these winds and then slashing towards his targets. As Roman's only weapon, he lacks alternative forms or a large library of types of attacks along with almost little to no defense of any kind. Despite being a powerful offense, Roman must rely entirely on how agile and perceptive he is to survive.

Arianrhod Williams

Age: appears mid-twenties, actually is over 200 years old

Species: Human shifter

Appearance: Arianrhod stands about 5’7” tall in her normal human form, weighs a decent 170 pounds (she’s a little on the chubby side), has blonde hair and green eyes. She sports a Delightfully Decent bust (DD, for those not paying attention), and tends to wear glasses to assist her vision. She can shift to a wolf form, though she tends to hide this from her fellow hunters unless absolutely necessary. In this form, she retains her green eyes, though her blonde locks shift to a dark charcoal gray fur that covers her whole body. She stands at a towering 7’ height, and her weight increases to a heavy 250, though it’s all muscle. She doesn’t need to wear her glasses in this form, and retains her faculties and speech.

Immediate Affiliation: Hunter

Gender: Female

Sexual Preference: Bi, male leaning

Brief History: Arianrhod hails from a long line of monster hunters from Wales, though her immediate family migrated to America in the late 1890s. Just before the dawn of the 2000s, Arianrhod discovered a frightening truth about her family: despite their being hunters, they were also monsters, shifters specifically. The Williams family had a long line of bad blood between those who felt they should hunt down monsters who dared try to eliminate the human race and those who felt they should feed their animalistic desires and feed on human flesh. Her discovery was sparked by an incident that, according to the news reels, left three men and one woman dead in a New York back alley. She had been out with a friend, and, in taking a shortcut, was the victim of a mugging gone wrong. Despite giving the men their money and jewelry, they shot the two girls, killing Arianrhod’a friend and wounding her. Somehow, the adrenaline rush from the wound sparked her first transformation, and she tore the men apart before regaining her composure enough to flee the scene.

Personality: She is typically shy and soft spoken in her human form, tending to remain aloof and distant toward those she knows very little. If she knows someone very well, however, they are guaranteed to have someone to cuddle with whenever they want. In her wolf form, though, she tends to be quite a lot more confident in herself, perhaps even aggressive in nature.

Powers/Abilities: In her human form, she doesn’t have many abilities. Despite being a little hefty, she remains flexible and light on her feet in a fight. As a wolf, she has althetic abilities one might consider superhuman. She’s incredibly strong, impervious to most blades, and has a regenerative healing factor. She also is much faster in this form.

Weapons: In her human form, Arianrhod carries dual pistols, a steel claymore sharpened to razor fineness, and a knife in case she needs it. While retaining the pistols in her wolf form, she discards the claymore and knife, preferring to use her fangs and claws in a fight rather than the blades.

Fujin - The Shinto God of Wind
Kaze-no-Kami

Age: Ridiculously old.

Species: Monster

Appearance: Fujin appears to be a green skinned Oni with wild red hair and a bulky upper body that remains shirtless. His skin is like sculpted emeralds and his eyes change colors on whim. While he often wears simple brown slippers and baggy white pants, he can change both size and his clothing on whim as well. A constant detail outside of his monstrous evil shape would be his thumb and three fingers of both hands meant to symbolise the four directions. His true form always has two toes, whether what he is wearing displays this or not.

Immediate Affiliation: N/A

Gender: Male

Sexual Preference: Women, if he finds interest.

Brief History: Fujin and his more popular brother, Raijin are both offspring of Izanagi the first male of the Shinto gods. Their influence is contributed to various weather phenomena around Japan throughout history. Fujin's domain is the wind, resulting in all sorts of either beneficial or malevolent occurrences like Typhoons or warding off invaders of Japan. Although it is more common to hear of short tales about his brother, parents teaching their children how to conduct themselves to avoid Raijin's thunderous wrath, Fujin can be a bit nasty himself. Various artifacts and creatures and cultures can trace their lineage back to this green wizard of the skies. This includes Futenbayashi, the sword that the Sacred Vale tied to Eto Roman to save his young life. While such a weapon seems immediately fierce in both power and convenience, this is a mere trinket in the ancient eyes of this deity. Although, even though he could craft another if he finds himself troubled with more enemies that require rituals to defeat, he does check in on his little creation from time to time.

