The teacher would look over the class, a bit saddened at the overall number but kept a smile on her face. The idea that not too many were interested in such a shift in daily life between monsters and humans, their kids to be more precise was understandable. This would change, she was sure of it. The temperature of the room would flux for a moment and cause her to begin speaking again. "Now, I know that this is a strange time for everyone, our guests included but I will have to say that I for one am happy to be teaching such a diverse group of kids. So, let's get through the normal school stuff for our first day. Who wants to start by introducing themselves? Maybe adding what you like to do in your spare time?"
The class would fall silent but a hesitant hand would raise as Lei would use one of his hands to push the other up, making sure that it didn't back down from being raise. "Yes, come on up here young man!" Lei froze almost instantly as Mrs. Ninomiya called on him, as if he wasn't expecting to be picked but being the only one to raise his hand, there was no other competition. Lei would look over at Makabe, seeing the change in appearance and somehow gathering strength to look good in front of her.
Lei would stand up and quickly make his way to the front of the room, looking at the floor almost the entire time. He would be handed a piece of chalk to write his name. He would start writing but when he was done, the name was far too small so he would erase the name and try to make it bigger but once more, too small. Third time he had it just smaller than the one the teacher had made. He would turn around, his head slowly forcing itself up to see the students all looking at him, waiting for him to speak. "M-My Name... My name..." He would glance at Makabe and then looked back to the class. "My name is Lei. I like making things. Happy to meet you all." He would bow as the teacher would clap. "Well, that was vague but well done Lei, great to have you with us."
Lei would quickly make his way back to his chair as the whispers of other students making various comments about the introduction. He would sit down and cross his arms, burring himself in them, only peering up to peek at the blackboard to see whom would be next.