Personality: Fujin is often an outsider to the modern world as he no longer floats prominently in modern culture. This is fine by him as it allows him to toy with other powerful creatures out of the immediate context of the human versus monster battle. He lacks traditional human morality as those familiar with his mischief can tell you that he does not recognize any hard/fast lines in the divide of good and evil. He may pay occasional special caution to his actions if the concept of getting his brother involved may occur. This is often why he avoids showing himself or making his acts obvious to humans as their recognition of him could lead him into a real conflict with other heavy hitters in his pay grade. To this end, he isn't motivated to act in any immediate or severe way anywhere humans are present. He's only mildly jealous of his brother's popularity. Fujin is a trickster. Mischievous. He doesn't fawn over mortal struggles or their feeble treasures. He extracts his entertainment by thwarting the efforts of particularly motivated powerful beings, especially if he can demonstrate his cunning by acting entirely without being noticed. There is a fondness that he extends to Futenbayashi, and to some far lesser extent, Roman. Like an adult fawning over some childhood toy. This isn't nearly as obvious or potent as his immediate love for his potent bag of winds.

Powers/Abilitys: Fujin possesses immense creative and destructive magical powers. When motivated properly, especially when accompanied by his brother, almost nothing can survive the vast storms and typhoons they can create together. Almost any mischievous spell of deception that can be conceived may lend itself to Fujin's arsenal. Combat-wise, mortals rarely stand a snowball's chance in hell at keeping up with his logic-shattering speed and mighty powerful wind-based ranged attacks. His primary means of combat can be considered to be much like Futenbayashi's wind attacks, except almost indefinitely more powerful and varied. This is blindingly more frightening as he opens the long satchel/bag he keeps around his neck in the direction of any foe. While his speed and power output paired with his status as a Shinto God can be quite unnerving, his presence in a fight can only last as long as the physical representation does. His body can be quite easily destroyed by any head-on powerful non-wind-based attack. Once this shape is distorted he must recollect himself and thus no longer has a presence on the battlefield. Any anti-trickster, anti-angel, anti-magic enchantment can get that job done in a hurry. He's not immune to spells and bindings that are tuned for his particular presence in mind.

Although his death cannot be secured, he is most certainly not unstoppable. Especially if one had a being like Raijin on their side. And he's frequently forgotten because he lacks the desire to start real fights any way. No rational monster or hunter fears Fujin, especially those that know him. He doesn't care to fight crime or stick his neck out, despite his arsenal of tricks that could allow him to do so in a lesser way without attracting the ire of his kin.

Weapons: Fujin carries a Bag that floats around his neck filled to the brim with endless wind. Without any discernable special name, this item lends Fujin his immense might and he simply can't compete with those like his brother without it. Thankfully, due to his trickster oriented brain, he has various tactics and sneaky spells that keeps it firmly within his grasp. Any mortal to obtain such an item could prove disastrous. Although they might not be as frightening as Fujin himself could be, he almost always exercises restraint with his potent power. Said human or mortal monster likely wouldn't know how to keep themselves from destroying whole settlements in awful nigh unstoppable typhoons. In the roughest moral observation of Fujin's restraint and his presence keeping others from obtaining such a mighty force, he could be seen as morally just. At least in that finite and specific context.

Just to include my take on the Shinto Wind God to the rp lore. While I don't necessarily think playing him would be unfair(even if sound arguments could be made either way), I won't be playing him unless we agree to have him do something plotty. In essence: Just for the lore. Not a character I will be playing like Roman.

High Priestess Shana
Age: 1398
Species: Demonified Human (Monster)

squamatalacertila-demon-high-priestess-v2.png

Immediate Affiliation: Monster

Brief History: Was once the high priestess of a temple in a long ago time, but was altered into the demonic being that she is today, along with the rest of her followers.
Personality: Shana is a much more passive player than other monsters, not engaging the opponent offensively and generally staying behind lines. She has a rather hedonistic approach to life and is not overtly aggressive; instead, she focuses on providing support for other monsters. She also enjoys corrupting religious folk and eating chocolate.
Powers/Abilitys:
-Corruptive Aura: Has an aura that seeps corruption into the surrounding area, twisting the environment to be more demonic, gradually mutating it.

Weapons: None

Dekard Thornweave - Purest Blood

Age: 34

Species: Vampire (Monster)

Appearance:

11380110_699465333533653_1660139287_n.jpg

Immediate Affiliation: Monster

Gender: Male

Sexual Preference: Anything generally female in appearance that submits.

Brief History: A mix of luck and the blood of the parents determines the grade of a Vampire. The closest their genes are to the original, to the first King's, the more potent their abilities are and the less human they can pretend to be. As a freakish anomaly born out of wedlock between the Warlock house and the Thornweave house, it is assumed that Dekard's blood is so pure that it could just as easily have run from the first King's veins. Although initially unaware of this bastard son's theoretical perfection, the Thornweave house quickly learned of it and reclaimed Dekard as undeniably Lissandra Thornweave's son. From here, cult religions and even movements to elect this glory boy as the future King of Vampires had sprung up among the fanged community.

Personality: Being so prestigious, even among elites, Dekard's attention is often saught after by any vampire. To the point of ridiculously childish bickering even between nobles. Dekard, himself, can be incredibly boisterous and charismatic. Like a darker version of a fairy tale Prince, only as though his tale were crafted for the modern young adult women instead of children. He is dominant in everything he does. Taking action, taking charge, making the first move, directing others. While hot headed types often won't get along with this trait, Dekard is quick to cast aside dead weight. He is confident in his own ability to the point that he isn't afraid to cut down powerful allies who get in his way. He isn't a moral figure. This is the epitome of the royal blood manifest. His goal is to further his kind and enslave the incompetent and weak humans. This is a polarizing figure. Even other monsters won't enjoy his flashy captain-esq role or his complete disregard for those that don't immediately benefit him. Loyalty can be earned with him by those who are competent like him. Dekard can be mean when he needs to be. He can often find himself playing the lighthearted bully among friends and even lovers. To him, politeness and respect for all is woefully boring. The word 'elite' applies all to well.

Powers/Abilitys: Despite his comparable youth, Dekard spares no one the chance to witness the cruel abilities wielded by the first King that clawed a name for his kind among all monsters and secured a stable throne among the damned. Dekard's primary ability is one only shared by himself and this legendary figure: The unchallenged domain over human and vampire blood. In essence, he can effortlessly turn untrained humans and lesser vampires into puppets and even make them and himself levitate by making this blood move like a Pyromancer controls fire. He can force his own blood to solidify quickly into metal-like sharp projectiles and weapons or slowly into incredibly dense shields and walls. His body can momentarily dissipate into a red fog to minimize the effectiveness of physical attacks or attempts to bind him. On top of that, Dekard can even dominate the minds of and escape into the bodies of particularly weak willed individuals. While his perception greatly outpaces his literal speed, he most certainly isn't slow by monster standards and his physical strength grows immensely after feeding. Since he can become fog and rematerialize, destroying his body would have to be the slowest and most tedious means of killing Dekard. Stakes to the heart, sunlight, traditional holy water, garlic and crosses have very little effect on Dekard and his black soul's great divide from humanity prevents psychic domination of any kind. However, he has a very reliable weakness in fire attacks and fire magic. Unlike most attacks, this chemically alters his fog and the blood it makes contact with, effectively destroying large swathes of his body with very little effort.

Weapons: Black Diamond Engagement Ring - Dekard posses a portion of his blackened evil soul in the shape of a big black diamond on an almost clear metal alloy ring that is enchanted to adjust snugly to its wearer. This rightfully stays far away from his own fingers. After picking a particular vampire to be his mate, this ring would serve as a means for him to return within their body should he be defeated. Somewhat like possession until an incubation period is complete and he can reform his own body. This process isn't a guarantee. Said partner could be unpredictable or his primary body's demise could be such that his entire being is erased.

I like Shana. She seems like a brave direction for a monster character visually speaking.

Renji - The Crimson Autumn

Age: 1500~

Species: Kitsune

Appearance:
autumn_by_ksugarfree-d49yt21.jpg

Immediate Affiliation: Monster

Gender: Male

Sexual Preference: Pansexual

Brief History: Succeeding his parents and older siblings early in his life left little to be desired in the area of bettering himself and growing as a young Kitsune. Even though the majestic other world he originates from is virtually endless and filled to the brim with magic and beautiful eternal creatures, Renji quickly grew bored of this place. Most of the ageless kitsune like himself resigned to their peaceful perfect life with their mate within that world. As his problem made this once vibrant fox grow silent and distant for decades, the other beasts and forest creatures encouraged one of the more powerful Eternals to help him with his problem so they can have their old friend back. And yet, the solution to his problem was one that would only allow him to escape their realm and spend even less time with them. Despite his un-aging and late teens appearance, Renji is fond of his memories of swindling early man and attempting to mate with humans before the modern technological age.

Personality: Renji's most apparent and most common mood is his sulking. Even fucking around with the humans he once admired from afar only momentarily consoles him and allows him a brief window to wear his handsome smile again. Although he often misses the nameless endless forest he calls home, he knows that he won't be happy there either. Renji can be relatively volatile if he's taunted or if he finds anyone being aggressive with him. Although he is fairly ancient, he can be a bit air headed and lacking in wisdom for both language, and proper social behaviors. Despite this, Renji is often seen being a protective, friend/family-centric male thanks to his species. Arousing Renji with no intent to be mated is a major mistake. He's not initially lustful, but his true form is meant to engage in long and spontaneous mating.

Powers/Abilitys: Renji is an evasive fighter with both impressive strength and speed. While serious wounds can just as easily kill him, his regenerative ability is so top tier that bones, flesh, skin and even his clothing and hair reconstruct themselves almost the moment he realizes he's damaged. Both his self-healing and the more dangerous portions of his offensive capabilities slowly drain an invisible force within his body known as Mana. While topped off, even mundane humans can see a glow around his body and this glow slowly repairs and grows nearby plants. Any serious fighting takes a hefty toll on his mana pool while remaining on earth and repairing his Kimono-inspired attire very slowly drains him. His abilities include creating red and black basketball sized orbs and allowing them to fly outward away from him and potentially having them return to him to restore him based on their physical damage dealt. Creating a concentrated blast of emotion that ranges from despair to unshakeable arousal and forcing it into any living being within the cone of this blast. Greatly enhancing his own strength and speed or healing flesh/fleshy allies he can touch. Taking on his true form, that of a fifteen feet tall bus lengthed black and red fox with countless tails and a maw of unimaginably sharp fangs. All of his abilities can be enhanced by allowing them to take up more and more of his Mana. While this drains him, the spent mana gets dispersed almost like nearly invisible faint blue fog. He can't make use of it like that, but plants and trees can absorb it to repair and grow and anyone else who can make use of it for spells can make use of it. The amount he's used to carrying and absorbing and spending is so great that he can't even feel the tiny bits of it that he releases passively and from his attacks. Running out mana marks his immediate death.

Weapons: Kitsune Mask - A luxurious black and red mask that he carries with him allows him to return to his home at will. He cannot take on his true form without it and any human and most monsters could visit his home while wearing it as well. However, they must keep the mask on while they are there as losing it would have them also lose access to it's protections. Obtuse mana exposure has many brutal certain death outcomes such as exploding from the core as a mana bomb or quickly transforming into an oddly colored lifeless stone tree. Just for example.
